Court is Held Again
thehotty: So I've tortured you all so very much.
Kagome: No fucking kidding. We all thought you were dead. What the hell happened to you?!?
thehotty: My boyfriends closest sister died right when we got the internet. Then I had to get a second job. So not only am I working two jobs, but I'm trying to get into college and take care of work around the new apartment.
Sesshoumaru: We shall be nice for now. Just because you started actually working on both the stories agian.
thehotty: Yeah, I have. I've found time between my busy schedule. Be happy and all of you people smile!
Sango: So here's the new chapter!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sesshoumaru shook Kagome gently. “Darling. We are here.”
She slowly woke up and smiled lazily up to him. “Good morning handsome.”
“Good morning. Now, why don’t we go see father? The children have just ran out to greet them.”
Kagome nodded her head and sat up. She watched as Sesshoumaru exited.
“Son! How have you been? You look more relaxed then I can ever remember.” Inu-no held his hand up to shake his sons.
“I am fine. How are you?” he asked.
“Terrific. You know, you should really think about finding a mate. The Court will be on your ass for a long time if you don’t, you know,” Inu-no stated, jabbing his son in the side with his elbow.
“Indeed,” he replied, holding his hand out for Kagome.
She took it and stepped out to greet her fathers. Both stared at her in shock.
“What? No ‘hi’ or ‘Kagome, I’ve missed you’?” she asked them.
They didn’t answer her and she glanced at Sesshoumaru. “They look like they’ve never seen a mated woman before,” she teased.
“I’ve noticed. It is rude to stare at your daughter,” he turned his attention to Inu-no.
“I didn’t expect this. Kouga’s going to have a hay-day,” Inu-no answered.
“It’s what happens sometimes if you leave two people alone with one another for a couple of months. They fall in love. It’s as simple as that,” she answered. “And who cares what Kouga thinks. I never wanted to marry or mate him. I only ever looked at him as a friend, but nobody ever wanted to believe me.”
“Well, come give us hugs. We’ll talk about all this later,” Kibito finally answered.
“Indeed. Miroku and Sango are already inside with the kids. Yura can get the packages,” Sesshoumaru informed Kagome.
“Ok then,” she smiled up at him and they followed their fathers inside.
“Hey, I thought I smelt your stench! What are you doing here?” Inu Yasha asked, glaring at Sesshoumaru.
“Shut up Inu Yasha.” Sesshoumaru glared at him.
“Keh! Like I have to listen to you,” he huffed.
“Shut up Inu Yasha,” Kagome commanded, stepping out from behind Sesshoumaru.
Inu Yasha’s mouth fell open. “What the hell! You mated that fucker!”
“Watch your mouth! The kids are running around here some where. And hai, I mated Sesshoumaru. What of it?” Kagome asked.
“He’s a fucker! A cold hearted prick! Didn’t you listen to anything I told you when I was there?” he yelled.
“Iie. Why would I listen to you? You were bad talking my husband. What if I started bad talking Kikyou? You wouldn’t listen to me, would you?” she shot back.
“I’d tell you to shut your mangy mouth or I’d rip your throat out,” he growled.
“Exactly. So you shut your mangy mouth or I’ll have Sesshoumaru rip your throat out. End of discussion.” She crossed her arms and glared at him harder, daring him to say another word.
“Inu Yasha, leave my sister alone. I am happy for you Kagome. You found someone to love that will love you back, it seems.” Kikyou walked in and smiled at her, shooting Inu Yasha a glare.
“Keh. Yeah, I guess I’m happy for you too. Though I don’t know why it had to be him of all people.” Inu Yasha crossed his arms and shot Sesshoumaru a glare.
Kikyou walked up to Kagome and gave her a hug. “We have much to talk about.”
“Hai. Not to mention another ceremony to plan,” Kagome offered. “Where is Izayoi?” Kagome asked.
“She is in the gardens replanting some things that Inu Yasha tore up,” Inu-no said.
Kagome laughed. “Was he playing fetch?”
He glared at her and Sesshoumaru smirked.
“Hai. His mother chewed him out afterward for the big holes he left,” Kibito answered.
“Father, I believe we have much to talk about. If we could head to the study?” he asked.
“Of course.” Inu-no-Tashio lead the way.
Kagome found she was bored of listening to her fathers drone on about new laws and how this Lord was doing so and so with their Lands. Her mate looked just as bored as she did, noting how he only nodded every now and then.
There was a pause as Inu-no looked down at his papers.
“You know what? I think we should take a break. I don’t think we need to know everything going on here. We have enough papers and stuff at the castle telling us what’s going on where,” Kagome cut in.
Kibito chuckled. “Never was one for politics. Alright then, let’s take a break and we’ll meet back up tomorrow to go over other things.”
They stood up and headed out the door. Kagome smiled up at Sesshoumaru. “I think I’m going to go find Izayoi and say hello to her. Don’t hassle them to much.”
He nodded and watched as she walked down the hall.
“I didn’t think it was going to happen. Well, before I died at least. You had better treat her kindly,” Inu-no said.
“You believe I would treat her any other way?” Sesshoumaru asked, turning around to face his father.
“No, but I don’t want to see her heart break. She is to loving for that.”
“My daughter loves you and you obviously love her, hence the mating. That is all the evidence I need to know you are going to treat her kindly,” Kibito stated, heading down the hall to find his grandchildren.
“I guess he’s right. So, my son, let’s talk grandchildren here. How many am I looking at? One? Four? Maybe ten?” Inu-no asked, wrapping an arm around Sesshoumaru’s shoulder.
Sesshoumaru repressed a sigh. “We have not thought of children yet. Rin and Shippo are enough for the moment. We may talk about it after the ceremony.”
“Ah, that would be wise. Well then, let’s walk, shall we. I think I would like to know what my mate is doing,” Inu-no pulled away and began walking with his son.
They found Kagome and Izayoi discussing Kagome’s current state in the garden.
“You know, I knew you’d get him to mate you. Ever since the day before Kikyou’s and Inu Yasha’s wedding, I just knew it. How often is it that you see someone thinking about someone they haven’t already met in a way you were?”
Kagome blushed as she saw the guys walking up to them.
“What is going on now?” Inu-no asked, raising an eyebrow at the women.
“Nothing dad! You don’t need to know about it. Girl talk, you know,” she replied, covering Izayoi’s mouth before she could tell him.
“I don’t believe that Kagome. You told me about it,” Sesshoumaru smirk at her uncomfortable state.
“That’s different. You were my husband and now my mate. I can tell you if I want. Dad doesn’t need to know about things like that though,” she scolded. “Now you be quite too. Or else!”
