Chapter 14 Sango and Sesshoumaru

Driving in the rental she purchased when they arrived at the airport, Sango switched lanes driving to his school. A traffic jam of children and their parents, all spread out in front of the white and brown brick school, she parked the car at the on the opposite side quickly exiting she held his hand jogging across the street they went inside. Introduced herself briskly and made a couple of friends with two boys one younger, and the other older they were brothers, so that solved Ryuma's problem of not fitting in. She was happy to do it, checking her watch she said her goodbyes, kissed her son and rushed outside to her car, heading to her interview with a Sesshoumaru Mushima at Harashi & Mushima Incorporated an very important accounting firm that needed an personal secretary, and thankfully she was called for the job. She'd be able to relax and pay some bills that were practically piling up as we speak. Only thing was she hoped this Mushima character wasn't an perverted old coot with a superiority complex. That's like the last thing Sango wanted at this point in her life.

Pulling up to the beautiful high rise building as expensive and brand new as the day it was constructed, it was pretty tall too about fifty maybe sixty floors. She passed through the ground floor parking area, she spotted the security booth along with a yellow and black striped bar blocking her way. Sango slowed to a stop in front of it, reaching next to her seat, to pick up her purse. She looked through it for her license and registration, and passport. While looking up she noticed the security guard was a big man with the most peculiar shade of red hair...like the color of a carrot. Well, he certainly had the built for the job, huge like an NFL player without the steroids. She cleared her throat, ready to go before she was late for her interview, again she really needed this job. As Mr.carrot top turned about face, and her mouth hung agape as her eyebrows uplifted in shock to see the most sexiest man she'd ever laid eyes on in a security uniform.

“Good morning to you Miss. May I see some identification and whom you are here to see?” He stated, and sweet budda he was really gorgeous.

Sango shut her mouth, quickly handing him her information, “I'm here to see Mr. Mushima, I have an scheduled interview with him.” She abruptly lowered her gaze, from staring at his dazzling emerald eyes, feeling a little miffed, that she'd be getting all worked up over the first male she came in contact with. Not having sex for over six years will do that kind of stuff to you.

He gave her a slow grin, his eyes smiling in amusement, knowing what had her nerves so jittery, “I have you on the list, Ms. Fukuda you can go right on in, and my name is Shippou Harashi by the way, welcome aboard.”

“Uh thanks Shippou, but I haven't even gotten the a-okay yet.” She averted her gaze again from his infectious smile.

“Oh you will, you’re the first to be interviewed, plus you look like an intelligent woman who knows her shit.” Even his voice was, deep and inviting; he couldn't possibly be more then twenty one, the most.

Sango blushed at his comment, wanting to get away before she looked like a fool, “Um thank you, I'm going, uh, leaving, so uh see you later...I guess.” She grimaced some, at her uneducated response, god she needed to get laid and fast.

“You have a nice day Ms. Fukuda. Good luck.” He shook his head, smiling as she honked the horn driving away.

Heading through Sango parked near a sporty black convertible, it looked expensive as shit. Glimpsing at it she hurried along to the ground floor elevator, pushing up the metal doors slid shut moving on up to the sixty second floor. Fixing her suit jacket, she took a quick look at her watch reading she had twenty minutes to spare in good timing. The elevator ride was fast, as she stepped out her black pumps clicking on the black marble floor. Sango checked her small briefcase making sure she took her resume when she bumped into a hard wall or so she thought it was a wall. Because that's what it felt like until a pair of arms shot out to catch her before she fell.

“Oh, sorry. I didn't mean t-to...” Her words were forgotten completely, as she looked upon a dark pair of frowning eyes. Her luck never lead up, bumping into another oddly color haired man for the second time today. This guy had long silver hair that looked like spun silk. It was either that color or gray and he for damn sure didn't look old enough to have hair that color.

Sesshoumaru grinned, finding this amusing. He was used to this kind of reaction from women, taking notice of her slow inspection of him. She concluded he was tall, real tall with the most beautiful pale skin she'd ever seen. His features looked almost feminine. With broad shoulders and a athlete frame, in his black three piece suit he looked like big money. It took her a moment to gather her thoughts; the handsome faced stranger was staring at her.

