Chapter Fourteen!

Verokie plays, Sesshoumaru's ardor!

"Canace you won't be killing anyone today." Ash says with confidents as he moves closer to her.

"Keep your distance Ash you are crazy if you think I will let you touch me."

"Do you fear my touch?" Ash gives a smirk as he steps closer and she backs away from him.

"Monk." Verokie snaps and Miroku turns to see him holding Lulu. "You are to watch her." Verokie says with a stern voice and a look on his face that sends fear shooting through Miroku's bones. "If she falls into anymore harm I will blame you." He sits her down on the ground beside Sango. "Now." He looks back up with a smile and scratches his head. "It is time to play."

"Canace." Verokie smiles as he pops up to her right only to quickly disappear again. "I never really liked you." He spits again as he pops up to her left, she snaps her head to see him but he is gone again. "Down here." He giggles as he takes a peek up her dress Canace tries to kick him but he is gone again she turns in circles to see if she can locate him. "Still here." He waves from his stooped position on the ground with his eyes wide peeking once again up her dress.

"You fool." Canace kicks once again only to miss him as he disappears.

"You really need to get that bush of yours under control."okieokie teases from the top of a tree.

"You will be the first one I kill you little brat." Canace spits as she jumps to stand on the same branch in front of Verokie.

"What the hell is he doing?" Inuyasha asks as he watches Verokie moves closer to Canace on the tree.

"Playing." Ash answers with a smirk.

"Playing?... Playing what?" Inuyasha watches as Verokie wraps his arm around her waist only to disappear again with her.

"Hide-n-Seek" Ash laughs out laud at the antics of his younger brother. "I think."

"Hold this" Verokie laughs as he tosses Canace into Sesshoumaru's chest and disappears once again. Reappearing beside Ash he looks up to him with a large mischief smile. Sesshoumaru in a stunned state at Verokie's stunt is not quick and Canace drops to the ground to land a few feet away from Verokie and Ash.

"You have done it now you little brat I will kill you quickly." Canace warns with a stern look as she pulls her body stiff looking at Verokie.

'Go Verokie' Lulu cheers while she peaks over the rock with Miroku and Sango. Miroku gives a giggle as he hears her thoughts ringing in his head.

"What is so funny at a time likis Mis Miroku?" Sango looks at him angrily.

"Her" he points to Lulu who turns and waves hello to Sango.

"Her," Sango looks at Lulu "so what is your name?"

'Lulu' she smiles while lip-syncing her name. 'Oh sorry you can't hear me' Lulu gives a frown.

"Her name is Lulu" Miroku looks at her and she gives him a big smile and nods 'yes'.

"And just HOW would you know?" Sango spits.

"She told me, I can hear her that is what Ash told me that morning we left you alone. He said you would hear what no one else could. I guess he meant her." Miroku smiles at them both with his award winning grin.

"So." Sango turns back to Lulu "are you and Verokie a couple." Lulu shakes her head 'no just friends.'

"Just friends" Miroku answers still watching the show in front of him.

"You and Sesshoumaru?" Lulu's eyes go wide as she jerks her head back shaking it vigorously. 'No way!' she giggles at the insane thought of her Sesshoumaru. 'I love Ash!' Lulu quickly regrets her thoughts and grabs Miroku's arm. 'Please don't repeat that... please you can't' she begs with a pleading look. Miroku places his hand gently on hers "I will tell no one your secret." He leans down to her ear. "I promise." Lulu smiles and nods her head 'thank you'.

"What?" Sango pries. "I want to know."

"She said that her and Sesshoumaru are not a couple she only travels with him because... ummm..."

'I work for him' Lulu smiles.

"She works for him"

"You do?" Sango looks at her with a questioning look. "What do you do for him?"

'Man she is a nip shit' Lulu sighs. Miroku giggles "Yes but she is mine." Lulu smiles 'ooppss Sorry' but the conversation is cut short as they hear Verokie throw another taunt at Canace.

