The demon within
“How could they be gone?! Where could they go?” Inu yasha grabbed the matteress and flung it across the room as if to be certain it was not beneath.
“What is it what’s wrong?” Sachi came in with her back pack on.
“My shards…there gone!” Kagome looked around panicked.
“They’ve got to be here somewhere! They can’t be gone!” Inu yasha tore through the room.
“Maybe the demon took them! Or his lover!” Sachi squealed.
“I don’t believe in ghosts, Kagome can’t you see them?”
“I can sense them…but there not in this room.”
“Well where the hell are they?!”
“What do you think I am some sort of blood hound?! What am I supposed to sniff them out for you now?!”
Inu yasha growled.
“Don’t fight you guys come on….they’ve got to be here somewhere…” Sachi tried to reason.
“You’re absolutely right my dear.” A sick cold voice called from the hallway.
Sachi turned around and nearly fainted when she saw what stood in the hallway. A tall beautiful woman with dark red and black hair. Her eyes were golden, her skin a pasty green. As the demon smiled it revealed its pointed fangs.
“The shards are still here, but they no longer belong to you…” the smell of death seemed to adorn the demon as if floated gracefully toward Sachi.
“It’s the demons lover…” Inu yasha grimaced as he covered his nose, the smell of the lake mixed with this things flesh was making him gag.
Sachi fled behind Inu yasha.
“N-no…it can’t be…” Kagome stuttered. Inu yasha looked to her, she seemed very shaken, more so than she had ever been before.
“Snap out of it Kagome its just a demon…” he tried to reason with her. After all she had faced far greater threats before.
“No…you don’t understand…that’s no demon …its…”
The Demons eyes narrowed.
“…Mahiru.”

A/N: Shocking isn't it? no not the story...the fact that I've updated...I know alot of you are probably pissed at me but a thing called life has been getting in the way, I just wanted to post this short bit and let everyone know I DO intend on finishing this story, and all of my others...eh...eventually? BTW Brett....LOVE your review...LOL, but seriously thanks for your patience.
