Author's notes: This chapter is almost fully Shippou and Kanji. So be ready for that. There's also a lemon between them. So hope you guys like it.

Danabug: I hope Shippou is coming out good, I tried to imagine what he'd be like grown up after being raised by all the people around him, including Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha. In my head he wouldn't be the annoying brat any more but I tried to keep his fun talk back side still there.

Lord Youko: The heir thing really almost went the other way, but in the end I decided Emily, since I already know the personality their son is going to have, and realized Sesshoumaru would not want him in power. LOL Evil but true; And yeah Emily is a bit of a brat at some spots but what teenager isn't LOL. Sesshoumaru is slowly working it out of her. As for the council, yeah. He does have that power, and no he doesn't actually want them around. If it where up to him he'd get rid of the entire thing, but he can't cause the youkai people do want them there. So he's got to deal with them. In the next chapter i'll show just a bit more of how he's got to deal with the requests his people make of him, and you'll see just why the 'taking over Kanji's lands thing' will come back to bite him in the ass cause Kanji's lands are in a horrible state.

As for Sessh' honor, I don't know... I never saw him as having honor like in the way you're speaking. Sesshoumaru always did what ever he wanted, and he never did anything because some one else wanted him too. Even if it was to save people. The power he's got he's fought for. If it doesn't work for him to his advantage or satisfy something in him he just didn't bother. He didn't even start going after Naraku until Naraku went after Rin. After that it wasn't that killing naraku was the honorable thing to do, it was just revenge. LOL I love him, but he is supposed to be a bastard. With all that said he will try and find it so that Kanji will be happy cause he knows Inuyasha will worry for him. Cause Inuyasha has the good heart.

And yeah their relationship is messed up. It's supposed to be complicated, and confusing and just when you think you've figured it out another bomb drops. Read “BEFORE BITE BACK” if you haven't already. It explains the start of it. In this story Sesshoumaru loves Inu, more than Inu loves Sessh. Inuyasha at the start still has a bit of that 'I hate that I love you' thing going on, but he is ever so slowly loving Sessh. More and more.

Shippou had gotten into the inu's room. He motioned the servants to go away, and sat there on the edge of the bed looking down to the inu. He had to admit to himself that the guy was cute. Deep in his slumber Kanji felt a presence near him. Shippou laughed at that, and shifted back. “Calm down, My name is Shippou.” He said watching him. “Come on, sit. I won't bite... Yet...” He said giving his a fang filled smirk. Kanji wasn't sure what to think. He looked to the doors out of the room and looked to the fox. “I'm Inuyasha's son. Well, adopted son, But still i'm his son.” Shippou explained. “Sesshoumaru told me about you, and your deal. I'm curious, Do you still think it was the best move..?” Shippou asked.

Kanji sighed and came back over to the bed. He sat down resting his back against the headboard. “I don't know... But I couldn't rule. I didn't want too in the first place. My father forced me to pretend I was alpha because he had no other children and was too old to have more. The entire time I had to pretend I felt like I was dying from the inside out.” He said with a shrug. “Lord Sesshoumaru can rule very well. The demons the west are very prosperous, and happy. He's a good lord.” He said truthfully.

“Yeah, but... do you like him? I mean... To give your lands to him and all?” Shippou asked again just curious about the motives behind it all, since no one seemed to have asked the kid in the first place. He watched Kanji grin.

“You don't have to like a lord to know he's a good lord. You don't even have to stand him. I gave myself to him because there was no other choice. If I rejected his proposal I had to go back to being Lord. To pretending to be Alpha. The council and him would have forced me to either take a female for a mate, or take an alpha male as one since they already knew I had been topped by Inuyasha. They paraded all sorts of power hungry bastards in front of me, who would have driven my lands to the ground. If I took an alpha he would have gained my lands... And who knows what would have happened then. No... Lord Sesshoumaru is the best for my lands.” Kanji said. “Besides... This way I get the chance of being with Inuyasha.” He said. “If he ever lets me...”

He don't let anyone touch him while he's with him.” Shippou said getting closer while he was thinking. He reached out and touched that silk like hair all inu seemed to have. “I don't know... Why would you care?” Kanji asked not realizing that he was leaning into Shippou's touch. He didn't know what it was about the fox. He seemed nice. At least he was listening to him. No one had ever listened to him. Not even Inuyasha. He was being gentle too. He didn't seem power hungry either. Though he doubted Sesshoumaru would give his lands to this fox. So what could the fox be after?

