Miroku flew for what seemed like hours until he reached a barrier where Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru’s scents must have ended since Kirara could scent them out. She growled a bit as they landed.

“I hope Sobo Kaede will be alright until we get back.”

Miroku stated mainly to himself.

Placing a sutra on the barrier and using his staff Miroku chanted hoping it would be enough to open the barrier for him to enter.

Kagome was busy mixing batter much to the chef’s displeasure since a Lady should not be doing a servant’s work. Kagome insisted though and was pleased to do something for her husband other than sit around being a lump. She was feeling much better since the birth of their Musuko. Fuyuki was a perfect image of his Chichi and that was what Kagome had wished for.

Inuyasha came into the kitchen and watched his tsuma with a smile on his face. Kagome did like to cook although she wasn’t very good at it except when it came to ramen and gruel.

“Kagome can we talk in private for a moment?”

Kagome put down the bowl leaving it for the cook as they went to a more private corner of the kitchen.

“Kagome, I don’t know how to tell you this so I am going to be blunt. Sesshoumaru wishes for me to become his mate……..”

That was as far as he got before Kagome went off on a tangent.

“Is he insane? You two are harakara and besides you are already mated to me. What does he think you are just free to do whatever you please?”

Inuyasha sighed. This wasn’t going so great.

“Kagome we are half harakara and it isn’t unheard of for kyoudai to mate even if we are mated to a female.”

Kagome looked completely frustrated.

“So do you want to be with him?”

Inuyasha shrugged.

“I don’t know. I have always wanted his affection and for him to consider me as an Otouto to him. My Ani has treated me quite poorly in the past, but he is really trying hard right now to be a good Ani. I don’t want to lose that and I am afraid if I do not mate him that his kindness will disappear and he will become an enemy to me again. I don’t want that.’
“Plus there is the fact I might be able to conceive a child if we do mate. I am what demons call a bearer which means my anatomy will change a bit to carry a child like you did.”

Kagome frowned.

“Why didn’t you tell me this before?”

Inuyasha told her the whole story about when he was raped as a child by that fox demon Atsushi and what Atsushi said to him about being a bearer.

“I still don’t know if it is true Kagome since I was still a toddler when I was raped.’
“We all have to get a check up from the healer so I will find out then, but Sesshoumaru still wants me to be his mate even if I am not a bearer. I don’t think I want to be his mate if I am not a bearer, but if I am I would indeed like to bear a child as you have. I would like to know what that feels like even if the sex hurts.”

Kagome sighed. She did understand what Inuyasha was asking from her and hoped that Sesshoumaru wasn’t just doing this so he could hurt Inuyasha more later.

“Look Inuyasha, I understand what you want to do and I will stand by your side, but don’t expect me to like your Ani since he is a total asshole. I can’t believe he would kill the whole village if you didn’t come with him. That was our home and where our friends live. I just can’t forgive him for that and for hurting you so many times.”

Inuyasha smiled.

“Well as his mate I can return the favor if he does go off the deep end.’
“So is it ok then?”

Kagome smiled at Inuyasha. She had shared his love with Kikyo, but it would be different with Sesshoumaru. Kagome knew she couldn’t live forever and Inuyasha really needed someone who would live his long life after she was gone and the two kyoudai deserved some peace after the long battle they had with one another.

Of course Kagome was a bit jealous and insecure about her position in all of this, but at the same time she was open minded enough to know that men in this time did take more than one mate. As long as she was Inuyasha’s first mate she would have to learn to accept the traditions of this time. Kagome just hoped there would be no one else interfering in their love life or she might have to leave Inuyasha forever because her heart could not take more of the same pain she had when it came to Kikyo.

It was a little weird to think of Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru being lovers, but at the same time she was to be accepted in this bond as well and a kinky side of her wished to watch the two gorgeous men together in such ways.

“Ok, but if he hurts you one time I will purify him to death.”

Inuyasha smiled and kissed his Tsuma.

“I am going to make him work for my affections Kagome and I promise I will unmate him if he does anything to harm you or our pup. I truly love you. I want you to know that no matter what occurs you are the person I love the most and no mating will change that.”

