As they came to a stop in front of a house in desperate need of repairs, Jakotsu whistled as he surveyed the damage done by the recent storm as he slipped his hands into his gloves. “Believe it or not, this isn't even the worst damaged. We completed repairing that house yesterday,” the pastor explained as he stopped beside him and took in the work needing to be done as well. Noticing an older gentleman making his way over toward them, the pastor nodding his head in greeting before turning his attention back to Jakotsu.

“This is James Reese,” he explained, as the man nodded his head in greeting, before realizing something. “ I never introduced myself, did I? Everyone calls me Pastor Roku. What is your name?”

“Jakotsu,” he answered with a tilt of his hat in greeting to both of them.

“Good, now that that is out of the way, we should get to work. Do you know anything about working with tools?”

“I know the basics of hammering, but that's about it,” Jakotsu admitted with a shrug of his shoulders.

“That'll work,” the pastor decided as he handed Jakotsu a hammer and a bucket of nails from a pile of tools nearby, before grabbing a hammer for himself. “Follow me,” he instructed as he began making his way over to where a ladder was leaning up against the side of the house. Making his way up, he steps around the large hole in the roof and sat down on the far side of it. “Sit on that side of the hole and place the bucket of nails in between us,” he continued once Jakotsu had joined him on the roof.

Doing as instructed, Jakotsu realized that they would have to stretch a bit to reach the bucket from either side, but it was doable. “Are you ready?” the pastor inquired and, once Jakotsu nodded that he was, he called down, “We're ready for the first board, Franklin.” A moment later, a board could be seen peaking over the edge of the roof and Jakotsu put his hammer down in his lap as he grabbed it. Trying to keep it as steady as possible, Jakotsu lowered it over the hole as slowly as he could, but at the last second he lost his grip and it fell the last few inches to the roof; the resounding bang echoing around them.

“You will have to be a bit more careful than that,” the pastor mocked even as he reached for one of the nails. “We're supposed to be fixing the roof, not being the next coming storm to destroy it,” he teased as he began to hammer in the first nail. Sending his a halfhearted dirty look, Jakotsu picked his hammer back up and followed suit.