“Or else what?” he asked, the smirk growing just a hair bigger.
She glared at him. “Nothing. For two weeks,” she threatened.
His smirk disappeared and Inu-no blanched. “I didn’t want to know about that! I mean I know, but I don’t want to!”
Kagome shot him a dirty look and faced Sesshoumaru again. “I dare you to tell him now.”
“Hn.”
“Just as I thought. Mom, make dad go away!” she whined.
“Darling, run along. I believe the grandchildren are probably looking for you by now.” Izayoi shooed him away from them.
He obediently left two smiling women and headed back into the castle.
“Kami! Knowing him, he would have started hounding you for grandchildren if he would have stayed a minute longer,” Izayoi bemoaned.
“Then you are lucky you didn’t have to hear it,” Sesshoumaru answered.
“Oh no. We just mated and he’s already at it?” Kagome asked.
“Indeed. He seems to be quite impatient.” Sesshoumaru nodded his head.
“Well, he could have picked a better time. There’s too much going on to worry about having kids at the moment. Court’s in a few days, then after that is the ceremony. Doesn’t he have a brain in that thick skull of his?” Kagome asked.
“No, he doesn’t. So, how have you two been? I haven’t received any letters since the wedding,” Izayoi asked facing Sesshoumaru.
“We have been busy getting the castle and the laws put into order. Naraku seemed to not care about anything,” Sesshoumaru replied.
Kagome shuddered and Sesshoumaru put an arm around her in comfort. “Yeah, the kids have taken up lessons too. Shippo keeps insisting he doesn’t need them because he’s a demon. Boy, how wrong he is,” Kagome joked.
“Boys are normally that way. Inu Yasha was a pain to teach anything to. He wouldn’t listen and kept trying to go find his father to train; saying he had to make his demon side stronger or else he’d go all human. Almost hurt my feelings until I remembered he was a boy and not a girl,” Izayoi smiled.
They continued to chat for a while before Kagome and Sesshoumaru left to go gather the children for dinner.
Kagome sat with Kikyou outside by the stream. They had been going over a few fabrics for the pillows for the mating ceremony.
“Kagome. I want to tell you something. Dad doesn’t know about it, so you need to stay quite.” Kikyou looked up from the pink fabric.
“What is it? You know you can tell me anything,” Kagome said, looking up as well.
“Inu Yasha and I have been talking about children recently. We want to start our family now. After all, we have been together for so long. We’d been trying to have them and I finally conceived. Kagome, I’m pregnant!”
Kagome gasped and squeezed Kikyou. “Oh my Kami! You’re pregnant! Do you know if it’s a boy or a girl? I hear inu demons can tell by the scent! I hope it’s a girl. You’ll be able to control it a lot better. After all, they are a lot kinder by nature,” Kagome rambled on.
“Inu-no says it’s a girl and a boy. We’re having twins. Inu Yasha kept bragging to Inu-no about how he did more then his father could. You know, Inu-no’s always wanted a little girl. I want you to help me pick clothes out and stuff. We’ve already picked out the room and cleared everything out of it. We are waiting for the furniture to show up before picking the rest of the things out.”
Kagome smiled. “I’m so happy for you two. How far along do you think you are?” she asked.
“A month and a half. I became pregnant before your second wedding. We didn’t know until we came home.”
They talked more about random things before getting ready to go in to go to bed. Court was the next day and it seemed that there was quite a bit of things that would be announced.
Kagome walked into her room to find Sesshoumaru in an angered state.
“Darling. Are you alright?” she asked.
“My father is being rude and inconsiderate,” he growled out.
“What is he doing now?” she asked, sitting on his lap.
“He demands to have a grandchild by the end of the year. He says that Inu Yasha and Kikyou had managed to conceive, and we have not yet.” He almost yelled at her.
Kagome frowned. “It’s probably what they’re going to say at Court. I will talk to him in the morning before everyone else arrives. He will understand everything when I get finish with him.”
Sesshoumaru growled. “He has no right telling me what I must and mustn’t do. I am a Lord and I am mated.”
Kagome pressed her lips to his to quite him. He pressed her tight to his body while he ravished her mouth, gaining a moan from her.
She pulled away and smiled. “Do you feel better now darling?”
He scoffed and pulled her closer. “I think I need a few more of those kisses first,” he answered.
Kagome found herself waking to a very pleased Sesshoumaru. “Good morning, koi. How are you?”
“Wonderful. I can watch my naked mate smile at me all day if I could. The rest of Court should be showing up shortly. You should go talk to father.”
Her smile disappeared. “Hai. I almost forgot about him. I will go deal with him.”
She got up and dressed quickly. Sesshoumaru gave her a chaste kiss and she left to hunt down her father.
She found him in the study going over a few papers before the rest of the Court showed up.
“Father. I am upset with you. But I’m not the only one upset either. My mate is furious. You can not demand that we have children. We will have them when we are ready for them. If you think a baby is in order, talk to Izayoi about that. Now, you will apologize to Sesshoumaru and then you will leave us alone about it. I will not have it.”
She glared at him with her hands on her hips.
He sighed and rubbed his temples. “Court is going to have this discussion in a little bit. Can this wait until then?”
“Iie! If we decide to have children in ten years instead of now, we will. Nobody is going to tell me that I will be having my children now instead of then!”
Inu-no stood up and walked over to her. “I understand how you feel. But I can’t help it. Court is going to be pushing this law on us. We will have to do as it says.”
“Well, I’ll tell you something about Court. Court is a voting system. The only way a law can be passed is if we all vote for it. I know Kouga will vote against it. I will vote against it. Even Sesshoumaru will vote against it. That is almost half the Court right there. The only way the law will be passed is if you, Izayoi, Hitten and Kanade all vote for it. Judge will decide the final. Even if it was passed, I would not abide by it.
“You will apologize to Sesshoumaru either way. He should be in the Greeting hall by now,” she demanded.
She walked out of the study, Inu-no following behind her. “I am sorry for upsetting the two of you. I did not mean to do that.”
“I understand your reasoning, but you have to be more careful with your words to Sesshoumaru. He takes them at face value sometimes,” she replied as they neared the Greeting hall.
“Hai, I know this. I was not thinking of it when I spoke to him.”
They found Sesshoumaru talking to Kibito by the doors, waiting for the first people to arrive. He watched the two of them walk up to him with the normal emotionless mask in place when around others. She smiled kindly to him and his father nodded his head. Sesshoumaru nodded in reply and turned to face Kagome.
“The first of the guests are to be here in a few minutes. Gather the children and bring them here to greet the guests as well.”
