Chapter 13 Lets Speed Things Up
A/N ok people in this chapter we are going to start moving a little bit. (About damn time isn’t it) well since I am trying to get to the ceremony in a nice period of time with out rushing the relationship that needs to grow I think I will take this chapter a bit differently. What is going on is day to day events that help the relationship grow I’ll tell what moon (day) went on and what made one or the other like each other a little bit more so that I have a good base for my lemony goodness. You only have a few more chapters to wait I swear. (It was Sunday when he got the memo and we have 6 moons to go)
Monday (1st Moon)
Kagome awoke early to the most wonderful smell. As she looked around her room a big bouquet of red roses were on her side table. A small note was laid next to it. Kagome picked it up and opened the parchment.
Kagome, when you get this please dress for the dojo so that we may continue your lessons
Sesshomaru
Kagome jumped up out of bed and Rose was by her side to help prepare her for the dojo. She was so happy that he gave her the roses that she could hardly think straight. When she finally reached the doors she could not keep the grin off of her face. Stepping into the room she ran up to Sesshomaru and kissed him on the cheek surprising the demon lord.
“Thank you Sesshomaru-sama” Kagome said. All she got back was a nod of the head and a quirked eyebrow.
Little did he know that it had been her first flowers from a boy and it meant the entire world to her that he had even thought to give them to her.
Tuesday (2nd Moon)
Sesshomaru had been caught off guard when she had given him a kiss the other day in the dojo. He traced the point of her lips with his fingers and smiled. A habit that was coming more and more common lately and he was beginning to like it.
Rin came bounding in his study with a piece of parchment and a flower in her hand.
“Kagome told me to give this to you Sesshomaru-sama” the young girl said handing him the items, and then running off again to find Shippo.
He smelled the beautiful white lily and opened the note.
If my heart had wings it would take me to you
And in my sadness it would know who to turn to
For you can be my strength in the dim
Only you can make the world spin
I may not like you or love you but I do know this
You’re someone to depend on when I need a kiss
You gave me flowers and I give you a poem
Just to tell you you’re never alone

I have no longer days that seem so blue
Sesshomaru my darling I think I love you!
He didn’t know what to say to those words that were written on the paper, other then they could not contain the joy that he now felt. Some where deep in his heart he knew that he loved her as well all he had to do was show it…but how?
Wednesday (3rd Moon)
Kagome’s day after sending the poem:
5:30 sharp Training as usual nothing out of the ordinary. (Sesshomaru seems to be a bit more icy then normal…I hope I didn’t upset him.)
7:30 Breakfast with an ever stoic lord. (Now I’m really starting to worry)
8:00 Rin and Shippo’s Lessons. (Even they seem to be cold towards me)
10:00 utterly bored. Rin has left with Shippo and Rose is M.I.A.
10:01 still bored maybe I can take a nap.
10:09 damn that didn’t work…what to do?
10:15 torture Sesshomaru.
10:16 nope bad idea too risky.
11:00 woot I took a nap…damn it’s only eleven.
12:00 Lunch by myself…finally something to do.
1:00 well now what?
1:30 lost in palace.
3:00 woot finally found way around have got to remember not to go down their again.
3:30 Study session with Sesshy (what’s this note…has been canceled damn him to hell!)
3:35 UTTERLY BORED!
Kagome’s day was not going well, she was bored, and I mean so bored you can’t even think. Currently she was sleeping very hard and Sesshomaru took his opening he had been waiting on all day.
When Kagome awoke it was night time. The sun had begun set below the mountains bathing the lands in an orange and purple light. Kagome stretched and looked around her room to see if the boredom had changed. Her eyes caught the sight of a lone rose petal. She got up and picked it up noticing their was another. Going out of her room a trail led down the hall way. She walked along the trail not taking in her surroundings finally it stopped at large oak doors.
Kagome took her chances and opened them only to discover that they led outside to the garden. She followed the small path that led her to the most beautiful sight ever. A low table was set in a small pagoda that was in the middle of a koi pond linked to the land by a bridge. Sesshomaru was standing at the edge waiting for her to come to him.
She took his outstretched hand and he escorted her to the decadent table that was covered in the most exquisite foods. Sesshomaru made sure that she was seated in a nice big pillow before he joined her at the table.
Kagome took in the environment around her. Beautiful paper lanterns adorned the pagoda and pathway making the light very soft and ambient. The path was lined with various flowers that were absolutely breath taking. Cherry trees were blooming around them giving a heavy aroma to the air. A near by stream was adding its music to the crickets song giving the area the perfect feel.
Sesshomaru looked at the women sitting by him. God she was beautiful, the light from the lanterns gave her a glow that emanated from her very being. Lightly he took her delicate hand and brought her knuckles to his lips planting a light kiss. The touch caused a light blush to spread across her cheeks. Kagome looked into his eyes and noticed they held an emotion that she had never seen before.
