The Training Begins

Kagome exited her tent after Kaede left and Sesshoumaru still hadn't moved. How can he sit so still. She stood watching him. From here he looked so calm. You could hardly believe he was such a ruthless killer. She almost laughed when she heard another growl come from him. At least he isn't growling at me this time.

"Are you going to stand there staring at me all day?" Sesshoumaru turned and saw Kagome standing at the tents. Her mouth had dropped opened when he spoke. He smirked to himself at this site. Did the girl really believe that he didn't know she was there. What did she think that he was growling about. He stood and walked over to her. "Do you know that you look like a hatchling waiting for its next meal?"

Kagome slammed her mouth shut and turned away from Sesshoumaru and went to enter her tent. The nerve of him. How dare he speak to her in such a manner. I know we are not on the best terms but surely even he could treat a person better than that. She was about to turn and close the doors of the tent on him when she felt an arm go across her waist. "Eep"

Sesshoumaru had watched the girl shut her mouth hard. He could hear her teeth gnash together. He was surprised that her fangs didn't bite her lip in her haste to close her mouth. He saw her face take on a reddish glow and her eyes sparkled with anger. When she entered the tent he knew she was trying to avoid him but he wasn't going to waste the time waiting for her to get over her anger. He didn't know how long they were going to be here. It was time to start her training. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her from the tent. He carried her to the field outside of the campsite and set her down.

"What do you think you are doing?" Kagome didn't know what to think when she felt his arm go around her waist. When she set her down in the field she turned and faced him.

"We are not going to waste precious time training just because you can't control your temper." Sesshoumaru stepped a few steps back and looked at her. "So what abilities do you have?"

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru's serious face. "The only ones I know about are my miko ones and I don't know if they have changed or not." She almost laughed when she heard the low growl again. It was so much fun getting to aggravate the lord. It wasn't everyday that one got a chance to aggravate the enemy knowing that he couldn't hurt her.

Sesshoumaru watched the girl bite her lip and he could see her body shaking slightly in her effort not to openly laugh. He growled lowly at the girl and couldn't understand why she started to shake more. "Well we will work on your training just as soon as you get yourself under control."

Kagome laughed when she heard him growl. She couldn't help herself. She thought it was funny to hear him growl. Aggravating but funny. "Ok I am ready now." She tried to say this with a straight face but starting laughing when he emitted a low growl again. She had to sit down. She was laughing to hard to stand.

"What do you find so funny?" Sesshoumaru watched the girl laying on the ground in front of him laughing so hard he could smell the salt coming from her eyes. As he spoke the girl only laughed harder so he growled at the girl hoping to scare her enough to get her to stop but that seemed to make the girl worse. He had to wait till the girl settled down.

Kagome laughed all the harder when she heard him growl again. She couldn't help it. His growling put a picture of a puppy growling at a butterfly into her head and before she could stop herself she imagined Sesshoumaru in his true form as the puppy. "I'm sorry" She tried to stop laughing and stood back up. But when she looked up to his face and saw his frown she started laughing all over again. She imagined the puppy frowning.

Sesshoumaru watched the miko. Has she finally lost what little mind she had. And I didn't think she was all that bright to begin with. If she was why would she travel with that pathetic excuse of a half-brother. After a few minutes the miko calmed down and now stood waiting for instruction. "Well its obvious to see that you need to learn control. So we will begin to work on that. So to learn control you must learn to meditate." He kneeled down and motioned for her to join him.

Kagome kneeled down in front of Sesshoumaru. Obviously he took his responsibilities very seriously. "I know how to meditate already. Kaede taught me."

He looked at her. After that outbreak he had his doubts. "Close your eyes and concentrate. You have got to learn to control your emotions. If you let your emotions control you will loose many battles. What would happen if you started laughing and an enemy came upon you? They would kill you before you could stop."

"If I was faced with an enemy I would not be laughing." Kagome closed her eyes and took a deep breath I can't believe how aggravating he is. Does he honestly believe that I would not be able to control myself if I was attacked. I have never found anything remotely funny about fighting. She took another deep breath and exhaled softly. He is not helping me much by putting my down that way. I know I have a short fuse for my temper and it has about reached its mark. If he puts me down again I don't know what I will do.

Sesshoumaru watched Kagome do her breathing exercises. As he watched her she took on a bluish glow. Then she started floating up in the air. As she rose skyward the glow got brighter. He really didn't want to bother her but he couldn't very well let her float away. He stood up and back slightly away from her. "Kagome" He yelled her name nothing happened so he yelled again and watched her eyes open.