"Cannot not only are you ugly but you stink like that Earth Demon Domek are you playing under the covers with him these days. I always knew you liked it rough." Verokie smirks.

"Little Verokie, I guess I shouldn't call you that anymore you have grown. However I am still taking you first." Canace reaches to her wrist but gasps as she finds her band is gone checking her other wrist she looks up and gives Verokie an evil look.

"Looking for these." Verokie laughs as he holds up her wristbands that hold her poison needles.

"No matter I will..." she reaches down to her ankles to find her needle bands around her ankles have also been removed she glares at Verokie who swings them around in a taunting motion while showing off his pearly whites. "Shit" Canace curses as she reaches for her waist and finds that band also missing. Verokie laughs harder as her stare becomes montenntense.

Lulu stands up and starts jumping up and down clapping her hands together. 'Go Verokie you did it your so good.' Sesshoumaru shoots her a look as her cheers ring though his bones. Verokie and Ash both look at her as if she is insane. Miroku reaches up and pulls her back down. "It isn't over yet." Miroku warns as he peeks back over the rock.

"I know." Canace smiles as she quickly advances in the direction of Miroku and the two girls. "She will go first." Canace smirks down at them as she hovers above them on the rock. Miroku quickly pushes both girls behind him in hopes of protecting them. However, she is quicker then his eyes and she snatches Lulu up by her hair. Canace then turns to face all four demons as Lulu dangles from her hand like a rag doll. Pulling her skirt up "Poor Verokie if only your hands would have wondered further up" she smiles as she pulls a large thick needle from her inner thigh and holds it to Lulu's throat. "And don't think your disappearing act will help if either of you disappear I will pierce her throat before you can reappear. Now which one of you would like to take her place."

"I will." Miroku answers as he staup bup behind Canace. "You can dangle me from your grip if a sacrifice is what you need."

Canace gives an evil glare at Miroku as she pierces Lulu's neck with the tip of the needle. "I don't want you fool I want one who can help me find the Diary. So just take a seat and watch the show lowly Human."

Sesshoumaru cringes as the needle slowly pierces her neck jumping down from his perch to land in front of Canace. "I will help, I will take you if you let her go." Lulu and Canace's eyes both shoot wide in disbelief of this Demons sacrifice. Verokie, Inuyasha and Ash look at him and shake their heads as if they cannot believe what is happening. "Put her down so we can go." Sesshoumaru says calmly as he turns to leave walking the path that leads to the Snow Caped Mountains.

"You Sesshoumaru." Canace asks in a soft tone "would give up the Diary for a human. I don't believe it"

"I didn't say I would give it to you. I simply said I would help you." Sesshoumaru turns with his icy stare. "As for the human who said I cared."

'NOW there is the Ass I know and love' Lulu spits at him and he turns his eyes slightly her way. Miroku would have laughed at the comment but the situation did not allow him.

"Then why not let me kill her" Canace asks as she pushes the needle a little deeper. 'ouch' Lulu says as tears swell in her eyes from the pain. Sesshoumaru reaches up and touches his neck as if he too can feel the pain.

"If you kill her then we would not be able to just walk away Canace we would have to fight the rest in a battle to the death. These creatures don't take kindly if you kill a friend of theirs and it seems to make them grow stronger if you enrage that anger by killer one they love." Sesshoumaru turns once again "I am tired of this game ... Now are you coming."

Canace turns and gives Ash and Verokie a smug smirk claiming her victory as she pulls the needle from Lulu's neck and tosses her at them. Ash quickly steps forward and catches her. The next thing everyone sees is a whip of lighting shoot from Sesshoumaru's fingertips and cut Canace in half. A faint scream she gives before her two halves start to dissolve like ice in hot water.

