Sesshomaru: *picks up Hisoka and throws him out window.
*begins to lick Rin who is giggling.
Louis: “Where’s Moon?”
Moon comes in hand in hand with Malachi
Louis “Moon, baby, what?”
Moon: “Maybe we can be friends…you know Malachi does more for my animalistic nature.”
Louis: “Friends with benefits?”
Malachi: “Not on your life…”
Savannah: “Will you two take it to the bedroom?”
Rin and Sesshomaru: *blush “Sorry.”
*leaves for the guest bedroom.
Hisoka: “I am so bored!”
Savannah: “Go play with my torture toys.”
Hisoka: “ok.”
Savannah: “Don’t kill the neighbor’s new dog!”
Hisoka: “AWWW…”
Chapter 13 The Day Before: Interrogations and Accusations
Sesshomaru sat in his study going through his paperwork when Malachi poked his head in. “My Lord we are ready.”
“Very good Malachi. You know what you must do.”
“Hai M’lord”

Kamahi dragged her eyes open reluctantly and winced at the sunlight streaming in. She got and got dressed looking critically at herself in the mirror beside her bed, wincing at the white scars left on her bronze skin. Malachi walked in just as she had finished getting dressed.
“What?”
“You are to come with me.”
“Why?”
“You are not to question me. I am under Lord Sesshomaru’s orders.”
“Fine.” She knew this was going to be a bad day. Rin had probably tattled on her. *(snitch)* shrugging she followed her ex-fiancé down the hall and into the dungeons.

Rin stood looking at the blue and crimson fabric that was held out to her thoughtfully tapping her chin.
“Put the blue in the East wing and The red in the West.”
“Yes Mi’Lady Is there anything else?”
“Yes, where are the guest being placed?”
“Lady Kauri and Lord Senath are housed together in the North wing, Lady Malarial is in the East wing next to Lady Thasial as well as The foreign representatives from the Land Oversees, The twin Lord and Lady of the South have requested to room together in the South tower, Lord Kouga and all three of his mates are to be in the Western wing but as far from any of the maids quarters as possible.” Rin’s personal maid finished keeping a completely straight face at the mention of the lecherous Lord of the East.
“That’s good, but I think that Lady Thasial should be uh…more comfortable with about four rooms in between her and Lady Malarial. Also I want Lord Kouga and his mates to be as close to Sesshomaru and My rooms to keep an eye on them ,but not close enough that we can hear anything from their rooms. Is this agreeable?”
“Oh Yes Mi’Lady! You do not need my permission to change anything, it shall be as you wilt.”
“Nonsense! I value your opinion, if you have a suggestion then speak up.”
“No Mi’Lady, I agree with this change, Though I think that the Ladies need more than four rooms to separate them, maybe a country. Lady Malarial and Lady Thasial have long since had a feud going, and I would not want the nights meetings to be interrupted by petty yelling.” Was whispered in a conspirator’s tone.
“Yes, Oh and make sure that there is nothing green in Lord Senath room, he has become quite skittish about that color and we want our guest to be comfortable.”
“Yes, Lady.”
“Good, you may go.”
Rin sat back and contemplated everything she had done that morning. She was on a roll. Now to the ballroom to check on the decorations. The Youkai World Council was held once every two years, with a different Lord or Lady hosting it each time, this would be the second or third time that is was held in Sesshomaru’s keep, and everything must be perfect.
She cringed at the remembrance of last time. The had been at Lady Sera’s Castle in the Land Oversees and when she had walked in she thought she’d gone completely crazy, everything had been pink! The walls, the ceilings, floors even the food. After three days of it Rin was about to go nuts and Sesshomaru was looking like he might be ill. Usually it was the females job to plan the Council except when there was no mate. But this had been ridiculous.
She was determined to make this a good year and Sesshomaru would be proud of her. Just like as a child her greatest fear was disappointing him. She got up and walked down the halls, commenting on things and people and giving orders for more this or that.

