chapter 14
InuYasha continued to bang on the barrier and tossed back. He kept screaming her name, as if it would help him get through to her. The others tried to enter but couldn’t.
Kagome saw that she could see them and couldn’t hear anything but a soft song. The beautiful song was coming from further from the barrier. She forgot all about InuYasha and the others and followed the song. It seemed to call to her, as she grew closer, the song grew louder.
She couldn’t make out the words to the song. It was like an ancient, forgotten language. It had eeriness to it. Following the song brought her to a cliff where she saw Shizuka dancing to the song her body movements increasing with speed as the song did. Her eyes were open but she did not see. Her lips moved but no sound came out. Her ears twitching but they could not hear Kagome calling to her. Her hair whipped around her giving her a possessed look. Finally she stopped look out to sea.
“Shizuka?” Kagome walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Suddenly Kagome could see a young woman with long black hair flowing around her. Her eyes were like storm clouds. She looked down on Shizuka and Kagome.
“You must be Kagome Hiragashi.”
“How do you know who I am?”
“I saw you fall through the well on your birthday into this time of past. You are a very special girl. You tried to help Shizuka with Hotaru.”
“Yea I did.”
“You probably wondering who I am aren’t you.”
“Yes I am”
“I am the Goddess Linnia, a messenger of Inari, the Goddess of all Foxes. Shizuka is one of my favorites of all of them, for she is my daughter.”
“You mean Shizuka is like a goddess?”
“Yes she is. Well sort of. You see she renounced her title as a Goddess to live among the spirit foxes. She gave Inari her voice for the ability to stay with the living. She was then captured and tortured for days on end. She did not call to me or ask me to help her so I could do nothing but watch in horror to see my little girl suffer. Then Youko came along to where she was captured along with a bat demon Kuronue. I thought for sure she would fall for the handsome Youko but to my surprise she fell for the bat demon.” Linnia smiled at her daughter. “The barrier I am surprised let you through. It was meant to keep all out. But your spirit must be pure or one that I have never met before.”
“I am supposedly the keeper of the Shikon Jewel. It was inside me. That is how I can travel through times and apparently your barrier.”
“Well do you know a Inu-half breed?”
“His name is InuYasha. Why?”
“For the past 20 minutes he has been pounding on my barrier shouting your name… If he continues I will make my barrier throw him harder to stop him… it is giving me a headache.”
“Oh! Please, let me get him…”
“I’m going anyway… Take care of Shizuka…Oh and Kagome… The way to fully destroy your enemy is through the mind.” And with that the music stopped and she could hear InuYasha roar her name.
“I’m over here InuYasha.” InuYasha ran over to the maiden from the future.
“Are you ok?”
“I’m fine InuYasha. I found Shizuka.” The group came up and saw Shizuka for the first time with a look of peace on her face before all she saw was the sky as she fell backward and into the arms of the earth.

A/N So what do you all think? Shizuka is the daughter of a Goddess and Kagome is the only one who knows. What did the goddess mean when she said the only way to fully destroy your enemy is through the mind? Who knows... Well i do but you don't NA NA NA NAA NAAA NAA (ok please don't kill me!!)
