Dogs

Sesshoumaru came by to visit Inuyasha’s little family often. If they needed a baby sitter both Kouga and Sesshoumaru practically fought over who got to play with the tiny hanyou pup. Akiyoshi was a very lively pup. Both demons had fun with him and after a time they both just decided to share their time at the same time with the baby.
Inuyasha was a bit worried about how good of influence these two demons were on his son because he was learning that his Uncle Sesshoumaru and ‘Uncle’ Kouga would spoil him rotten when they came.

“Why are you two here I didn’t call for a babysitter.”

Inuyasha stated as Sesshoumaru and Kouga barged into his house like they always did. The jerks didn’t ever knock anymore.

“Give me my little nephew Inuyasha and go with Kouga to do something. I don’t care what, but leave me.”

Sesshoumaru stated as he picked the infant up out of the crib. Kagome was at the hospital working as usual and Akiyoshi was now six months old.

“No, go away Sesshoumaru and give me back my kid.”

Inuyasha tried to get his son from Sesshoumaru, but Sesshoumaru pushed both Kouga and Inuyasha out the door then locked it.

“Hey this is my house you jerk!”

Sesshoumaru shoved some money under the door.

“Go have fun. I am bonding with my nephew.”

Inuyasha pounded on the door, but Kouga dragged his best friend away. He had plans for Inuyasha and after finding out the boy had been a virgin all these years he had to give him some hell. It was also a good way to pick up women since Inuyasha seemed to be a target for cute girls. They adored him even with his foul mouth and Kouga now used him as a guinea pig for dating by sending Inuyasha over to start things.

Sesshoumaru sat in the rocking chair and rocked his favorite new pet. Akiyoshi was his as far as he was concerned and Inuyasha was not going to keep him from this child.

“I am sure your parents have driven you insane without me haven’t they little one.”

The baby giggled up at his Uncle as he yanked on that long silver hair. Sesshoumaru never winced, pulled away, and he allowed the pup to even chew on the long silky locks. Wrapping his tail around the child his scent was all over the baby now.

“I have claimed you and you know that don’t you? I did this with your Father, but that is our little secret ok? He was not as good as you. He is a brat still, but I will help you tolerate him.”

Sesshoumaru smiled down at his nephew who giggled then burped. Sesshoumaru lifted the pup up and offered his finger once again to the baby. Kouga did this and had the nerve to whimper. The coward, the pup’s fangs were not that bad and he needed this nourishment.

“You will be very strong Akiyoshi. I will insure you live as long as your Father at least, but don’t tell him that either. I like having him think that I know everything and he knows nothing. He is smarter then he looks and next time he holds you pull his hair for me.”

There was a knock on the door and little Akiyoshi barked startling Sesshoumaru for a moment.

“When did you start this pup?”

It was Inuyasha at the door.

“Sesshoumaru let me in my house because I ain’t going to help Kouga get laid.”

Sesshoumaru unlocked the door.

“You may enter your home, but do not think you are taking the pup from me little brother.”

Inuyasha sighed.

“Do I ever get to hold my own son?”

Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes and handed the pup to his Father winking at Akiyoshi who grasped a good handful of Inuyasha’s hair and yanked hard.

“Ouch! You are a tough guy aren’t you?”

Kouga came in and Akiyoshi started barking at him. It was funny as hell and Inuyasha smirked.

“I taught him that. Wimpy wolf isn’t going to steal my kid.”

Sesshoumaru started laughing as Kouga leaned by the door.

“Yeah, yeah. Whatever mutt face, you teaching him to bite wolves too?”

Kouga smirked at his little nephew and grabbed him from Inuyasha.

“Mine now!”

Then he raced with the pup down the hallway with Inuyasha chasing after him. Some things never change.

Inuyasha watched as the two year old went to the Christmas tree for the first time. He was more fascinated with the boxes then the presents he got.

“Daddy! Look! It is big box!”

Inuyasha grinned as Kagome sat resting. She was pregnant with their second child and looked rather tired. She had three rambunctious males in her home on a daily basis with a two year old who acted ten times more mature then the others. Sesshoumaru however was treating her much nicer then he used to.

The three men scared poor Hojo away from the house for good and so he didn’t come around to visit anymore. Kouga and Sesshoumaru were coming to the Christmas Party with Kouga bringing a new girlfriend. Sesshoumaru had broken up with his twentieth girlfriend that month. The guy couldn’t settle down and didn’t want to. He refused to bring sex around family. It was a rule he had.

Of course all three men would be talking about sex all night long and Sesshoumaru had nights he was with more than one woman at a time making the other two men call him a real asshole. Then of course they asked for the details while Kagome went into the other room to talk to her friends from work. Boys would always be boys.

