Being Strong

Rin felt herself coming to as she was placed on a bed. Her eyes remained closed, she didn't want them to know she was awake. So she listened as they talked over her.

"So that is the girl?"

"Yes, make sure everyone knows not to lay a hand on her while I am gone. If she is even scratched, you will all be punished. She should sleep until my return." She recognized that voice from the man earlier.

"Yes, master. How long till you return?"

"A few hours at most."

"What about the fox and bat you have locked up below? Shall I kill them now or do you wish to take care of it upon your return?"

"I'll take care of it after I get back. They aren't going anywhere." She felt a hand on her cheek, then it began to play with her hair. "Soon, my angel. You will belong to me." The hand left her.

She waited for several moments then the door shut as they exited. He'd said fox and bat, did he mean Kagome's mates? Had they been captured? She sat up on the bed and looked around. The room was spacious, rather nice. Would he really kill them when he returned in a few hours? She couldn't just let them die. Then again what could she do? She didn't even know where they were. The one guy had said below. He also said that no one was to harm her. She began to form a plan. She grabbed the small knife sitting on the table in the room.

He had obviously left it there with the rest of his breakfast. It still had some blood on it from the raw meat sitting on the plate. "Gross." It only had a four inch blade but it would have to do. She opened the door and stepped out. The youkai standing by the door looked up at her and she smiled at him. "Hello, can you tell me where I can go to wash up? Maybe tend to a few personal matters?"

"There's a bathing room down the hall to the left, its next to the stairs to the basement. Shall I accompany you?"

"I think I can manage to find it. I'm not in any danger am I?" She gave him a sweet smile.

"No one will bother you."

"Thank you, I really want to get cleaned up before the master returns." She curtiesed and twirled around. She skipped her way down the hall trying to act carefree as she went. She took the left he specified. She saw the top of the stairs and peered down. It was kind of dark down there. A scream made her heart stop, she took a deep breath. She was no longer a child, she took the first step down.

Kurama felt the fist land on his jaw knocking him back. The bear youkai laughed as Kurama swung the knife slicing it across his chest. Once again the cut healed as soon as it was inflicted. Thirty minutes ago he'd come down once again to toy with them. Both men had chains on them containing their spiritual powers. There was nothing they could do but try to think of a plan. Kuronue was still chained to the wall while Kurama was forced to defend himself against the arrogant jerk. He couldn't be harmed and they both knew why.

Right before being captured they'd learned who the Master of the castle was. None other than Kado himself. He was giving his minions his blood making them immortal just like him. So the jailer had come back down after partaking once more to play. Kurama hoped the effects would wear off soon but their chances of survival were slowly waning.

The jailer slapped him across the face, pulling the fox up against him. "You sure are pretty. Maybe I should fuck you. I bet you have a nice tight ass. Or has your boyfriend over there loosened you up already."

"I'll kill you before I let you touch me." Kurama stated.

"Fool, you can't kill me." He started laughing loudly. His eyes suddenly got large and he dropped the fox. "What?" His hand reached behind him and up his back to feel the knife sticking out. His fingers came back covered in blood. "How?" He slowly turned to see the girl standing there defiantely. He fell to his knees groaning as he hit the stone floor.

She sighed in relief when he fell, she ran over to the wall and grabbed the keys hanging there. They stared in wonder at the small girl.

"How did you get here Rin?"

"Long story we don't have time. The master of the castle is gone for a few hours." She tried the key on Kurama's chains first. They fell to the floor. She quickly released Kuronue. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, we are fine. Pride's kind of hurt that you had to save us." The bat answered.

"What is that suppose to mean?" She asked.

"Nothing we are glad you are here. But I think it will all be in vain. Most of his minions have drank from him. They will be just like this guy here. For some reason you were able to wound him but you won't be able to fight them all. We will surely meet resistance on the way out." Kurama wanted to leave but he didn't see any options.

"This is what you are going to do." She picked the knife Kurama had recently been holding off the floor. "You are going to take me as a hostage."

"WHAT?" Both men asked.

"Trust me, I got a hunch none of them will risk me getting injured. Just do it, stop questioning me already." She yelled. "If you got to, draw a little blood, I'll be fine. Make it convincing dammit. I don't wanna be here when he gets back."

Kuronue leaned over and whispered. "Who did that just remind you of?"

"Kagome, kind of scary isn't it."

"Shut up, and kidnap me already." She stood in front of the fox trying to hand him the blade.

"What if you get hurt?"

"We don't have time for this. Look," She brought the knife over her palm, blood oozed for several seconds before it quickly healed back up. "Now, lets do this. Its worth a shot."

"Very well." He wrapped his arm around her chest lifting her against his body and placed the knife against her neck. They made their way up the stairs, they didn't run into anyone until they rounded the first corner.

The youkai ran up sword drawn. Kurama took a deep breath hoping the girl was right. "Drop it and back up or she dies."

"Help me." Rin acted like she was trying to struggle. He looked at her then at them. He placed his sword on the ground and took a step back.

"Now, show us the way out." He let the knife scrape across her skin drawing some blood. She hissed at the pain. The youkai nodded. "Try anything funny or run and I'll slit her fucking throat. Now go." The youkai slowly turned around leading them down the long hallway. A few other youkai ran out weapons ready. The one leading them held up his hand, then they saw the girl. Word quickly spread that the two bandits had broken out, and was using their master's intended mate as a shield. None took a step forward, scared the girl would be harmed.

After walking down that hall they were led to a balcony. The man stepped back letting them outside, "You are free now release her."

"Not yet. Kuronue?" Kurama felt his partners arms go around his waist. Like hell they would leave Rin there. "Go. Follow and I'll kill her." They took to the sky. The youkai down below prepared to fire at the escaping prisoners.

The man on the balcony shouted down, "Stop. They still have the girl, you might injure her." There was nothing they could do as the three flew away.


When they were far enough away Kurama sighed, "That was brilliant, Rin."

"Thanks, now remove that from my throat please."

"Oops, sorry. How did you know they wouldn't attack." Kurama asked.

"Seems their master has the hots for me," She smiled at the term. "I overheard him telling them that no harm was to come to me. So I just assumed."

"Take us to Sesshoumaru's, I'll contact Hiei."

He closed his eyes and contacted the fire youkai. 'Hiei.'

'Kurama?'

'Yep, have everyone meet us at Sesshoumaru's.'

'We are already here. Where the hell are you, I was told you had been captured.'

Kurama smiled. 'We were but thanks to Rin, we managed to escape.'

'If you left her there to save your own ass, I'll kill you the moment you arrive.'

The fox was sure he heard concern in the man's voice, 'No, we have her. We should arrive in a bit. By the way we are all fine.'

'Hn.' The connection was severed.
