I Do NOT Own Inuyasha In Any Way Shape Or Form OR Profit From This Fic. . . Sadly. But I Do, However, Own My Thoughts And Stories! Enjoy, My Stories, I Mean! Hah! :D
13. Miracle In The Making
A/N: I really love having to restart my stories because my sister is deeply inconsiderate. Heaven forbid I leave OpenOffice on the task-bar while she watches pug videos on YouTube. Sheesh.
Anyway, now that I am over myself, I would like to say thank you to all who reviewed, good or bad, I appreciate your time! Now! There is a little thing I would like to point out to all you on FF. I don't know how many of you have stories you've posted (I creep on some of ya'll's pros, but not all, so Idk if you all do or not lol) but, FanFiction's Document Uploader has this nasty habit of eating my quotation marks and other random characters. I dunno if the creators of FF don't feed it or what, but if you ever see one of my chappies horribly punctuated (as in without quotes, paragraph-breaking-bar-thingies, apostrophes, etc., drop me a hint, message, im, review, lemme know and I'll repost it.) I have already had to fix nearly all of the chapters because of this. HOWEVER! The spelling is all me. (None of my friends know I write this, so I am on my own.) (Psssst! I fixed the spelling mistakes in 'Mine,' btw!) And there is a thing I do, that I wanted to share with you guys, with words like, 'humour,' and 'colour.' As you can see, there is the 'u' there and it's a habit. It just looks correct to me spelled like that, so if you think that is an error, it's not and I'm sorry. So, I think I have covered all that. I hope that made it a little better, Kagome past and present; thankies for your review..^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.
Chapter 13~ Miracle In The Making
.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.
Kagome's incoherent murmurs and constant attempts to mold herself into the side of his body roused Inuyasha from his sleep. Opening one golden eye, he peeked at her face. As if it was possible, she was even more breath-taking than yesterday. His lips twitched upward at the corners. Maybe that was because she was well-loved? Maybe because she was now his? His Kagome. It had an extremely nice ring to it. The hanyou blinked both eyes open to get a better look. With her arm slung unconsciously across his chest and the other curled under her with the small fist at the end of it pressed to her lips, she looked innocent; soft. Unlike Kikyou, who, in the morning, was always gone or as far away from him as the bed would let her get. Comparison between the two was wrong, but Inuyasha couldn't believe how good he had it at that moment. Emotions he never knew existed had surfaced. Such as the over-whelming sense of possessiveness and the pride, the happiness. It was amazing. Didn't matter if their time of reunion was short. Time is just numbers. The affections crossing over that time were what mattered to him. And, even more importantly, to her. He felt her shift again and slid her leg further up in between his, seeking warmth as if it wasn't hot enough already. The hanyou chuckled. She was a leech in her sleep. He almost didn't want to wake her, but the morning after was the most important part, the reaction from her, and the miko wasn't allowed to wake up at her own leisure; Inuyasha wanted to be her alarm clock. But first. He eased out of the bed and made a quick trip to the bathroom, careful to look for any family members, to clean himself up. Her virgin blood was still there, as was his . . . Evidence of their union, yet he still felt guilty that he hurt her. The hanyou did a quick wipe down then snuck back into her bed. He waited a moment, then, brushing a tendril of black silk from her face, he pressed his lips softly to her forehead. “Mm.” Kagome stirred and moved slightly throwing the limb back across his chest. For a moment, he thought she was going to swat at him, but instead she just stilled once more. Inuyasha nuzzled her hair, whispering, “Kagome, wake up,” tenderly. Blue eyes blinked open, then shut again against the light streaming in from her window. She was in her old room. Was that just a really long dream? But Inuyasha was . . . Images from the night before made a raging blush spread across her cheeks. The hanyou sensed this, and got a good whiff of faint arousal. This caused him to smirk into her hair, but let it drop off his face when she pulled back and sat herself up on her knees next to his torso. Her breasts bobbed enticingly above him and his eyes darkened; she saw it. Kagome folded her arms, much to his displeasure, and relief, to hide them. “Good morning . . .” He said slowly, breaking the silence while fighting with his eyes to keep them from trailing down to the visible patch of curls in between her legs. Aggravated with his male mindset, he sat up as well, catching a glimpse of the nicks and hickeys he’d left on her skin. Another flash of guilt. “Are you okay?” The question was the one every man who is lucky enough to be a woman’s first should ask. Inuyasha was deeply worried that he had hurt badly her though, especially with the way he used her body. Kagome’s skin’s flush deepened. “I’m a bit sore, but . . .” She paused, leaning down to kiss his full lips chastely, “It was amazing, ‘Yash. Thank you.” Unable to form a decent response at the moment, the hanyou grunted and simply kissed her back. Then found his tongue. A red hue tinting his cheeks now, he quickly muttered, “That was more than just amazing. I’ll let ya know when I think of another word.” Feeling the response was too feminine, he finished with, “I think you broke my nuts.” “I’m sure they’ll be fine.” Kagome giggled, crawling out of the bed before padding over to her closet, obviously comfortable with her nudity. If she would’ve tried to act shy, he would’ve gotten aggravated. He’d seen every inch of her flesh and enjoyed it immensely; there was no reason to keep it from him. His eyes glued to her ass as it swayed over to the closet. Best ass he’d ever seen. All his.