It was an affirmative; he was way too sexy up close, even sexier then carrot top. “You should be more careful you could of hurt yourself.” His deep baritone voice sounded sophisticated and she fell into a trance, until she felt the extra heat coming from his hands, that were still hugging her waist which Sango blushed from embarrassment, taking a couple of steps back giving them space

She bowed, clutching her briefcase to her chest, “I-I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying attention and I walked right into you.” He felt bad for not moving his hands when he should of but her body felt too soft to let go.

“It's quite alright, no harm was done,” He smirked, a smirk that was doing wonderful things to her body. “Just be more alert next time, when you decide to look through things without watching where your going.” And poor Sango was going under with out a life raft.

“I uh, I really am sorry I...”

“Like I said before its okay. But I do apologize. I have some where to be right now, so it was a pleasure.”

“Uh sure. Thanks for a...”

“You’re welcome."

Quickly walking to his destination, he entered glass double doors to, the room where demons older then himself, debating over how much of this, or how much of that will be put into the deal. Taking a seat, at the end of a large oak table, Sesshoumaru scanned the main people he was to deal with. A disgusted sigh left him, it was rather boring the same routine over and over again. The only and real reason he was actually sitting here, is because of Kouga. If he hadn't begged him for some reason that he had a important date with some client. He would have flat out declined, that's when he dropped the, you owe me a favor line. And he had to accept but, his mind was in no way thinking about business though, for an image of a certain beautiful face loomed in the back of his retina's. That same, beautiful face he so happen to have the privilege of bumping into earlier today. He had admitted, that he didn't want to leave her presence, when they're awkward collision happened in the lobby, he couldn't tear his eyes away from her. It'd been two hours now and he still had her on his mind, but alas he didn't have a clue if she worked here or not. She could have been on her way to see her boyfriend, maybe. Thinking of that made him a little uneasy, mostly because he didn't know why he felt this way about someone he'd only had contact with for less then five minutes. Even her voice plagued his mind sweet and soft, breaking his thoughts at the sound of knocking, a woman with a shoulder length cut peeked her head in her lucid hazel eyes finding him through the endless wave of business suits.

“Yes, what is it?”

“Sorry to bother you sir, but there's a Ms. Fukuda here to see you, and your also approximately ten minutes behind schedule on your interviewed appointments.”

“I see. Thank you Yura that will be all.”

Turning his attention back to the loud and obnoxious argument, between both elder demons. “Well gentlemen, as all of you have heard business is done for today, we will begin again tomorrow bright and early at eight sharp, documents looked over and signed also.” Sesshoumaru sat back down after shaking the last man's hand to leave, as the door closed shut finally, rubbing the bridge of his nose, thanking Yura profusely for the heads-up.

Doing interviews all day was better then that dreadful meeting, he was doing this because he had to replace Yura since she was leaving him. Seven months pregnant, and the best personal assistant he had, if her husband wasn't such a cry-baby about her work schedule she wouldn't be going anywhere. But this was his first child and he was only worried about the safety of his wife, so Sesshoumaru had to excuse his lameness for fatherly concern. It was a drag having to get to know someone new, he wasn't the type to parade around his feelings to anyone, not even her and she'd known him for ten years. There relationship was platonic, since she wasn't his type anyways, after turning him down the first day working for him. He smiled at that memory, from then on they became good friends with mutual respect for each other on and off work. Sure, she'd made him smile at times, very rare times. A laugh out of him was something totally different, only she could do with her bubbly sense of humor, he once called it. And dropping hint after hint that she still had a job when she had the baby, didn't help him either. She declined sweetly, only further making him melancholy and said, “Working for you for ten years, is a lifetime of experience I'll keep with me till I die.” He didn't laugh at her joke because, he was practically begging her to come back. Yura had that kind of humor.

Loosening his tie, he took it off while unbuttoning the top of his shirt. Opening his left drawer, he took a beige folder out dropping it on his desk. Flipping through it, he suddenly had the urge to smoke a cigarette, but thought about the woman coming here to see him. Out of consideration really he didn't light one, who knows she could be an asthmatic. He began to skim through the pages in the folder.

