Cats and Dogs
When Kouga
and the others arrived at his den, they were greeted by a confused Hakkaku and
Ginta.
“Kouga! Kouga! We felt the presence of two half-demons coming along with you and we—“
They silenced themselves and gaped at the unconscious Kagome
in Kouga’s arms. Kouga rolled his eyes and walked past themo hio his den. He
laid her down on his pallet and Ebony immediately curled herself around Kagome
for warmth. Kouga looked down at his Kagome. He closed his eyes in a silent
prayer for Riquo and Sango.
“Inuyasha, before we go barging into black wolf territory, I
think there are a few things you should know about them.”
Inuyasha seated himself next to Miroku against the wall of
Kouga’s room. Shippo bounded into Kouga’s lap with Kilala and the cheetahs
blocking the entrance.
“What’s to know? This isn’t some big to-do battle, we’re
just going in, getting Riquo and Sango and then get the hell outa there.”
Kouga sighed and rubbed his temples, “No, Inuyasha, you
don’t understand. Though they are beatable, this clan is amongst the strongest
of all wolf clans…and the most corrupt. Believe me, you’re gona want to kill
them when you see what they’re doing to your mate.”
Inuyasha growled and stood, “What are they doing to her!
Tell me now damnit!”
“Inuyasha calm yourself now! ::sigh:: If I know how
desperate Baroux is, he’ll use her to repopulate his clan. As dumb as it may
seem, half and half demon offspring, they would be very powerful, especially
since Riquo has so much power within her. And for Sango, they wouldn’t use her
for mating; most likely they’d use her as a whore just for when Riquo wasn’t
available.”
Miroku stood as well infuriated, “How dare you speak so
calmly about such a thing! Both of them could be killed!”
“Believe me monk, they won’t purposely or willingly kill
them. And I’m shocked you doubt their stamina for survival, especially since
the exterminator was trained to survive. We will get them back, and I will call
upon every ally my clan has so we can get them back alive.”
Inuyasha narrowed his eyes, “Why are you doing this for us?”
“One, Riquo is family, and no one kidnaps any part of my
family. Two, if it was my mate in their grasps, I’d be using all the help I
could get just to get her back,” he said looking at Kagome with every ounce of
love he had for her.
Inuyasha dropped his head so his bangs hid the tears
threatening to fall, “Thank you.”
Suddenly Ebony sprinted backwards away from Kagome's body
and barked.
“Shit she’s waking up!”
“Inuyasha! Use that technique on her! I don’t want her
waking up before—“
“Don’t you dare Inuyasha.”
They all stared at the newly awakened form of the pissed
cheetah half demon form of Kagome. She glared at Inuyasha for several moments before
she started blinking rapidly.
“Why does everything seem so vibrant? I feel like my eyes
have sharpened or something—Aaah!”
She jumped up grabbing her butt, her eyes widening. Kouga
gulped.
“Everything alright sweetie?”
Kagome felt around for several moments on her butt before
she finally got hold of her tail.
“Kouga, I have a tail.”
“Um, yes you do!”
Inuyasha, who was grinning like an idiot, walked up to her
with the evilest of intentions. He stared at Kagome for a moment before
reaching up and gently grabbing one of her ears like she’d done to him so many
times before. Kagome's eyes widened even more before. Suddenly a loud purr
erupted from her throat and she slapped her hands over her mouth and jerked
away backing herself into the wall.
“W-wh-what am I?!”
Miroku stepped past Kouga and Inuyasha, knowing he was
better at dishing out this kind of information steadily than the bluntness of
Kouga or Inuyasha.
“Lady Kagome, it seems that during your,” he glanced at
Shippo, “actions with Kouga, somehow you’ve been transformed into a cheetah
half demon. We are not quite sure how, but we promise you that we will—“
“Alright, alright I get it Miroku. So, I sort of resemble
Riquo?”
“She doesn’t have ears, and you’re missing the spots on your
body or the tearstains on your face, but yes, you resemble Riquo,” Kouga said.
“Wow, imagine that,” she searched amongst all of them
looking for that familiar cat face, “where is Riquo? And where’s Sango?”
Inuyasha cleared his throat and glared at Miroku. Now was
the time to be blunt.
“A clan of wolves kidnapped them and they’re going to use
Riquo as a key to repopulating their clan and Sango as a whore.”
“WHAT?!” Kagome roared.
“We were just about to leave when you woke up. We have to go
to the black wolf den and get them back before he starts using them,” Inuyasha
said, dropping his head again.
“Alright then, let’s go. Kouga do any of your men have some
bow and arrows I can use?”
“No.”
“Ok well then I guess I’ll just have to use my new demon
skills. Can’t be that hard can it?”
“I meant no you’re not going.”
“And why the hell not?! Riquo and Sango are my best friends
and I am not about to just sit here and wait in suspense while all of you
practically get yourselves killed! I’m coming, there’s gota be something I can
do to help!”
Kouga rolled his eyes and Inuyasha shook his head, “Love,
walk.”
