Four months later


Kagome was soundly asleep.

Her eyes flew open and she started awake as a jolt of realization hit her. The time!

Glancing over at the clock, she saw that it was past nine already. Oh hell, she was going to be late!

She attempted to sit up, but a strong masculine arm pulled her closer to a hard, naked chest. Clouds of silver hair obscured her vision as she was pressed onto her back in a fluid motion. Drowsy but he amb amber eyes peered down at her.

“Going somewhere?” Sesshoumaru purred against her throat and he nuzzled her behind her left ear. Her back arched up in response and she could feel the hot length of him pressed against her center.

“I-I uh, mmm, uh…stop that! I have to go to work!”

“Not today you don’t,” Sesshoumaru replied, laving her shoulder and neck with the heat of his tongue followed by his teeth.

She reared up to pro but but he skillfully kissed her to quiet her down. Kagome groaned, as he expertly tantalized her senses, his large hands securing her and caressing her sides and stroking the undersides of her breasts. Her nipples were already flushed and aching and the searing wetness gathering between her thighs alerted her to the annoying-but pleasurable-fact he had won again.

“Are you trying to get me fired?” She managed to gasp out, wrapping her free arm around his neck. The huge canary diamond on her hand glinted in the early sunlight casting reflections on the bedroom wall.

“They can’t fire you on Saturday, Kagome,” he replied, his deep voice laced with amusement. He pushed his thigh between her legs, and rubbed against her.

“Yes, but I promised Sango I would go with her today to help pick out her wedding dress.” Kami, how could she think when he was doing this to her body and mind?

She’d been so happy that not only had Sango accepted her new position but that Miroku had been offered on at the same facility for his residency. Due to the fact the couple would be leaving soon, an informal small wedding had been planned at the end of the month. She was the maid of honor; Kikyou and Rin were the bridemaids, Inuyasha was best man, while Sesshoumaru and Kohaku had been asked to be groomsmen.

It was their new beginning after surviving deceit, treachery and attempted murder.

Sesshoumaru had proposed to Kagome after Naraku and Kagura’s arraignment.

Rin won several awards and was widely acknowledged for her coverage of the story. As a result, her show sky rocketed and was guaranteed a two year contract. She was also reading several scripts for a few movie offers.

Kohaku took on an extra job to help pay off his gambling debts. He was a key figure in the investigations concerning Naraku’s charges of racketeering and exploitation of his casino guests.

Kouga had made a cunning plea bargain with the prosecutor and got off by doing urban community service. Thankfully, he and Ginta had used the dumb waiter to escape the building and alert the police that everyone else was still trapped inside. He had used his own funds to bury Dean, the old derelict who’d generously helped them and lost his life. Kouga volunteered at soup kitchens and shelters. Currently, he warkinrking on a food drive and housing for the homeless. He was almost frightening in his newly discovered altruistic outlook.

Not to mention he’d become a devoted husband and family man.

Ayame had prematurely given birth to a tiny baby girl. The stress of Kouga’s disappearance and the attempt on his life had made the pregnancy difficult. Kagome declined their request that she be named godmother; it felt inappropriate to say the least.

Sesshoumaru had demanded that Kagome move in with him until their wedding which was only six months away. In the meantime, he planned to take advantage of the fact that she was right beside him for the rest of their lives. He wanted to make up for every moment he had caused her grief and pain.

Reaching out, he deftly flicked her nipples and sucked the tight nubbins into his mouth. He pressed against the blazing furnace of her body, until he was at the entrance of her sheath.

“I could stop now if you think you’ll be late,” he purred into her ear, pressing further home into her welcoming body. He shifted his hips and rotated against her with exquisite skill, the rigid firmness of his erection teasing her folds and clit.

“Oh,” she moaned in arousal and embarrassment and forgot everything else.

“I’ll take that as a “no”,” Sesshoumaru murmured, his words groggy with desire. “I’ll drive you just to make sure you won’t be late.”

The only sounds afterwards were groans, cries and hisses of mutual pleasure and satisfaction as the sodden glide of their bodies brought them to ecstatic fruition.

Inuyasha was quickly walking across the polished white floors. He made a shortcut through the lobby, unaware of the admiring glances of the female patients, nurses and doctors.

He knocked on one of the side doors and waited for admittance.

“Come in. Ta. Taisho. We’re done,” the doctor called out.

Inuyasha eagerly stepped into the room, his eyes seeking out his new bride, who was almost four 1/2 months pregnant. Kikyou smiled as he hurried over to help her down from the examination table.

“Everything okay?”

The doctor nodded. “Your wife is in excellent condition, Mr. Taisho. We are fortunate that the bullet didn’t do serious-or permanent-damage. However, we just made a new discovery today.”

“Is something wrong? You just said-” Inuyasha’s jaw was stubbornly set as he advanced upon the little man who adamantly protested, “No, no!”

Kikyou grabbed him by the arm to stop him. “Inuyasha! I’m fine! Cease this!”

The doctor held up his hands with a nervous laugh. “I think I will leave you with Mrs. Taisho for now. I’m sure she wants to share the news with you.” He hastily exited the room.

Inuyasha studied Kikyou for several moments. His heart swelled with love. He could hardly believe that they’d been married for over a month. The day after Kikyou’s release from the hospital, they had gone down to City Hall. It had been a decision made based on not just their mutual love but by the fact they had delayed because of petty grievances between him and Sesshoumaru and everyone had almost died. The honeymoon was planned for a few months after the birth of the baby.

By the time they would arrive back home, it would be almost time for Sesshoumaru and Kagome’s wedding. Sometimes Inuyasha wondered if it was destiny that fateful evening he’d invited his Kagome, his best friend, to that charity ball

“Inuyasha?” Kikyou playfully waved her hand in front of his face.

“What?”

“Don’t’ you want to hear my news?”

“Nothing’s stopping you woman!”

“Well, my mother is coming to stay with us for a while.”

Inuyasha frowned. “I don’t thso, so, woman.”

“Inuyasha!”

He held up his hands in defeat. “Okay, okay.”

They strolled arm and arm towards the door.

“You’ll be glad she’s with us, my love. Twins are a lot of work.”

“What did you just say??”