Kagome heard him holler her name but why did it sound so distant. He was only sitting across from her. If she wanted to she could have reached out and touched him. After she heard him call her name again this time somewhat urgently she opened her eyes. He wasn't in front of her. As a matter of fact nothing was around her. "Eep" Suddenly she found herself falling. How did she get so far up in the air. She looked down and had to close her eyes. She really didn't want to see herself hitting the ground. This was going to be painful. She braced herself for the worst.

Sesshoumaru watched the girl open her eyes and heard her surprise when she noticed how high from the ground she was. As he watched she started falling. I should let her fall. That would teach her to beware of her surroundings. As he watched her getting closer to the ground he knew that he could not stand by and let the girl get hurt. She was in his care for the time being. He jumped up and grabbed her from the air and gently set her on the ground.

Kagome felt something grab her out of the air. She could feel herself being lowered to the ground. She opened her eyes and found golden ones watching her. "Arigatou Sesshoumaru. That would have hurt."

"I told you to meditate not try and kill yourself." Sesshoumaru turned away from the girl. She is too much trouble.

"I am sorry. It's not like I meant that to happen." Kagome yelled to his back

"You dare raise your voice to me." Sesshoumaru growled and turned too glared at the girl. This Sesshoumaru has had enough of her insolence. He started walking toward the girl but each step he took she took one backward. Did she think she could escape me.

Kagome heard the growl and when he turned and glared at her she didn't think anything of it. But then he started walking toward her. She looked at his face and saw his eyes that scared her more than anything. She knew she saw anger in them before he could control it. In all their battles he had never shown any kind of emotion. When she looked again it was gone. He was getting closer to her. She started backing up. She wasn't about to let the angry lord get ahold of her. No matter what she did he kept getting closer. She knew he could catch her if he wanted to so why didn't he. Kagome kept watching him and backing up.

Sesshoumaru knew he could catch her but he had a better idea. He kept walking toward the girl and she would walk backwards. The girl wasn't even watching where she was going. It wasn't long before he steered her where he wanted her. He saw her eyes get huge as she felt herself falling.

Kagome felt herself falling and was helpless to stop herself. Then she hit the water. She came up choking she had managed to swallow some water before she shut her mouth. Once she could breath again she pushed her wet hair out of her face so she could glare at the demon lord. Then she gasped again. He was on the bank actually laughing at her. She didn't even think he knew how to laugh. So he thought it was funny huh. She would show him. She closed her eyes and concentrated on a spell that Kaede had recently taught her.

Sesshoumaru stood on the bank laughing at the girl. He stopped when he noticed her watching him. He turned to leave and managed to take a few steps away before he was frozen in his tracks. He turned his head and watched the miko saying something soft. He couldn't make out what she was saying though. "Let the spell go miko. It will not do me any harm." Then he saw the purple bubble surround him and he was lifted from the ground. He floated above the stream and then the bubble disappeared. He was to close to the stream to jump or fly away.
He fell into the water.

Now it was Kagome's turn to laugh. Sesshoumaru was now as wet as she was. It served him right for laughing at her. She saw Sesshoumaru move his wet hair out of his face and then he started wading toward her. Uh oh better get out of here. Kagome got out of the stream and started running toward the tents.

Sesshoumaru saw her get out of the stream and head for the tents. He wasn't going to let her get away again. He jumped out of the water and used his tail to catch her. He landed on the ground and pulled her toward him. He knew she wouldn't be able to get away this time. "So you thought that was funny?"

"As a matter of fact I did. I saw you laugh at me after I fell into the water and thought that you would enjoy a dip too." Kagome tried to squirm away from his tail but it only tightened its hold and pulled her more against him. She froze as she felt her chest meet his. Ok this wasn't so funny. It brought to mind her dream and she couldn't stop the blush she could feel rising on her face.

"You will learn not to laugh at this Sesshoumaru." He grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the ground. He was careful not to harm her. "I may not be able to harm you while we are here but we will not always be here. We will get out and then you will answer to me." He released his tail and threw her away from him. "You only have a few day in which to learn to defend yourself. After that you will be on your own. It doesn't matter to me if you learn anything or not. I am only doing this because at the moment I have no other option. The gods say we are going to be mates but believe in this. If I have my way I would never willingly mate with you. No matter what my youki wants." He walked up to Kagome where she had landed. "I will be in my tent when you are serious about training till then do not bother me.

Kagome watched the angry lord walk to his tent. She let him go. No use in making him even angrier at her. At least he didn't kill me. She stood and rubbed her bottom. I am sure to have a bruise from that tomorrow. I will go change into something dry then I will go ask for him to finish training me.
