Chapter Thirteen


Kagome let the soft breeze blow across her cheeks as the tears came. One would think that after two years she wouldn't have anymore tears. It had been so long since she'd seen any of them. Should she ask Koenma what had become of her friends? There was no doubt in her mind that Miroku and Sango were gone, they were human after all. Where was Shippo, Kouga, or Sesshoumaru, were they still alive?

"How ya feeling?" Mai stepped outside taking a seat on the concrete. She left the door open incase anything happened.

"Okay, hell who am I kidding I'm not okay. Some night this turned out to be." Kagome wiped the tears off her cheek.

"So, who are you crying for?"

"All of my old friends but mostly him. I never got to say goodbye, I tried but it happened so quick." Kagome began to tell Mai of her adventure through the well. They were engrossed in her tale so they didn't notice they had an audience. She spoke of all her friends, of trying to find Naraku but mostly she spoke of Inuyasha.

"You really loved him didn't you?" Mai wondered how she must have felt being torn from him.

"Yes, I still do. I would give anything to see him just one more time. I think I know that there was no way for us to have a life together now." Kagome sighed, it wasn't meant to be.

"I see, are you ready to move on yet?" Mai was curious. It was obvious Hiei had taken a slight interest in her.

"Tough question, maybe. No matter what happens I'll always love him. Then again I don't want to spend my life alone, I wanna be happy."

"That's true, who wants to stay a virgin forever." Mai laughed as Kagome turned red. "Not to sound like Tar, but I don't want to die a virgin."

"That sounds exactly like her." Kagome smiled. "You could always cross your fingers, maybe Kurama will help you out there."

"Well, since you are on the subject." Kurama spoke from behind them. Mai felt like shrinking into the cracks and Kagome turned to glare.

"You shouldn't eaves drop, it isn't polite." She yelled at him.

"Sorry, I didn't think it was a closed conversation considering all the others were listening as well." He pointed to the men hanging around the stairway, more than close enough to hear them. "I came to inform you that Tar has woken up and Koenma is asking that everyone keep the information concerning Genkai a secret for now. Let Genkai tell the girl on her own."

"Fine, bunch of nosey males." They got up and went to check on their friend.

Taree met them at the bedroom doorway all smiles. "Hey guys, is everyone okay?"

"Yes, how do you feel?" Kagome wanted to turn around and demand that Hiei stop staring at her. What the hell is his problem?

"Great, are we ready?" She went down the stairs acting like nothing out of ordinary had taken place. Yusuke was standing at the bottom watching her come down. Their eyes caught as she came to a stop, the smile left her face. "What? Why are you glaring at me like that?"

"Where the hell do you think you are going?"

"Home silly, where else would I go this late at night?" She crossed her arms in front of her. What the hell is his problem?

"You aren't going anywhere, your ass is staying here." He demanded. "You can't go back to that place, try thinking of someone besides yourself."

"What are you blabbering about?" Why couldn't she go home, she felt fine from her fainting spell.

"What's the last thing you remember?" Mai grabbed her shoulder.

"Let's see Touya and I went to see about the cat. Then we talked on the way back here, then... waking up with Red standing over me. Why?"

"You gotta be shitting me, you don't remember getting attacked?" At her confused look, Mai continued. "We were attacked, you were almost killed Taree. Whatever did it is still out there and will be coming back, for you and Kagome. I've already called Mr. Sinato and told him about what happened. We can't go home Tar, doing so would put all the children in danger."

"Uhhhh, then where are we going to go?" She didn't want to find a nice box to sleep in.

"You'll be staying here for now, it's already been arranged. Mai and I will be going in the morning to collect your things." Kurama informed her.

"No thanks Red, I don't spend the night with guys my friend likes." Tar felt an elbow ram her side. "Ouch, dammit!"

"All three of you will be staying here. Yusuke and Hiei will be staying also, they will take the pull out sofa. You three can take the spare bedroom." Kurama closed the front door, locking up for the night.

The three were shown upstairs into the bedroom for the night. The carpet was a light blue color and the walls an off white. The decorations were nicely done, not something from your typical bachelor. There was one large dresser against one wall and a nightstand beside the bed. It contained a light blue lamp and an alarm clock.

Kagome layed across the bed, "I get an outside. I refuse to be stuck in between you two."

