Truth

Instead of stepping out of the room like Sesshomaru thought she would, Kagome stepped into the room. A grin fell into place as he thought of some reasons why she could stay. It vanished as her scent reached him. She smelled hurt, angry, and slightly sad. Her ears swiveled in agitation, as she didn’t bother to mask her feelings.

“You didn’t have to lie to my mom,” she told him in a rather pained voice.

“What are you talking about, Kagome,” Sesshomaru asked in, what he hoped to be, a calming voice. “I don’t lie.”

“About us,” she answered furiously. “We have never talked about marriage or bonding or whatever!”

“Well, no,” Sesshomaru answered, sounding uncharacteristically hesitant. “But I thought with our children on the way-”

“I’m not going to bond to you because of them,” Kagome snapped. “Did you ever think I wanted to be with someone who loves me?”

“Oh, gods above,” Sesshomaru whispered. Quickly closing the distance between them, he pulled Kagome into his arms. Gently, he wiped away the tears that had escaped and laid his forehead on hers. “Is that what this is about? Kagome, I wouldn’t expect you to bond someone who didn’t love you.”

“Then why are you assuming I will bond to you,” she asked, not quite catching on.

“Because I love you, koi,” he finally admitted to her. “I’ve loved you since the first month you spent at my manor.” Sesshomaru suddenly gave her a very serious look. “And I won’t ask you to live bonded to me unless you feel the same.” He kept his mask free of any signs of anticipation or anguish, but he needn’t have worried. Kagome’s reaction was instant.

“Of course I love you,” she announced as she threw her arms around his neck. Sesshomaru spun her around as she laughed in delight.

“Then you’ll bond to me,” he asked to make everything certain. For her answer, Kagome pulled him into a tender kiss. Tears spilled from her eyes again, but this time, they were droplets of joy.

Sesshomaru gently broke the kiss to wipe the tears away. Abruptly he pulled her tight against him. The kiss was just as soft, but much more passionate and wanting. Kagome felt herself melt against him. A small moan escaped her lips, almost inaudible to any ears but a demon’s.

Sesshomaru growled deep in his chest as he felt her response to him and smelled her arousal. Pulling her into his arms bridal style, Sesshomaru laid Kagome gently on the bed, never breaking the spellbinding kiss. Clothes were soon shed and Sesshomaru gave Kagome one of his rare smiles as he ran a loving hand over her swollen stomach.

Kagome shivered under the familiar touch. At the tingle that passed over her skin, Sesshomaru moved his hand lower. Kissing her stomach once before returning to kiss her bruised lips, he muffled her moans with his mouth as he stroked her mound in slow, agonizing movements.

Kagome’s hips started to buck slightly on their own at her lover’s patient attention. Wanting to show Sesshomaru how much she craved him, Kagome allowed her hands-that had been gripping his upper arms-to trail down his body to his lower regions. Sesshomaru gave a slight growl when her warm hands started to stroke him, firmly and insistently. He didn’t last long with this torture.

Not wanting to cum anywhere but inside her, Sesshomaru pulled his hand away from its attentions and moved away from her appeasing special treatment. Kneeling over her, Sesshomaru slowly lowered himself into her. He had to prop himself up carefully on his arms to avoid applying pressure to her sensitive stomach. His rhythm was slow and patient as he watched his love reach her peak again and again. She had taken a small corner of the sheet to bite on to stifle her moans and to help keep from biting her lip.

Sesshomaru could feel himself reaching his peak, quickly. Speeding up just enough for his sensitive partner to reach her orgasm, Sesshomaru bit his lip to stifle to groan that escaped his mouth as her wet caverns milked him dry. Catching himself before he collapsed on her, he rolled to the side. Kagome was breathing irregularly and her heartbeat was doing a vicious tap dance in her chest.

“You can’t sleep in here, koi,” Sesshomaru whispered softly.

Kagome turned to him and smiled slightly at the soft tone. Nodding her consent reluctantly, Kagome slipped back into her clothes and left for her room. It was well into the wee hours of the morning when she crept back into the darkened area. Rin was sprawled over the bed so Kagome made a pallet on the floor. As she stared at the ceiling, she thought on how life would be in the feudal area. Right now she was enjoying all the things she used to dream about with Inuyasha, but Sesshomaru was the one making it real and the one it felt right with. Her first love’s brother and greatest enemy had turned out to be her true love.

Unknowingly, Kagome’s hand lay on her stomach. She could almost feel the life inside her squirm about. Kagome continued to reflect as she hummed softly. She thought of all her friends fondly, even after all the hurtful things they had done. She missed them all, but Rin and Sesshomaru helped a lot. They kept her too occupied to worry about the group for too long and the fact that Shippo had chosen to be with her helped.

Eventually, Kagome drifted off to sleep; her dreams filled with Sesshomaru’s baritone laughter and the gurgling sound of babies.

A/N: Oh, I forgot to mention! They saw a shadow on the ultrasound behind my baby. The doctor said it might be a second one!! YAY!! I love twins! Hence why I write about them. DUH. Anywho, school bus is en route!! TATA!!
