Love through the ages

A/N: Thank you again for the review KooKookitty. Sorry for the wait but I had writer’s block and then extreme makeover home edition was in my area and I just had to see Ty. And with standing in the sun without sun screen I got sun poisoning and haven’t been able to keep much down. But I sat down and poured my heart out. Enjoy!

Taijina watched from her window as the Northern Lord and his mate arrived. She fingered the collar of her kimono, her red kimono with white trim. It was the opposite of Sesshomaru’s own, making her seem his opposite. The Ying to his Yang. Then once they where mated she would wear kimonos to match him, showing she was his. Of course that was if he could defeat her in the claiming battle.

“My Lady,” called a voice from the door, as a small tapping sound was heard. Sighing she moved from the window and sat on her bed.

“What is it?” she called back, looking at her nearly bare room. Most of her things had been moved into the Lady of the West’s room. After of course the old Lady of the West was moved out, since she had lived there since she mated Lord Inu Tashio. Lady Shachime, Sesshomaru’s mother, had been hard press to give up her room, but if the Lady’s room was not connected to both the Lord’s room and the nursery Taijina would have let her stay in the room.

“The Lord request your presence as all of the Lords and Ladies have arrived,” a female rabbit Youkai opened the door, bowing lowly to her lady.

“Mya,” Taijina sighed as she walked towards the bright pink haired female. “I told you I hate the whole bowing thing. When you are just in my presence you need not bow as such.”

“Sorry my lady,” Mya replied as she stood up and shut the door. Taijina threw her a glare. “Taijina, but I know my place. You should learn yours.”

“My my, is little Mya getting irritable?” she giggled, sitting back on her bed. The demoness scowled at her lady, they may have grown up together but Mya always knew she was lower then Taijina in status. “Mya you know I don’t want this whole lady thing. I rather be young again and rolling around in the mud. Now I have to be prim and proper. Yawn, how boring.”

“But you are respected,” Mya replied as she sat on the floor next to the bed. “You will be mother to the future heir.”

“I will also be unable to train anymore,” Taijina growled as she plopped down onto the bed. “After all anyone I try to fight will be afraid they might harm the Lady of the West and face Sesshomaru’s wrath. Not to mention demoness who will try to kill me and take my place. How annoying.”

“Like you haven’t done this all before…” Mya started but then her voice faltered as she looked towards the floor.

“Before I left,” Taijina finished her sentence. They both silently sat there staring off into the distance. Before Taijina left they had been close, they consider each other sisters. Since her return it had been different, their relationship strained.

“Will you tell me the truth as to why you left,” Mya asked, her soft voice lower then normal Taijina barely heard her words.

“If I told you I was scared would you laugh?” she whispered back. Mya looked up at her, her purple eyes soft. “I was terrified he didn’t love me. When we were younger I looked at my mother who had mated my father only for his position and he mated her because she was easy on the eyes and held power. They hated each other, and then they had me the disappointment because I was a female. Then Lord Inu Tashio declared me as the future Lady of the West, and boy did all hell break loose.”

“You cannot look towards your future to be doomed as your parents lives,” Mya replied, as she stood up. “I’m sure the Lord loves you.”

“But what if I do not love him,” Taijina sighed as she sat back up. “What if I am unable to love.”

“You’re joking right,” Mya snorted as she stared down at the crestfallen girl. “Taijina you have a bigger heart then any demon in Japan so knock it off.”

The girls stared each other down before falling into a fit of laughter. Another knock was heard at the door. Quieting their laughter they stared at the door, and the knocking was heard again.

“Yes?” Taijina called out.

“My Lady his Lord is awaiting,” called the male voice from beyond the door.

“Let us go before you get me into deep trouble,” Mya whispered to her. Taijina only nodded as she was lead out of the room by Mya.

Sesshomaru sat at the end of the table doing his best not to tear anyone’s head off. Currently his brother and the Eastern Lord’s son were flinging insults back and forth, while Lady Mira of the South belittled the interior décor of the castle. He could feel a headache coming on and only hope Taijina would come down soon to distract him from this mess.

“Filthy wolf,” InuYasha growled as he leapt across the table and strangled the Eastern ward. When the Eastern Lord and Lady sent word their son would come in their place, as she was about to give birth to a new pup, Sesshomaru didn’t think it would be of consequence. However when the Eastern ward turned out to be Koga all hell broke loose.

“What in the moons is going on in here,” Taijina growled. Everyone stopped what they where doing to stare at the pissed off demoness in the door way. Koga and InuYasha held each other at the throat. Haikuya, the Southern lord gave her a small smirk, as Mira glared at her. Her mate, Heiamaru, the Northern Lord gave her a small apologetically smile, and Sesshomaru’s face was blank, but his eyes revealed his relief.

“This is the future Lady of the West,” Mira sneered, as she turned her eyes back to her mate. One word popped into Taijina’s mind to describe Mira, and that was snake. It fit her since she was a dragon demon. Her dark green hair was done up in some elaborate design, and Mira’s eyes looked like balls of fire. The lord and lady had matching dark blue silk kimonos on, and more gold then any one person should ever where. Not to mention Mira was covered in rubies as well. Dragons loved to show off their wealth.

“Indeed I am,” Taijina replied, head held high. Let down your guard around Mira and she would eat you alive. Heading toward her place at Sesshomaru’s left she let a small smirk cross her lips. “Although I expected more from you.”

“More what,” Mira sneered, and if looks could burn someone alive, Taijina would have been burnt to a crisp.

“Class,” she replied as she bowed to her lord, then took her seat. The room had gone quite, and Koga and InuYasha slinked off into their seats. Mira was a raging inferno, after all she was the one who gave insults not received them. “Greets Lord Heiamaru of the North, Lord Haikuya of the South, Lord Koga Ward of the East.”

Sesshomaru did his best to conceal a small smile coming to his lips. Not only had she entered a bad situation and took charge, she insulted Mira without anyone but Mira being offended. After all his mother and Mira would be at each other throats with insults that would have the whole room offended. He was starting to see why his father had chosen her, she was a natural.

A/N: I normally don’t write 2 authors notes in one chapter, but I wanted to explain one thing. I love Koga, he is the only man who can voice his feelings on the show and I think it is adorable so I figured out a cheap way of putting him into my fic. No worries he isn’t going to end up with Kagome, but someone needs to mess around with InuYasha’s mind since big bro is being nice for now. Remember I love reviews!!