Ash sets Lulu down who quickly runs up and punches Sesshoumaru in the arm 'Damn it you had me going. The witch is dead' Lulu starts to sing as she jumps up and down 'the wicked witch is dead. What a wonderful trick I loved it that was amazing' Sesshoumaru looks at the dancing red head trying hard not to smile at her cheers. Miroku scratches his head and starts to laugh as she sings and dances circles around Sesshoumaru. 'So now what... do we all travel together this could be so much fun.' Sesshoumaru looks down at her.

"I don't believe I could handle anymore fun." He spits before walking off alone down the path.

'Always the grump' she spits with a smile as she runs to catch up to him. 'Then what?'

"We go if they follow so be it." Sesshoumaru says without wavering his stare from the path ahead. Lulu nods then runs back to Ash and Verokie. She leans forward placing her palms on Ash's chest as she rises on her tiptoes giving Ash a gentle kiss on the lips she holds it for a few seconds before pulling away. She then smiles a bye to him and grabs Verokie's hand to drag him along with her.kingking over towards Miroku, she smiles 'I am sure we will meet again.' Miroku smiles and gives a slight bow.

Miroku walks over to stand beside Ash who is watching Lulu bounce happily down the path dragging Verokie behind her. "Is she always that happy."

"Mostly." Ash giggles "That is what makes her unique and refreshing. Although I have seen her sad I much prefer her happy."

"I agree." Miroku nods. "Is she the one you meant when you said I would hear."

"Yes."

"But how?" Miroku looks at him with a questioning look.

"Master Miroku your powers grow daily powers that you have hidden deep." Ash places a hand on his shoulder. "Powers to help those in need and well Lulu needs a friend to share things with and talk to. And you are that chosen friend." Ash starts to walk the same path Sesshoumaru and others follow. "Let us get moving it will be dark soon and time for camp."

Kagome runs up and locks her arm in Inuyasha's he turns to look at her with a smile as he caresses her check with his hand. Leaning down he catches her lips in a kiss and pulls her tight to him.

"Inuyasha how do you feel."

"About?"

"Ash being your brother." Kagome turns her eyes toward Ash who is slowly walking with Miroku and Sango down the path.

"That will be something to get use to I guess and I think him and I need to have a talk for more answers. I am kind of happy to know that I have a blood relative that doesn't want me dead." Inuyasha gives a small giggle as he grabs her hand and starts walking down the path following the rest of the group.

Sesshoumaru walks ahead with a small smile perched on his lips as Verokie and Lulu follow close behind, playing around like children. Finally realizing he is stepping out of his shell, he turns to them both with a cold stare. "Stop acting like children you are starting to annoy me." Both stop hitting each other and look at him with gapped mouths Lulu stands stiff and solutes him. 'I ... I captain.' She busts into laughter again as Verokie copies her actions minus the words. Sesshoumaru just lets out a heavy sigh and turns his attentions back to the road before him.

Ash appears beside Sesshoumaru. "Shall we travel the rest of the road together Lord Sesshoumaru since it seems we are all traveling in the same direction."

"I guess you have won this round Ash... I give." Sesshoumaru turns his cold stare to Ash. "But I will not give up the Diary to you or that half-breed brother of mine."

"No I expect this road will get more dangerous as we get closer to finding it However I would like to comment on her ability to tolerant the human girl a little better."

Sesshoumaru glances over his shoulder as he hears Lulu screaming with laughter as Verokie tosses her over his shoulder and starts spinning in a circle. "They are like children."

Ash laughs. "Yes wouldn't you love to be that carefree. I ask Sesshoumaru were you ever that child like." Sesshoumaru gives him an unemotional stare and then focuses back on the path. "I some how doubted it but had to ask it really is a shame you have never enjoyed just living." Ash disappears to join his own traveling group.

