Inu Yasha clenched his teeth, rising to his feet and opened his mouth to speak. “Where is he?” He questioned.
Kagome blinked.
“Where is he Kagome?...You can see him?...Tell me where he is and I'll destroy him!” He screamed as he unsheathed Tetsiega and stepped forward.
“Inu Yasha no!” She cried as the hanyou slashed wildly around the room.
“Tell me Kagome!” He screamed once more as he stared into the young girl's eyes. “Where is he?!?!”

“I can’t!” Kagome cried as warm tears ran down her flushed cheeks.
“Why not?” Inu Yasha demanded, his tone losing a little of it’s harshness as he noticed the tears falling from the trembling girl’s eyes.
Kagome lowered her face, staring into the floor as she whispered, “I love him.”
Inu Yasha fell to the ground with a thump as his face turned pale. He stared at the young girl sitting before him, unable to speak. He could see the shame she held back, and the sadness she was unable to control. He hesitantly began to question Kagome. “Does this mean I’ll never see you again?” The thought panicked Inu Yasha more then any demon ever had.
Kagome looked up into Inu Yasha’s eyes and then over her shoulder to her unseen mate. She nodded her head a couple of times smiling as she seemed to be agreeing with something Sesshoumaru had said, but Inu Yasha was still unable to hear. “I can still be with you Inu Yasha,” Kagome began and she grasped the hanyou’s hand. “And Mirokou and Sango and Shippo, but you have to understand, my heart will always return here.”
Inu Yasha nodded slowly as he realized what Kagome was saying. He slowly covered her hand with his as he spoke softly, “As long as I have you as a friend, I can survive almost anything.”
Kagome smiled sweetly at Inu Yasha, she could tell that he was torn up inside, but that he was being honest with her. Somehow, as long as they can stay friends, it would all work out.
“Thank you, Inu Yasha.” She gleamed as she leaned in and hugged the hanyou tightly.
Kagome turned away from Inu Yasha as Sesshoumaru growled softly. “Shhhh,” she whispered as she placed a finger against the demon lord’s lips. She wrapped her arms around her mate’s neck as she stood on her toes. “I don’t understand, why can’t he see you yet?” She questioned as she stared affectionately into her lover’s eyes.
Sesshoumaru stroked the young miko’s hair lightly. “He will, when he is ready.”
Kagome looked back to Inu Yasha. ‘It’s still too painful.’ She thought as she released her beloved. She smiled down at Inu Yasha as she walked to the window, knowing that with time, her spell would fade, and as it did, she would then know that Inu Yasha had finally accepted her relationship with Sesshoumaru. ‘I look forward to that day.’ She thought.
