Safe Again

Rin felt elated when she spotted the familiar estate come into view from the sky. She could see a few people waiting outside for them. They landed in front of everyone and Kurama quickly released her. Kagome ran forward throwing herself at both men. Rin smiled as they held her, she envied the girl. They both petted her and reassured her they were safe. Kagome didn't seem to want to let go.

"Rin."

She spun around, Sesshoumaru was walking towards. "Yes, my lord." Her eyes landed on Hiei who was looking towards Kagome and the others. Her heart sunk at the knowledge, she quickly put a smile back on her face.

"Are you injured?"

"Nope, I wasn't hurt." If you didn't count the fact that she'd just been kicked in the heart. "I am well."

He stopped in front of her, "There is dried blood on your neck, what happened."

A grin split her face. "Oh Kurama cut me with the knife." Oops, that didn't sound too good now that she thought about it.

Sesshoumaru started growling and glared towards the fox.

"Oh, not like that. We were acting so we could get out. He didn't really hurt me. Rin told him it was okay." She put a hand on his chest, getting nervous.

"How did you escape?"

"They took me as a hostage." She beamed. Oops!

"Explain now fox before I kill you both."

Kurama sighed, really she needed to learn to explain things better. "To make it short. Kuronue and I were stuck in the basement undable to do a damn thing. Rin found her way down to us, killed the jailer. Then informed us to take her as a hostage. Kado had informed his men to make sure she wasn't harmed. So it worked out rather well."

"I see."

"See my lord. Can I go in, its getting cold?" She needed to get back in her room and away from Hiei. He'd yet to even glance in her direction. "Oh, is Yukina okay?"

"She is find and inside." Hiei looked at her then.

"Okay, I'll go check on her." She turned on her heels and walked off. She was greeted inside by Shizuru and Keiko. They hugged her, glad to see her okay. "Where is Yukina?"

"Oh, she's resting, I'll take you to her." Rin let them walk her to one of the spare bedrooms. The small girl was sitting up in the bed looking out the window.

She smiled when she saw Rin come in."Rin, you are back."

"Yes, how are you feeling?" She looked at the girl and wished she could hate her. Yet the feeling never rose. She'd known that the two had feelings for each other. No one told her to be an idiot and start to care for him. Besides Yukina was a wonderful person, she deserved someone special. And as far as Rin was concerned Hiei was very special.

"I'm a little sore but alive thanks to you."

"I didn't do anything." She stood up, "I'm a little tired, maybe we can speak later."

"I'd like that."

Sesshoumaru waited for Rin to walk inside then turned to the little fire youkai standing not far from him. He turned and walked past him stopping so he was sure to hear every word. "Once, Kado has been disposed of you and I shall have a little chat."

"Hn."

Sesshoumar walked inside to find Ayame. She'd want to know that Rin was home. He also had to inform her of this new development before she discovered it on her own. All he needed was his mate losing her temper and trying to kill the fire youkai. He smelt it as soon as he got close to his ward. She was no longer pure. At first he'd been worried that Kado had raped her, then he noticed the lingering scent of the fire youkai on her. Plus, the way she kept glancing over in his direction was all the proof he needed.

First, he would learn the man's intentions. If they were anything but noble he would soon find himself without his troublesome appendage. Then if he had forced Rin, Sesshoumaru would gladly tear his heart out and feed it to him. If Rin had consented and wanted a relationship with him, they'd cross that bridge when they got there. Though, the fire youkai would still get a sound beating regardless.

Ayame brought her hand down once more on the back of Kouga's head. "Stupid idiot. What are you playing at?"

"Stop that dammit." He scowled at her.

"No, I'm hoping to knock some sense into that thick skull of yours. What were you thinking sleeping with her?" Ayame had smelt Kouga all over the tall human girl the minute they had arrived. "What are you going to do if Akita finds out. She's here by the way."

"Like I care what she thinks. She fucks everything with a dick except me. She can go to hell."

"Once again thinking of yourself. Are you forgetting that girl is human. Just because she doesn't want you, it doesn't mean she will step aside for another woman to have you. Mark my word if Akita finds out she will go after the human. Shes that type."

"Hmph, that would be fun to watch. Akita needs her ass kicked one good time." He smiled at the thought of his mate trying to run over his lover. That she-bitch will be in for a rude awakening. He thought of Shizuru as exactly that, his lover. He planned on having her again, soon. He didn't care if his so called mate liked it or not. If she tried to interfere he'd kill the bitch, leaving him free to claim Shizuru. He smiled at that thought, yep he'd have fun trying to tame her.

Sesshoumaru walked in, "Rin is home."

Ayame smiled at him, "Is she okay? I'll go see her."

"Wait, before you go I need to speak to you."

"Can't it wait?" She asked.

"No, leave Kouga." Sesshoumaru looked at the male wolf.

"Why, its not like you are going to tell her something I don't already know." He said. This will be fun to see. "I'm sure everyone can smell that fire youkai all over Rin."

"What!" Ayame turned a deadly glare at him.

"Don't look at me I didn't touch her, he did." Kouga took a step back. Okay, its shoot the messenger time.

"Kouga leave now." Sesshoumaru waited until he walked out. "He's lucky he's your friend. Its true, Rin has been with Hiei."

"You let him soil her."

"Like he would have touched her if I was there. Not yell at me." He sighed trying to calm his mate before she went on another tirade. "I think we need to accept it. She's over five hundred years old, I think its more than time for her to find a mate."

"But its Rin."

"Yes, I'm well aware of whom we are speaking." He snapped.

"Don't take that tone with me." She snapped back. He took a step backwards. "Where is he?"

"You will not speak of it until Kado has been taken care of. I have already given him warning, though I think I should let you have a go at him."

"Oh, I will you can count on it."

Rin was laying on her bed staring at the ceiling, it felt good to be back in her own room. Shizuru knocked on the door seconds before entering. "Hello, Shizuru."

"Hey, I wanna take a look around this place. Would you be willing to give me a tour?"

"Sure," She stood up and walked with her out the door. "By the way, you are loud."