He read that she was married and had a couple of bachelor's degrees, so everything seemed to be in order. The way he felt right now, he couldn't even give a rat's ass if she was the hunchback of Notre dame. Adamant on just going home after interviewing her, only to get some needed sleep was his goal for today. Ready to get to business, he buzzed Yura, waiting to here her voice.

“Yes Sesshoumaru?” She spoke in an tired tone, upset her Sudoku concentration was interrupted.

“I sure am going to miss your enthusiasm around here.” He said teasingly with a small smile.

“Funny. What do you want?”

“A massage maybe?”

“Nice try.”

“Can't blame a guy for trying,. Anyway, you can send in Mrs. Hariyama for me please.”

“Sure thing boss. Oh and Kikyo called, she wanted to know when you were going to pick her up for lunch today?”

“If she calls again (which she will) tell her I'll be late so don't wait up.”

“Will do.” Yura's perfectly trimmed cut swished with the turn of her head, with a big smile she called out Sango's name. Immediately she stood, brushing her black suit jacket while holding her briefcase in the other hand. Walking the short distance toward her she got an closer inspection of this woman, and her eyes widened. She was gorgeous, her face was perfection like a movie star, and even her nail polish was perfect her matching red lips were in a wide smile. Sango smiled back at her in return feeling comfortable, introducing herself, she gave her quick congratulations that she was having a girl. It was obvious she was going to replace her because she was taking maternity leave.

They got along for the five minutes of talk, Sango liked her take no prisoners attitude, “Trust me, he'll like you.” Yura replied.

“I hope. I really need this job.” Sango sighed.

“You'll do fine Sango, just remember he can be a little stubborn at times but he's cool to work with.”

“Okay thanks a lot.”

“Don't forget the flirting is to be expected, so don't fall for it. And good luck.” From what bit of information she got from Yura, this Sesshoumaru wasn't an old coot in the least, old yes but not the old she had thought. He wasn't an open to talk kind of guy, so don't piss him off and you'll be alright she said. Sango was focused, for the question and answer part, passing another black door she inhaled, then exhaled slowly. Her stomach didn't feel too well, cursing herself for not eating a well-balanced breakfast this morning, probably was the cause. Seeing the large black double doors at the end of the all white hallway, she followed the directions given to her.

Stopping inches from the door Sango held her breath, raising her hand in a fist she knocked firm enough to hear, but soft enough not to cause alarm in case he was in the middle of work. A deep voice called for her to come inside, and her heart skipped a beat. She entered seeing her expected boss far across the room, reading a paper in hand. However, the one thing she also noticed was his hair, it was silver. That same unusual color resembled the man she'd had the fortune to bump into coming out of the elevator today. It couldn't be him, she hoped. While observing her surroundings, her attention in taking the basic color décor, as a business man of his stature should have. She came to his desk, waiting and watching him read while he held a pen in his other hand.

“You may have a seat.” Slowly seating herself in the large leather chair, she waited till he was finished, out of common courtesy of course.

Sesshoumaru continued to read on, when he heard the door open and shut telling him she had arrived. And that's when his nose suddenly twitched, catching a familiar scent. The same scent that still lingered faintly on his jacket. The smell of vanilla, he peeked up while she studied his office, and his face faltered into mild surprise at seeing her. That beautiful face he had bumped into earlier today. And by the look on hers she had the same shocked acknowledgment when their eyes met. Here she was, sitting right in front of him with her hands folded on her lap, looking sexier then ever in that pantsuit and jacket, hugging every god given curve she had. He held back the tension he was feeling now that she'd appeared, here, so close to him.

Setting the contract aside, he cleared his throat to speak, until he heard her soft laughter, “Wow! Who would have thought, huh? Us, meeting here, again.” She really wanted to shrink away, and she had guessed right it was the ultra hottie she bumped into from earlier.

