Battle of Wills (revised)

Kagome leaned against Inu Yasha, holding her stomach as they both laughed over events past. How she had missed this simple, warm, comfortable feeling of belonging. She felt so relaxed with Inu Yasha. It was like having an old friend who had grown up with you through the uncomfortable phases of childhood and still stayed by your side. How long had they fought side bye side, placing their lives in each other hands? She sighed softly. She seemed to find brief moments of sanity in her faded memories. It was a celebrated distraction from the turmoil in her heart. Sesshoumaru had disappeared only an hour before, and while she was now convince he had in fact, left the area, his actions only confused her more. She wanted Sesshoumaru. She loved Inu Yasha. She'd been in love with Inu Yasha for so long, but she had TOLD Sesshoumaru she loved him so easily. Had it been an accident? Was she really such a horrible, fickle girl that she couldn't commit her heart to one man? 'I won't let this ruin our time together.' She told herself as she half listened to Inu Yasha describe a battle with a demon several years back.

Kagome smiled and fell back against the beach next to Inu Yasha. "I am so full" She groaned.

"Keh! You barely ate anything Kagome." Inu Yasha responded.

"I almost ate a whole fish by myself." She argued as she ran her hand over her exposed stomach, groaning again. "And they were HUGE."

Inu Yasha chuckled, picking at the leftovers as he sat by the dwindling fire.

Kagome sighed a contented sigh as she stared up at the sky, which by this time had faded to night. "The stars are so beautiful." She mused more to herself then to anyone else.

Inu Yasha smiled, and laid down next to Kagome. "So this was a good idea then?"

She laughed, 'How many times does he need to hear me say it?' She remarked to herself. "Yes Inu Yasha," She smiled as she sighed again, "this was a wonderful idea."

He turned his head and looked at her as she lay beside him.

She refused to meet his gaze. The saddness of her heart would not allow it.

"Kagome..." He spoke softly as he began to stroke her arm with the tips of his fingers.

She grimaced slightly. She couldn't do this to him. She couldn't be with him this way. Kagome pulled her arm away. "Why don't we play a game Inu Yasha?" She questioned as she stared into the heavens. "To pass the time."

Inu Yasha retracted his arm, a bit confused. "Okay Kagome.........how about..." He turned his head so that he was once again staring at the stars. "truth or dare." He smirked.

Kagome turned to him in shock. She recalled teaching him that game once many years ago. They had played a number of times, until someone asked him a question about Kikyo, and he simply refused to play. She quirked a brow as she lifted herself up on her arms. "YOU ...want to play truth or dare?"

"Yeah," He answered as he placed his hands under his head. "It'd be fun."

Kagome raised an unconvinced eyebrow.

"Oh whats a matter Kagome?" A grin crept acrossed his face. "Scared?"

She flinched. They were the same words she had used two years ago when he refused to answer her questions about Kikyo. "Not at all." She huffed as she crossed her arms acrossed her chest. She could never back down from one of his challenges. It was one of her weaknesses. The game would be distracting, and she needed distraction. Anything to keep her mind off of Sesshoumaru. Anything to keep herself from the questions of her heart. "In fact," She began, "I'll go first!"

She laid back down on the sand and stared up at the night sky. "Inu Yasha, truth or dare."

"Truth." He grunted.

Kagome smiled. She hadn't played this game since she was a child, and somehow playing it with Inu Yasha now was like regaining a part of her lost childhood. She smiled as the usual parade of obsurd questions ran through her mind. "Did you ever......" She chewed her lip as she thought of her question. "sneak over to my time when I was sleeping."

"Yes." Inu Yasha answered with a hint of guilt, his ears laying flat against his head.

Kagome giggled. "I knew it! I thought I was losing my mind." She remarked as she tried to remember just HOW MANY times she had woken up with the window to her room ajar. She smiled as her laughtered ebbed. "Okay okay, Your turn Inu Yasha."

"Truth or Dare" He responded as he continued to stare into the night sky.

"Truth." She beamed as she laid back down beside him.

His face became more serious as he formed his question. "Other then this morning, other then the village to the west thing this morning, have you ever lied to me?"

