Hell With Hojo


As luck would have it Kagome ran into Hojo on her way home. He'd seen her right away and ran over. She spent the next thirty minutes reassuring him that she shouldn't be hospitalized. Once her health had been confirmed, he started loading her with other questions. Kagome started feeling sorry for the boy.

"Have you seen that new movie?"

"Nope, I haven't had much time to get out lately."

"Of course, please excuse my lapse of memory. I'm sure you don't like to be reminded of your illnesses."

"Sure don't." What a dweeb! She forced a smile at him. 'You can leave anytime now.'

"Let me take you out this weekend please." He begged.

"I don't know Hojo." She started to feel like a trapped rat, a reason she avoided him. Lucky for her, none of her school friends were here.

"Please, I'll make sure to bring cushions for your back. It will do you some good to get some fresh air. We can sit in the back row so the volume doesn't bother your fractured ear drum."

Was there no body part left on her? Time for drastic measures, okay what would get him off her case. Pregnancy for some man, no then he'd start vowing to take care of her and the unborn child. Hmmm, she's a lesbian. Yeah that might work, yeah that sounded really really good. "Well you see I'm kind of seeing someone Hojo."

"Really, I didn't realize you had time to date with you being sick and all."

'Grrrrr... give me a break, don't shoot holes all over my lie.' She sighed, "Yes, well actually I met this person while I was in the hospital...."

"And we've been seeing each other since." The red head suddenly appeared out of the crowd. He almost smiled at seeing this so called Hojo. The boy was obviously smitten with the girl, why he had no idea. Maybe the same reason his partner had been. That smile of hers hid what was underneath. He could tell she was lying about dating someone, it was perfect. She needed help out of a situation, he would gladly give it to her. "There you are sweetheart, I've been looking for you."

"Ah, I didn't realize you were dating Shuichi. I'm sorry."

Kurama walked up to the stunned girl, she just stared at him wide eyed. He stopped in front of her and placed her chin in his hands. He placed his lips on hers before she could react.

Kagome was so stunned at seeing him not to add his statement. He kissed her before she could blink. The brush of his lips on hers, sent a jolt down her spine. She'd swear her toes curled. She felt it all the way to her to soul. She pulled back from him suddenly scared.

Hojo cleared his throat. He wasn't suprised that Kagome was dating Shuichi. All the girls in college talked about him. Even though he didn't attend college most had went to high school with him. "Well, it was nice seeing you again Kagome."

As soon as the boy was gone Kagome's anger snapped. She brought her hand up and slapped him in the face. He had his head down and didn't speak. "Thanks for the interruption, next time don't touch me."

"I was merely trying to make it believable. At least you won't have to worry about him bugging you anymore." He stated, he was trying to keep his anger in control. He felt like striking out at her.

"You're right, I'm sorry. Its just, never mind." Kagome sighed. What could she say, it had angered her that he'd kissed her and she'd liked it. The thought of liking another man touching her made her heart ache and guilt to plaque her. It didn't matter if she never saw him again, he'd been her first. She still loved him.

"Can I walk you home?" He asked.

"Why?"

"Keiko said something about your health, I merely want to see you get home okay. You are kind of pale."

It's called a broken heart, try em they're fun. She sighed, "Fine." She turned and walked towards the shrine. His steps soon fell in with hers. She was overly aware of his every move.

Kurama took the time to take in her scent. There was no doubt in his mind, she was his. His mark still clung to her like it was fresh, only a few months old. Had she found a way to keep her body the way it was the day she died? "So, how long have you been dating Hojo?"

"I'm not dating Hojo, I've never dated him." She stated.

"I see, are you dating anyone?"

"No, not at the moment." She replied. She didn't plan on it either. Everytime she loved someone, they ended up caring for her but that was it. In the end the love would be onesided. Hell, she was sure Inuyasha had been to preoccupied with Kikyo to miss her and Koronue probably never even returned to try and see her. He'd left her that morning to go off with Youko for who knew how long. If he did ever try to find her again it might have been to get him some. Not being able to find her, she would have just become another notch on his belt. He'd probably went off with his friend and forgotten about her. Oh, yeah who was that human I once banged. A sigh escaped her lips, she wouldn't cry in front of someone she didn't know. Bad enough he was sure to already think she was a bitchy head case that had a problem staring at the ground.

"I see, so would you let me take you to a movie?"

"I don't think that would be a good idea." She hoped he'd accept that.

"Why?"

Guess not, "I don't know. Maybe because I don't know you."

"My name is Shuichi, Kagome." Her name slipped off his tongue. "I would like to get to know you. Just one date and if you don't want to continue after that then I will accept it."

"Okay fine but its only going to be one movie." Anything to get him off her case. She was glad to see the shrine steps. "Thanks for walking me home."

"I'll be here to pick you up friday around four. Is that acceptable."

"Yeah sure thats fine." She sprinted up the steps. As she ran up, she could swear he was burning holes in her back once again.
