Chapter 14 – InuGod Unleashed!

“Where in the HELL is SHE AT?!” Yelled Inuyasha, to no one in particular. It was late, and very dark, and time for bed, but still no Kagome. He had paced around for the last three hours waiting impatiently for that bastard, Anubis, to return with his best friend.

Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and Kat glared at Inuyasha angrily. They were tired and they wanted to sleep, but he was incessantly moaning and groaning, whining and shouting about where Kagome and Anubis were at.

Inuyasha returned the glare, crossed his arms, and raised his nose in the air. It didn’t matter to him if they thought he was overreacting. Something was weird about that Anubis. The guy just shows up out of nowhere, claiming to be a God from some place called Egypt. The whole thing smelled rotten if you asked him. That dog wanted something from Kagome besides a pleasant chat.

What really pissed him off was how easily HIS pack had accepted the outsider. Just a couple of suave words won their complete trust. Even Kagome fell head over heals for that bastard without thinking twice about why a guy, claiming to be a God, suddenly had the hot's for her. She was usually smarter than that. Maybe Anubis put a spell on her? Yeah. That was possible. Maybe he put a spell on all of them? That would certainly explain a lot, especially why HE was the only one concerned that it was late and Anubis had not returned with Kagome yet!

Nothing good could come of this. Inuyasha was sure of it.

Angrily Inuyasha leapt up to his perch in a tree nearby the fire. When Anubis did finally bring her back, he was going to take that bastard down a notch or two.

Finally Inuyasha’s rant came to a temporary cease-fire, and all those sleepy eyes were able to drift off to sleep.

Kagome was just beginning to awaken after a glorious night’s rest. She snuggled closer to the warmth that was pressed behind her. She half-heartedly made a swipe at something that was tickling across her bare breasts, but whatever was aggravating her only fell right back into place. Suddenly a strong arm tightened around her waist, and memories flooded her mind, causing her to slowly peel her heavy lids open. A slow, lazy smile crept over her face. Kagome turned her head slightly back, and peeked out of the corners of her eyes.

Anubis met her cerulean blue gaze with his own light blue one. A mischievous grin was pasted over his handsome features, earning a giggle from the woman in his arms.

“Ohayoo my Lord,” Kagome said softly. Her voice was deeper than usual, filled with the remnants of sleep.

“And Good Morning to you as well, my beautiful little flower,” Anubis replied in his usual creamy tones. He leaned forward and buried his face in her hair. He drew in a deep breath, filling his senses with her heady aroma. “How do you feel, Kagome?”

Kagome turned over onto her back, and smiled up at her lover. “I feel...” She stretched her lithe form in the same manner as a waking feline. “...surprisingly... Great!” She settled back down, and snuggled up to her inu’s smooth, broad chest. “I always thought that I would be really sore after having sex for the first time, but I don’t feel that way at all. I am, however, starving!”

Anubis chuckled and reached over to the bowl of fruit resting nearby. He plucked a few juicy grapes, then proceeded to tease her by sliding the round fruit slowly over her bottom lip, then snatching it away just as she tried to nip at it. After succeeding in riling her up, he held it still, allowing her to take the fruit into her mouth. He treated her again, and followed the grapes with several ripe sugary figs. Kagome ate her fill, and Anubis then lowered his lips to taste the sweetness of her mouth. “No, my lovely flower. You are now the privileged mother of my pup. You will go down in history as the female who bore the child of the Egyptian God, Anubis,” he proudly replied. He leaned forward to kiss her once more, but suddenly his female went into a fit of hysterics.

“WHAT?!! Are you SERIOUS?! I can’t be pregnant! My mother will kill me! And then Inuyasha will kill me! And.... and... This CAN’T be happening! Please tell you that you are joking?!” Kagome yelled as she scooted back away from Anubis with panic stricken features.

He regarded her with confusion. She wasn’t taking this as well as he thought she would. He had expected her to be somewhat upset, but she was teetering between furious and terrified. Anubis had no idea how to console her. It should be an honor to bare the child of a renowned God of the Dead. He was respected worldwide, in the human, as well as the immortal realm. He reached out to her, but she scooted further away from him.

“Kagome, please calm down. I do not understand. You have been gifted with a great honor by myself. Our child will be born a beautiful and powerful being, and will walk the lands for all eternity. All shall bow to our child’s greatness,” Anubis explained, hoping that she would see his reasoning.

“You have GOT to be KIDDING me! Are you SERIOUS? You think I should THANK you for knocking me up!? I don’t believe this! You ARROGANT JERK! Did you not one time think to ask me how I would feel about this? Did it not occur to you that I might not WANT to have your child?” Kagome screamed as the torrent of tears began to course down her face.

She jumped up and pointed her finger at him angrily. “You think just because you’re a GOD that every female should bow at your feet, begging for you to get them pregnant, but I’m not just ANY female! I didn’t want to get pregnant! I had plans! I had things I wanted to do before I had a family!” She then turned and ran out of the cave where she had lost her virginity to the God of her dreams.

She lost her maidenhood and gained a kid.

He would give her a little time to cool off. He could feel her aura very close. She was probably washing her body in the lagoon outside the cave. He would not let her get far from him, for safety reasons. Though the island was uninhabited there were a few animal species to be wary of.

Speaking of wary, Kagome’s temper was certainly something to be wary of. Never had he encountered a female with such fiery blood. She allowed her anger to overwhelm her, without thinking of the consequences. If he did not care for her so much, then he would never have stood for such insolence from a lesser being. No mortal in their right mind would lash out at a God in such a manner, yet Kagome had.