She huffed. “You’re just trying to get rid of me to talk guy talk with them, aren’t you?” she joked.
“Indeed.”
She kissed him on the cheek and took off to find the children. They were chasing after a butterfly that didn’t seem to want to get caught.
“Come on you two. We have to greet the guest with grandpa Kibito and Inu-no!” she called out to them.
They whined about having to do boring things but followed anyway, knowing that they would be in trouble if they didn’t listen to her.
They made it back to the entrance to find the first of the guest walking in. Quickly making their way to Sesshoumaru, she noticed the guests as members of Kouga’s wolf tribe. She mentally groaned, knowing that he was going to start a huge scene the moment he caught sight of her. She prepared herself and watched as Sesshoumaru stiffened slightly, indicating the wolf was nearby.
And as if on cue, he rushed up to her, ignoring everyone around him and grabbed her hand.
“I have missed you, my Kagome,” he paused and took a second, closer look at her.
A growl erupted from his mouth and Kagome quickly pulled away, moving closer to Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru glared harder, if at all possible, at the wolf and quietly growled at him, clearly telling him to back off.
“She was supposed to be mine,” he growled at Sesshoumaru.
“She is mine now, wolf. You would do well to take note of it and leave it alone,” he replied.
“You probably forced her,” Kouga accused.
“I have more honor then that,” Sesshoumaru snarled.
“I had a choice, and I chose him, Kouga. I never wanted to be your wife or mate. I told you that every time you asked me to marry you,” she cut in.
“You were supposed to be mine, Kagome. Nobody else had a right to claim you!” he yelled.
“Lord Kouga! You are stepping out of line. A mating mark can not be undone and you will not treat my family in such a manner!” Inu-no stepped forward.
“Father, stay out of this.” Sesshoumaru glanced at him out of the corner of his eye.
Inu-no stepped back and watched Kouga carefully.
“You’ll either leave or treat my mate with respect Kouga. I don’t want any trouble,” Kagome spoke up.
Kouga glared at her and walked away, mumbling absentees in his wake. Kagome clamped her hands over Rins ears, as to block the foul words to penetrate the young girls mind. Shippo rolled his eyes at this.
“You know she’s been hanging out with Inu Yasha for the past week and he’s been swearing up a storm?” he asked.
“WHAT?!? INU YASHA!” Kagome screamed, glaring at the hanyou whose ears were flat against his head.
Every demon near her clamped their hands to their ears and glared right back at her.
“She’s a little girl! She doesn’t need to know what those words mean or even sound like! If I ever hear of you using such language around my daughter again, I’ll make sure you never have children again!” she screamed at him.
He winced, and tried to back up slowly. “I don’t know what he’s talking about…”
“Don’t give me those lines mister! I know how you are with that filthy mouth of yours. I should just cut your tongue out so you’ll never have to worry about speaking them. How would you like that?!?” she yelled, starting to approach him.
He adverted his eyes to Sesshoumaru for any sort of help. Seeing none there, he looked to his father, who glared at him along with Kibito. He turned to Kikyou who huffed.
“I should let her castrate you! I don’t want my daughter or son ending up with your mouth,” Kikyou scolded.
“But darling! I wasn’t thinking when I said those words! You know that!” he whined.
“That’s right! You never think! That’s why those words always are spewing out of your mouth! Such garbage around a little girl! I can’t wait until you have one and she’s swearing up a storm! Then she can just say you say it all the time! How would you like that?!?” Kagome yelled, finally reaching him.
Inu Yasha coward down into a little ball. “I’m sorry,” he whispered.
Kagome gave him a hard kick in the side. “Save your story’s. If I ever hear of it happening, I’m letting Sesshoumaru kick your sorry ass!”
She turned around and stomped out of the Greeting hall fuming mad.
‘Great! Just what I need! A stupid dad that tells my mate what to do, a stupid wolf that doesn’t know what the word ‘no’ means and a stupid hanyou who has to swear in front of my daughter! Can anything else that’s stupid ruin my day today?!?’ she thought, slamming the door behind her as she entered her room.
She flopped onto the bed in a pile of frustrated woman and grabbed a pillow. Covering her face with it, she screamed as loud as she could before throwing it across the room.
Still not feeling refreshed, she repeated the process, but this time, upon throwing the pillow, she found a new stress reliever, that came in the form of mate.
They laid on the bed, panting for the air that seemed to elude them.
“Wow, who knew frustrated sex could feel so good,” Kagome chuckled.
Sesshoumaru smiled. “I think I should get you frustrated more often. I quite enjoyed that.”
She rolled onto her side and watched him. “You know, I love you.”
“Indeed. That is why this Sesshoumaru loves you,” he answered.
“We should head down there and apologize for that little show. But I’d much rather stay in bed with you.”
“Like-wise, but I’m afraid Lord Hitten should be here and Court will be starting very soon. We wouldn’t want them to miss us,” he replied.
“I don’t care about Court. Bunch of stuffy pricks that don’t care about anything but how it’s going to profit their money collection in the end. They’re all rich enough, you know?”
“Indeed, but we must make a public appearance or they will send someone up for us. I do not wish to be making love to you and have someone banging on the door. And knowing that lot, I’d say they’d send Inu Yasha up, no matter how mad you are at him.”
She huffed and rolled out of the bed. “Stupid people and their stupid stupidity!” she mumbled.
Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow at this. She glared at him and quickly dressed. She picked his clothing off the floor and chucked it at him. He caught it and dressed.
They headed down the stairs to find Inu Yasha headed up them. Kagome glared at him and he backed down a few steps.
“Courts about to begin. They sent me to get you two,” his voice shook. He darted off and out of Kagome’s sight. They made it to Court and quickly took their seats, glaring at anyone that tried to say anything to either of them.
“As you are all aware of the Court gatherings, we are to have all Lords and Ladies present. As you can see, they are. We welcome Lord Sesshoumaru of the Western Lands to your first Court gathering.
“Also, as you are all aware, we have chosen our Judge for this meeting, Sango, the exterminator. We have two spiritual beings as well. Lady Keadea, as acting Miko, and Miroku, as acting Monk. They have already blessed the Court and its people, as you’ve all just witnessed.
“We are here today to discuss the passing of a new law. The law of Lady and Heir. Let Court proceed.”
The booming voice of the High Noble from before boomed out.
Kagome sighed and glanced at Sesshoumaru. Leaning over so she could whisper to him, she checked the crowd. “It looks like it’s going to be a long Court gathering. You might want to get comfortable.”
He snorted slightly. “They’ll drag it out until they get their desired ruling.”