“What are you doing?” He asked, his smug grin even blatant in his words. Kagome stopped and pulled open her old closet’s white, double doors. “Getting clothes?” The miko didn’t bother to turn to give her answer with her ‘um, duh’ expression, but instead began groping around on the top shelf for the yellow back pack of clothes she’d always kept for the unexpected nights she spent with her family. Inuyasha rolled his eyes and plopped back on the pillows. “For what?” That made her turn, the bag now in hand. “Inuyasha.” She said his name sternly, sounding like his mother when she was about to give him a lecture. His eyes did another summersault, yet Kagome continued, having not noticed. “I have no doubt in my mind that my mother knows what happened last night –stop with that grin, it’s not funny- and I don’t think going downstairs naked would be a good idea.” The hanyou, his grin only wilting on one side, shrugged. “Okay,” He sat up, stretched his arms up in the air, then stood . . . in all his naked glory. Kagome’s face light up like the Tanabata festival. “then I think you should find me some clothes too.” He stated, noting her reaction. Still so innocent. The hanyou’s eyes darkened and his grin widened. “Kagome, c’mere for a sec. I think you have something in your hair.” The miko started, jolted out of her trance, her hand automatically reaching up to her mass of black locks. “Where.” Inuyasha, utterly amused, continued to jest her. “No, to the left. No. Right- Just come here.” He faked a sigh and reached a hand out. Kagome obediently stepped towards it and as soon as she was in his reach, he snatched her arm and used it to crush her to him, his mouth crashing down on hers. She swooned, her knees turning to water, limp fingers dropping the bag. The kiss wasn’t demanding like last night’s. It was possessive, persuasive. Not breaking the lip lock, the hanyou spun them around and lifted her up easily before plunking her down on her desk. A tin cup of writing utensils spilled, but neither noticed. Inuyasha had a hand on one of her breasts, pinching the hardened pink tip, while his other hand snaked down in between her legs, gently drawing a horizontal line over and over again between her slick folds. He wasn’t going to have sex with her for at least a day or two, but touching her was okay. As long as it didn’t send him spiraling back into that demonic mess. He would be cautious. Kagome’s fingers knotted in the hanyou’s silvery mane, pulling him to her while her lower belly twisted at the sensations running through her nervous system. She moaned low in her throat and tried to move her hips forward, dragging her lips from his to catch her breath while hiding her face in his shoulder. Inuyasha’s blood raced. His eyes going down to her neck instinctively. Her hair was flipped to the back and he could clearly see her pulse skitter under the hickey marred skin. Heat. Last night the two of them were on fire, and now they could both feel that little spark of heated need between them ignite once again. “Inuyasha . . .” Kagome murmured his name, when his finger moved up to circle her sensitive nub. The hanyou bent forward and nuzzled her neck, inhaling her sweet scent. His mind clouded, as did his judgment. For a moment, he forgot why he was supposed to be careful and began lavishing her neck’s pale flesh with his tongue, wringing yet another throaty groan from the languid woman. A knock at the door had him jumping away, while Kagome scrambled off the desk and back to the bed. Inuyasha hesitated, looked back between his miko and the door. She hissed his name and he hopped back onto the bed, fighting his way under the covers. She moved next to the wall and he stayed on the edge of the bed. There was another knock and Mrs. Higurashi's voice, asking, “Are you two up?” The pair shut their eyes and played possum.