“Kagome, when I brought you to my castle I didn’t think you would agree to what you have and every day that you are here you surprise me. It is not often that this Sesshomaru gets surprised and yet, you still continue to do it. Kagome I know that your time here has been short but I was wondering if what you wrote was true?” Sesshomaru asked still peering into kagome’s silver eyes. Kagome couldn’t believe that he asked if that was true. It had taken all of her strength to admit what she knew was in her heart. Sadness creped up and she could feel the wetness in her eyes.
“When I came here I saw you as nothing more then an ice prince. And even after the kiss I still questioned your motives because I reasoned that you could hold no feeling for anyone in your icy interior. But as I watched your interactions in that small period of time I saw a different side of you. When I wrote you that poem the words came from my heart and I would never take them back not even from you. Sesshomaru, I know the pain that comes from giving your heart away to someone and letting them break it into pieces, I gave you my heart and now you are squeezing it, will you break it like your brother did or will you tell me how you feel? Just to let you know what ever you do, I would never take you for granted and break your heart that is a pain I could never deal to any one” Kagome said looking up at his mask tears running down her face without any interruption.
Sesshomaru was taken aback by her words. She had told him what he wanted to hear and now the ball lay in his court. His next few words would have to be chosen carefully so she could understand what she truly meant to him. Clearing his mind he looked at the sad girl before him.
Taking his thumb he wiped the tears that marred her beautiful face. He held her cheeks with his large hands. “Kagome, this Sesshomaru has not had many dealings with his feelings. In fact I have tried to hide them from myself so I would not fall into the trap that my father did. But I find myself in the short time I have known you, feeling things I have not felt since my mother was around. Kagome, I find myself smiling for no reason other then I’m going to see you. Kagome, I don’t know if what I am feeling is love but I do know that you are very dear to this ‘ice’ prince’s heart. And, if you will forgive my ignorance to your feelings I will more then try to show you how much I really do care for you, and maybe, I could admit one day that I love you” Sesshomaru said bowing his head and dropping his hands into his lap allowing Kagome to accept his apology and promise.
Kagome took all the words in and started to cry anew. Not because she was sad but because she was extremely happy. Taking her hand she placed it under his chin and brought his face to look up at hers. He looked at her tears and wondered what he had said to make her upset again.
“That is all I have ever wanted to hear from you” Kagome said her face lighting up in a huge smile that blew him away. He pulled her into a hug and smelled her radiant scent. “Then why are you crying?” Sesshomaru asked as he pulled away. Kagome laughed and wiped her own tears. “I’m crying because I’m happy” she said watching as his face tuned into confusion. “Now lets eat I’m starved” she said looking at the food and then at the demon lord who chuckled.
Thursday (4th moon)
Kagome awoke to the sun beating down on her form. She tried to get up but a weight around her waist kept her still. It was then she realized a large body wrapped around hers. Looking down she saw Sesshomaru’s striped wrist holding her tightly to him.
Kagome could tell by his breathing that he was awake and snuggled into his form. “Sleep well?” Sesshomaru asked nuzzling into her neck. “Wonderfully” Kagome replied craning her neck to allow him more access. “We should head back soon” he said pulling her into a tight hug. “Do we have to?” Kagome asked wiggling to get comfortable. “Technically no, but you don’t want them to send out a search party for us now do you?” Sesshomaru asked before he turned Kagome to face him. She was met with a smile and light in his eyes that she discovered last night. Taking her finger she pocked him in the nose and laughed as he looked at her in mock anger.
“No one pokes this Sesshomaru and gets away with it” he said pinning Kagome under him and showing his fangs. Kagome looked at him and laughed. “Oh now you mock my greatness now you shall learn your place women” He said coming ever closer to her face causing his long hair to cascade around them shielding them from the outside world.
Sesshomaru leaned in and captured her lips. Leaving Kagome breathless he smirked as he got up and replaced his armor.
“Well if that’s your form of punishment then I think I will misbehave more often” Kagome said sitting up giving Sesshomaru a wicked grin.
Sesshomaru picked up Kagome and carried her into the castle before setting her down so that she could go to her bedroom to clean up for the day.
Friday (5th Moon)
“Come back here you, you thing!” Kagome’s yells could be heard from the other side of the castle. “Never” Sesshomaru said as he vaulted the banister and landed on the floor below. Kagome looked at him with a very red face as she clutched her journal to her chest.
“How dare you look at my personal belongings” She said mid flight down having learned to use her wings earlier in the week. “It was lying open on your floor I was picking it up for you” he said showing no emotion on his face. Kagome looked at him and growled. “and I suppose that while picking it up you just happened to sit on my bed and begin to read it while you were putting it away” Kagome said pointing her finger into his chest.
