Revelations
Disclaimer: The story is mine, but the characters aren’t. I do this for fun and don’t make a single penny from it.
Chapter 16: Revelations
The fight was taking place today. Kagome mused that for so long her life had revolved around three days.
She was beginning to understand why this had to take place but wasn’t sure how she wanted it to turn out.
She was standing next to Sango and few wolf demon females as the beginning of the fight came. She had to be there.
She turned and looked off at the work on her new home. She may have to attend, but she didn’t have to really watch them trying to tear into each other.
The different clangs from the fangs meeting and the blows being delivered made her jump. She finally had to take a peek. Turning her head, she saw the fight.
It was fierce, but not as bloody as she thought it would be.
She had fully expected to turn around and see all three males covered in blood, but they were only breathing hard and tearing up some of the land.
At that realization, she got somewhat annoyed. They were tearing up the land around her new home! What the hell?
The battle continually got fiercer.
Koga landed a kick to Inu Yasha’s head, knocking him down and leaving him vulnerable to Sesshomaru’s attack. Surprisingly, before that attack was even landed, Inu Yasha jumped up and retaliated against Koga and sent his Blades of Blood toward the wolf youkai.
Kagome was beginning to hear harsh breathing and whining sounds but paid them little head until Sango fell.
She turned to her sister and gasped.
Sango’s face was scrunched up in pain and her breathing was labored.
“Miroku!!!!” she yelled and then turned to her sister. “Come on. Try to relax. We’ll get you inside.”
She continued to make soothing sounds and didn’t notice the battle had ended. Nor did she notice the winner.
Sesshomaru picked up the woman and followed her husband to their quarters and laid her down as Kagome began to examine her. She smiled as she walked out into the hallway hours later.
“False alarm, but she should take it easy. It seems that she has been stressed out, and it is taking its toll on her body. I need to go get some different herbs that will help her.” Everybody nodded at Kagome as she stepped out and waited on someone to accompany her.
Koga stepped forward and linked his arm with hers. His face was bloody and had a couple of swollen areas, but it was healing quickly.
“Well, our problem is settled.”
She only nodded up at him, not sure who won or the turn out. She knew that she would be told.
“Inu Yasha is back in the pack, and now, you only have to accept him as one of your mates.”
Kagome’s eyes went big at this news. She understood what she had been told, but that really hadn’t been a lot. Thankfully, she could read Sesshomaru’s thoughts.
She turned and expected to see her other two mates following her, but she was alone with Koga.
“Is this what you want, Kagome?” His eyes looked worried, but he remained calm. Apparently, Sesshomaru had been rubbing off on him.
She grinned at that thought. Well, Koga had definitely been rubbing off on him because the dog demon lord had been affectionate with her. He nuzzled her and took care of her.
She had to decide whether she could handle all three of the demons. She turned to her wolf.
“I love you. I love Sesshomaru. I have always loved Inu Yasha. I don’t know what I would do if…” She trailed off in her thoughts, unsure of what she was saying.
“Yes. I think it is time that we all were settled. I have said goodbye to the past… well, the future… and now I have a new life to tend to. I have all the love that I could have ever dreamed of plus some. But, can you all accept each other?”
Koga smiled down at her and surprised her with his answer.
He leaned down and pulled her close to himself and kissed her deeply, pressing her close to his body and her lips gently but firmly into his own.
“The only thing we wish for is your happiness.”
Kagome felt something when he said that. She felt as if something was fixed that was broken.
She felt lighter.
She felt carefree as she did when she was just turning fifteen.
Her hand drifted down to the chain that held the jewel and found it empty.
“Koga! The jewel!”
He opened her kimono and found just the chain. The jewel was gone. He began to sniff her.
The jewel had reentered her body, but he could not pinpoint where it was within her.
Because Madame Centipede had been able to find it and tear it from her body, he should have been able to smell where it was.
“The jewel is back in you, but I can’t smell where it’s at.”
She looked up into his puzzled gaze. What had happened?
“You all made a wish. An unselfish wish.” His words floated through her. We just wish for you to be happy.
The jewel wasn’t supposed to exist, was it? Well, he can’t figure out where it is, and he is a lot stronger than the centipede demon that she had first met.
She smiled. This was good.
~*~ Later that night ~*~
Inu Yasha and Sesshomaru were waiting in the complete bedchamber for Koga and Kagome to return. They knew that the talk had gone well, but something had happened involving the jewel.
Inu Yasha was almost sure that is was gone.
They looked up as Kagome came bounding into the room with an amused Koga following just seconds behind her.
“The jewel is back in me! You all did it. You three restored it fully. I… I… I… I don’t know how to thank you.”
She was smiling and crying as she walked up to each brother and hugged him deeply.
“I love you all so much.”
She said that as Inu Yasha pulled her close and stroked her face tenderly. Koga moved up behind her and nuzzled her neck while Sesshomaru moved toward her and stroked her hair back and kissed her forehead.
A/N: Well, this is pretty well the last chapter. I may add an epilogue though....
