Golden Eyes

Mirage woke up in a rather fancy room. It was lit up by some ceiling lights that from the knob on the wall could be toned down. As she sat up Mirage realized she was not alone. There was that man who was Charlie’s boss standing in the room looking at her. This had to be a dream. There was no way this was real.

Then Mirage felt her hand being held turning to see that Charlie was there. Mirage wanted to slap him so she turned away from him only to look at another man who was wearing cool sunglasses leaning against the wall. All three of them were looking at her. It was unnerving to say the least.

“Mirage how are you feeling?”

Kouga asked in concern as Mirage looked at him trying to figure out what is going on.

"Charlie this is not funny. What the hell did you do to me and where am I?"

Mirage growled out as she tried to sit up. Her head hurt like hell. Kouga pouted since he knew Mirage was pissed at him.

"I did not do this."

Sesshoumaru spoke up.

"I did. You hit your head when you left our office in such a rush and so I carried you back here to be seen by my private nurse. You also lost your job. I called and now you are going to work for me and for the federal government. Charlie didn’t tell me that you were prior military and I need an assistant who was. You are to be paid twice as much and will have much better benefits than at your previous job.”

Mirage about lost it and would have really yelled if her head wasn’t hurting.

“Whose bright idea was it to make me lose my job? I swear Charlie I am going to make you pay in blood for this if you don’t explain things. What about my home? My life is not here, my home is not here, and my son is going to worry about me. I need to get going. You cannot just hold me prisoner here.”

Kouga sighed as Sesshoumaru smirked a bit. He indeed would hold her prisoner if it came down to it and was not beyond the whole idea of tying her up to force her to be his mate if she defied this whole scheme he set up. Lord Sesshoumaru did not waste billions of dollars for just anyone.

“This is to be your home until further notice. Here are your new orders. You are to be my personal assistant. All of your things are being transferred to this complex. I am a DOD Civilian Contractor working for the military, same with Charlie, and my brother Ronin Tashio."

Mirage grabbed the orders from Sesshoumaru and groaned. They were not just signed, but notarized. There were official stamps, a passport with a very horrible driver’s license picture used as a passport picture.

“You used my driver’s license? I didn’t think that was legal.”

Sesshoumaru handed her the passport photos he had taken by his personal friend.

“These are legit. I didn’t want another assistant since your credentials are excellent my dear. I had a feeling about you and Charlie just confirmed it.”

Mirage gave Kouga a dirty look and frowned feeling like she was being had by three assholes. She probably was, but her head was in no condition to fight them.

"What the fuck........they wouldn't do this to me! I just got my stuff organized and I don’t want to fucking move again! I can’t just…….damn it Charlie! I said I would help you not fucking move to California! I wasn’t ever coming back here. Do you get that? I had a life, now I get to have it up heaved and Bobby just made a bunch of new friends. You are an asshole sometimes…. A selfish, stubborn, asshole! A Sagittarius my ass! You are a pain in the ass! I am not going to be your damn subordinate either!"

Sesshoumaru smirked at the swear word she used not expecting it, but it was a good sign that this woman would be very free in the bedroom if she could use such foul language so easily. Yes the dirty talk would make this mating a lot of fun. Still he tried to keep a straight face as Inuyasha coughed a soft bullshit that only Sesshoumaru could hear. At that Sesshoumaru handed him and Kouga a copy of her orders

"Holy shit, these are real."

Kouga stated as he stood up reading the legal document while ignoring Mirage’s tantrum. Of course Sesshoumaru would blame everything on him. What other way could the jerk punish him for hiding Mirage?

"Yes I noticed that Charlie. What the fuck did you do to me? I maybe could have talked my way over to the Middle East after Bobby turned 18, but now I am stuck on shore duty until a date is determined? When could they do a stop loss like this on me and as a damn civilian too? I am a contractor now, but who ever said I wanted to be one? How do I get out of these?"

Sesshoumaru spoke up and was pleased that she did indeed understand military terminology since it would make things much easier.

"It is not a stop loss my dear. It is to be determined because they had not come up with a date yet and there is a modification that will be processed later. I need a personal assistant and they stated you are the best. I have heard nothing except good things about you and therefore I requested you personally. There is no way to get out of it and I will not take another."

“What if I suddenly decide to really suck at the job?”

Sesshoumaru looked down at Mirage with humor sparkling in his golden eyes.