Malachi walked stiffly ignoring the woman beside him as he led her deeper and deeper down the stairs. He pushed open the door of a room and allowed Kamahi to pass into it before him. She did so, skeptically. He closed and locked the door placing the heavy metal key around his neck and stalked towards the now not so confident chambermaid. He pulled her arms above her head with little resistance. After securing the metal loops around her hands he tied it to rings in the wall, leaving her with little freedom of movement and a frightened uneasiness. Masking her fear with a customary smirk she said,
“Oh Malachi, I didn’t know you were like that. You should have told me, I could have brought toys.” He continued saying nothing. She was now pinned to the wall her arms above her head and her feet chained together. He stepped back and looked at his work with the critical eye of a trained perfectionist. Nodding he walked over to a table and started grounding herbs with a mortar and pestle still not saying anything. When he was satisfied with the texture, smell, and color of the liquid he held in the vial. He stopped and walked till he was directly in front of her. As he was taller than her he made an imposing presence, his silence did nothing to soothe her nerves. “You will answer my questions. You will not address me with anything other than Guard Malachi and you will not make any derogatory or exclamatory expletions. Am I understood?”
“Yes Guard Malachi.” Her brain was working furiously. This was not a simple case of Rin telling Sesshomaru she had been mistreated, this was a bit more serious. “Good.” Came the cold reply somewhere to her left.
“Do you know Lady Rin?”
“Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Did you ever plot to kill her?”
“No Guard Malachi.”
“Was there ever a plot against her by another that you were aware of?”
“No Guard Malachi.”
“Do you hate Lady Rin?”
*pause “Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Do you know that she is Lord Sesshomaru’s mate?”
“Yes.”
“Yes what?”
“Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Do you know that by plotting against her, you are plotting against your Lord and Master and the entire Eastern Land?”
“Nn..No Guard Malachi.”
“Do you know to do this is treason.”
“Yes Guard Malachi.”
“You know it is treason to lie during an interrogation under penalty of death?”
“Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Do you know one named Hisoka?”
“No Guard Malachi.”
“Are you telling me the truth?”
“Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Do you know what Vertiserum is?”
*panic “Ye…Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Are you willing to swear under oath to these statements while under this drug?”
“NO! Malachi please, you know I would never to Rin….”
“SILENCE! I told you the rules before the interrogation, did you not understand them?”
“Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Good then you will not object to being put under for the rest of the questioning.”
“No! Malachi….”
He forced her head back and tipped the liquid down her throat even though it was a losing battle she tried to spit it out but he held her mouth firmly closed as the burning drug worked its way into her system.
“Now, What is your name?”
“Kamahi.” She answered with a slight edge of hysteria, she would tell the absolute truth now.
“Do you know who I am?”
“Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Do you know who Lady Rin is?”
“Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Have you ever plotted with one named Hisoka against Lady Rin with the intent of taking her mate to bed with you and claiming her role as Lady of the Western Lands.”
“Nn…nn…AHHHH!!”
She tried to bend over but her restraints kept her from moving to relieve the blinding pain in her abdomen. Malachi stared dispassionately at her and waited for the tremors to subside.
“I believe you were asked a question.”
“Yes Guard Malachi.”
“Yes what?”
“Yes I plotted with the one named Hisoka to get rid of Rin in order to take her place next to Sesshomaru.”
“Were you forced into this arrangement?”
“No.”
“Who approached who?”
“I was approached by Hisoka with the intent of him taking me against my will, I was able to save myself from death by promising him a young human virgin girl.”
“Rin?”
“Yes.”
“I thought it would be the perfect way to get her out of the picture and then get into Sesshomaru’s good graces.”
“I see.” He let no emotion show in his voice, and began pacing, the only sign of his agitation.
“When was the last meeting you had with Hisoka?”
“Two days ago, I was summoned.”
“Summoned? How?”
“A coin that he gave me, it burns when he wants to talk.”
“What happened at this meeting?”
“I was brought to his private chambers, I was angry he hadn’t succeeded in getting rid of Rin, So I vented my frustration on him. He proceeded to tell me about my not informing him of how strong Sesshomaru was. We argued and then he told me to get on the bed. I did. He came back out a whip and beat me while I relived every horrid detail of my life. Then I came home.”
“Was there anyone else there?”
“Nn…Yes a girl named Moon.”
“Who is she?”
“His slave. It was her job to watch Rin and Sesshomaru and report back to him, she is also a toy he uses on occasion.” She spit the last with the utmost revulsion.
“Do you ever meet alone with this girl named Moon?”
“Yes…sometimes she comes to the gate and I slip her messages about Rin.”
“When will you see her again?”
“Today, this afternoon, we are supposed to…”
“To what?”
“Su…supposed to make a plan for another kidnap attempt on Rin.”
“When is it supposed to take place?”
“During the Council, I am to let in Moon at the gate…Then she will distract Sesshomaru while I take Rin out in to the woods where Hisoka waits to take her back to his castle.”
“Alright that is enough. The drug will wear off in about an hour, you will stay here until Sesshomaru decides what to do with you.”
He turned to leave and at the door gave one last look to the woman who stole his heart. “Kamahi?”
“Yes Guard Malachi?”
“Did you ever love me?”
She looked into his steely eyes with her head held high and a single tear slipping a trail down her face and answered… “No.”

Malachi ran to Sesshomaru's library and with out knocking entered. His Lord looked up at the intrusion and waited patiently for Malachi to begin. Malachi paced in agitation around and around the study his hands clasped tightly behind his back. Finally Sesshomaru couldn’t take it any more. “Well, what did you learn?”
“She is guilty.”
“Yes?”
“There is a plan to kidnap Rin and take her to that bastard Hoshi during the Council. You were also right about the demon, Moon…she is a slave an involuntary one. Kamahi however was not. It has been her intent all along to get rid of Rin so that she could have you. There was a meeting planned for today just for Kamahi and Moon this afternoon to finalize the arrangements.”
“Can you apprehend her?”
“Of course.”
*pause
“M’lord where is Rin?”
“In the ballroom. She said to me… ‘Sesshomaru! Get Out!’ ” Sesshomaru mimicked in a high pitched Rin voice. Malachi laughed, “I take it you did as you were told?”
“The place was crawling with females. I left because I had work to do.”
“Uh-huh sure.”
“Well when you have the demon ness bring her straight to me.”
“Hai M’lord.”

Malachi hid in the shadows on at the edge of the keep near the start of the forbidden forest. He saw a movement to his left and moved quickly to intercept it. He pounced on the person and froze staring into the deep purple eyes of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. As they gazed at each other in rapture he had an amazing revalation this was the one! Her! She was his. He moved in and kissed her gently almost pleadingly. Moon was frozen, what the hell! She wasn't expecting a man! What should she do? He was so warm and comfortable. She leaned back and accepted His advances. There was somethiung different about this one. She caught his eyes and tried to hypnotize him. It didn't work! This was him. He was the one!