"No fair, I know you two are going to stick me in the middle. I'll get stuck between Kagome's talking and Mai's snoring." Tar jumped beside Kagome. "Wait, I got an excellent idea. Mai can share a bed with Kurama, I'm sure he won't mind."

"Don't make me rip your head off. I don't want to share a bed with him."

"Sure," They said in unison.

"I'm not sure if I can deal with being stuck with you two around a bunch of guys." Mai sat on the edge and took her shoes off.

"She doesn't wanna admit that she likes him." Tar was talking to Kagome ignoring the blonde. "I'll make a bet with you. I say she bones him before a week is out."

"Hmmm, you might be right but what the hell I'll take that bet. What's the stakes?"

"Dinner and a movie, loser forks the bill." They shook hands.

"Screw both of you, I don't plan on sleeping with anyone." Mai pulled her socks off. Kurama hadn't even touched her yet but..., "Like you got room to talk Kagome. I heard Chu talking, I wasn't the one slipping someone the tongue."

"What!" Tar skrieked and gawked at her. "Who were you frenching? Wait, I got it. HIEI!" She screamed his name, it echoed throughout the room. "Oh my, how was it? Was it soft? Sloppy? He any good at it? Did you get to cop-a-feel?"

She buried her face in the pillow, she was going to kill the lush. How was she going to get out of this one, Tar began to jump on the bed demanding answers she wasn't ready to give. Maybe she could pretend that she fell asleep.

"I don't think so girl, come on we want the juicy details. How good is he with his tongue?"

Mai swatted at the girl, "He kissed her, he didn't eat her snatch."

"Oh my, I am so leaving this room. I can't believe you two." Kagome stood and turned to the door. Mortification filled her at seeing the little fire youkai standing in the doorway. "Kill me now."

"Oh hi Hiei, we were just talking about you." Tar smiled at him, "But I'm sure you already know that."

"Hn."

Kagome suddenly found a spot on the carpet that was very interesting. Such a pretty color of blue, wonder who did his decorating. 'Ignore him, maybe he'll go away. This carpet sure is soft, someone shot me.'

"Everyone else has left for now, Yusuke and I will be downstairs if you need anything." He informed them and turned to walk back down.

"Do everything I would do." Tar shouted.

"Don't tell him that, I'm sure Kagome doesn't want her new man kissing all over Yusuke." Mai waited for both yells.

"He's not my man." "I wouldn't kiss him."

"And you two say I'm in denial." Mai went and shut the door, just to make sure there were no more interruptions. "Now, we want the details Kagome."

"Details, details." Tar chanted folding her legs under her. "Would you kiss him again? Between us I think Touya is kind of cute, not as cute as Yusuke though. Yusuke is a jerk but has a nice ass."

"Leave it to you to check out their asses." Kagome sat back down, leaning against the headboard.

"Of course after checking out the face, the ass is always next. Now, I'll tell you girls who I think has an awesome bod." Tar decided to give her opinion on all the men. "Kuwabara looks to have an awesome build, you would just need to put a bag over his head and plaster a picture of Kurama's face on it. Now Red, is extremely hot with an awesome rear. Makes me kind of jealous of Mai."

"I don't know, he's kind of too hot you know." Kagome stated. "I don't want a man prettier than me but I guess Mai doesn't have that problem."

"True true, now Hiei. He is kind of short and small but looks to have a nice bod. He also has that aura about him to, that 'I-Don't-Give-A-Fuck' attitude; which kind of makes one want to jump on him. Kagome knows what I mean. Yes, I can just picture how he would be in bed."

Mai chirped in, "Yeah, he looks the type to take you from behind, grabbing your hips the whole while. Yusuke?"

"Hmmm, I'd say hard and fast, no foreplay." Tar tried to think, gnawing on her lower lip. "Now, Kurama. I'd have to say he looks the type to take his time with the woman. Lots of foreplay, very tender in the sack. I guess you'll have to let us know Mai."

"Whatever!" She gave the girl her middle finger. "How bout the others?"

"Touya, I'd say enough foreplay to get the woman wet then slow at first and when they both got worked up hard and fast. Chu, I'd say he can't get it up. Rinku is just a kid and I'm not sure about the other guy. Oh and I doubt Kuwabara knows what a vagina is." Tar waited on any other opinions.

"I can't believe we are discussing how the guys below would be in bed." Kagome rolled to her stomach. She didn't want to think about Hiei being naked. "As entertaining as this conversation is, I think we need to get some sleep."
