The blissful beach
A/N: Gah! I am so sorry guys...I posted this story right before bed last night and when I woked up I was like..oh look....the first third is missing :P thank god I keep copies...I went back and well maybe it was just the first 8th...but...There was some dialog and thats my favorite part >.< so ..Yeah...here's the begining. I try to write when I'm really really tired because things just seem to flow so much easier that way...so if you see me drop a word or an s or an ed don't worry, I will go back and fix those...but when I wake up :P and thank you so much for your nice reviews...Its harder for me to write about Inu and Kag cause I'm a Sesshy fan al the way, so if they seem a bit OOC sometimes its because I'm al ready day dreaming about Sesshoumaru :P

Kagome yawned loudly as she awoke from a sleep so deep her arms and legs still felt heavy. "Good morning." She cooed to no one in paticular. She stretched out as far as she could, sighing happily before bringing her hands together and resting them underneath her head.
"Heh, Feeling better Kagome?" Inu Yasha grinned down at her. She rarely rised in such a good mood and he took this as a good sign. "I should let you sleep in more often."
She smiled back at him for a moment until his words registered to her brain. "Sleep in?" She asked in a paniced voice as she sat up in her sleeping bag. "How long have I been asleep?!"
Inu Yasha looked up at the sun. "At least half the day." He observed before looking back down to Kagome as she began to crawl out of her sleeping bag.
"Half the day!" She excalimed with panic in her voice. "Oh my god, He'll be so angry!" She huffed as Kagome ran to her bag for a change of clothes.
"Who?" Inu Yasha questioned in a gruff voice.
Kagome froze. "Uh.." She bit her lip. 'Thats right I had lied to him...oh....think Kagome think!' "My friend." She spat out quickly as she began to pull various outfits out of her bag.
"Whats his name again?" Inu Yasha asked in a suspicous tone.
"My friend?" Kagome stalled.
"Yes.." He answered back with annoyance soaking through his words. "Your friend who lives in the village to the west."
She paused again. 'Have to think of a name..any name!' "Hojo-kun." She spat out with a wince.
"Really....." Inu Yasha questioned " and he lives in the village to the WEST."
Kagome stopped fussing with her clothes. It wasn't often that Inu Yasha asked her the same question in such a short period of time, something was up. Did he suspect something? Should she change her story? She nibbled on her lip nervously before deciding to test him a little further.
"Yup." she said in a weak voice. "Do you know him?" she faltered. She was never good at lieing. Up until now she had never needed to. Normally, she would NEVER lie, but 'I'm running off to be with the brother you don't know you have.' somehow didn't seem like it would work right now.
"No I don't." He started as the anger began to rise in his chest, "I would love to meet him." He bit out sarcastically. "Except.........He's probably a bit preoccupied.." Inu Yasha took a step forward so he stood behind Kagome as she kept her back to him, leaning in to deliver the punchline to his sarcastic rant. "What with his village being burned down and abandoned for the last 10 years."
Kagome tensed. Why had she said west? Why not east, north, south. Why did the first direction that popped into her head have to be wrong one. She thought frantically for an explanation. He didn't wait for one.
"Kagome, what is going on?" He asked with irritation as he grabbed her arm and turned her slightly so that she was facing him. "First you disappear for over a week, and come back with this story about this person none of us have heard of, then you start screaming nonsense last night, and now ..now your lying to me."
She blushed. He had called her on everything. She had no idea how to respond. Her embarassment was overpowering her brain.
"Kagome," Inu Yasha began as he softened his voice and lowered to a crouch in front of her to meet her gaze, since she wouldn't or couldn't look him in the eyes right now. "You just got back." He stated softly as he rubbed her arm. "Why would you want to leave us so soon?"
She could see it, the hurt on his face. What good was the spell if all she did was lie to him and avoid him after he had waited so long? What kind of horrible person was she that she could do this to him. She felt as if she would cry. She dropped the clothing she had in her hand. Inu Yasha quickly scooped it up off the ground and stood up handing it to her.
"Have I done something to upset you Kagome?" He asked as his ears flattened against his head.
"Oh Inu Yasha!" She exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around him, desperately trying to fight off the tears that threatened to spill forth. "Of course you didn't do anything BAKA." She smiled.
Inu Yasha let out a sigh of relief as he embraced her, lightly stroking her hair with his fingers. He sighed softly as he held her in his arms. It was nice to be close to her again, he decided. After many moments of holding her silently in his arms and soothingly stroking her hair he pulled back and looked into her eyes a reassuring smile on his face. "Then what is it Kagome?"
She smiled back wiping a tear that threatened to fall from her eyes. "Nothing...." She finished with a sigh. "Just me being stupid." She placed her hands in his and smiled at him again. "What would you like to do today?"
Inu Yasha ears perked up along with his spirits. "Do you remember that beach we camped at when we used to come back from hunting shards, on the way to Kaeda's village?"
Kagome smiled and shook her head. Of course she remembered that beach......she had dreams about it. Her heart sank slightly.
"I thought it would be nice if we spent some time there..." He continued with a blush. " Just you and me. Miroku and Sango were getting all...."He blushed again." Anyways, I told them it was all right to go to Kaeda's without us and that we would catch up with them in a day or so."
Kagome smirked, she had wondered how long it would take Miroku to make his move now that the curse had been lifted. "That sounds wonderful Inu Yasha." She said in a tender voice as she looked around for Sesshoumaru. 'Where is he.' She internally huffed. She wanted to find him. She needed to explain why she couldn't leave Inu Yasha after only one day. It wouldn't be fair. A wave of guilt overtook her. How could she be so selfish. She had barely gotten back and all ready she wanted to run off and satisfy her own selfish needs when Inu Yasha had waited so long. She sighed to herself as she released Inu Yasha hands and began to pack for their beach trip. Where was Sesshoumaru anyways?..He said would be back in the morning....She half expected him to wake her before the sun had even risen.
