Things Lost
Chapter Thirteen
Kagome stood up when he indicated that was what he wanted. The knot was undone on the sash and he opened the robe. She stared at the wall as he bared her to his view. He pushed the robe off her shoulders as he looked over her body. Her body and heart demanded that she cover herself up, not to allow him to look upon her. Yet her mind kept her arms to her side, reminding herself that it had to be this way.
His hand came up to cup her cheek, forcing her to look at him. "Lie on the bed for me."
She moved out of his reach and walked over to the bed. She almost panicked when it became apparent that he was disrobing. Her eyes closed as she layed down, not being able to look at him. He wasn't the one she wanted to see coming towards her. A lump formed in her throat when she felt him climbing over her. His hands cupped her breast, his thumb raked over her nipple. A tear made its way out the corner of her eye.
His head came down to place a kiss on her mouth, she jerked her head to the side. She might offer her body to him but she wouldn't pretend affection that she didn't feel. His knee went between her legs forcing them apart. Her heart cried out when she felt his tip at her entrance. How could she allow this? Could she really give herself to a man that she didn't love or want? Could she live belonging to him for the rest of her miserable life?
A startled gasp escaped her when his mouth latched onto her nipple. She knew he was trying to get her body to respond to him. All she wanted was to push him away and demand that he leave. She didn't want him, it didn't matter what he did. The one she wanted had just walked out of her life without giving her a second thought. He couldn't wait to hand her off on one of friends so he could be rid of her.
A tear slid out the corner of her eye when she felt him force a finger into her unwelcoming body. She felt him pull his finger out for several moments then bring it back. This time it was wet causing it to slide easily into her body. She was begining to feel violated as he pumped the finger inside her. A sob tore from her as he replaced the digits with his tip.
Her hiss of pain filled the room as he tried to push himself forward. Not being able to hold back anymore the tears came freely. It caused him to stop as her body began to shake. His eyes widened when she started backing away from him putting distance between them.
She curled over onto her side hugging her pillow. "I'm sorry, I can't." It was all she could say, even if he didn't forgive her. It didn't matter, she'd have to deal with Koenma's displeasure. If he tried to enforce it, she'd tell him she'd purify any youkai that came near her. She would tear the jewel from her body and hand it over to him before she let herself be with a man she didn't love.
Touya crawled up beside her deciding to comfort her. He was suprised she had waited that long before demanding that he stop. He put his arm around her trying to calm her some as she cried. She didn't protest at his being there. Somehow he doubted that she was even aware of him.
He held her until her sobs became irregular as her tears slowly began to recede. He wasn't sure how long he held her before he heard her steady breathing. It looked like there would be no mating unless the fox decided otherwise.
He got up to put his clothing back on looking down at the girl. She looked peaceful in her slumber her tears having been spent. He didn't like leaving her alone but her friend was in other room. Surely Kurama would be back soon also. He gave her one last look before walking out the door.
Sango put the tray down on the counter and walked over to the phone, it was a little after nine. She'd had to come in early today because someone had called in sick. Not that she had been able to sleep that much. When she had fallen asleep her thoughts had been full of her new friend. He had been pleasant and easy to talk to.
Before she'd known it the sun had come up letting her know that she should have been home hours ago. He hadn't wanted her to leave but she had insisted that her friends would worry if she didn't. So they planned on talking some tonight after she got off.
She'd woken up with enough time to put her shoes on and run out the door. As she ran out she noticed that Kurama and Kagome must have went out. They hadn't been in the living room and his car had been gone leaving her to run to work. She'd been a little late but they had called her in so they didn't seem to mind.
She had a quick break and decided to call the house to see if they were home yet. She dialed the number waiting for someone to pick up. On the third ring Kagome's voice came on the line, "Kagome?"
"Yep."
"Are you okay? Did I wake you up?" Sango nodded as her boss walked past. "I'm working a double shift tonight and I'll walk home. Where did you two go today?"
"Huh?"
"I saw Kurama's car gone when I left, so was just wondering where you two had run off to."
"Oh, I was here. He left earlier today and hasn't come back yet. Hang on, that might be him coming in the door." A scream was heard then the clatter of the phone as it dropped.
Sango stared at the reciever in shock, without thinking she dropped the phone and began running. She shoved people out of her way as she tried to get out the door. Her feet hit the sidewalk in a hurry, her legs ached as she ran.
Kagome dropped the phone at spotting a youkai she'd never seen before coming into the apartment. She should have known it wasn't Kurama. She turned and ran back towards her bedroom where her bow was located. Something wrapped around her waist yanking her back. Her back slammed into the floor knocking the breath out of lungs.
Some type of chain was wrapped around her, the links had spikes on them. She cried in pain as they cut into waist, shredding her robe. Before she knew it she was back in the livingroom, her hands went for the chains. A foot caught her in the side, the sound of her ribs cracking was heard. Tears stung her eyes at the pain. Her hand grabbed the foot that kicked her, forcing her energy into it.
The man's screaming was heard from the pain. Hers followed as he brought his other foot down on her wrist. She felt the bones shatter with the impact. Pain seared across her skull as he delivered a swift kick to her face. She felt the blood running down her jaw as her vision blurred.
She tried to get off the floor, she wouldn't let him get the jewel. She used her good hand to strike out at him catching him across the face. The smell of burnt flesh filled the air seconds before she felt something pierce her shoulder. He yanked the knife back out as she fell to the floor once more.
He was on top of her suddenly yanking what was left of her robe open. "Where is it? Give me the jewel, tell me or I'll rip you open. I'll find it you bitch." His hands roamed over her body, "I can feel it's power calling to me." His hand stopped at her left side near her old scar. "There, thats where you put it."
She screamed at the top of her lungs when she felt his claws puncture her flesh. She tried to buck her hips to dislodge him as he probed her side. His fingers were tearing her open as he searched. Finally, he started laughing as his claws wrapped around what he sought. Kagome felt it leave her body once more, her vision began to swim. Tears streamed down her face as he stood up.
"I thank you for the jewel," He delivered a kick to her injured side. His head snapped towards the door when he felt someone coming. Not wanting any interference, he ran and jumped out the balcony doors.
Sango heard the sound of breaking glass as she got near the apartment. She shoved the door open and screamed, "Kagome, please be alive." Her friend turned her head to look at her. "Thank the gods, hold on I'm calling for help." She ran for the cordless phone, she snatched the number off the fridge. Her fingers hastily dialed the number.
An old person answered the phone, "Hello."
"This is Sango, Kurama gave us this number. Kagome was attacked, I don't know how bad she is, there's blood everywhere." She started crying halfway through her explanation.
"They'll be right over, do what you can till they get there."
Sango didn't bother hanging up the phone, she tossed it aside and went down to her friend. Blood was flowing freely from her side and a hole in her shoulder. "Hang in there, someone's coming." She ripped a few pieces of cloth from her shirt. She tried to stop the wounds from bleeding by applying pressure. Tears fell off her face as she begged Kagome not to leave her.
Kagome opened her eyes, "Sango, he got it. He got the jewel."
"Don't worry we'll get it back, you just hang in there." Sango lowered her head when she saw Kagome's eyes close. "Please you can't leave me, you're all I have."