Kagome cocked her head to the side, “Walk? Why, I know I can
walk.”
“Just try it.”
Kagome hadn’t even realized she been leaning against the
wall with all of her weight until she pushed off of it. She balanced herself
with ease and gave Kouga a cocky smile. He smiled and just nodded for her to
continue. She took a step and frozer ker knees fell together so her thighs
closed around her crotch and she placed a hand on the wall for support.
Kagome cursed under her breath. Not giving up and knowing fully well that if
she’s really a demon then she would heal soon. So she tried to take another
step…and fell. Luckily she fell right into Kouga’s arms and he placed her down
on the pallet next to Ebony.
“That kind of thing will take a while to heal. Please stay
here. Shippo and Ebony will stay with you and I’ll leave some of my most
trusted men here with you. Ok love?”
Kagome sniffled and then shot her head up, glaring at
Inuyasha, “Inuyasha, I’m a half demon now. Bring Riquo back alive or it’ll be
Inuyasha smirked, “You got it.”
Miroku, Inuyasha, Kilala, and the cheetahs walked out. Kouga
kissed Kagome goodbye.
”I will come back to you, I promise.”
“I know, but it’s Riquo and Sango I’m worried about.”
“I’ll bring them back too, be safe my love.”
And with that he walked out of his pallet. He gathered his
comrades around him and scanned them all, picking out the best fighters.
“Men, we are going to fight Baroux and his clan. They have
something of ours and we want it back. Hakkaku, Ginta, stay here and watch
after Kagome. Four of Riquo’s cheetahs will stay as well. The rest of you, take
arms and follow us, we aren’t out to kill them, we want to take back what is
ours,” Kouga chuckled, “But if you happen to kill one of the bastards during
the rescue, then good for you.”
Everyone whooped and cheered. They all grabbed several
weapons and followed Kouga and the others out of the den. Kouga stood at the
entrance and watched them all exit. He looked back into his empty den towards
his pallet curtain. Kagome was sitting there on his pallet, with the curtain
pushed back, staring at him with tears in her eyes. Kouga glanced at Inuyasha
and his men. Inuyasha waved at him to go and Kouga took off towards Kagome.
He gathered her up in a loving embrace as she cried on his
shoulder. He grabbed her chin and looked into her icy blue depths. She stared
back at him and cried. He bent down and kissed her with all the love he had.
“I will come back to you.”
And with that he stood quickly and left. Kagome watched him
and his men retreat from the cave and sighed. Come back safe, all of you.

Inuyasha ran
alongside Kouga on the way to Baroux’s den. Miroku was on Kilala and every
cheetah Riquo had summoned and all of Kouga’s men ran behind them.
“So Kouga, how far until we get there?”
“Two miles.”
“That’s not far. I dt knt know you two shared borders.”
“We’re not supposed to. That bastard annihilated a race of
wolves that had lived in tterrterritory and he took it over. I think he plans
on doing that with my clan but my race is the biggest of all the wolf clans, he
wouldn’t get too far.”
“I say we stop him in his tracks, I don’t care who we kill
but Baroux is going to die before this day is over.”
Kouga chuckled, “Good thing it’s morning then huh?”
Inuyasha looked up and laughed. He hadn’t even realized it
was morning. The sun was on the rise and the morning dew put a new fresh scent
on everything it touched.
Inuyasha shook his head and concentrated on keeping up with
Kouga, “What I wouldn’t give to slit that bastard’s throat.”
“Keep your sword on, Inuyasha, we’re here.”
flash…literally. Now, the moment they had all been waiting for was here.
Inuyasha, Kouga and the rest were standing directly in front of the black wolf
clan and there den. Several of the wolves in that clan backed away, and some
ran inside shouting for Baroux.
Kouga folded his arms and waited patiently for Baroux to
come out. Miroku and Kilala landed beside Kouga and Inuyasha. Finally, Baroux
came running out to greet the site before him. He stared in disbelief at what
was standing right in front of him, but he put on a cocky grin and strutted
towards Kouga.
Inuyasha leaned towards Kouga and whispered, “I thought you
said you’d bring all the allies you have into this.”
Kouga quickly glanced at Inuyasha, “That’ll be a last
resort. Believe me Inuyasha, we shouldn’t need that.”
“So! Kouga! What brings you to my den on this lovely
morning?”
“Cut the bullshit Bar You You kidnapped Riquo and Sango and
we want them back, now.”
Baroux chuckled, “My dear prince, we have done no such thing!
You have wasted your time coming here.”
Inuyasha, the cheetahs, Miroku and Kilala protested with
growls, hisses, shouts and roars. Kouga placed an arm on Inuyasha’s telling him
to calm down. He stepped towards Baroux and sniffed. He walked around in front
of him, sniffing here and there and Baroux paled.
Kouga glared at him and growled, “It reeks of cheetah and
human females you lying bastard. Give them back to us now!”
Baroux’s men gathered behind him, weapons in hand.
“You want them back? You’ll have to fight for them.”
Inuyasha unsheathed and raised tetusaiga, “SO BE IT!”