.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.
Kagome's mother stared at the door, a small grin on her face. She had heard them alright. Last night and just now. Even heard them scramble to break up whatever they had going on. So, when she opened the door, it wasn't a surprise to see them in the bed with a lot of space between them. Mrs. Higurashi set Kagome's clothes from her last stay on the chair along with an old pair of her husband's jeans and a tee for Inuyasha. Another look at them had her hoping that, in the future, of course, that gap in the bed would be occupied by her grandchildren.
.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.
The door clicked closed and both pairs of eyes snapped open. The miko began to giggle hysterically while Inuyasha grinned in amusement at her. “It's not funny.” He chuckled, kicking the blanket off of them and rolling on top of her. He kissed her, and when he pulled back she fell into another fit of laughter. “Y-You're gonna get us in trouble!” Kagome accused, pushing half-heartedly at his chest. The hanyou tried to sigh, but he could only smile. “You're the screamer.” He tossed back, getting off of her when she attempted to glare at him. The only problem with it was that her lips involuntarily curved into a smile. “If your face sticks like that, then I am going to be laughing at you for the rest of my life.” Kagome's expression twisted into a pout as she watched him move across the room, his slight erection making her fight with her line of sight. “Those were my dad's.” She blurted out when he picked up the jeans. Inuyasha didn't say anything, but looked at the rest of the clothes. “How come you get underwear and I don't.” He huffed. The miko cocked her head in question then went over to see what he was talking about. Her bra and panties were there but no men's underwear. She let out a very unlady-like snort that had the hanyou looking at her like she was about to explode. “Mama wasn't too keen on the idea of letting you wear papa's underpants.” Kagome giggled, grabbing her clothes. “Well,” Inuyasha bent over and stepped into the garment. “now that I think about it, I’d rather go commando.” The shirt got tossed back on the chair while he turned to watch Kagome slip into a pair of shredded-grey jean-shorts and a dark blue tank top. She raised an eyebrow when she straightened herself. “What?” “Nothing.” The hanyou reached for the shirt and then slipped it on. “Not going to talk to me now that I have clothes on?” Kagome teased, placing her hands on her hips. Although she might have found the statement humourous, Inuyasha didn’t. He scowled. “That’s bullshit.” He grumbled, yanking open the door. Kagome open and closed her mouth a few times then bounded after him, yanking on his arm. “Why are you mad at that?” “I can’t believe you said that.” Inuyasha growled, yet allowed her to spin him around. She looked a bit frustrated, but confused more than anything. Leaning up on her tip toes, the miko kissed him gently then wrapped her arms around his waist, her head resting on his chest. Inuyasha felt himself melt. He kissed her hair, petted it gently. “Damn you, wench,” he whispered affectionately. Kagome just smiled. “Oh, you two are up now.” Mrs. Higurashi ascended the stairs, a basket of laundry on her hip; a true motherly figure. Kagome jumped back and blushed, but nodded at her mother, who smiled knowingly. “Breakfast is on the table.”
.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.~.^*^.