Kagome's heart sank. Why did she like this game again? She swallowed hard. She could lie again. It was, after all, only a game. She sighed heavily to herself. 'No. I won't do that to him. This is my chance to be honest.' She looked over to him as he stared into the heavens waiting for her answer. Kagome brought her gaze back to the stars above as she confessed. "Yes." She answered meekly.

Inu Yasha fell quiet. "Your turn." He remarked softly.

Never before had Kagome felt more guilty. She was sure he wanted to know more, but the rules of the game demanded he wait until his next turn. Suddenly, she regretted ever agreeing to this. "Truth or Dare?" She asked in a somber tone.

"Truth." He answered quickly.

She turned her head to the side as she softly let her question fall from trembling lips. "Would you ever be able to forgive me?" It was an unfair question. Obviously he had no idea what she had lied to him about, but she didn't care, she wanted to know.

He rolled his head to the side as a clawed finger lightly traced her trembling lips. "Yes." He answered back softly with a tender expression on his face.

Kagome smiled as she felt tears well up behind her eyes. Her heart ached as she gazed into his eyes. She was drowning in the deep pools of gold that flickered in the light of the campire. How she wanted to hold him. To tell him that she loved only him. Even if she wasn't sure. She wanted to give that to him. Wanted him to know he was loved. Wanted to comfort him. She reached for his face, her hand pausing momentarily as he spoke softly.

"Truth or Dare?"

Kagome withdrew her hand and looked back up to the heavens as she cleared her throat. She knew what his next question would be. She couldn't do that to him. Not after he looked at her so lovingly. She would not hurt him with the truth. "Dare." She bit out stubbornly.

"Keh!" He barked as he sat up, obviously irritated with her answer. "You never pick dare."

"Yes I do! I just did." She responded in an argumentative tone, as the soft mood between them quickly faded. She was surprized just how much he seemed to remember of a game they played only a couple times.

"You've never picked dare with me." He huffed. "What happens if you don't do it?"

"Then.......I have to answer any question you come up with." She nodded.

"Heh!" Inu Yasha grinned. No wonder people of Kagome's time found this game so appealing. He would easily get her to answer his questions. "You should have just picked truth and saved yourself the trouble." He growled in an amused tone.

Kagome raised an annoyed eyebrow and waited for his dare, crossing her arms across her chest defensively.

Inu Yasha smirked. "I dare you too....take your top off." A triumphant look quickly spread across his entire being as he saw Kagome's eyes grow wide.

"M-my top?" She questioned as her mouth went dry.

"Yup, and no crossing your arms either." Inu Yasha explained. "No top, arms at your sides, until the end of the game." He smirked to himself. She would either answer his question or refuse to play anymore. Either way he would know just how bad the secret was that she was keeping, and thats what he needed to know. "What's your answer Kagome?" He barked out.

She sighed inwardly. She couldn't quit now. If she ended the game now it would only make him more suspicous. Kagome took a deep breath and bit her lip. "Okay." She answered as she wrapped her arms around the top of her swimsuit. "Should I take it off now?"

Inu Yasha stuttered. "Y-yeah." He answered with a shocked expression on his face. He hadn't expected her to agree. One of the reasons he had requested it was because he thought it was something that she would never agree too. He didn't know what this meant. 'Does this make her secret more or less damaging? Does it-------. ' He stopped thinking.

Goosebumps rose against Kagome's skin as she hastily pulled her swimsuit top over her head and placed it lightly in a pile beside her. Her arms automatically went to cover her exposed breasts as Inu Yasha let out a staggered breath, but she stopped herself. 'Arms at your sides. Don't fidget. Sit up straight.' Ran the mantra in her mind. She took another deep breath as her nipples reacted against the cold air and dug her fingernails into the sand. She turned to Inu Yasha, forcing herself to appear unphased. "My turn?" She questioned in a forced even tone.

Inu Yasha simply stared at her, his breath coming out in long staggered sighs. "Y-Yeah." He answered as he licked his lips and swallowed hard.

"Truth or Dare?" She questioned as she watched Inu Yasha change his postion on the sand.

"Truth." He answered in a voice heavy with need.

"Did you ever sleep with Kikyo?" Kagome asked softly. It had been the same question that had ended their game several years ago. She felt bad for asking such a thing when she had been avoiding his questions, but her heart needed an answer.