When the group arrived for the party presents were then opened as everyone enjoyed watching the little ones have their fun.

Sesshoumaru and Kouga bought the two year old a car that he could drive around the living room. Inuyasha bought him a bunch of things that the men played with more than Akiyoshi who was hiding in one of the big boxes with a bunch of his new toys in there. He dragged more of them in and growled at them if they came to close. Sesshoumaru smiled down at his nephew.

“So this is your new den huh? Can I come in and play?”

Akiyoshi grinned at his Uncle who was his favorite person in the world.

“Uncle Sessy!”

The two year old practically flew into Sesshoumaru’s open arms and had to show his Uncle every toy he got. Sesshoumaru told him how fascinated he was with everything and played with his nephew a bit until the other cousins came over.

“How come you have ears on your head Akiyoshi?”

One of his little human cousins asked wanting to touch them.

“My Daddy has them too see! Fuzzy!”

Akiyoshi grabbed both of his ears and pulled up.

“But, why? I don’t have them.”

Sesshoumaru knelt down to explain. Most of the cousins understood and it was very refreshing to know Kagome’s family was very open to their demon nature.

“Because little one, Akiyoshi is a half demon like your Uncle Inuyasha and therefore he is half dog demon.”

The little boy frowned.

“I am afraid of demons. They are scary.”

Sesshoumaru smiled.

“I am a demon, do you find me frightening.”

The boy shook his head no.

“Sometimes on TV they make things up and it is not true. Do not believe everything humans tell you and if you have questions I will be happy to answer them for you.”

With that Sesshoumaru let them alone running his fingers over his nephews head gently then patting the other child on the head before going to talk with the adults.

The kids were being good for a while until one of them pulled Akiyoshi’s ears. It was then all three males and one angry Mother came over to sooth the pup. Dog ears were very sensitive and it took a good half hour to calm the little toddler down.

Soon it was time to tuck everyone in and go to bed. Sesshoumaru left heading back home feeling a bit put out. He couldn’t stand being away from his nephew. It was so hard to walk away from that sweet little face. Inuyasha yelled at him to get one of his own. Sesshoumaru said as long as Inuyasha was producing pups he had no reason to join in and soon he would have another one for him to train.

“These are my children Sesshoumaru, not yours.”

Inuyasha grumbled.

“Yes, I am aware of that Inuyasha. I just know that without me guiding you these pups would turn out just like you. I am trying to save them from the embarrassment of doing as you have done your whole life. Things like getting into trouble, dating dead women……”

Sesshoumaru stated grinning as Inuyasha fumed.

“You live for this don’t you? Tormenting me every damn day.”

Inuyasha grumbled.

“Of course, I told you that I would do this to you. Did you not listen again? Do I need to pull your ears Inuyasha to see if they still work?”

Sesshoumaru almost walked out the door when Inuyasha pulled him to the side.

“Look, you are not getting any younger damn it all. Aren’t you ever going to find a mate and settle down? You and Kouga are driving me insane. You guys should be the ones going out all the time not me and Kouga. I am married. I have a kid and another one on the way. I would like at some point to spend some time with them.”

Inuyasha was serious this time.

“Little brother, how many times do I have to tell you I don’t want to mate a human and the damn world is full of them? I can handle having sex with one on occasion, maybe more than one on occasion, but that isn’t breeding with them. I do have some pride left.”

Sesshoumaru stated softly.

“Look I know it is a pain in the ass, but look at my kids? You love them don’t you? Well if you love them think of how great it will be to have some of your very own you get to keep?”

Inuyasha stated and Sesshoumaru leaned against the wall.

“That means getting married for me and that is a big deal to me. I mate for life. I might be a dog demon, but I mate for life. Kouga did, but obviously that didn’t work. Still he is connected to Ayame and will be forever. That is what happens with mates. You don’t understand demons Inuyasha. A human woman will die before me and I will not choose another after her to be with in such a way. Then I am alone for all eternity.”

Sesshoumaru stated as Inuyasha then realized the problem. Smiling he had a brilliant idea.

“Hey, you said they were just in hiding, these demons right?”

Inuyasha stated as Sesshoumaru looked at his conspiring brother like he wasn’t sure if he should listen to him.

“Why are you pushing this Inuyasha?”

Sesshoumaru stated firmly frowning since this was once again a subject that he really didn’t want to get into with his ‘matchmaking’ little brother.

“Because you are lonely and need a woman. So does Kouga, but he is beyond help in my eyes. That wimpy ass wolf couldn’t do anything right in my eyes though even if sometimes he worth talking to.”

