Chapter Twelve


Inuyasha walked outside right before dawn, to give himself some time to think. Everything had happened so fast, he'd always imagined if he saw Kagome again he'd have time to sit down and speak to her. Minutes after his arrival her daughter had been taken. 'Her daughter, she has kids, by some other man besides me.' He couldn't fault her, everything he'd said earlier was the truth. He'd pushed her away causing her to believe that he wanted to be with Kikyo. Kagome was his life, his heart, even if she did have kids now. He'd only gotten a brief glance at the girl that was taken. But she seemed to have looked a lot like Kagome and the other. He didn't know what to think of her! He would accept her daughters because they were hers and he loved her. Even if he felt like choking that weird looking one. The damn girl was a freak, earlier he'd said something about leaving at first light and she'd stuck her tongue at him. Right in the middle of the damn thing was a metal ball. Like he said weird. He'd wanted to confess his love earlier and ask her to be his mate but knew the timing wasn't right. She was worried about her daughter and it would have to wait till later. After they found the girl, he'd make Kagome his and he'd never let her go.

Michiko woke up not long after the hanyou left the small room. She stretched her arms and legs pulling the cover over her head, she was ready to go back to sleep. A bright smile lit her face recalling the dream, her and Kimi had been sitting by there swimming pool talking about boys. The event held no significant meaning but she took it as a sign that her sister was alive and well. The thought gave her hope and made the day seem more brighter. She got up, grabbing her bag and went to change behind the changing curtain provided. She rummaged through her bag and pulled out her favorite shirt. It was made of a soft material stretching across her chest, which she knew drew attention to her breast. The cleavage wasn't too low but dipped down a bit, the sleeves were long but billowed out at the end. The shirt ended an inch above her belly button, as it was designed to show off her piercing. It was red and her red jeans went well with it as long as they didn't come across any bulls she'd be fine. Then again the bull would be debating to charge her or her mother's new boyfriend. She chuckled at the image and pulled on her boots. All set to go she joined the others who were now waking up. "Morning, mom."

"Morning, dear, why are you in such a good mood?" Kagome stood up deciding to get changed so they could head off.

"I had a dream last night, nothing really important mom but I'm sure it was telling me that Kimi was alive and she was okay." She gave her mom a quick hug, packed up her stuff and headed outside. Sitting outside was Inuyasha staring off into space, and she wasn't going to interrupt his thoughts. She tried to think of everything her mom had told her about him. He seemed rude and a little on the harsh side for her liking. Then again he was what her mother wanted and who was she to try to change her mind. She was sure the hanyou didn't perticularly care for her anyways but he'd get over it. As the old saying went. "Can't please everyone, so might as well please yourself." She dropped her bag beside him, "So where to?"

"Huh, we will head towards the mountains, I'm sure thats where they were heading. With any luck she woke up and was able to get away from them." Inuyasha eyed the girl suprised that she'd strike up a conversation with him.

"How long before we get there?"

"Week, maybe, if the weather holds up." He sighed to himself but the girl heard it.

"You don't sound too excited about going into the mountains. Why is that?"

"Don't know why you'd think that. Going up there doesn't bother me," he responded. Its whom was in the mountains that bugged the shit out of him. He wasn't sure where the wolf den was now but he knew they were there. With the wolf den, was Kouga, and he didn't feel like putting up with that stupid wolf. He recalled the day after Kagome had disappeared that stupid wolf had came demanding 'his woman.' They started fighting again, Inuyasha had been taking his anger out on the wolf. Miroku had shown up and explained to Kouga that Kagome was gone. She wasn't dead but had went back to her time and would likely not return. He hadn't seen the stupid wolf since that day. He just got her back and didn't feel like fighting that wolf over her. With any luck, they'd find the girl before they ran into him.

Kagome stepped out along with the others all prepared to take off towards the mountains. Kagome and Michiko took a spot behind him while the others climbed on Kirara. "Let's go."

They traveled for a few hours before deciding to take a rest long enough to eat and see to their needs. Inuyasha had another reason for stopping. He walked up to Kagome and grabbed her hand. "I'll be back in a bit there's something I need to see to."

She looked away, wondering where he was going. All the times before when he had taken off from the group it had been to see Kikyo. A sad look crossed her face, "Okay, be careful."

He saw the look cross her face, "Don't worry its not what you think. I sense Sesshomaru near, I'm going to go speak with him."


He left her and went in search of his brother and found him only a five minutes from the group's current position. He stopped in front of his brother, who greeted him with a nod. "Didn't think I'd see you this soon. Did you find out anything?"

"Little, did you find the monk and exterminator? I wish to speak to them."

"Yeah and there something you should know. Kagome's back and so is the jewel." Inuyasha felt something jump on his shoulder.

