Just a Little Rivalry

Disclaimer: Nope, not mine. Nope, that’s nothing in the closet. Oh, you think you hear someone yelling “Iron Reaver Soul Stealer”? That’s nothing; don’t worry about it. I already said I don’t own Inu Yasha.

A/N: To answer Danny’s Girl’s question (and clear it up for anyone else that is unsure), Rin is Miroku’s little sister. Sesshomaru is just fond of her-as is the rest of the family. (Nice and friendly family.) (Families meet through their children and become friends all around…some of you know how that is.)

Chapter 13: Who’s there?

“What the fuck do you want, you bastards?”

“Why, Inu Yasha, we are here to visit with that sexy little morsel that was with you earlier. Now, be a good boy and let us in.”

“Go to hell!”

Sesshomaru, who was infamous for his lack of patience, had had enough and decided to put an end to this.

“You shall remove your persons from this property or you will find your bodies removed for yourselves.”

“I will be most happy to leave once Kagome has come out and talked with us.”

“Naraku! You asshole! She has no interest in you. She hasn’t even met you,” Inu Yasha was getting more and more angry with the two brothers present at his front door.

“Naraku, Muso, you will leave NOW!” Sesshomaru said, his voice quieting in his fury.

Naraku had had enough with their refusals to allow him access; he decided that he would have to approach her while she was outside the manor. Maybe while she was at school…

“Well, then, tell her I’ll see her around. Have a good day.”

Sesshomaru and Inu Yasha were even more puzzled by his gracious exit. They had expected that he would put up more of a fight.

“Sess, he just left… Why didn’t he… Um… Well, I think we should be careful for the next bit.”

Sesshomaru nodded his agreement. “Let’s tell Father. He should know that Naraku and his brothers are wanting to cause problems-especially for Kagome.”

The two headed to the study that their father would be in.

“Look, Sesshomaru… I’m sorry about growling at you earlier. I thought that you had sent the flowers to Kagome. I’m now fairly sure that it is Naraku and Muso up to their old asinine ways. I do hope that you and Kags can get along. I love her very much and know that she would be the happiest getting along with everyone in the family,” Inu Yasha apologized, taking Sesshomaru by surprise. He just expected that they would let the outburst alone and forget about it just as they always did.

“”I understand. Kagome is quite beautiful-especially for a human. She can also be very sweet. I have to admit that I was almost jealous of you at first, but I don’t think that it was that. I’ll stay away from her if that is what you want, but I know that would make everyone else nervous and unhappy. That is not what you want.” Sesshomaru was trying to express his thoughts and opinions as well as his feelings for his brother’s mate. The problem was that he was not sure what they were himself, making it impossible to really communicate what was on his mind.

Inu Yasha gave Sesshomaru a half-grin before knocking on his father’s door.

“Come in,” came the reply.

“Hey, dad…” he was stopped right there by his father.

“I think I may have found you and Kagome an apartment. It’s a two bedroom place, fully furnished, all utilities included in the rent, a pool and gym… We can check it out tomorrow a little after noon and start getting you two moved in after that if you like.” Inu Yasha could only nod at his dad at first. He was feeling exhausted right in that moment after all the events of the day. It was only Saturday still.

“That sounds great. We came in here to tell you that Naraku and Muso want to cause trouble for Kagome and me. I think that they were the ones that sent those flowers to her. Um, I’m about to take Kagome and go to bed. Does that apartment have a good security system? You know, security guards, alarms and all that. If they are after her, I need to make sure that we are doing everything possible to keep her safe.

Inu Taisho agreed to double check, but resolved to start looking at houses as soon as possible so that he could just take care of the problem and hire people just to watch over them for safety’s sake. The Archaline boys were trouble. Everybody knew that. Naraku was the leader, and Muso was the muscles. Onigumo may not be much trouble on his own, but he did whatever his older brothers told him to and he was the one with the computer skill and gifts for figuring out puzzles. He was extremely smart.

He picked up his phone and put in a couple of calls. The first was to a friend that was in real estate. He knew how to find a place and get everything taken care of fast-even on a Sunday since no bank would be needed. The next was to a friend that was a retired police officer.

He talked his friend, Kuchoro, into coming with him so that he could see how safe the property could be made to be. What adjustments would be needed and where to find the best to hire as security. He agreed to come but said he would have to bring his grandchild, Shippo.

Inu Taisho was really good friends with that clan of fox demons.

Inu Yasha stretched and kissed the top of the head that was resting on his chest.

He began to run his hand up and down her back. The other hand reached up to run through her hair.

They had finally made it to bed after their long day before at around 1 in the morning. Everything seemed to change in the expanse of 24 hours. (Well, plus some if he was honest.)

Kagome looked up and placed a kiss just under his chin.

“We are going back to college town (no, that’s not the name of the place) to look at an apartment. I want you to be extra careful for a little while. You know play it safe, no going out on your own and stuff like that. Even at Shikon University. Ok?

“K. Is there a particular reason why? Or are you just extra worried about me now?” Kagome asked playfully.

Inu Yasha sighed and sat up, still looking down at her. “Yes, there is a reason, but I don’t want to talk about it right now. Now let’s get up and get ready to go. We have a place to look at and see if we like it enough to start moving in to.”

Kagome leaned up and kissed his lips, snaking her tongue in to get a taste. He growled and deepened the kiss making it rougher.

Inu Yasha couldn’t help himself. He wanted to feel her, make her gasp his name and, most of all, give her pleasure.

He stroked her breasts and nipped his way down her neck to lick his mark possessively. He trailed his lips back to her lips for another kiss before lying her back to position himself.

He needed it hard and fast.

He plunged into her, reveling in her gasps.

They came together.

Once they regained their breaths, he looked at her and laughed.

“Now, let’s try getting up again. Maybe we’ll make it off the bed and hopefully to the shower.”

Kagome couldn’t help her mirth as it floated up her throat.

“Yep, I’m a good distraction. Aren’t I?”

They got showered in dressed in about an hour around the kissing, flirting and teasing.

When they finally made their way downstairs and had eaten, Inu Yasha saw his father getting the car packed for them.

“We may be checking out some other places because of that problem that we discussed. Let’s go. Oh, we will be having a friend join us…”
