Tears and Blood

A/N: Sorry so much for not posting like mad. I’ve been busy to high hell. So you’ll have to forgive me somewhat. Anyways, I would like to thank my new Beta, Kami. Thank you so much! –bows-. Anyways, here’s the next chapter.

Chapter Thirteen: Tears and Blood.

The scream echoed though out the whole Hot Springs, alerting all three men. Without even thinking of putting their clothes back on, all three of them rushed out of the springs and off to the girls. Both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha made it first, both with swords in their hands.

“What’s going on?!” Inuyasha cried as he ran into the scene.

Kouga laid on the ground, a hand mark on his face, and blood coming out of his nose. From the looks of it, the wolf ran into the girls bathing, and they freaked.

Kagome turned and glared at Inuyasha and Sesshomaru. “Both of you!” She screamed. “Take him and get out! Have you men no common courtesy?!” She grabbed Random rocks and began to throw them at the four men.

Sesshomaru moved quickly and grabbed Kagome’s hand. “Calm down.” He said, his voice soft.

Kagome glared at Sesshomaru. “All four of you, go away!” She snapped, pulling her arm away from the Taiyokai.

Sesshomaru frowned and left the spring. Leaving, he grabbed Kouga from his ponytail, a sinister smirk on his lips. Oh, the wolf will pay. He will pay dearly for making his mate upset.

**

“Kagome, don’t you think that was a bit harsh?” Sango asked, a little worried about Kouga.

Kagome crossed her arms and huffed. “Hell no! I mean, we’re bathing for kami’s sake! Sure we could have been in big trouble, but both Inuyasha and Miroku were ogling us! We’re not some nude super models.”

Both Kikyo and Sango blinked in confusion on what she just said before letting Kagome continue on her ranting.

“And Rin’s here!” She snapped. “I mean, she’s what, ten? Men their age couldn’t see her naked! Not even Sesshomaru. He may be watching her, but that doesn’t give him the right as well to see the girl naked.”

“Kagome-chan, please calm down.” Rin said softly, touching her arm.

Kagome sighed and tried to relax somewhat. It was just that Kouga came out of no where and scared her and the other girls. On top of that, he decided to pick a perfect time to say how grateful he was that she was still there. Normally she wouldn’t care, but she was naked, and there were three other girls naked, and Shippo as well. So she slapped him, Sango threw a rock at him, and the wolf was easily knocked out. And on top of that, the other men showed up! What else could go wrong?

**

“Kagome, I told you I was sorry!” Kouga argued. His nose looked broken, and one of his eyes was black. Kagome could only guess it was Sesshomaru and Inuyasha’s fault. Kagome sighed as she was trying to tend to Kouga’s wounds.

“You still shouldn’t have sneaked up on us.” Kagome snapped. “Anyway, hold still alright?” She turned her angry gaze at Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. “You two could have just talked to him instead of beating him up like this!”

“Ha! The wolf deserved it!” Inuyasha snapped at her.

“Sit boy.”

Silence…

Kagome, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo stared at Inuyasha, while Inuyasha stared at Kagome. Nothing had happened. Right then Kagome remembered why nothing was going to happen. His beads were still at home, sitting on her desk. Instantly Kagome’s face went red from embarrassment.

“Oops! Silly me, I forgot that I took the beads off of you didn’t I?” She said with a nervous laugh. She stood up and continued to laugh as if it wasn’t a big deal. “I’m going down to the river real quick alright? I need to gather up some water. Kouga, Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, how about you three go hunting? Rin, how about you, Sango, Kikyo and Shippo go fishing? Miroku, you can tend to the camp! That way we can all do something?” With that said, Kagome ran off into the woods. She needed to be alone for a moment because more then ever she felt like she was going to cry.

As she approached the river, Kagome began to cry silently. Yes, she was Sesshomaru’s, but Inuyasha was still a close friend of hers. The only connection she honestly thought she had with him, were the beads that he wore around his neck. She took them off and took them with her so she could break that bond. It was like they were almost strangers now. Inuyasha kept sending her looks that said, ‘why my brother?’ every now and then. It didn’t seem fair. She did loved Inuyasha at some point, and he left her for Kikyo. In a way, she felt bad because she fell in love with Sesshomaru soon after. A smile crossed her face as she remembered why she fell in love with Sesshomaru in the first place.

Unlike Inuyasha, Sesshomaru was kind to her. Sure he had an icy personality, but when Kagome dug deeper, she found that he was kind and sweet. She had a soft side that he couldn’t’ show to anyone just in case if someone used it against him. She couldn’t’ blame the Taiyokai. After all, he was supposed to be some strong yokai that was to be feared. Sesshomaru couldn’t show a soft side at all. He had created a cage around his heart, and it was Rin first who began to hack away at the bars. Then Kagome came around and took down the rest.

Wiping away her tears, Kagome took a deep breath and calmed herself down. She didn’t need some stupid beads to be Inuyasha’s friend. And If Inuyasha couldn’t deal with the fact she was now with Sesshomaru, then fine. He could sit there and sulk. But Kagome wasn’t going to let it get to her.

She dipped the canister into the clear water, humming to herself. She felt so much better now. So much that she was ready to face the world. She pulled the canister out of the water and stopped instantly. The creek began to turn different a color. At first, she didn’t know what it was till it hit her. The river was turning into blood…

She gasped and dropped the canister only to realize that there was only blood on her hands, and inside of the canister. She wanted to scream, but it wouldn’t come out. Fear racked her whole body, and froze her insides. Tears once more began to fall down her eyes as bodies began to float down the river, each man, women, and even children with no heads floated down.

In the distance, Kagome heard Rin scream out. That was enough for her to break out of her trance. Instantly she took off running for the camp, as if she was running for her life. She couldn’t explain the fear that ran though her body for she had never felt like this before. It felt like death was right behind her, nipping at her heels.

“And where do you think your going Kagome?” Naraku’s sinister voice whispered in her ear.

Kagome stopped and looked around for two things. Naraku, and a weapon of some sort. There, in front of her, stood the yokai his baboon cloak no where to be found.

“Did you like my present Kagome?” He smirked.

Kagome felt like she was going to be sick to her stomach. “You’re a sick bastard Naraku.” She growled. Kagome knew better. Unless if one of the guys showed up, she was in big trouble. Kagome had no arrows, and she had no weapon of some sorts. “What do you want?”

Naraku chuckled. “You my dear.” He reached out to her, as if he was going to grab her right there. “You escaped my grasp the last time, but this time there is no one to save you. No wells for you to jump down from either.”

“What do you mean?”

Naraku smirked, his blood red eyes baring deep into Kagome’s. “The bloodied river will throw off the wolf, and those dog’s scents. The first one to scream out was Rin, but good luck finding her. Inuyasha will tend to Kikyo, the monk will tend to his slayer, Sesshomaru will run after the human girl, trying to save her wretched life, and I’m sure Kouga is trying to look for you. But he won’t find you. After all, your scent is now mixed with the blood on your hands, thus dulling your scent a well as mine. So no one is going to save you.”

Kagome’s eyes widened. Naraku had thought of every little angle, every little possibility, just to make sure that everything went to his plan. But there was one thing that Naraku couldn’t stop. Their acute sense of hearing.

The girl opened her mouth to scream, but before she could, she felt harsh lips on her own, followed by pain though out her body. Soon, the world began to turn black around her. Only one word escaped her lips before she passed out.

“Sesshomaru…”

TBC…