Kouga came out of the room.

“What you mumbling about now mutt face?”

Sesshoumaru couldn’t help laughing a bit. Kouga had really good ears.

“I can get a date and I have no problem with beating you up still mutt. I suggest you shut your big fat trap. I am not hopeless.”

Inuyasha snorted.

“You couldn’t run circles around a play ground you dope let alone help Sesshoumaru find a demon to mate.”

Kouga without thinking with his head as usual when he was around Inuyasha just blurted what was on his mind at that moment.

“I can to find the asshole a demon mate! Just because you were a virgin and can’t grow a damn tail doesn’t mean I can’t help your brother out. The girls just don’t want to be with you because your fucking ears are too big.”

Inuyasha knew Kouga would fall for it.

“Ok then moron, find him a demon mate then.”

Kouga growled back.

“I can do it and you are just jealous it isn’t you. Come on Sesshoumaru lets go find you a demon woman.”

Sesshoumaru looked at the two idiots like they were nuts.

“Who said I agreed to any of your idiotic ideas? Neither one of you has enough brains to fill a ramen noodle cup let alone find me a mate. I can do this by myself. I won’t have either of you mucking up my life.”

Kouga frowned and then turned to Inuyasha.

“What did we do wrong?”

Inuyasha shrugged.

“I don’t know, he is just moody all the time. Want to come back inside?”

Kouga nodded.

“Sure, can I crash here tonight then?”

Inuyasha looked at Kouga like he lost his mind.

“Hell no you idiot wolf, I do have my standards too and don’t get your fur all over the house.”

Kouga patted Inuyasha on the back as the two best friends smiled knowing Kouga was going to be spending the night so they might as well have Kagome know that the hide-a-bed was going to be put out for another guest.

Sesshoumaru walked the cold streets of Japan after leaving Inuyasha’s house fuming at the audacity of his brother and Kouga. Damn them both for making him feel like he was a fool and damn them for being right. He was indeed lonely and wanted a mate. It was fucked up and he didn’t know how to fix it. Where were all the damn demons anyway?

Inuyasha was right about having a baby of his own. Every damn time he saw Akiyoshi he wanted him for his very own. It was like raising his brother’s son and like raising Inuyasha when he was at their home. Sesshoumaru couldn’t wait for the other baby to be born. It was as though he felt like he was the Father not the Uncle.

Sesshoumaru felt tears come and wiped them away. It was unbecoming of a demon to show such emotions. Racing into the night he turned into his true form and flew once again far away from his family before he took over their lives.

When he landed this time, he was somewhere new. He was in the United States again, but another part he had not visited. It was filled with mountains that had very few trees and different smells then before. More earthy smells and the rocks of the mountains were so numerous that it seemed like they gathered together to make a mammoth monument for themselves.

“Amazing.”

Sesshoumaru whispered to himself since he didn’t think there were such mountains other then in Japan. Mt. Fugi was an old volcanic sight with a crest of white snow covering the top. Here it was the same, but the whole mountainside was covered in soft powdery white. It was like small crystals melting in his fingertips.

He wasn’t cold. Demons don’t get cold like humans do. Sesshoumaru was warm and felt comfortable. Suddenly something in his demon dog said roll in this fluffy stuff. So he did and raced through it flinging it into the air. It was fun for a time. It was like a dog’s paradise.

As he raced he ran into a wooden sign that said avalanche warning, Jackson Hole National Park and Ski Resort with directions. Sesshoumaru looked down the mountain and pushed at the snow. Suddenly it all came flowing down upon the trees and the rest of the snow met up with the rest at the bottom of the mountain. This was fun. Sesshoumaru raced over and howled causing another avalanche on the other side and raced down it getting his paws stuck for a moment until he used his acid claws and drool. In doing so he built himself a nice den of ice and snow.

Sesshoumaru crawled into the space only to find there was a hole in the mountain. How exciting and wonderful. He had to go explore it. There was nothing else to do.
Going inside in his humanoid form he found the walls had been carved by human hands. This would be something he would have to look up on the internet later. He had to find out how they did this. Traveling through the tunnel there were railroad tracks, arrows on the walls in some places, dates, and as he got further in he felt the ground fall beneath his feet. Levitating above the hold he looked down to see that the chasm went for miles. So many great places to explore. Yes, he had to learn more about these tunnels.

Inuyasha would love this, but he was a grumpy Father now who didn’t like to hang out like this much anymore. That was it, the damn wolf was going to have to stop fornicating with the humans and come explore with him. He would drag Kouga’s ass here even if he didn’t want to come. He had to show someone who wasn’t going to whimper about the cold.
