Cats and Dogs
Riquo wrinkled her nose against the
stench in the damp cage her and Sango were captive in. The cage was in the far,
far back of the cave and no light reached them whatsoever. Luckily for Riquo, she
could see perfectly well what was going on around them. Sango on the other hand
couldn't, and was a nervous wreck about it.
From the short time Riquo knew Sango, she knew that her
demon exterminator training made her stronger than most. It also heightened her
senses. But since both her and Riquo were chained
against a wall at the ankles and wrists...and only Riquo could see when someone
came near...she was a freakin' mess. If she could
calm down a focus maybe she could regain her senses, but she was too afraid of
what they were going to do to her.
"Psst...hey
Sango."
Sango stopped jittering enough to answer,
"Y-ye-yea?"
Riquo sighed, "Look you neo cao calm yourself down ok?
You're making matters worse fourseurself."
"How can I calm down!" she hissed, "I can't
see a thing and I can't sense a thing! What if they try to rape
"You can't sense anything because you won't calm
down!" Riquo hissed back, "if you calm down, you'll be able to hear
when they are around you. And if it will calm you down and make yoel
el
better, I'll growl when I know one of them is coming near us."
Sango swallowed the lump in her throat and tried to calm
herself down with a simple breathing technique. She closed her eyes and slowly
inhaled through her nose and exhaled through her mouth. Riquo's right. I need to calm down. I'm a demon exterminator
rut at the slightest sign of trouble! Ok Sango...be tough
probably looking for you right now....Miroku..
"SANGO!" Riqussedssed.
Sango was pulled from her thoughts, "What?! What's
wrong?"
Riquo sighed, "Nothing, except that I've been trying to
get your attention for the past five minutes! What the hell were you thinking about?"
"N-nothing."
ss=Mss=Mss=MsoNormal>Riquo smirked, "He's looking for you Sango,
don't lose your head over it. We need to figure out a way to get out of
here."
"Is that possible? Can you slice through your chains or
something?"
"Yea I could. But they're smarter than that. They
wrapped the chains around my elbows and upper arms. I can't reach any of my
chains. How about you?"
"Mine are around my wrists and ankles and they're
tight," Sango sighed and thought for a minute, then gasped at an idea,
"hey I've got it! You could transform! That will definitely break the
chains!"
"True, but then we're stuck, literally. My demon form
is probably about seven times bigger than this stupid excuse of a cave."
Sango sighed again, "Well it was worth a shot. How
about we—“
Sango was cut off as Riquo let out a low but loud growl.
Sango frowned and closed her eyes, concentrating. She could hear and feel a
wolf demon approaching Riquo.
It was Baroux.

Inuyasha sat in the corner of Kaede's
hut, listening to Miroku and Shippo argue over what should be done. Miroku
seemed to think we could still trace the wolves scent. Shippo figured we should
just go and get helpp>

&qInuyInuyasha, can we track them by using their scents or
not! The poison has long since cleared, you should be
able to track them now!"
Inuyasha sighed to himself. Please be safe Riquo.
"INUYASHA! Can we track them—“
"NO!" snapped Inuyasha.
The room was silent for a moment as they all stared at
Inuyasha. His eyes were flickering red and his fangs and claws were slowly
growing.
"Inha,
for ye to be losing control of yourself." Kaede advised, shuffling over to
him.
Inuyasha was about to respond when suddenly a rather large
cheetah appeared before him. She stared him in the eyes for a long time.
Inuyasha swallowed a lump in his throat and tried to regain his composure
before anyone said anything else.
The cheetah crawled into Inuyasha's lap and sat there
against him, trying to calm him down. Inuyasha put his hands on her back and
head and just stroked her fur. When she looked him in the eyes again, Inuyasha
gasped. Her eyes...they're
green....like Riquo's…
Inuyasha sighed, "Miroku, it's about to rain."
That was all that needed to be said. They didn't have time
to start tracing them because it would only get them lost. So it was best if
they didn't even bother with that plan. Miroku collapsed onto the floor with his
head in his hands, sniffling. Inuyasha turned his head away and quickly wiped
away the tears that were threatening to fall.
"Shippo."
Shippo winced and slowly walked over to where Inuyasha sat.
He stood there numbly for a while before Inuyasha spoke again. And what
Inuyasha said next almost gave the poor little kitsune
a conniption.
"I need your help."
Shippo's big eyes grew even wider.
No beating. No verbal abuse. Nothing. Inuyasha
actually needed his help.
"M-my help? Why?"
"You can talk to demon animals
right?"
"Y-yes, I can. Every d-demon can understand each others
l-language."
Inuyasha sniffled, "Good, that's good. I need you to be
our translator. Do you know what that means?"
Shippo nodded.
"Good, ask this one," Inuyasha patted the cheetah
in his lap, "how we might be able to find Riquo and Sango."
Shippo asked her in his fox language. The
cheetah in meowed in response. Whatever she said, Ebony stood and walked
over and sat next to Shippo. Shippo nodded.
"She said Ebony knows someone who might know where the
black wolf den is."
Inuyasha patted Ebony's head, "Good girl.
Ebony barked.
"She said Kouga knows."
Inuyasha thunked
his head against the wall of the hut and cursed under his breath.
I can't risk interrupting them during that. We could get killed.
"Alright, we'll go to Kouga's clan and get help from
them."
Shippo jumped up and down, "YAY! We're
see Kouga and Kagome!"
Miroku stood and stretched, "Shippo, tell a few of the
cheetahs to stay here with Kaede."
Shippo nodded and was about to speak before Kaede
interrupted him, "That will not be necessary Miroku. I have lived on my
own for quite some time and I have managed. Besides, ye need all the help ye
can get from these cats here."
Inuyasha nodded and stood, placing the cheetah in his lap on
the ground, "Let's get going. We don't have any time to waste. Shippo,
tell Ebony to lead us to Kouga's den."
Shippo nodded and translated. Ebony barked and walked
outside with everyone. Miroku, Shippo and Ebony ron Kon Kilala's back.
Inuyasha ran on the ground with the cheetah's racing behind him. Hopefully,
they would get to Kouga's clan in time to get to Riquo and Sango.

well, that's not much of a cliffy is it? Hope you enjoy this chapter! School
starts wednesday so I'll try
to get in another chapter by then but I doubt it. I wana
make the next chapter a doozy so it might take a