“You lost your job dear, you need a new one. You need money coming in that is steady and you have a child. Go ahead and call your former job. I guarantee you will not be back to work next week and your house is being packed as we speak. I have more pull and more money than you can imagine. I always get what I want.”

Mirage snorted.

“Well I ain’t for sale pal.”

Sesshoumaru sighed.

“I am not buying you; I am in need of your services as my assistant. I don’t have time to look for another and my time is limited. I need you to help me.”

Kouga and Inuyasha were in a bit of a shock. That was as close to begging as Sesshoumaru would get, but he was indeed begging for her to stay with him. That meant that this season he had to mate or he would find someone on the damn street. Kouga was in some ways glad Mirage was the one Sess liked, but hated him for it at the same time since Mirage was supposed to be his intended. He knew her longer damn it.

Mirage sighed. It was a lawful order and there was no way to fight it. Plus she was too tired to fight it.

"What about my son? Oh shit........Bobby! I can’t just sit around here. He is waiting…….what time is it Charlie? Damn it someone here has got to help me get to my son. Since you are the one who put me in this position Charlie it should be you helping me."

Mirage's eyes went wide in panic and Kouga grasped her shoulders gently settling her back against the pillows.

"Bobby is here Mirage. Raiden brought all of your things, your son, and your dog here. Your dog is in the kennels with our trainers. Believe me she is being spoiled like you would not believe."

Kouga stated as Sesshoumaru smiled wickedly at Kouga. Mirage's dog was with Miroku and Sango who were obsessed with Mirage’s dog. She already had a new diamond collar and any other luxury that a dog might ever wish for since the fact was they were all dog demons except for two of the females. Dogs knew how to take care of their own.

"When can I see him? Bobby has got to be completely pissed off about this whole thing. He just made new friends and things were going well at the school. I need to explain everything."

Sesshoumaru could tell Mirage was not happy about this, but she was not freaking out like he had expected. In fact she was being quite rational and her concern for her son would make her an excellent Mother to his pups. It was amusing to watch Kouga try to console her only to have Mirage slap his hands away.

"I am not talking to you right now Charlie. I was tricked and I am not happy with you."

Mirage growled. Kouga nodded keeping his hands to himself, but not moving away from her. If he could just get five lousy minutes alone with her he could explain things, but Sesshoumaru wanted to keep the deception up a little longer after their agreement. Mirage would decide who she wanted.

"You can see him soon. He is being seen by the doctors since we have to update everyone's shot records and medical charts. Your service records are already here, or what was left of them. It will not be long before you see him and I will explain all your duties to you. For now we will leave you to dress and get yourself together. There are cloths in the closet for you to wear and an account has been set up for anything you may need. We can go over all of that later. We have a formal dinner tonight so you will dress appropriately and if you require a stylist to assist you I can send one over. You will be dressing up often so we had to come up with formal gowns to add to your collection. You have some very fine things, but I don't think we need to go that formal considering this is a job for you and I do not wish for you to be uncomfortable while working with me. If you have questions you can call these gentlemen and they can explain more to you."

Mirage took the business card from Sesshoumaru with the name of an Admiral and then a second card with this Officer's Assistant. It was acceptable even if she did not wish to do it. If the military needed her to do it she would and besides it would indeed be better as far as benefits went for her son if it were legit. So far it seemed to be so and no matter what Mirage’s gut said she would have to do something to take care of Bobby. It was not an order that was unpleasant, just unexpected.

Requesting her cell phone made the men frown, but Mirage wanted to make sure no one was lying. When she called her job she about cried. She really had been let go of and they stated they couldn’t rehire her back since they were overstaffed. They were actually looking at letting people go anyway so they told her to enjoy her time with her new job. Her supervisor was sympathetic, but seemed overly happy to be rid of her and that she should just love this new job she had. Everyone seemed to know more than Mirage did and it was fucked up.

Hanging up, Mirage called this Admiral’s office where she was greeted with the same damn enthusiasm and a welcome back although technically she wasn’t back in the Navy. It was a civilian job, but they seemed awful happy about it. It was too weird.

Mirage looked at the three men giving them a bit of a dirty look since they were all damn conspirators. Still, she had to have a job. Raiden was right about that and she was in quite a pickle so rather than complaining she might as well get started.

"Fine let’s get started then. I won't need a stylist though. I will be ready in 20 minutes."

Mirage stated firmly as she looked at the men waiting for them to leave. At last they got the hint as she got up from the bed and looked at them annoyed. The three of them left closing the door behind them.