Going home early to catch some Zzzz's was definitely forgotten, he made a slow grin, those captivating brown eyes of hers held his interest, “Yes, it is a surprise, to see you.” He took off his reading glasses, setting them on the desk, while leaning back in his chair hands folded at his waist. Her sudden blush indicated that she was becoming uncomfortable under his unblinking stare. She still couldn't get over this man and those dark eyes, she had to look away.

And she waited quietly for him to speak,. “Ms. Fukuda is it?”

“Yes, but miss is fine, Mr.Mushima.”

He frowned at that not liking being able to picture Sango screaming Mr Mushima when she came, “Sesshoumaru.”

“I beg your pardon?”

“I would like for you to call me Sesshoumaru.”

“Oh, okay. Uh, Sesshoumaru I'd like for you to take a look at my resume and...”

“I've read all of it, Sango. But I would like to know why it says here in your application your married when your not?”

“I didn't think anything of it to be an issue sir, I've been divorced for over six years and...”

“If you don't mind me asking, what was the reason?”

“We felt it would be best to go our separate ways.”

“I see.”

“Is my divorce a problem?”

“Not at all Sango, in fact you’re hired for the job.”

“I-I am.”

“Yes, starting tomorrow morning at eight. I'm having a meeting at that time, so Yura will train you in what to do before you leave.”

“Okay. Thank you so much Mr.Mushima I...”

“Sesshoumaru, Sango.”

“Right, sorry Mr, uh, Sesshoumaru, I'll be here tomorrow bright and early.”

“I know you will.”

“And Sango?”

“Yes.”

He stood while slipping on his jacket and pushing his chair in. “I was wondering, do you have any where to be right now?” He flashed her a smile, and continued on, “I'm going to get a bite to eat after this.” His smile grew noticing her startled look, “And I wanted to know, if you'd like to join me, my treat?” Sesshoumaru held her gaze; a faint blush on her cheeks told him he had a chance.

He waited in thought, thinking of how he could get into those sexy little pants of hers, “Well I-I have to pick someone up in about an hour and...”His one minute daydream was zapped away hearing a someone in his mind's fantasy.

“Oh I apologize.” Just as quickly his expression turned business.

“I'm not seeing anyone.” Sango blurted out, blushed ten times then the shade she had been. “I have to pick up my son at school.”

“You have a son?” To say he was surprised could be a clue to the look he had on his face.

Sango blushing like a stop sign. “Yea. Sorry I kind of left that out.”

“No, it's okay. I don't have a problem with it, it's just that you look,” His gaze accidentally dropped to her slightly straining bust. “I mean you look you know, so young and all.” He gave her another charming smile.

She lowered her gaze, smiling the smile of a proud mother. “Yep my little Ryuma, he's only seven and acts like he's thirty, but he's adorably likable when he gets what he wants so you get the picture.”

He walked over to her. “Sounds like he gets it from his pretty mother.” Sango smiled, he was flirting with her and she liked it.

“Perhaps. Hey I'm basically new without a friend in the world, how about I take you up on your offer of lunch tomorrow.”

“Sure why not.” From then on, Sango and Sesshoumaru made the best of their time only at work, going to lunch the day after their first meeting, was kind of a way for them to break the ice. There were occasional brushes of the arm or her hand accidentally touching his. And it didn't go unnoticed by him either, the spark that made his skin tingle, her constant blushing whenever he'd smile at her with those dark eyes of his. Combined together melted her mind turning it into mush, she'd been so nervous, thinking he would find her boring. But all he did was laugh, a very sexy laugh to be blunt, and waved her off like she'd told the most funniest joke he'd heard in years. Three weeks had gone by, and pretty much Yura resigned from work, and she now had a job with a lot of great benefits and the pay wasn't bad either. Though it had been a complete mind trip dealing with him within close proximity. Ever since the friendly lunch date, he'd been flirting with her from then on, she didn't fall for it or have another luncheon with him either. It had been plainly obvious that half the women staff ogled him on a regular bases. She got use to it by the second week, and he acted like it didn't faze him. Yes she'd at times stare at his ass or the slight bulge in the front of his pants, but he was her boss and that's it. Her so called co-workers would give her nasty looks and the evil eye, just the female staff then male unfortunately. This friendship of sorts they had, needed to be put on hold.
