As The Hourglass Spins

Lucian was fascinated with the hospital. There were so many different races of healers working to save their patients which were human, hanyou, and demon. He wanted to explore this place, but first he had to insure his female was well. So he followed his mates to the family ward where Megan was gently tucked into bed.

Megan had an IV that pumped the bag of IV fluid and some medicine into her veins. The bone mending medication was bright yellow dripping slowly through the long tubes. Hojo than had Megan set up for a CAT scan and she would have to go to radiology to have some x-rays done once she woke up.

Lucian looked at the clip they put on Megan’s finger and watched as numbers flashed across the machine that would check her blood pressure and oxygen levels every few minutes.

Sesshoumaru sat next to Megan holding her hand while Inuyasha sat in one of the plush sofas reading one of the magazines.

Lucian was still too curious asking Hojo about the machines and what they were doing. Hojo was pleased that Lucian had an interest in his work, but could not stay long to give out more. Other patients were waiting for him and he still was rather pissed that Lucian had hurt Megan. All he was waiting for was for Sesshoumaru to give the word and the Arctic Wolves would ban against Lucian since none of them were pleased that Lucian was trying to take over the Alpha role from Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru was to try and wake Megan up in a few hours so they could do the tests Hojo ordered for her. So while he waited for Megan to awaken Sesshoumaru tried to come up with a good plan to get them all out of the mess they were in with Lucian. Sesshoumaru refused to remain a beta to any man for the rest of his life. Either Lucian had to give up his Alpha role or unmate them.

Suddenly a door opened and in strode the three Elders and Sesshoumaru in some ways was pleased to see his Grandfather. Perhaps he may be able to help him once he got some time alone with Arashi.

Lucian looked at the three pains in his ass in frustration although he did muster up a smile. If they thought they could annoy him to death again they had better think twice about it. Lucian had learned their tricks and he was not going to fall for them again.

“Lord Lucian, it has been a while.”

Chief stated bowing before Lucian as did his cohorts.

“Yes indeed it has been. Tell me, did you just dress down for me to ogle you or is this a permanent fixture?”

Lucian stated walking around the Chief who was still wearing only a fur kilt and his medicine bag. The other two troublemakers, Arashi and Balachandra, wore nice fitted suits looking like businessmen rather than the hoodlums they really were.

“This is the way of my people and thus these are the only clothes I need. If you wish to ogle me, Lord Lucian, than I cannot stop you from doing so.”

Lucian made an ‘Hn’ sound and then patted his old lover on the ass.

“To think, all those years I had trained you and suddenly you revert back into something like this. It is a shame that you and I share the same name young Lucian.”

Chief frowned.

“I am no longer carrying your name. Chief Catunta Hache hi Thomas is my new name so you do not need to worry about my embarrassing you. I am proud to go by my Native American name and I refuse to be called Lucian except my bastard mates, their wives, and my wife still call me by my given name. It seems I cannot control my mates so I have come to you for advice.”

Lucian smirked a bit.

“I see. Well if you were to have anyone take you seriously you would not dress as you do. My advice to you is to dress yourself more appropriately and only then will I help you with your little problem my little black wolf.’
“I have to say that you are quite amusing so if you wish to still parade around in fur kilts I have no issue with such a thing. I may sample your charms later and this will make it much easier for me to do so.”

Arashi looked at Chief like he was a moron. He told the crazy man that he needed to wear something that fit in with this era, but Chief refused and was still slightly drunk since that was the only way he dared confront Lord Lucian.

“I think our whole agenda has been sabotaged Balachandra.”

Arashi whispered to his brother.

“I guess it will be up to us to fix things.”

Sesshoumaru frowned over hearing the two Elders. His Grandfather had been out of things too long and if he thought that he could fix this situation like they had done in the past they were going to be dealing with not only disappointment, but a rather pissed off demon Lord. Lucian would never put up with them and the last thing Sesshoumaru wanted was for others to get involved in his business. Sure he would have been grateful for some advice, but he was for now still the true Alpha of this era and it was up to him to set things right again.

Arashi looked at Megan in that hospital bed and wished to the gods that they could once again rid themselves of Lucian. He was afraid that their whole plan would fail and with Chief dressed like he was and acting like a crazy old coot they were not going to get very far today.

“We are here to see Megan and there will be others coming Lord Lucian. Your people will fight you if she dies by your hand.”

Arashi stated firmly since he wasn’t going to beat around the bush. Chief growled at Arashi for ruining their whole plan.

“Silence the both of you. I am aware of my current situation with the people. You are not going to annoy me to death either. I know all your tricks and they will not work. I had done such things myself when I was your age.’
“I am going to make certain that my mates are taken care of and if you wish for battle with me I promise you will only find pain and death.’
“You, young Lucian, will speak to the wolf tribes and give them this message. I am here to stay and I will not be going anywhere. If they wish to battle me I will take the challenge, but do not think for one minute I will be merciful to those who oppose me.’
“Also, they will know that I do not take the Alpha position during this reign since I will be training Sesshoumaru for a short amount of time. So far the peace has been maintained and therefore there is no need for me to interfere too much. I have much to learn about this era and I will do so. All I ask of you three is to let the past remain the past since I have learned from my mistakes. There is no need for me to slaughter whole tribes.”