Kagome was pulled form her thoughts as Inu Yasha grumbled at her sleeping bag, trying to roll it up for her. 'He's never done that before,' She smiled to herself, ' he must be very excited about this trip.' She stifled a giggle as he finally gave up and simply folded the bag in half tucking it under his arm. "In a hurry are we?" She grinned at him as she pointed to the sleeping bag under his arm.
Inu Yasha smiled, "Yeah! We lost half the day all ready...and how often do we get to relax without having to worry about jewel shards?"
Kagome giggled this time. He was very excited. This was probably the happiest she had ever seen him. "All right! " she said as she stopped folding the cloths she had ripped so viciously out of her bag earlier, and simply stuffed them back inside. "I'm ready! Point me in the direction of the beach!" She giggled.
"Hop on!" He barked with excitment as he turned his back to Kagome. She smiled at his new found enthusiasm and climb on his back throwing her pack over her shoulder. "Hang on tight!" He warned as he grabbed the back of her knees, and took off in a flash.
Kagome gasped and wrapped her arms around his neck as the wind began whipping through her hair. Inu Yasha jumped from tree to tree with demonic speed. They would be at the beach in no time, and the ride was fast and exciting causing her to smile against his neck. The warm winds felt good against her skin as opposed to the cold she had suffered through for the last week. "Look out Inu Yasha!". She screamed softly and buried her head against his neck as they took a very steep jump.
Inu Yasha chuckled. "Oh come on Kagome, that was nothing to scream about!" He teased as he began to take them higher and higher into the trees.
"Inu Yasha! No!" She giggled loudly and buried her face again.
"Oh come on Kagome!" He laughed again as he found longer and more frightening jumps along the way.
"Inu Yasha!" She chuckled out barely as her lungs ached from the abuse. They traveled the distance of the forest that way. SCREAM, laugh, SCREAM, laugh, SCREAM. Kagome thought her lungs would burst before they made it to the beach.
When they finally arrived at the beach some time later Kagome's sides ached desperately, but if it bothered her she didn't show it. She beamed. The ride over had been so much fun, and the beach was absolutely beautiful. Kagome hugged Inu Yasha tightly around the neck as he approached the shore.
"Oh this was such a good idea Inu Yasha! Its beautiful!" Kagome smiled.
"Heh!" He puffed up his chest triumphantly. "I told ya!"
Kagome kicked her legs playfully as Inu Yasha still hadn't let her down. "Down now please?" She grinned.
Inu Yasha continued to walk along the beach, letting his feet test the water, as he seemingly ignored her request.
"Inu-Yash-a" She chimed in a sing songy voice as she began to bounce on his back, trying to get his attention.
Inu Yasha smirked. "I think you should drop your bag Kagome." He teased in a playfull threatening tone.
"Nani?" Kagome blinked.
"Otherwise its going to get wet." Inu Yasha grinned again as he grabbed her legs tighter.
Kagome's eye's went wide. "Inu Yasha don't do it!" She squirmed as she realized what he was planning.
"Don't say I didn't warn you." he grinned again as he postioned himself to take off again.
"Oh Kami." Kagome groaned helplessly as she dropped her bag on the beach and covered her eyes.
"Here we go!" Inu Yasha chuckled as he bound into the water, causing Kagome to scream again.
"Inu Yasha!" She laughed with a smirk upon her face as she resurfaced, pushing her hair out of her face, and splashing at him in mock anger. "My clothes are soaked." She complained in amuzment.
"Feh! You have more!" He chuckled back as he began to counter her splashes with his own. "Besides....." he smirked" You look good wet." He teased before disappearing below the water.
Kagome huffed, ready to splash him again as soon as he resurfaced. She pushed more of her hair out of her face and sank low in the water with her hands in the -pre-splash- position. She waited. And waited. And Waited. "Inu Yasha?" She called out as she began to worry. "Inu Yasha?!" She called louder as she began to stand up, her stomach tying in a knot. "Inu Ya--" She screamed as she was grabbed from behind, two strong arms wrapping around her midsection.
Inu Yasha chuckled. "Careful Kagome, that one was loud!" He cringed as his earns lay flat against his head.
Kagome caught her breath and gritted out slowly in her best threatening tone. "You are a dead dog demon."
Inu Yasha quickly put his hand over her mouth. "Don't say it! I'll drown!" He warned before uncovering her mouth.
"That was NOT funny Inu Yasha." She warned with a small smirk gracing her lips.
"I thought it was kind of funny." He whispered into her ear.
Kagome shuddered. "Can we go back to the shore now Inu Yasha? I'd like to see if I packed my swimsuit."
Inu Yasha smirked. Normally he would have kept her there in the water, where he was sure she wouldn't dare sit him, but if it meant she might change into the "swimsuit" he had seen her wear on previous outtings, he could make an exception. "Promise not to .....say it?" He wimpered.
"Promise." She smiled. "In fact." She reached around very quickly and pulled the necklace from around his neck over his head, and threw it into the water.
"Hey!" Inu Yasha exclaimed in utter disbelief as he dived in after it, emerging only seconds later with the rosary in his hand.
Kagome blinked. "I thought you would be happy to be rid of it."
Inu Yasha faltered slightly. "Well I am, but.....I still wanna keep it...even if I don't have to wear it anymore." He stated in a thoughtful tone.
Kagome smiled. "Tha'ts sweet Inu Yasha."
"Feh!" He replied as he began walking to the beach staring at the prayer beads in his hand.