She chuckled slightly, gaining the attention of Kouga, who glared at Sesshoumaru.
“Court has been called today to discuss a new law that needs to be passed. All in favor of this law will proceed to sway the rest of the Court to become favorable. Those against it will have your turn,” Sango stated while opening the floor.
Hitten stood up. “This law states that within the first year of Lordship, you must produce a mate, or in human terms, a wife. By the second year, you must produce an heir, to ensure your lands in case of accidents. It promises safety and stability to the Lands. Anyone knows that if you can control a child, you can control a house. Lands are like a huge house with little apartments in them.
“It’s something to ease the minds of the simple folk that only have to worry about more then ‘what happens when our Lord dies?’” Hitten smiled while sitting down.
“Are there more for the argument to vote for it?” Sango asked.
Nobody rose and Sango sighed. “Who would like to speak against it?” she asked.
Kagome stood up from her spot and stepped forward. “This law is absolute crap! You can’t find a mate just like that. Sure, a wife, but not a mate. And who are you to tell us when we should have children. What if I don’t want children for another ten years?” She huffed at them. “If that’s the case, then you’re screwed. What are you going to do? Try to take away my Lands? You can’t! It’s against the Laws. You’d have to find someone that would be able to kill off the Lord, and that’s also against the Laws.
“I think this is the most stupid and unrealistic law you’ve ever thought about using. Nobody in their right mind would listen to that law. A family is more responsibility then it is to run the Lands. With the Lands, you just go to some Nobles castle, bust a few heads around and tell them how they’re going to be doing things from now on. A family you have to be kind and caring. You have to be there for them when they need you. Ask any parent out there, and they’ll tell you it is a lot easier then farming and running a village. It shouldn’t be passed, and if you do pass it, then I for one will not abide by it!”
She moved to sit down and the room burst into applause. Sesshoumaru leaned over.
“I believe you just got this stupid law dismissed,” he whispered to her.
“I only told the truth, and not some stupid ‘fact’ that I just made up two minutes prior,” she whispered back. “Plus, I told your father the same thing this morning.”
He smirked and watched as Sango tried to quiet everyone down.
“SHUT UP ALREADY!” she screamed, effectively quieting the room. “Now, down to business. Anyone want to retort that?” She glanced around her and noticed the lack of hands. “Anybody want to add to that?”
Once again, there was a lack of response.
“Alright then, all in favor of passing the law?” she asked.
Hitten rose his hand.
Sango nodded and stood up. “Decided by the Court, this law is dismissed, as well as its members.”
She rose and headed towards Kagome and Sesshoumaru. “Good job Kagome. I didn’t think anybody would have the balls to do that.”
“Thanks Sango. We have enough laws these days telling us how to live our lives. I don’t think we need anymore. Plus, that law was really stupid.”
Sesshoumaru nodded. “Indeed. I would have allowed you to disobey it as well.”
Sango smiled kindly. “I’ll talk to you later. Thanks for speaking to Miroku too. He’s proposed, so there’s another wedding to plan for.”
Sango left and Kagome laid her head on her mates shoulder. “Why can’t any other woman plan the ceremonies? I am much to sick of it. Sesshoumaru, tell someone else to do the stupid things!” she whined.
He sighed and gently pushed her up again. “I can not do that. You know this.”
She whined loudly and stood up. “Fine! I’m going to find my dads. They aren’t going to be happy with me about this all, you know. I pity trapped Inu-no into doing it. Izayoi probably followed his lead. Kanade most likely didn’t want to make a fool out of herself by raising her hand after the uproar. Hitten will be fuming though, and I am a little scared to approach him.”
Sesshoumaru nodded and followed her lead. “I will join you.”
They left the room to find Inu-no and Hitten yelling at each other about the outcome of Court.
“You had assured me that you would vote for it. Why didn’t you?” Hitten yelled at the inu demon.
“My son’s mate came out with a good argument. If people had come to disregard the law, we couldn’t do a damn thing about it but tell them they have a little less honor then what they had the previous year. And what if the woman can not conceive? They try and try but it doesn’t happen right away? You know how mate can be for full demons as well. You have to wait until the woman goes into heat to be able to sire a child.”
Inu-no glared at the demon in front of him. “You can’t tell me you didn’t remember this.”
“Lord Hitten, I believe you had it coming to you. You tried to push a stupid law onto the Court and all the Nobles, and someone was bound to object it. If I wouldn’t have, Izayoi would have, or even Kouga. It’s common sense not to push marriage and children onto people.” Kagome shot Inu-no a glare. “It only makes people mad when they are demanded to start a family while trying to settle the Lands back into a daily routine.”
Inu-no looked away shyly and muttered a ‘sorry’ under his breath while rubbing the back of his neck.
Hitten caught the gesture and chuckled softly. “I see why you objected. Inu-no had angered you about it right before Court.”
“I would have done it either way around, Hitten. I’m a woman after all, and I don’t want to be told when I’m going to be having children. It is my choice whether I want any or not,” Kagome answered.
“I see. I do not believe I put the womans’ feelings into the thought when I talked to Lord Inu-no about the law. I will remember to consult Kanade next time I get an idea in my head.”
“You should be consulting your mate beforehand anyway,” Sesshoumaru cut in.
“Right. I did not think.” Hitten bowed. “If you would excuse me, I believe my mate is about to shed my blood.”
Kagome and Inu-no chuckled as he darted out the door and into the gardens to hide from Kanade. Sesshoumaru turned to face Inu-no.
Inu-no meet Sesshoumaru’s eye. “I’m sorry for trying to push you to have children. It was wrong of me to do. Please, accept my apology.”
Sesshoumaru nodded in understanding and acceptance. “It was justifiable at the time. Do not dwell on it longer.”
With that, Sesshoumaru turned around and walked off to find Rin and Shippo. Kagome faced her father and smiled softly. “Thanks dad. At least now things will be easier for the both of us for a while.”
Inu-no nodded and watched as she too took off after her mate and children. He smiled softly as he caught a waft of her scent in the air.
Inu Yasha: You know, Kouga's been trying to fuck Kagome while you were gone?
thehotty: AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I'LL KILL THAT FUCKER!!!!!!!!! *Chases after Kouga who was just knitting a cashmire sweater with a machette*
Kagome: Why'd you lie?
Inu Yasha: Because it's fun watching her trying to kill Kouga.
Sesshoumaru: Who won this one?
Miroku: I believe it was the dear Sango this time.
Sango: Hand over the money men!
Shippo: Next time: What's wrong with Kagome? And why does Sesshoumaru just run off like that? A mating Ceremony to remember!