"Did I hear you correctly, Lord Inuyasha, is Lady Kagome really back with us. How is the jewel back? Shouldn't it have disappeared after the defeat of Naraku?" Myouga couldn't wait to see Kagome again, he'd missed sweet taste of her blood. And she'd always been pleasant unlike the two brothers he now travelled with.

"Yeah, shes back, lets head back to the others and we can swap information." Inuyasha turned to lead them back to his friends. He just hoped that girl behaved herself. Over the years, Sesshomaru had become more tollerant of humans thanks to the girl, Rin. But being Sesshomaru he had his limits.

Michiko sat down and decided to pull out her cd player. They were going to be here a while, Inuyasha had left about ten minutes ago or so and her mother had no idea when he'd return. Plus, she needed to unwind abit and music was the best way. She had always loved to dance while Kimi had loved to sing. Not that she had a bad voice herself she just wasn't as good as her sister. She inserted the cd and placed the headphones and started walking away from the group. Stopping only about five feet from the group she cut her player on.

(AN: this song is 'Cause I'm A Blonde' by Julie Brown. Yes. I know another song but I figured this one kind of fit with Michiko so decided to put it in there.)


She threw up her arms and started singing to the song Kimi had once dedicated to her on their fourtenth birthday.

"Because I'm a blonde I don't have to think,
I talk like a baby and I never pay for drinks.
Don't have to worry bout getting a man,
If I keep this blonde and I keep these tanned."
She proceded to shake her bussom.

I see people working and it just makes me giggle,

At this time Inuyasha and Sesshomaru walked into the clearing.

"I never learned to read and I never learned to cook,
Why should I bother when I look like I look.
I know lots of people are smarter than me,
I have this philasophy, 'So what heh heh.'

Kagome smacked herself in the forehead, 'Oh my, what are they going to think?'
Miroku and Shippo however were enjoying the show.

"I see a girl without a date and I feel so sorry for em,
Cause whenever I'm around all the men ignore.

Cause I'm a blonde yeah yeah
They say to make it you need talent and ambition
Well I got a t.v. show and this was my audition.
She placed her finger on her chin, "Um ok, what was it, um ok don't tell me, oh yeah ok,

I took my I.Q test and flunked it of course
I can't spell V.W. but I got a porche.

She threw one hand on her hip and the other in the air and stated.
"I just wanna say that being chosen as this month's miss august is like a compliment I'll remember for as long as I can. Right now
I'm a freshman at my fourth year at U.C.L.A but my goal is to become a verternarian because I love children."

She spun on her foot still singing and spotted Inuyasha and another gentleman staring at her, "Cause I'm idiot." A blush crept across her face, now that was a fine piece of meat. Grade-A.

Sesshomaru walked beside his brother expecting to find his old group once more waiting on them. The new addition was something entirely unexpected. Watching her stand up there and prance almost made him laugh. Such energy much like Rin. As she danced about he quickly studied her. Her hair was a strange color for a human, and there was doubt she was human. Her face was hidden from him because she was still facing the other way. But it gave him a good view of her backside which seemed to fill out the strange pants she wore. He felt his body react as he watched her wiggle her bottom without care for the men she was teasing. 'Why would he, Sesshomaru, be affected by the mere sight of a human female. He'd been around many beautiful demoness', being the Lord of the Western, he'd had his share of women throwing themselves at him. There was no way a mere human woman could surpass a demoness. She turned to face them, scratch that. She was simply stunning, her face was unlike any he'd ever seen. He'd once imagined what angels looked like.

Michiko stammered, "I'm just going to sit down now, yeah thats what I'll do." She plastered her ass next to her bag and looked away. 'Oh my, I feel like such an idiot. The cutest guy I've seen so far and I had to make an ass out of myself.' She was so glad Kimi hadn't been here or she'd would never be able to live it down. She heard tidbits of what was being said, something about a dragon demon and there was a chance he would now be after the jewel. That they were heading into the mountains not only to find her sister but to seek out this demon. And to make matters worse, the prime rib would be joining them. She grimaced to herself wishing the ground would open up and swallow her.

Inuyasha took Kagome's hand, "We'd make better time if I didn't have to carry two of you. Sesshomaru could you carry Kagome's daughter?"

The first thing that popped in her mind was, 'Is he calling me fat?' Then the second part sunk in.

"Very well, this Sesshomaru will carry the girl." He stepped in front of her and grabbed her bag. "Get on, if you don't want to be left behind." Bending his knees, he offered his back.

What, they were expecting her to ride on his back. Inuyasha was one thing, he was her mothers main squeeze but this guy. He made a move to stand back up and she climbed on hoping she didn't do something to further embarass herself.

(AN: in this fic, fluffy has both his arms. I figured Inuyasha is only half demon and he was able to grow a good portion of his stomach back after Sesshomaru rammed his hand through it leaving a big hole. Then fluffy could eventually regenerate his arm, especially after 17 years.)