Inu Yasha blinked. His gaze instantly moving up from her exposed chest to her eyes as he took in a sharp breath. "Yes." He answered honestly, an apologetic glimmer shinning through his eyes. "but before she sealed me to the tree." He added. "Before Naraku, before the jewel was shattered, before...." he hesitatetd. "before I met you." He whispered softly.

"Oh..." Kagome softly spoke as her words seem to stick in her throat.

"but only on the nights of the new moon." He added as if desperately trying to explain. "Thats why she wanted me to become human." He continued.

Kagome smiled at him, raising her hand in a reassuring way. "It okay Inu Yasha. You don't have to explain. Only have to answer the question I ask remember?" She finished in a forced playful tone. Who was she to judge him? She wouldn't judge him. She cared for him too much to let something that happened so long ago come between them.
"Your turn." She grinned as she tried to lighten his mood.

Inu Yasha smiled weakly. He wanted to tell her everything. He felt like confessing. However, he was willing to let her ask the questions that she felt she needed to know, at least for now. "Truth or dare?" He questioned again, his eyes once again transfixed on her exposed breasts only a few feet from his burning hands.

Kagome laughed as the game took on a more casual tone. "Dare." She sighed out with a hint or playful worry.

Inu Yasha grinned again as he caught her avoiding his questions. "I dare you too...." He leaned back on his palms and stretched his legs out over the sand, giving her a menacing look. "take off the rest of your clothes and sit in my lap." He finished in a lecherous tone.

Kagome swallowed again. She could tell by the look on his face he didn't believe she would do it. He was hoping she would cave and then answer the question they both knew she was avoiding. Kagome smirked slighlty as she imagined his shock if she agreed. That was enough for her to make up her mind. She stood up, grabbing at the waistband of her swimsuit, and pulling it down before she could talk herself out of it. She stood there, uncomfortably fidgetting, despite herself, as Inu Yasha gazed at her naked flesh. His reaction made her feel as if she had suddenly grown ten feet tall right in front of him.

He cleared his throat. Again she had surprized him. His heart was beating so loudly now that he found himself worried that she could hear it. "Now...." His voice faltered a little. "In my lap, Kagome." He ordered a little more forcefully.

Kagome blushed softly as she started walking over to Inu Yasha. He still rested against his palms in his relaxed position. She bit her lip as she tried to quiet the beating of her heart. Her body ached now under Inu Yasha's gaze. Her center seemed to warm and swell as the ache increased with each step toward Inu Yasha. She was becoming extremely turned on under his unyielding gaze, and it was maddening. She placed a leg on either side of his outstreched legs and lower herself down upon his lap, facing him. She heard him gasp as she did this, which caused her to smirk. He obviously hadn't expect her to comply so easily, and was possibly as turned on as she was. She took a deep breath again as she settled on his lap, looking up to find his eyes once again tranfixed on her chest. The gentle motions of her breathing causing it to sway softly only inches from from his lips.

He licked his lips again.

"My turn?" She asked softly as he slowly began to regain some composure.

"Y-yeah." He answered back again.

"Truth or Dare?" She asked again as she attempted to steady her breath.

"Truth." He replied in a tone full of longing.

"Did you love Kikyo?" She asked with a saddened expression crossed her face.

'Why would she always bring her up when they were so close?' His internal voice screamed. He growled lowly as the erection that had been slowly building began to strain against the fabric of his pants. 'What the fuck did Kikyo have to do with us anyways?' He growled to himself again as his inner voice became more aggitated. "I tought I did." He growled out lowly, as he fought against his body needs. "but that was a long time ago, " he barked, "and I don't really think about it anymore."

Kagome nodded softly. He seemed aggitated by her question, but he still answered it, again giving her more information then was really required for the game, but answered it none the less.

"Truth or Dare." He growled out in an aggitated tone as he dug his claws into the sand and stared at Kagome's exposed breasts while licking his lips again.

"Dare." She gasped softly as she felt his manhood begin to push at her wet opening through his clothing.

"I dare you to let me taste you." He barked out in desperation as his hands fell to her thighs.

Kagome gasped. "Wh....How...." She stammered.

"Do it or answer a question. " He growled as he began to pull at her thighs and lean back. This time he hoped she wouldn't ask for the question. He hadn't even waited for her responce before he started moving her body. He needed to be closer to her, NOW.