All: Ja ne!
Kagome: No fucking kidding. We all thought you were dead. What the hell happened to you?!?
thehotty: My boyfriends closest sister died right when we got the internet. Then I had to get a second job. So not only am I working two jobs, but I'm trying to get into college and take care of work around the new apartment.
Sesshoumaru: We shall be nice for now. Just because you started actually working on both the stories agian.
thehotty: Yeah, I have. I've found time between my busy schedule. Be happy and all of you people smile!
Sango: So here's the new chapter!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sesshoumaru shook Kagome gently. “Darling. We are here.”
She slowly woke up and smiled lazily up to him. “Good morning handsome.”
“Good morning. Now, why don’t we go see father? The children have just ran out to greet them.”
Kagome nodded her head and sat up. She watched as Sesshoumaru exited.
“Son! How have you been? You look more relaxed then I can ever remember.” Inu-no held his hand up to shake his sons.
“I am fine. How are you?” he asked.
“Terrific. You know, you should really think about finding a mate. The Court will be on your ass for a long time if you don’t, you know,” Inu-no stated, jabbing his son in the side with his elbow.
“Indeed,” he replied, holding his hand out for Kagome.
She took it and stepped out to greet her fathers. Both stared at her in shock.
“What? No ‘hi’ or ‘Kagome, I’ve missed you’?” she asked them.
They didn’t answer her and she glanced at Sesshoumaru. “They look like they’ve never seen a mated woman before,” she teased.
“I’ve noticed. It is rude to stare at your daughter,” he turned his attention to Inu-no.
“I didn’t expect this. Kouga’s going to have a hay-day,” Inu-no answered.
“It’s what happens sometimes if you leave two people alone with one another for a couple of months. They fall in love. It’s as simple as that,” she answered. “And who cares what Kouga thinks. I never wanted to marry or mate him. I only ever looked at him as a friend, but nobody ever wanted to believe me.”
“Well, come give us hugs. We’ll talk about all this later,” Kibito finally answered.
“Indeed. Miroku and Sango are already inside with the kids. Yura can get the packages,” Sesshoumaru informed Kagome.
“Ok then,” she smiled up at him and they followed their fathers inside.
“Hey, I thought I smelt your stench! What are you doing here?” Inu Yasha asked, glaring at Sesshoumaru.
“Shut up Inu Yasha.” Sesshoumaru glared at him.
“Keh! Like I have to listen to you,” he huffed.
“Shut up Inu Yasha,” Kagome commanded, stepping out from behind Sesshoumaru.
Inu Yasha’s mouth fell open. “What the hell! You mated that fucker!”
“Watch your mouth! The kids are running around here some where. And hai, I mated Sesshoumaru. What of it?” Kagome asked.
“He’s a fucker! A cold hearted prick! Didn’t you listen to anything I told you when I was there?” he yelled.
“Iie. Why would I listen to you? You were bad talking my husband. What if I started bad talking Kikyou? You wouldn’t listen to me, would you?” she shot back.
“I’d tell you to shut your mangy mouth or I’d rip your throat out,” he growled.
“Exactly. So you shut your mangy mouth or I’ll have Sesshoumaru rip your throat out. End of discussion.” She crossed her arms and glared at him harder, daring him to say another word.
“Inu Yasha, leave my sister alone. I am happy for you Kagome. You found someone to love that will love you back, it seems.” Kikyou walked in and smiled at her, shooting Inu Yasha a glare.
“Keh. Yeah, I guess I’m happy for you too. Though I don’t know why it had to be him of all people.” Inu Yasha crossed his arms and shot Sesshoumaru a glare.
Kikyou walked up to Kagome and gave her a hug. “We have much to talk about.”
“Hai. Not to mention another ceremony to plan,” Kagome offered. “Where is Izayoi?” Kagome asked.
“She is in the gardens replanting some things that Inu Yasha tore up,” Inu-no said.
Kagome laughed. “Was he playing fetch?”
He glared at her and Sesshoumaru smirked.
“Hai. His mother chewed him out afterward for the big holes he left,” Kibito answered.
“Father, I believe we have much to talk about. If we could head to the study?” he asked.
“Of course.” Inu-no-Tashio lead the way.
Kagome found she was bored of listening to her fathers drone on about new laws and how this Lord was doing so and so with their Lands. Her mate looked just as bored as she did, noting how he only nodded every now and then.
There was a pause as Inu-no looked down at his papers.
“You know what? I think we should take a break. I don’t think we need to know everything going on here. We have enough papers and stuff at the castle telling us what’s going on where,” Kagome cut in.
Kibito chuckled. “Never was one for politics. Alright then, let’s take a break and we’ll meet back up tomorrow to go over other things.”
They stood up and headed out the door. Kagome smiled up at Sesshoumaru. “I think I’m going to go find Izayoi and say hello to her. Don’t hassle them to much.”
He nodded and watched as she walked down the hall.
“I didn’t think it was going to happen. Well, before I died at least. You had better treat her kindly,” Inu-no said.
“You believe I would treat her any other way?” Sesshoumaru asked, turning around to face his father.
“No, but I don’t want to see her heart break. She is to loving for that.”
“My daughter loves you and you obviously love her, hence the mating. That is all the evidence I need to know you are going to treat her kindly,” Kibito stated, heading down the hall to find his grandchildren.
“I guess he’s right. So, my son, let’s talk grandchildren here. How many am I looking at? One? Four? Maybe ten?” Inu-no asked, wrapping an arm around Sesshoumaru’s shoulder.
Sesshoumaru repressed a sigh. “We have not thought of children yet. Rin and Shippo are enough for the moment. We may talk about it after the ceremony.”
“Ah, that would be wise. Well then, let’s walk, shall we. I think I would like to know what my mate is doing,” Inu-no pulled away and began walking with his son.
They found Kagome and Izayoi discussing Kagome’s current state in the garden.
“You know, I knew you’d get him to mate you. Ever since the day before Kikyou’s and Inu Yasha’s wedding, I just knew it. How often is it that you see someone thinking about someone they haven’t already met in a way you were?”
Kagome blushed as she saw the guys walking up to them.
“What is going on now?” Inu-no asked, raising an eyebrow at the women.
“Nothing dad! You don’t need to know about it. Girl talk, you know,” she replied, covering Izayoi’s mouth before she could tell him.
“I don’t believe that Kagome. You told me about it,” Sesshoumaru smirk at her uncomfortable state.
“That’s different. You were my husband and now my mate. I can tell you if I want. Dad doesn’t need to know about things like that though,” she scolded. “Now you be quite too. Or else!”