And what a breakfast it was. All of Kagome’s –and Inuyasha’s, thanks to Mrs. Higurashi’s memory- were laid out on the table. Even the two’s respective plates were out. The miko’s green one, and the enlongated dog bowl looking plate that Grandpa had bought Inuyasha one Christmas as a joke. Famished from their rigourous late night activities, they stuffed themselves, ate quickly. In no time, Souta had joined them, gobbled down his meal just as fast as they did, being the growing boy that he was, and proceeded to abduct Inuyasha, pleading with the hanyou to teach him his Kendo moves from high school. Inuyasha went, tossing a backwards glance at Kagome as he was being drug out the door. Mrs. Higurashi chuckled from her place in the doorway, causing Kagome to twist in her seat to look at her. “Hey, mama.” “He’s got this way of looking at you that reminds me of the way your father looked at me.” Her mother said, pulling out a kitchen chair across from Kagome and slowly sitting down. The younger woman blushed. “I don’t know what you mean.” Mrs. Higurashi tsked, folding her hands under her chin, leaning towards her daughter. “Sure you do. Kagome Higurashi, us mothers are not blind, especially us miko ones. I know that you and him made love last night. I’d be a fool not to.” Kagome sputtered, her face going three shades darker. “M-Mom!” “Oh, hush.” The older woman picked up Souta’s empty glass and refilled it with iced tea. She took a sip, then placed it back down, all the while Kagome sat across from her, utterly mortified into silence. “Yet again the Higurashi family miracle strikes again.” Kagome looked at her mother in shock. “You can’t honestly believe that Inuyasha is-“ “Oh, honey. He’s been for a long time coming.” Mrs. Higurashi clicked her tongue while raising the glass once more. A sip, then she continued. “You remember the story of me and your father and your grandpa and grandma, even your great grandparents. You were all excited about your twenty-third Tanabata, now look at you. Did you really think you were going to meet someone new and fall in love on the spot? Well, you might’ve fallen back,” she emphasized the word, “in love, but, my dear child, did you really want it to be someone other than him? I think the Gods have something in store for the two of you, something wonderful, if not, do you think he would’ve fallen into your lap right before you were supposed to stumble upon your true love? It’s the Tanabata magic; it favors the Higurashi mikos.” “But it rained! It’s not supposed to! It’s bad luck! Besides, I don’t know. Maybe. I just thought this year was going to be just like yours. I wanted to get married after meeting my soul mate after the Tanabata, get a promotion, buy my first house . . . It seems like these past few weeks have thrown me off track completely. And Inuyasha as my soulmate? He is great but . . . I just don’t know.” Kagome mumbled the last bit, suddenly finding a knot in the wooden table more interesting than her mother’s fixed eyes. Mrs. Higurashi nodded, her fingers skimming the rim of the glass while she listened to her daughter. Perfection wasn’t to be strived for, she thought, it was just supposed to happen, and for her eldest, going on her twenty-third year, the older woman was sure things would fall into to place. “It rained on your great grandmother’s and she and her husband were inseparable.” The older miko took another swig of tea and started on a different note. “Honey, if you didn’t honestly feel something for him, you wouldn’t have let him touch you the way he did last night.” Kagome let out an embarrassed sigh and buried her face in her hands. Her mother just smiled in amusement, continuing her verbal torment. “I saw you in the hallway, he cares for you just as much as you care for him, and it doesn’t hurt that all of us, with the exception of your grandfather, are truly fond of him. I always wondered if my grandbabies would have those cute ears.” Mrs. Higurashi gushed. Kagome rolled her eyes but laughed regardless, dropping her hand to the table. “Mama, I am not having any kids yet, nor do I think Inuyasha would ask me have his kid or even marry him.” “Oh, now, now.” Mrs. Higurashi stood up from the table, bringing Inuyasha and Souta’s dishes with her to the sink. “All in time. Your father didn’t whisk me away into a romantic marriage, baby. We hated each other throughout high school; we had nothing in common. Yet, on Tanabata, we ran into each other, after having lost each of our dates, and took a boat ride just because, and a year later we were married and blessed with you. I didn’t give him a second thought before that night, and as it turns out, he was the most amazing man.” Kagome’s mother’s eyes clouded for a moment and she smiled sadly, obviously having a moment of nostalgia. The younger miko thought about her current situation, reconsidering her doubts, but when a pair of dirty arguing boys came barging into the kitchen, both women looked up in aggravation. “What in the hell, Inuyasha!” “Souta Higurashi!” The boys pointed at each other. “He started it!” They shouted simultaneously. Kagome groaned and slumped onto the table. Gods help her.

A/N: I know it has been a while, I apologize. A LOT going on. But I hope that explains the Tanabata thing, Bluedragon. =)
Anyway, I’ll work on the next chapter some tomorrow, try to get back into the swing of chapter after chapter now that I have a little bit more freedom now that all the hard work has slackened a little.
Enjoy.
Lemme know what you think. =)