Kagome smiled back and then went back to her cooking as she showed the cook how to make these pancakes.

Inuyasha went back into the dining room where his Ani was reading something until one of the fairies floated up and sang to him that the barrier was going to be breeched if he did not do anything about it.

Sesshoumaru looked at Inuyasha who was already standing with his sword at his side.

“Well let’s go than.”

Inuyasha stated as Sesshoumaru flew down with Inuyasha in his arm landing and watching the barrier start to pull apart.

Pulling out his fang Inuyasha watched as a small section of the barrier was opening. Sniffing the air he could smell something familiar. Before Sesshoumaru could strike, Inuyasha placed a hand on his own.

“It is just the stupid perverted Houshi.”

At that Sesshoumaru sheathed his sword and opened the barrier up a little pulling Miroku inside along with Kirara as they both fell forward landing onto the ground.

“It seems I need to give more power to my barrier so that little Houshi’s like you cannot break the spell on them.”

Sesshoumaru stated as he picked up the Houshi by his robes before setting the young man’s feet onto the ground.

“Why are you here instead of with your tsuma Miroku?”

Miroku wiped off the snow from his shoulders as he walked up to Inuyasha.

“Sobo Kaede is ill and we need Kagome or Rin to come to the village to heal her. The villagers are afraid that if they lose Sobo Kaede that there will be no one to heal or protect them in the village.”

Sesshoumaru looked at Inuyasha who looked back at him.

“Tell the humans that I will protect the village since it is on my lands. As for a healer I will send Rin to your village with Kohaku so that she arrives safely.”

Miroku nodded and bowed in thanks.

Inuyasha was about to offer Kagome’s services and that he leave with her to the village to help. However the fact was that someone had to take care of Fuyuki and since Inuyasha was certain he wouldn’t grow breasts filled with milk all of a sudden it was indeed best she stay here rather than dragging everyone out into the snow which was definitely not going to happen with the newborn in tow.

Sesshoumaru then left Inuyasha to talk to his friend. He had more important matters to take into consideration including having the tailor come so that Inuyasha and Kagome would not be wandering his castle in miko and fire rat clothing. He also needed a plan to woo Inuyasha to his side. So far Sesshoumaru had been pretty lucky that his Otouto hadn’t tried to beat the hell out of him for even suggesting they become mates, but that did not mean it was going to be easy to get his Otouto to accept him in his bed yet. With that thought in mind he levitated himself back into the dining hall assuming that his Otouto would join him soon enough.

“So your Ani asked you to be his mate? That is different. I thought he wanted to kill you.”

Inuyasha shrugged. Just because they became mated didn’t mean that Sesshoumaru might not get tired of him and kill him eventually.

“Ya and I have to give him an answer on the verbal claim today, but first I want to be seen by the healer since if I am not a bearer I don’t really want to be mated to a guy. Sesshoumaru is beautiful and all for a man, but that doesn’t mean my ass is going to be his anytime soon.”

Miroku followed Inuyasha while holding Kirara in his arm as the two tails neko (cat) snuggled into his robes falling asleep after the long ride to Sesshoumaru’s castle.

“Well you and Kirara probably are starving. Kagome is making a ton of pancakes so come and eat with us before you leave.”

Miroku nodded.

“I can do that, but I cannot stay long. I will need to get going or Sango will worry since it hasn’t stopped snowing. I was just damn lucky that Kirara could smell your scent so well otherwise I would have been lost in these woods forever.”

As Inuyasha reached the top step he was bombarded with both Rin and Kohaku whose hands were filled with pancakes.

“Master Miroku we brought some of these pancakes for you so we could eat them on the way. How bad is this sickness?”

Rin asked as she called Aun to come.

Miroku took some of the pancakes and nudged Kirara to awaken.

“Sorry Kirara, we have to go.”

The neko mewed out her displeasure, but knew that they had to get back to the village as soon as possible.

“Well I guess I will see you later. Let me know how Sobo Kaede is doing. I am certain Kagome would like to know as well.”

Miroku nodded and flew out of the barrier with Rin and Kohaku on Aun following behind.