Sesshoumaru smirked evilly to that. “I never lied to you 'Lord' Kanji. I told you Inuyasha 'MAY' please himself with you. That is intending that he wanted too do so. He does not want too. He wishes to be only mine from now on. I fully intend to allow him to do as he wishes. Do you think i'd force him to touch you?” Sesshoumaru asked.

“If you treat him like you treat me then I can't see how he even stands you?!” Kanji said and just shook his head and curled up into Shippou. The fox being the only support he had right then.

“Mark him, and keep him controlled. If he stays, I'll be sure to do it for you.” Sesshoumaru said turning putting the dildo to the side of the door.

“Lord Sesshoumaru! At least tell me my lands will be properly taken care off.” Kanji said sitting up.

“It will take work. Your father was an idiot. But I am already working to fix the mess he made.” Sesshoumaru said without turning back to look at Kanji right away. “Then... Everything... he said...?” Kanji asked looking from Sesshoumaru to Shippou.

“He is Inuyasha's son. He was raised by my mate from the time he was a very young kit. He was an orphan. You will have to deal with foul language. He picked it up from my mate. He loves playing tricks. But he will be a good mate.” Sesshoumaru said.

“Why would you even do this for me? Find me a good mate?” Kanji asked not understanding. He'd been ready to hate the bastard for life. But right now he didn't know what to make of him. He didn't know what to make of all this...

“Do not think I am doing this for you. You are both merely in my way.” Sesshoumaru said turning and leaving quickly. It was Shippou the one that noticed the look. He smirked softly, shaking his head. Why the demon lord hated when someone saw his good side was beyond him. Everything would be soo much simpler if he just acted truly on what he thought or felt. He knew the demon lord didn't really think he was in the way. Sesshoumaru had taken time out of his days to teach him to be strong, to teach him to fight along with Inuyasha when he was younger. Oh sure he'd do it by picking a fight with him, but after a couple of decades of his 'fake' fights and remembering everything he'd done to Inuyasha he started to realize what the demon lord was really doing. Not that he ever told him, cause after all he still wanted to keep learning, and he had a feeling if he blabbed that he knew his true motives he'd clamp up and never teach him anything again. He'd have to ask him later why he really cared what happened to Kanji. With Kanji it could truly be that he thought he was in the way. Leaving the ex-lord to him would be easier for him and Inuyasha. But for now it didn't matter.

“See, You can accept me. We can travel. Be free. No more lands, or councils, or shit to put up with. We can do what ever we want. Settle in where ever we want.” Shippou said with a smirk. Kanji just blushed looking to the fox, but did smile softly.

“What about Inuyasha? Is he really going to be alright with 'him'?” Kanji asked sighing, and laying down against Shippou.

“I really don't know... But Sesshoumaru is his mate. He's owned him for a long time before that. I know there's nothing you or anyone can do to help him even if he doesn't like what's happening. But it's not like Sesshoumaru would hurt him... I mean... He did try to kill him. But that was centuries ago. Personally I think Inuyasha has him wrapped around his little finger. Not that Sesshoumaru would ever admit it. Besides, it seems like justice to me.” Shippou said with a laugh, as he watched Kanji fall asleep again, this time doing so in his arms. The fox smirked and kissed his forehead, knowing he'd just gotten himself a very very good mate, and future birther to some very strong kits.

* TWO WEEKS LATER *

Shippou would have loved to have gotten Kanji away from Japan already. Taken him off to have fun with him somewhere else where Sesshoumaru wasn't constantly watching them both to see when they'd mate. While Emily had learned after a very harsh first lesson to just listen and learn quietly. Inuyasha didn't like it at all. But he knew one of his kids was unfortunately gonna receive these lessons. Cause one of them was gonna be named heir, He'd known it from the moment he'd first looked to Emily and saw her adorable face that reminded him of her father. He just kept wondering why Sesshoumaru had picked Emily. The demon never did explain his reasoning to him.

All this just left Shippou and Kanji trying to keep out of their way, It helped in 'the getting to know each other' part of their relationship.