Anubis sighed deeply, and fell to his back, staring up at the glittering ceiling of the cave. The truth was, that he could not find it in his heart to be angry with Kagome for her outburst. She almost had a right to be angry with him, and he had expected some discord. He had intentionally withheld his true purpose from her, and for that he was willing to accept her harsh words.

The inuGod ran his clawed hand slowly over his forehead and down to his chin in an effort to clear his turbulent mind. She would accept this, and everything would turn out as planned. Wouldn’t it?

Kagome was furious. No, she was beyond furious. How dare he do this to her?! She scrubbed her fingers across her scalp viciously as she cleansed herself. She felt much better now. At least physically. Mentally, however she was a wreck. Her heart was pounding and she wondered if it would ever stop. Her stomach was twisted into a painful knot, belying the panic that she felt. What would she do?

The soaking wet miko climbed from the pool of water, and took a few moments to walk around, admiring the lush tropical foliage, before pulling her clothes back on. She was sure that the bright sunlight would have her nice and dry in no time. Everything was beautiful here, and there were so many varieties of flowers that she quickly lost count. In the distance she could hear the birds singing and the surf pounding.

A slight smile spread as she thought about walking to the beach. Now that she had noticed the crashing waves the sound became more distinctive, and she could clearly follow the sound to the source. With clothing forgotten, Kagome wondered off in her search of a sandy seashore.

He was watching her, as she meandered about the vicinity of the waterfall. She was admiring the beautiful plants and blossoms. He was jerked from his confusing thoughts when he noticed Kagome wondering off toward the ocean. He had already washed his body, so he fell in behind her. She should not have wondered off. She could get hurt without him. He made a note to speak with her about her carelessness. She was a mother now, and should think not only of herself but their pup as well.

Watching the soft swell of her tender derrière jiggling with each step was beginning to have quite an effect on the inuGod. He felt himself harden slightly, and smirked. Perhaps his female would feel up for another round? The smirk graduated into a mischievous grin, and Anubis picked up his pace just a bit.

Kagome was deep in melancholy thoughts when she heard a noise behind her. At first she thought it was only Anubis following her, then the tiniest of seeds began to bloom in her mind. What if it wasn’t him? She had not asked him what sort of wildlife was on this island. Perhaps there were jaguars or tigers?

Her pace picked up a little, and as that silly little seed became more and more plausible, Kagome’s tiny paranoia turned into fright. She refused to look behind her for fear that she would see a hungry tiger, and the craziest thoughts of why she hadn’t taken the time to put her clothes on, flittered across her mind. She mentally berated herself for thinking something so dumb, as she was sure that her cotton shirt would have done her not one ounce of good, in the off chance that she were to be tackled by a two hundred and fifty pound orange striped cat.

Unfortunately for Kagome, she did not realize that something far more dangerous was stalking her...

The little spike of fear very quickly escalated into a full-blown case of fright, and before Anubis could call out to her she bolted like a terrified young doe.

Something began to happen as he moved into the chase. Something untamed and primitive. Anubis felt his inu clawing for freedom. The scent of his female called to his blood. Her delicate musk and buttery fear shook his animal side. His primitive side.

Slivers of silver wound into his ice blue eyes, eating away at the whites and clear blue, until it had overthrown the soft hues with bright, shining, metallic. A growl erupted from his throat as his fangs began to rip through his pink gums growing several inches in length. The pointy ears on each side of his head began to enlarge, and stiffen, taking on a black appearance as they moved into their regal position atop his elongated head. His humanoid form began to pulse, and muscles rippled, bulging to a new massive bulk. The inuGod Anubis, towered now, well above seven feet. His toes and fingers were longer, thicker, and tipped with lengthy, razor sharp claws. His long sleek hair shortened to mid-back, and his normally groomed bangs, spiked about in disarray. Even his skin tone changed, darkening with each powerful beat of his pulse.

A bellowing howl exploded from his chest as the Dog God gave chase.

A horrifying howl ripped through the beautiful tropical paradise, thoroughly sending Kagome into a full-blown state of panic. She KNEW that whatever made that sound was not only behind her, but after her. Call it miko senses, women’s intuition, or basic primal instincts; something told her to be afraid.

‘Oh Kami, if only Inuyasha was here!’, Kagome frantically thought, as her legs carried her faster toward the pounding sounds of the ocean waves. “ANUBIS!, Kagome screamed, I could use a little HELP here!” She panted the words; calling for much needed assistance. She sprinted as fast as her legs would carry her, and then suddenly up ahead she caught sight of the blue waters of the ocean. Kagome burst through the dense foliage and onto a pristine white sandy beach. The waves were crashing against the shore, but she hardly paid the seashore a glance. Instead she turned her attention down the beach toward a rocky cliff. If she could make it to those rocks, maybe she could climb to safety, or at least slow down the predator behind her until her inuGod came to her rescue.

Kagome wasted no time. She raced toward the rocky edifice, gaining speed as she heard the hammering footsteps of her pursuer closing in behind her. Tears trailed down her cheeks as the salty air slapped against her wide, terrified eyes.

She was almost there.

His female was engaged in his favorite game, and he was more than happy to play. He longed for the moment that he caught her. The moment when she gasped as he encircled her waist ceasing her flight, and claiming his prize. Her body glistened in the sunlight. Her muscles taught and strained. The inu crew gathered their supplies. Inuyasha settled Kagome’s backpack over his shoulder irritably. They had waited for her all morning, and still no sign of her. They had decided to get moving, hoping that she and Anubis would catch up soon. Inuyasha wanted to go searching for them, but after much arguing, Miroku convinced him of the senselessness of that action. Anubis was a God, and if he didn’t want to be found, he wouldn’t be. They could only hope for Kagome’s safe return.