“Or else what?” he asked, the smirk growing just a hair bigger.
She glared at him. “Nothing. For two weeks,” she threatened.
His smirk disappeared and Inu-no blanched. “I didn’t want to know about that! I mean I know, but I don’t want to!”
Kagome shot him a dirty look and faced Sesshoumaru again. “I dare you to tell him now.”
“Hn.”
“Just as I thought. Mom, make dad go away!” she whined.
“Darling, run along. I believe the grandchildren are probably looking for you by now.” Izayoi shooed him away from them.
He obediently left two smiling women and headed back into the castle.
“Kami! Knowing him, he would have started hounding you for grandchildren if he would have stayed a minute longer,” Izayoi bemoaned.
“Then you are lucky you didn’t have to hear it,” Sesshoumaru answered.
“Oh no. We just mated and he’s already at it?” Kagome asked.
“Indeed. He seems to be quite impatient.” Sesshoumaru nodded his head.
“Well, he could have picked a better time. There’s too much going on to worry about having kids at the moment. Court’s in a few days, then after that is the ceremony. Doesn’t he have a brain in that thick skull of his?” Kagome asked.
“No, he doesn’t. So, how have you two been? I haven’t received any letters since the wedding,” Izayoi asked facing Sesshoumaru.
“We have been busy getting the castle and the laws put into order. Naraku seemed to not care about anything,” Sesshoumaru replied.
Kagome shuddered and Sesshoumaru put an arm around her in comfort. “Yeah, the kids have taken up lessons too. Shippo keeps insisting he doesn’t need them because he’s a demon. Boy, how wrong he is,” Kagome joked.
“Boys are normally that way. Inu Yasha was a pain to teach anything to. He wouldn’t listen and kept trying to go find his father to train; saying he had to make his demon side stronger or else he’d go all human. Almost hurt my feelings until I remembered he was a boy and not a girl,” Izayoi smiled.
They continued to chat for a while before Kagome and Sesshoumaru left to go gather the children for dinner.
Kagome sat with Kikyou outside by the stream. They had been going over a few fabrics for the pillows for the mating ceremony.
“Kagome. I want to tell you something. Dad doesn’t know about it, so you need to stay quite.” Kikyou looked up from the pink fabric.
“What is it? You know you can tell me anything,” Kagome said, looking up as well.
“Inu Yasha and I have been talking about children recently. We want to start our family now. After all, we have been together for so long. We’d been trying to have them and I finally conceived. Kagome, I’m pregnant!”
Kagome gasped and squeezed Kikyou. “Oh my Kami! You’re pregnant! Do you know if it’s a boy or a girl? I hear inu demons can tell by the scent! I hope it’s a girl. You’ll be able to control it a lot better. After all, they are a lot kinder by nature,” Kagome rambled on.
“Inu-no says it’s a girl and a boy. We’re having twins. Inu Yasha kept bragging to Inu-no about how he did more then his father could. You know, Inu-no’s always wanted a little girl. I want you to help me pick clothes out and stuff. We’ve already picked out the room and cleared everything out of it. We are waiting for the furniture to show up before picking the rest of the things out.”
Kagome smiled. “I’m so happy for you two. How far along do you think you are?” she asked.
“A month and a half. I became pregnant before your second wedding. We didn’t know until we came home.”
They talked more about random things before getting ready to go in to go to bed. Court was the next day and it seemed that there was quite a bit of things that would be announced.
Kagome walked into her room to find Sesshoumaru in an angered state.
“Darling. Are you alright?” she asked.
“My father is being rude and inconsiderate,” he growled out.
“What is he doing now?” she asked, sitting on his lap.
“He demands to have a grandchild by the end of the year. He says that Inu Yasha and Kikyou had managed to conceive, and we have not yet.” He almost yelled at her.
Kagome frowned. “It’s probably what they’re going to say at Court. I will talk to him in the morning before everyone else arrives. He will understand everything when I get finish with him.”
Sesshoumaru growled. “He has no right telling me what I must and mustn’t do. I am a Lord and I am mated.”
Kagome pressed her lips to his to quite him. He pressed her tight to his body while he ravished her mouth, gaining a moan from her.
She pulled away and smiled. “Do you feel better now darling?”
He scoffed and pulled her closer. “I think I need a few more of those kisses first,” he answered.
Kagome found herself waking to a very pleased Sesshoumaru. “Good morning, koi. How are you?”
“Wonderful. I can watch my naked mate smile at me all day if I could. The rest of Court should be showing up shortly. You should go talk to father.”
Her smile disappeared. “Hai. I almost forgot about him. I will go deal with him.”
She got up and dressed quickly. Sesshoumaru gave her a chaste kiss and she left to hunt down her father.
She found him in the study going over a few papers before the rest of the Court showed up.
“Father. I am upset with you. But I’m not the only one upset either. My mate is furious. You can not demand that we have children. We will have them when we are ready for them. If you think a baby is in order, talk to Izayoi about that. Now, you will apologize to Sesshoumaru and then you will leave us alone about it. I will not have it.”
She glared at him with her hands on her hips.
He sighed and rubbed his temples. “Court is going to have this discussion in a little bit. Can this wait until then?”
“Iie! If we decide to have children in ten years instead of now, we will. Nobody is going to tell me that I will be having my children now instead of then!”
Inu-no stood up and walked over to her. “I understand how you feel. But I can’t help it. Court is going to be pushing this law on us. We will have to do as it says.”
“Well, I’ll tell you something about Court. Court is a voting system. The only way a law can be passed is if we all vote for it. I know Kouga will vote against it. I will vote against it. Even Sesshoumaru will vote against it. That is almost half the Court right there. The only way the law will be passed is if you, Izayoi, Hitten and Kanade all vote for it. Judge will decide the final. Even if it was passed, I would not abide by it.
“You will apologize to Sesshoumaru either way. He should be in the Greeting hall by now,” she demanded.
She walked out of the study, Inu-no following behind her. “I am sorry for upsetting the two of you. I did not mean to do that.”
“I understand your reasoning, but you have to be more careful with your words to Sesshoumaru. He takes them at face value sometimes,” she replied as they neared the Greeting hall.
“Hai, I know this. I was not thinking of it when I spoke to him.”
They found Sesshoumaru talking to Kibito by the doors, waiting for the first people to arrive. He watched the two of them walk up to him with the normal emotionless mask in place when around others. She smiled kindly to him and his father nodded his head. Sesshoumaru nodded in reply and turned to face Kagome.
“The first of the guests are to be here in a few minutes. Gather the children and bring them here to greet the guests as well.”
