The Agreement and the General

Chapter 13:

When she woke again there was no one in the room. She sat up and looked around. The room was beautiful. It was all done in reds. The curtains and paintings on the walls were all red. There were a few tables scattered through out the room and they were dark brown with a slight red tint to the wood. Kagome looked down at herself and saw she was wearing a white sleeping gown. She got up from the bed and the door opened. A young girl walked in and bowed to her.

“Lady. I am Mika, you handmaiden. Lord Sesshomaru sent me to help you in any way I can.” Kagome nodded.

“Hello Mika. I’m Kagome.” Mika bowed again.

“Would you like to take a bath?” Kagome smiled brilliantly at the girl.

“That sounds wonderful.” Mika led Kagome out of the room and down that hall to another room. When she opened the door Kagome saw a wonderful indoor hot spring. Kagome stepped into the room and Mika closed the door leaving Kagome alone once more. She slid the sleeping gown off and slipped into the water. Kagome dove into the deeper water and swam for a while. She found a natural rock shelve in the deeper water and pulled herself up onto it. The water came right above her breasts. Kagome saw bottles and jars of different liquids. Smelling a few she found one that reminded her of moon flowers. She used this to wash her hair and body. She dipped beneath the water to rinse herself before relaxing on the shelf. She heard the door open and she looked over.

“My Lady, Lord Sesshomaru has requested to see you after your bath.” Kagome nodded and dove back into the water to make it toward the door. Kagome pulled herself out of the water and was presented with a towel. Kagome dried a little and wrapped it around herself as she was led back down the hall to her room. Mika went over to another set of doors and opened them, revealing dozens of beautiful kimonos and other clothes. Mika bowed to Kagome once more.

“These clothes are at your disposal.” Mika stepped to the side and allowed Kagome to enter the walk-in closet. There was every color she could imagine. She found a baby blue kimono that had white flowers around the hem. It was sleeveless with a high color. The obi was a darker blue with white flower petals on it. Kagome instantly fell in love and pulled it from the wall. Mika helped her into the kimono and tied the obi. She then sat Kagome on a stool and drew her hair up into a ponytail. Kagome walked over the mirror and looked at herself. The kimono looked great on her and the sleeves showed off her arms while the high collar ended right under her chin.

“My Lady, the Lord is waiting for you in his study.” Kagome nodded and found herself being led through the halls again. They stopped in front of a set of double doors that had a battle scene etched into them. Mika bowed and left Kagome standing there. She knocked on the door and waited.

“Enter.” Kagome knelt on the pillow next to the door and slid open the door. She moved through the door to the other pillow and closed the door before rising and going to Sesshomaru’s desk. She stood behind some pillows and waited once again. Sesshomaru had watched her since she entered the room and gestured for her to the pillows. Kagome sat down carefully arranging her kimono.

“You wished to see me Sesshomaru-sama?” Sesshomaru nodded.

“I have a proposal for you. I wish for you to stay here in the palace and allow me time to convince you to mate with me.” Kagome blushed and looked down at her hands folded in her lap.

“How long is this for?” Sesshomaru waited a moment before responding.

“Until you either decide to mate or until you decide to go. A minimum of one lunar cycle.”

“A month. What about my friends?” Sesshomaru nodded.

“They may stay here if you’d like. I have requested that they transport our pups here to the palace. Once they arrive you may ask them to stay.” Kagome nodded and thought for a few minutes.

“I think that that’s fair. A month is a reasonable amount of time. And after that month is over if we are not mated then I can choose to leave at any time?” Sesshomaru nodded. “Okay.”

“Would you like to look around the palace?” Kagome smiled and nodded. “Enter.” Mika entered the room and bowed low to the Lord. “Show Lady Kagome through the palace and then escort her to lunch.” Mika bowed again and stepped from the room. Kagome looked back to Sesshomaru and smiled sweetly. Sesshomaru was watching her.

“I will see you at lunch then?” Sesshomaru nodded briefly. “Okay, then I will see you latter.” Kagome stood and bowed slightly before turning toward the door. Sesshomaru’s voice stopped her.

“You won’t bow to this Sesshomaru again.” Kagome looked back at him and smiled again before leaving the room. Standing there was Mika. They walked through the whole palace and Kagome got lost inside the walls. There were just so many halls and rooms every where. She mapped out the important routes; from her room to Sesshomaru’s study, the dinning room, the entrance room, and audience chamber. But outside was Kagome’s favorite place. The gardens were wonderful. All the different flowers and plants, Kagome could lose all track of time here. Then there were the training grounds. Sesshomaru had his own army and they were all at the palace. There was a smaller building behind the palace that she was informed were the barracks. Kagome was really impressed.

“My Lady, There is still s few more hours until lunch what would you like to do?” Kagome looked around and gestured to the training grounds.

“I want to watch the training.” Mika bowed and led Kagome to the training grounds again. Kagome found a nice tree and sat at its truck to watch the soldiers fight. There were demons of all kinds. There were leopards, and panthers, wolves, bird demons. Their fighting skill was magnificent. Not anywhere close to Sesshomaru’s but still very good. When they began training with archery she got excited. They were better with swords then bows and arrows. Kagome shook her head at the training and stood to walk away.

“Is there something wrong with our training, human?” Kagome turned and the captain stepped toward her. He was a leopard demon and there was a smirk on his face. Kagome nodded.

“Yeah, actually. Your archery skills are pathetic.” The demon growled at her. Kagome didn’t flinch.

“You, a human, say you can judge our skills. I bet you can’t even string a bow let alone fire one.” The demon laughed at her and Kagome became angry.

“Fine. I’ll show you how it’s supposed to be done. Give me a bow and a single arrow.” The general growled and threw his weapons toward her. Kagome caught both with ease. She walked to were the other demons were snickering and then turned and walked another fifty feet away from the target. Kagome turned and took her stance.

“I suggest you get your demons out the way before I have to half Sesshomaru’s army.” The general laughed and gestured for the other demons to move.

Kagome took a deep breath and transformed the bow that she was holding into her own bow. Her quiver appeared on her back and Kagome drew out her arrow. She readied her shot and put just a little miko energy into the shot before she released it. The arrow flew straight and true. It flew from her bow and was engulfed in blue light as it sailed toward the target. It landed in the target with a thud as the general went to check the landing. He looked up at Kagome with shock written on his face. Kagome held out her hand and the arrow disappeared from the target and appeared in her hand. She placed the arrow back into her quiver and walked away form the training grounds.