Chief looked at Lucian as if seeing him the first time.

“You admitted you were wrong?”

Lucian grasped Chief around the waist and kissed him.

“Yes little one, I was wrong. I was also not in control when I hurt my dear Megan. This will not happen again.”

Sesshoumaru nodded to Lucian. It took a lot for a man as powerful as Lucian to admit he was wrong.

“Lucian, I do not forgive you, however I do understand you.”

Sesshoumaru stated.

“Ya, besides we won’t have to worry about the suffering you will deal with when Megan wakes up. She is far from done with you and you should be afraid. She will seriously take sex away from all of us again if you are not careful.”

Inuyasha stated with a small smirk.

Lucian’s eyes went wide and all the men looked at him wondering if it would just be Lucian that was going to go without or if she was going to pull out another ultimatum.

“She will not do that. I will over ride her decisions on that matter.”

Arashi, Chief, and Balachandra sighed knowing that their wives would follow Megan to the ends of the earth if she asked them to and would make every one of the males suffer until she decided that the no sex law was over with.

“You can try Lucian, but Megan has speed dial on her cell. I doubt you will get very far since Megan’s law is just as powerful as your law.”

Megan was slowly waking up from that damn sedative Hojo had forced on her.

“Why is everyone so damn loud? Can’t you see I am like in pain and shit?”

Sesshoumaru smiled at Megan only to have her smack him across the face.

“You held me down you asshole. Where is Inuyasha? I am going to give some of this to him too since you all were in cahoots trying to sabotage me since you were coerced by that bastard Hojo. Where is that pain in my ass anyway?”

Sesshoumaru rubbed his cheek for a second, he kind of knew that was coming, but just didn’t expect it to happen until after she was done with her tests.

“Inuyasha get off of that couch and get your ass over here.”

Sesshoumaru ground out.

Inuyasha came over and was grabbed by his shirt as Megan looked into his eyes.

“You were supposed to be on my side Inuyasha. What the fuck were you thinking? I swear that if I have to put up with Hojo than you have to put up with him too and if you ever hold me down like that again than the next time you get pregnant I won’t help you with your donut fetish and I will eat shellfish in front of you.”

Inuyasha panicked.

“You wouldn’t do that to me would you? Come on Megan I love you. Please don’t be a bitch to me. It is all Lucian’s fault you know so make him suffer.”

Megan smiled evilly at Inuyasha.

“That wasn’t a veiled threat Inuyasha. Now where is that asshole Lucian? Did you people hide him again?”

Megan looked around the room after she let go of Inuyasha.

Lucian walked over to where Megan was sitting as Sesshoumaru moved aside to comfort Inuyasha who was ready to cry.

“Megan is just pissed off Inuyasha, it will be fine. I promise she will not eat shellfish in front of you and you will still get your perfect donut.”

Sesshoumaru stated as Inuyasha sighed in relief.

“How are you feeling dear?”

Lucian asked as he waited for a slap or a punch to the jaw again.

“It is your fault I am in this position. What if it would have been one of the kids that had tried to pull you off of Inuyasha? You have no self control and you attacked my Inuyasha when he was just being honest. If you don’t like honesty do not remain mated to us since you will get honestly a lot from the three of us.’
“Sesshoumaru is just being polite, but everyone is in agreement that you are an overbearing asshole who needs to know his place in this pack since you are in a new era. Wake up and smell the Dunkin Donuts since you are obviously oblivious to what is going on here.’
“I know you are lonely and that you have to leech onto people since you lost your woman. We are not a replacement for Celebrían so if this is to fill some empty void you have in your life than you are barking up the wrong tree pal. There is no emerald city for you on the other side of the yellow brick road to come and make things all better for you.’
“None of us wanted an extra mate. We were happy being just the three of us. Normally your mating us would make us eventually fall in love with you or so I was told.’
“Unfortunately that theory only works in fairy tales since I do not love you, Sesshoumaru does not love you, and Inuyasha pretty much hates your guts. That is the blunt truth that you probably did not wish to hear, but as I said before. My mates and I are honest.’
“You are a great lover and sure I enjoyed what we did. Still it does not change anything in my heart. I would have rather been with Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha. I love them.’
”I made the mistake of biting you because I didn’t know what was going on. That was Sesshoumaru’s fault, not yours. Still, does this law of yours make you happy? Did every Alpha just give into your bite or did some fight back?’
“You need to be aware of other people’s feelings. I know that you have been around since like forever, but things change and are you really truly ready to change? Perhaps you need some time to yourself to think about these things.”

Lucian was surprised at how Megan could see right through him. Sesshoumaru and the others watched in amazement like Megan’s head was spinning around.

“I will think upon what you have said Megan. However that doesn’t mean I will unmate you. I know what I am doing here and I have a purpose. I am not ignorant to your feelings either. I do things for a reason that is my own.”

Megan rolled her eyes at Lucian. He was just as stubborn as they all were in the Tashio family.

“Fine, but know someday this might bite you in the ass. Oh, and by the way. No sex for you until we break you on the rack. That means no you and Chief fuzzy but.”

Lucian frowned at that comment.

“What is the rack?”

Sesshoumaru’s eyes lit up and Inuyasha smiled wickedly. If nothing else this would be entertaining.