She huffed. “You’re just trying to get rid of me to talk guy talk with them, aren’t you?” she joked.
“Indeed.”
She kissed him on the cheek and took off to find the children. They were chasing after a butterfly that didn’t seem to want to get caught.
“Come on you two. We have to greet the guest with grandpa Kibito and Inu-no!” she called out to them.
They whined about having to do boring things but followed anyway, knowing that they would be in trouble if they didn’t listen to her.
They made it back to the entrance to find the first of the guest walking in. Quickly making their way to Sesshoumaru, she noticed the guests as members of Kouga’s wolf tribe. She mentally groaned, knowing that he was going to start a huge scene the moment he caught sight of her. She prepared herself and watched as Sesshoumaru stiffened slightly, indicating the wolf was nearby.
And as if on cue, he rushed up to her, ignoring everyone around him and grabbed her hand.
“I have missed you, my Kagome,” he paused and took a second, closer look at her.
A growl erupted from his mouth and Kagome quickly pulled away, moving closer to Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru glared harder, if at all possible, at the wolf and quietly growled at him, clearly telling him to back off.
“She was supposed to be mine,” he growled at Sesshoumaru.
“She is mine now, wolf. You would do well to take note of it and leave it alone,” he replied.
“You probably forced her,” Kouga accused.
“I have more honor then that,” Sesshoumaru snarled.
“I had a choice, and I chose him, Kouga. I never wanted to be your wife or mate. I told you that every time you asked me to marry you,” she cut in.
“You were supposed to be mine, Kagome. Nobody else had a right to claim you!” he yelled.
“Lord Kouga! You are stepping out of line. A mating mark can not be undone and you will not treat my family in such a manner!” Inu-no stepped forward.
“Father, stay out of this.” Sesshoumaru glanced at him out of the corner of his eye.
Inu-no stepped back and watched Kouga carefully.
“You’ll either leave or treat my mate with respect Kouga. I don’t want any trouble,” Kagome spoke up.
Kouga glared at her and walked away, mumbling absentees in his wake. Kagome clamped her hands over Rins ears, as to block the foul words to penetrate the young girls mind. Shippo rolled his eyes at this.
“You know she’s been hanging out with Inu Yasha for the past week and he’s been swearing up a storm?” he asked.
“WHAT?!? INU YASHA!” Kagome screamed, glaring at the hanyou whose ears were flat against his head.
Every demon near her clamped their hands to their ears and glared right back at her.
“She’s a little girl! She doesn’t need to know what those words mean or even sound like! If I ever hear of you using such language around my daughter again, I’ll make sure you never have children again!” she screamed at him.
He winced, and tried to back up slowly. “I don’t know what he’s talking about…”
“Don’t give me those lines mister! I know how you are with that filthy mouth of yours. I should just cut your tongue out so you’ll never have to worry about speaking them. How would you like that?!?” she yelled, starting to approach him.
He adverted his eyes to Sesshoumaru for any sort of help. Seeing none there, he looked to his father, who glared at him along with Kibito. He turned to Kikyou who huffed.
“I should let her castrate you! I don’t want my daughter or son ending up with your mouth,” Kikyou scolded.
“But darling! I wasn’t thinking when I said those words! You know that!” he whined.
“That’s right! You never think! That’s why those words always are spewing out of your mouth! Such garbage around a little girl! I can’t wait until you have one and she’s swearing up a storm! Then she can just say you say it all the time! How would you like that?!?” Kagome yelled, finally reaching him.
Inu Yasha coward down into a little ball. “I’m sorry,” he whispered.
Kagome gave him a hard kick in the side. “Save your story’s. If I ever hear of it happening, I’m letting Sesshoumaru kick your sorry ass!”
She turned around and stomped out of the Greeting hall fuming mad.
‘Great! Just what I need! A stupid dad that tells my mate what to do, a stupid wolf that doesn’t know what the word ‘no’ means and a stupid hanyou who has to swear in front of my daughter! Can anything else that’s stupid ruin my day today?!?’ she thought, slamming the door behind her as she entered her room.
She flopped onto the bed in a pile of frustrated woman and grabbed a pillow. Covering her face with it, she screamed as loud as she could before throwing it across the room.
Still not feeling refreshed, she repeated the process, but this time, upon throwing the pillow, she found a new stress reliever, that came in the form of mate.
They laid on the bed, panting for the air that seemed to elude them.
“Wow, who knew frustrated sex could feel so good,” Kagome chuckled.
Sesshoumaru smiled. “I think I should get you frustrated more often. I quite enjoyed that.”
She rolled onto her side and watched him. “You know, I love you.”
“Indeed. That is why this Sesshoumaru loves you,” he answered.
“We should head down there and apologize for that little show. But I’d much rather stay in bed with you.”
“Like-wise, but I’m afraid Lord Hitten should be here and Court will be starting very soon. We wouldn’t want them to miss us,” he replied.
“I don’t care about Court. Bunch of stuffy pricks that don’t care about anything but how it’s going to profit their money collection in the end. They’re all rich enough, you know?”
“Indeed, but we must make a public appearance or they will send someone up for us. I do not wish to be making love to you and have someone banging on the door. And knowing that lot, I’d say they’d send Inu Yasha up, no matter how mad you are at him.”
She huffed and rolled out of the bed. “Stupid people and their stupid stupidity!” she mumbled.
Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow at this. She glared at him and quickly dressed. She picked his clothing off the floor and chucked it at him. He caught it and dressed.
They headed down the stairs to find Inu Yasha headed up them. Kagome glared at him and he backed down a few steps.
“Courts about to begin. They sent me to get you two,” his voice shook. He darted off and out of Kagome’s sight. They made it to Court and quickly took their seats, glaring at anyone that tried to say anything to either of them.
“As you are all aware of the Court gatherings, we are to have all Lords and Ladies present. As you can see, they are. We welcome Lord Sesshoumaru of the Western Lands to your first Court gathering.
“Also, as you are all aware, we have chosen our Judge for this meeting, Sango, the exterminator. We have two spiritual beings as well. Lady Keadea, as acting Miko, and Miroku, as acting Monk. They have already blessed the Court and its people, as you’ve all just witnessed.
“We are here today to discuss the passing of a new law. The law of Lady and Heir. Let Court proceed.”
The booming voice of the High Noble from before boomed out.
Kagome sighed and glanced at Sesshoumaru. Leaning over so she could whisper to him, she checked the crowd. “It looks like it’s going to be a long Court gathering. You might want to get comfortable.”
He snorted slightly. “They’ll drag it out until they get their desired ruling.”
