The Light in a Darkened Heart

I am so sorry about the long time before this update.  I am a senior
philosophy major in college, trying to get into graduate school and my papers
and tests attacked and subdued me for a while.  However, I do have 4 A's
and a B+ to show for it, so I am very proud.  Hence the philosophy role I
have put Kouga into for this chapter.  I hope to be a professor some day
and education is very important to me.  I hope you enjoy this and can
ignore my educational ranting.  Expect another update soon!
 
 
Chapter - 14 - The Aristotelian Logic of Lust
 
 
As Kouga slowly became entirely aware of his surroundings he also became
aware of a certain body part which happened to be throbbing and aching at that
particular time.  He bit his lip and growled low in his throat.  His
manhood was pressed tightly against Kagome's backside and he had awoken in the

Kagome shivered with anticipation and allowed Kouga to help her onto his
back.  The early morning air was misty and grey, making it difficult for
human eyes to see.  Kouga picked up Kagome's clothing and jumped to the
ground below.  Kagome squealed.  "Kouga, what if someone sees me, I'm
completely naked."  Kouga explained about the fog and the early hour. 
"Enjoy the freedom, clothes are so restrictive.  I'll bet you've never had
a ride, while naked, on a wolf demon before, have you?" 
 
 
Kagome blushed and shook her head.  She wrapped her arms tightly around
Kouga's neck and indicated that she was ready.  The wolf demon took off
with incredible speed.  Kagome felt exhilarated.  The sensation of the

"This spring feeds the lake and is heated by an underground hot air pocket

ask you some serious questions about our future together, now.  Can we
talk?"  She asked.
 
 
Kouga smiled.  "Of course, anything you need to know, just ask."
 
 
Kagome began.  "Are you planning to stay with us until we defeat
Naraku."
 
 
Kouga answered right away. "Yes, I will never leave you alone to fight him. 
I will fight him with you, not just as a protective lover, but also as a comrade."
 
 
Kagome was pleased.  This indicated that Kouga was willing to accept her
equal status without archaic attitudes.  "Okay, now, you do know I come
from the future, right?  I came from a time 500 years in the future through
the bone-eaters well into this time.  You understand that I have family and
educational obligations that I do not want to simply leave behind? 
Although learning had been a struggle since I began coming here, I am very
intelligent and I at least would like the opportunity to further my education
and perhaps put it to use...even if I only use it here.  I want to be
something in addition to being a wife and mother.  My miko training should include a deep
education in history and the philosophy of not just the east but also the
western world.  I know all of this seems strange to you but I also know you
can read and write.  Do you understand what I'm telling you?"
 
 
Kouga laughed again.  "Kagome, although I'm sure in your time you are
privy to far more accurate information than is available in this time, I assure
you I have not only had formal education...I am something of an avid scholar of
philosophy and science.  I know I seem rough around the edges and brash,
and I will not deny that I am those things, but I am also an educated person and
I have a love for knowledge.  I have seen your math textbooks, and I have
even delved into them a little.  It is not anything that I cannot
comprehend or put to use.  I understand your need for knowledge and we will
find a way to keep the well open so that you can pass through into your time. 
You will have your education and perhaps I can take some time to expand my own
with you.  This will be a great benefit to the demon race.  You and I
will preside over my pack but once Naraku is gone there are others who can
manage day to day affairs while we are in your time.  The only stipulation
is that we must return at least once a day or once every couple of days to
ensure that everything is running smoothly.  If trouble comes or there are
disputes I will need you there with me.  You will make a wonderful mediator
once the other wolf tribes get to know you.
 
 
Kagome was in shock.  She had not realized the extent of Kouga's
intelligence or his depth of his understanding.  She felt truly humbled at
his love of her and his love of learning.  Kagome had underestimated Kouga
but it was exhilarating to continually be impressed with something new about
him, day after day.  Not only was he a formidable foe on the battlefield, a
passionate and alternatingly rough and gentle lover, but he was also a scholar
and diplomat.  She sighed.  This was the man she had always dreamed of
by her side.  This was the man who could help her fulfill her every
creative urge and satisfy her deepest desires.  She was so turned on by
this man.
 
 
Kagome took a deep breath.  "Last question.  When did you want to
start having babies?  I don't think I'm really ready yet.  When we
have them, I want to be able to devote the majority of our time to them.  I
also don't want Naraku to ever be a threat to our children."
 
 
Kouga looked thoughtful for a moment.  "My pack was decimated by Kagura
and we are in dire need of pups to grow strong and join our pack.  However,
we have quite a few potential marriages brewing and even some births coming up
between my pack and Ayame's white wolf pack in the north.  We need some
mediation between the packs to smooth things over, however, before any of these
marriages can take place or any of the babies and their mothers can join our
pack.  Will you assist me with this mediation?  I know it is not our
time yet to conceive pups.  I can control the potency of my seed until it
is our time."
 
 
Kagome grinned and pulled him to her.  "I will be thrilled to be a
negotiator and matchmaker.  I love you so much, Kouga!"
 
 
Kouga grinned also and hugged her to him.  "Everything will work out
fine.  We just have to have trust in each other.  Now, where did you
need to be washed first?"  He asked suggestively.
 
 
Kagome blushed and laughed at the wolf.  This was going to be the
longest bath she had ever had.
