The Better Man

A/N: I'm not sure if I wrote it clearly but I meant for it to be understood that everyone had died. Naturally Shippo and Kirara would have been with Sango and Miroku. And Rin stated that she came back and they were all gone. Which means Shippo and Kirara also, if not they would have been there with her still. So sorry, there is no Shippo in the story.


Chapter Fifteen


Kagome left her keys with her mother and packed up enough clothes for both of them. Shizuru had called and said for them to stay with her and Kuzuma. Which was fine with both girls, since Kagome didn't trust the fox to behave himself. Rin said she didn't care as long as they didn't attack her again. Kagome had to pull her away from the television long enough to find some clothes that would fit her. She turned out to be a little taller than Kagome and not as busty.

Kuwabara would be there in a few to pick them up. He would be Kagome's ride back and forth to school. Either him or Keiko, which meant Yusuke would be in the car. She felt like her personal space was about to be invaded severly.

Someone knocked on the door and she closed the suitcase. "Let's go." Rin followed her down the stairs and into the living room. Rin saw Kagome groan when she saw the two men standing in the doorway. Her eyes ran over both males, two from the other day. The first one was really tall, average looking with light red hair. The other had short black hair, today it fell in his face. Her eyes roamed over him for a few minutes, he was very attractive in her opinion.

"Hey, ready to go?" Kuwabara took the suitcase from her.

"Yep," She smiled at him, that odd stirring began in her stomach once more. This wouldn't do, she couldn't have a crush on him. He had a girlfriend, one of four years. That thought didn't seem to stop butterflies in her stomach. "Please tell me he's not going to be there."

"Oh yeah, Koenma wants Yurameshi there also. I'm not as strong as the other three so he wants one of the others there also. I figured you'd prefer him over the other two."

"Okay, you have a point." Kagome smiled at Yusuke, who lifted a brow. "Though I still don't forgive him for almost blowing up my friend."

Rin's head snapped up at that comment. "It was him?"

"Hey, it was an accident." Yusuke looked the girl over. She was glaring at him, so he glared back. His eyes fell to her lips suddenly, then roamed lower. She didn't have large breasts like the miko but they looked firm. His eyes caught hers again and she looked amused.

"Let's go you guys." Kuwabara interrupted the staring contest.


"What's suck and blow?"

Kagome broke out in laughter at the question, hearing it from Rin made it sound dirty. "It's a game. I can't believe you suggested it Shizuru."

The woman sat down beside Yusuke handing him another beer. After spending a month together all three women got to know each other fairly well. When Yusuke or Kuwabara weren't with their girlfriends they were there but usually that was at night after everyone was asleep.

"Yeah, I got something for you to suck." Yusuke laughed when a hand slapped him in the stomach.

"You couldn't handle it." Shizuru grabbed the card off the table. "One of you guys is going to have to swap though. Kuzuma needs to move, I won't have him sitting next to me."

Kurama happily swapped with him since it put him on the left of Kagome. "There that should be fine."

Kagome groaned outloud, didn't he ever give up? He was almost as bad as Kouga. "Try to suck face with me and I'll blow your ass away."

Yusuke got a kick out of the comment, served the fox right. "Alright lets get this thing started while I still have a buzz. I don't think I could handle accidently kissing Shizuru if I was sober."

Shizuru explained the rules to Rin and how to transfer the card to the next person. She started the game transfering the card to Yusuke, he leaned over and Rin was able to get it. Giving it to Kuwabara was a challenge but she managed.

Kagome got nervous when he lowered his head to give it to her, she caught it. Then turned her head to give it to Kurama, she felt him suck and blew. The card fell, he brushed his lips across hers. She shoved him away, "You did that on purpose."

"An accident." He smiled and picked the card up. He started the chain again satisfied for now.

"Alright fox, control yourself and actually play." Yusuke yelled at him.

They began again, it went around the circle five more times. Kagome leaned up to take it from Kuwabara, she made the mistake of looking into his eyes. She felt the card touch her lips then it fell, his lips brushed across hers. Her eyes closed and she leaned into it, his lips were soft and inviting.

"I think I've had one too many, cause I'm seeing shit."

Yusuke's voice caused her to pull back blushing. She stood up suddenly, "Think its time for me to head to bed."

"So how was your first kiss bro?"