She chuckled slightly, gaining the attention of Kouga, who glared at Sesshoumaru.
“Court has been called today to discuss a new law that needs to be passed. All in favor of this law will proceed to sway the rest of the Court to become favorable. Those against it will have your turn,” Sango stated while opening the floor.
Hitten stood up. “This law states that within the first year of Lordship, you must produce a mate, or in human terms, a wife. By the second year, you must produce an heir, to ensure your lands in case of accidents. It promises safety and stability to the Lands. Anyone knows that if you can control a child, you can control a house. Lands are like a huge house with little apartments in them.
“It’s something to ease the minds of the simple folk that only have to worry about more then ‘what happens when our Lord dies?’” Hitten smiled while sitting down.
“Are there more for the argument to vote for it?” Sango asked.
Nobody rose and Sango sighed. “Who would like to speak against it?” she asked.
Kagome stood up from her spot and stepped forward. “This law is absolute crap! You can’t find a mate just like that. Sure, a wife, but not a mate. And who are you to tell us when we should have children. What if I don’t want children for another ten years?” She huffed at them. “If that’s the case, then you’re screwed. What are you going to do? Try to take away my Lands? You can’t! It’s against the Laws. You’d have to find someone that would be able to kill off the Lord, and that’s also against the Laws.
“I think this is the most stupid and unrealistic law you’ve ever thought about using. Nobody in their right mind would listen to that law. A family is more responsibility then it is to run the Lands. With the Lands, you just go to some Nobles castle, bust a few heads around and tell them how they’re going to be doing things from now on. A family you have to be kind and caring. You have to be there for them when they need you. Ask any parent out there, and they’ll tell you it is a lot easier then farming and running a village. It shouldn’t be passed, and if you do pass it, then I for one will not abide by it!”
She moved to sit down and the room burst into applause. Sesshoumaru leaned over.
“I believe you just got this stupid law dismissed,” he whispered to her.
“I only told the truth, and not some stupid ‘fact’ that I just made up two minutes prior,” she whispered back. “Plus, I told your father the same thing this morning.”
He smirked and watched as Sango tried to quiet everyone down.
“SHUT UP ALREADY!” she screamed, effectively quieting the room. “Now, down to business. Anyone want to retort that?” She glanced around her and noticed the lack of hands. “Anybody want to add to that?”
Once again, there was a lack of response.
“Alright then, all in favor of passing the law?” she asked.
Hitten rose his hand.
Sango nodded and stood up. “Decided by the Court, this law is dismissed, as well as its members.”
She rose and headed towards Kagome and Sesshoumaru. “Good job Kagome. I didn’t think anybody would have the balls to do that.”
“Thanks Sango. We have enough laws these days telling us how to live our lives. I don’t think we need anymore. Plus, that law was really stupid.”
Sesshoumaru nodded. “Indeed. I would have allowed you to disobey it as well.”
Sango smiled kindly. “I’ll talk to you later. Thanks for speaking to Miroku too. He’s proposed, so there’s another wedding to plan for.”
Sango left and Kagome laid her head on her mates shoulder. “Why can’t any other woman plan the ceremonies? I am much to sick of it. Sesshoumaru, tell someone else to do the stupid things!” she whined.
He sighed and gently pushed her up again. “I can not do that. You know this.”
She whined loudly and stood up. “Fine! I’m going to find my dads. They aren’t going to be happy with me about this all, you know. I pity trapped Inu-no into doing it. Izayoi probably followed his lead. Kanade most likely didn’t want to make a fool out of herself by raising her hand after the uproar. Hitten will be fuming though, and I am a little scared to approach him.”
Sesshoumaru nodded and followed her lead. “I will join you.”
They left the room to find Inu-no and Hitten yelling at each other about the outcome of Court.
“You had assured me that you would vote for it. Why didn’t you?” Hitten yelled at the inu demon.
“My son’s mate came out with a good argument. If people had come to disregard the law, we couldn’t do a damn thing about it but tell them they have a little less honor then what they had the previous year. And what if the woman can not conceive? They try and try but it doesn’t happen right away? You know how mate can be for full demons as well. You have to wait until the woman goes into heat to be able to sire a child.”
Inu-no glared at the demon in front of him. “You can’t tell me you didn’t remember this.”
“Lord Hitten, I believe you had it coming to you. You tried to push a stupid law onto the Court and all the Nobles, and someone was bound to object it. If I wouldn’t have, Izayoi would have, or even Kouga. It’s common sense not to push marriage and children onto people.” Kagome shot Inu-no a glare. “It only makes people mad when they are demanded to start a family while trying to settle the Lands back into a daily routine.”
Inu-no looked away shyly and muttered a ‘sorry’ under his breath while rubbing the back of his neck.
Hitten caught the gesture and chuckled softly. “I see why you objected. Inu-no had angered you about it right before Court.”
“I would have done it either way around, Hitten. I’m a woman after all, and I don’t want to be told when I’m going to be having children. It is my choice whether I want any or not,” Kagome answered.
“I see. I do not believe I put the womans’ feelings into the thought when I talked to Lord Inu-no about the law. I will remember to consult Kanade next time I get an idea in my head.”
“You should be consulting your mate beforehand anyway,” Sesshoumaru cut in.
“Right. I did not think.” Hitten bowed. “If you would excuse me, I believe my mate is about to shed my blood.”
Kagome and Inu-no chuckled as he darted out the door and into the gardens to hide from Kanade. Sesshoumaru turned to face Inu-no.
Inu-no meet Sesshoumaru’s eye. “I’m sorry for trying to push you to have children. It was wrong of me to do. Please, accept my apology.”
Sesshoumaru nodded in understanding and acceptance. “It was justifiable at the time. Do not dwell on it longer.”
With that, Sesshoumaru turned around and walked off to find Rin and Shippo. Kagome faced her father and smiled softly. “Thanks dad. At least now things will be easier for the both of us for a while.”
Inu-no nodded and watched as she too took off after her mate and children. He smiled softly as he caught a waft of her scent in the air.

Inu Yasha: You know, Kouga's been trying to fuck Kagome while you were gone?
thehotty: AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I'LL KILL THAT FUCKER!!!!!!!!! *Chases after Kouga who was just knitting a cashmire sweater with a machette*
Kagome: Why'd you lie?
Inu Yasha: Because it's fun watching her trying to kill Kouga.
Sesshoumaru: Who won this one?
Miroku: I believe it was the dear Sango this time.
Sango: Hand over the money men!
Shippo: Next time: What's wrong with Kagome? And why does Sesshoumaru just run off like that? A mating Ceremony to remember!
All: Ja ne!