Kagome wimpered. 'What about Sesshoumaru?' Her mind screamed. 'Sesshoumaru who?' Her body answered. She hesitated. She was trapped. She couldn't answer his question and she couldn't let him do this...could she? 'Yes!' Screamed her body. 'No!' Screamed her head. "Okay.." She answered hesitantly as her legs began to tremble, and the familar dry feeling in her mouth made her swallow. Slowly, she let him pull her forward as he laid down against the sand again. She trembled as she knelt over his face, his warm breath gently carassing her now painfully swollen womanhood.

Lightly, he ran a soft clawed finger against the smooth and aching flesh, causing Kagome to jump and pull away. He grabbed at her hips, holding her in place and growling his disapproval as he settled her back into postion.

Kagome released a staggered breath as she attempted to calm herself again, feeling his thumb now lightly trace along her outter folds. She closed her eyes letting out a soft moan as he slowly brought his other hand lower on her hip, mimicing the same soft caress with his other thumb. She gasped softly as she felt him spread her nether-lips , the cool air carassing her wet and warm flesh as it hovered only inches from Inu Yasha's hot mouth.

She held that intense moment. The feeling of his eyes taking in every inch of her body. Nothing hidden from his hungry gaze as it threatened to devour her body and soul. Every nerve ending in her body tingled as her mind swam in a sea of anticipation.

Inu Yasha growled as he fought against his urges. Never before had he been this close to her. So intimate. He silently wished the moment could last forever, that he could stay there, her heart beating loudly as small gasps escaped her lips, knowing that he was the cause. But he needed her. Needed to taste her. Needed to hear her scream his name.
Slowly he raised his head from the sand, extending his tongue, and running it along the bundle of nerves that was now exposed to him. He stared up at her face as he did this, reveling in the exquiste expression of pleasure that he evoked.

Kagome cried out. The texture of his tongue against her throbbing nub sent shockwaves of pleasure throughout her body. She shuddered again and again as he painfully teased her with his tongue, pulling it lazily against her heated center. "Oh Inu Yasha." She moaned as his pace increased, her mind clouding over with lust. She could feel the familar feeling building again. She was being pushed over the edge, very quickly. She bent over, supporting herself with her arms as she began to push back against his face, recieveing a pleased growl from the hanyou beneath her.

"Yes....." She moaned.."Yes...." She began to scream as the first signs of her orgasm began to fill her blood stream. "Yes...Oh gods...Inu Yasha." She moaned as he began to slip a digit into her wet passage.

She grabbed fistfulls of sand as her orgasm began to over take her. Her body tried to pull away as her muscles tensed almost painfully against the hanyous tongue, but he held her there, refusing to stop until she screamed his name to the heavens.

"Inu Yasha!" She finally screamed as her muscles began to contract around his invading digit. Her body trembled violently as his tongue continued to lap at the tiny nub, despite her efforts to pull away. She let out a long and soft groan as he removed his fingers from the clenching flesh and moved his tongue inside her. Slowly he began to drink her essense, causing another shudder to claim Kagome's body. She stared out on the dark ocean as she slowly regained her senses. She held herself up like that for several minutes, panting and regaining her breath as Inu Yasha continued to consume her soul. She pulled herself away, recieving a soft wimper from the hanyou as she sat up beside him, hugging her knees, her mind once again filling with dark thoughts of betrayal.

"Game's over." She spoke softly. "You win." She sighed as she stared out into the open ocean.

He looked at her in confusion as she pulled away, a saddened expression on her face. "Kagome...." He whispered softly as he reached out for her.

She pulled away from him again, unable to meet his gaze. "I'm really tired..." She whispered softly into the ocean, "I think I should get some sleep." She finished, turning to him with the best fake smile she could summon. "Is that okay with you....Inu Yasha?"

He wanted to touch her. He wanted to tell her everything was okay. Had he upset her? Why was she pulling back? "Y-yeah Kagome." Was all he could manage as she smiled back and walked over to her sleeping bag. Had he hurt her? Inu Yasha's heart sank. He knew something was wrong, and for some reason she didn't want to tell him. He stood up and walked out into the dark ocean up his ankles, deep in thought, her taste still upon his lips. 'My sweet Kagome. What could be so bad that you can't tell ME?' He questioned internally, with a heavy heart.