All ten travelers walk the long road. Sesshoumaru leading as Verokie and Lulu stay close behind him. Ash, Miroku and Sango travel in the middle not far from Lulu and company as Kagome and Inuyasha bring up the rear with Shippo and Kirara close at their heels. The journey was a quit one except for the antics of Verokie and Lulu which everyone with the exception of Sesshoumaru found amusing. Sesshoumaru stops to scope out the clearing before him when suddenly he is thrown to ground and Lulu sits on top of him laughing. 'I'm sorry I wasn't looking' she leans over and rubs his hair in a playful manner, which earns her a growl. Sesshoumaru stands back up sliding Lulu off his back so she lands with a thud. Everyone else stops dead in their tracks afraid he might do something to her.

Sesshoumaru stands calmly brushing himself off "I was going to stop for the night" He turns his cold golden eyes to Lulu "However since your not tired we will continue on." He turns back to the path.

"We can stop here Lord Sesshoumaru, every one is tired and hungry we are not that far from the mountains only one more days travel and we will hit the foot of the mountains." Ash says smiling as Lulu turns with a smile to see him.

'Yes please I am starving' She turns back to Sesshoumaru who turns to look at her still sitting on the ground. Sesshoumaru goes to extend a hand to help but quickly pulls back before anyone can see. What the hell is wrong with me is she starting to get to me. How can this be I am stronger then this. My instincts now tell me to help were as before I only wanted to harm her. Sesshoumaru cuts his thoughff aff as he turns back around.

"Fine we can set out again as soon as the Sun shows in the sky." Sesshoumaru strolls away from the others to disappear in the surrounding forest.

Ash and Verokie start a fire with little effort and the rest join them around it as the food cooks. "Miss Lulu," Ash smiles handing her a jug of sake. Lulu takes it before sitting down between him and Verokie. As soon as she settles on the ground she goes to lift her bottle Verokie gives a giggle and nudges her in the shoulder she smiles and nudges him back. "Cut it out you two." Ash says while holding back his laughter "it is late stop playing."

'He started it' Lulu points to Verokie as she looks at Ash. Verokie bends done with a mischief grin and bites her finger lightly. 'ouch' she turns to Verokie with a smile 'you little shit' she puts down her jug and pounces on him taking his arm and biting down into it. Verokie throws her back a little harder then intended and she lands in Ash's lap. 'No you don't' she spits as she jumps to tackle him. Miroku laughs and the others watch with a smile. Holding onto his legs curled tight around them 'now that I got you', Verokie giggles and disappears. 'Cheater' she shouts.

Miroku giggles. "It is easy when you can disappear." Lulu gives him a nod. 'But I will get him mark my words.' Verokie reappears behind her to give her a tickle Lulu gives the best growl she can as she wiggles from his grip.

Verokie stands tall with a smile scratching his head. "Did you growl at me. I can't be having that." He looks at her with an evil mischief grin. 'Shit' she spits as she hurries to hide behind Ash sticking her tongue out at Verokie.

"That is enough Verokie let us eat and rest." Ash says as Lulu gives him a mocking look and shakes her head as if she has won this round.

"Fine." Verokie sits to sulk "But I will get her tomorrow."

After filling their bellies with food, they all settle down Miroku and Sango still sit close to the fire as she drifts off to slee his his arms, Shippo and Kirara are snuggled close to her. Kagome and Inuyasha move further away from the group for some privacy. Lulu crashes with her head on Ash's Lap as he sits in deep thought staring into the dieing flames. Verokie has found his pillow laying his head on Lulu's hip he too finds a peaceful slumber this night.

"They get along well." Miroku breaks Ash's thoughts.

"That I am most happy about." Ash reaches down and strokes Lulu's hair. "It is gettchilchilly I better get them a blanket." Ash stands and lays Lulu gently on the ground as he digs the blanket from his bag.

"She is very easy to like even if I could not hear her thoughts I would like her none the less she has a good heart." Miroku smiles as he settles down beside Sango.

"Yes Miroku perhaps to good for her part in this terrible game." Ash says with a sad face as he turns to leave the camp.

"Come on Kagome no one can see or hear us." Inuyasha begs as his hands rome all over her body. "Please."