‘Shit’ Sesshomaru thought. ‘Kiss her she will forget about the entire thing’ he beast said. ‘And if she doesn’t?’ he asked. ‘Then get her flowers’ it replied. ‘And what if that doesn’t work?’ again he asked. ‘then jewelry and after that candy, and after that get down on your hands a knees and beg, god she is a women give her stuff and she will be happy’ it growled out annoyed. ‘Fine be that way’ Sesshomaru said.
Sesshomaru tempted fate and grabbed the enraged girl before him and kissed her. She fell limp in his arms and he felt as though he had won the war. He slowly pulled away and looked at her happy face. She opened her eyes and looked at him. Kagome brought her hands up to his face and smiled at him.
“If you honestly think that a kiss would make me less mad at you try again” she said getting out of his arms and walking back up to her room. “By the way I’m still mad and I expect you to make it up to me some way” Kagome said swaying her hips as she went knowing the affect her body had on him.
‘God why does she have to do that to me, I love it too much’ Sesshomaru thought to himself. ‘Now what can I get her… ah that’s perfect’ he thought and smirked at his sly mind.
Later that day:
Kagome walked out of her room to go see the children. As she walked she didn’t notice the person behind her until it was too late. Hands covered her eyes and a body formed to her own.
“Guess who?” the voice said. Kagome laughed at the childish antic but played along. “Shippo?” she said. “No guess again” it said. “Jaken?” Kagome said. “Do you not know your mate to bee’s hands” Sesshomaru said lowering his hands. “Of course but I didn’t want to hurt your feelings darling” Kagome said turning and looking at his bent head. “What did you want I was checking on Rose and the Children I haven’t seen much of them lately with being around you more often then not” kagome said looking at him. “I wanted to make up for intruding on your privacy and give you this” he said handing her a box.
Kagome took the brown package and opened the lid to find the most beautiful necklace. It was a diamond rose set on a black velvet tie.
“Oh Sesshomaru it’s lovely thank you so much” Kagome said looking at him and then grabbing him in to a fierce hug and placing a kiss on his cheek. “It would be even better on your neck” he said taking it from her and tying the chocker on her neck. She looked at him.
“I forgive you Sesshomaru” Kagome said touching the rose and smiling.
Friday (5th Moon)
Kagome sat in a bed of wild flowers looking at the children playing with each other. She had given the day off to Rose and told her that everything would be taken care of. Both children ran up to her with huge grins on their faces.
“Will Kagome come and play with us?” Rin asked with big puppy dog eyes. How could she say no. getting up she tagged Shippo and started to run off away from him. Shippo in turn tagged Rin who went after them both. The game ended with two excited children and one very tired demon.
After the children ran off seeing that Kagome was tired, she settled back in her position once again. Lying down in the flowers, the smell combined with a warm summer’s sun lulled her into sleep. That is where Sesshomaru found her.
Sesshomaru looked down at the angel asleep on the flowers. He could not help but smile at the picture before him. Kagome shifted in her sleep and rustled her wings. Sniffing the air around her he could tell that she was having a dream, and it was not normal. Arousal was clear in the air and he wondered exactly who she was dreaming about.
“Sesshomaru” kagome said softly and the smile on his face grew even more. So his kagome was dreaming of him. Lightly he sat down beside her. Bringing his hand up to caress her cheek awakening her to his presence. Kagome’s silver eyes looked up into his golden ones and she smiled at him remembering the dream.
Her cheeks flushed red. “I suppose you know what I was dreaming about” Kagome said looking at him. “That I do” Sesshomaru said making her blush even more. “Sesshomaru I was wondering about something” Kagome said sitting up. “What was it?” he replied.
“When you asked me did you ever think we would like each other?” Kagome said looking at his face. “In all honesty I didn’t know what would happen, I was a little unsure about the whole thing when I thought about it, but I am a demon of my word and would not break the deal we had made. But, as I said before you grew on me in a few short days and now I look forward to our life together” Sesshomaru said placing a kiss on her forehead.
“What about you?” Sesshomaru asked. “Well I thought you were an ice prince, and that I was dooming my self to a life of coldness, but that all changed when I saw that emotion in your eyes while we were traveling to the well. For one instant I knew you had a heart under all that ice and if I stayed longer enough maybe I would be able to melt it, and I think I have done my job, and I have found the one who I was supposed to be with” Kagome said stroking his cheek with her small hand.

(Ok I think that gets us to the perfect time frame. Next chapter is the day before the ceremony. After that chapter we have a dinner. After the dinner we will finally have the ceremony and then it is the time you all have been waiting for LEMONY GOODNESS!!!!! (You all can say about damn time) so if you review you could possibly get a chapter faster then normal…hint, hint nudge, nudge. Kagome walked out of her room to go see the children. As she walked she didn’t notice the person behind her until it was too late. Hands covered her eyes and a body formed to her own.
“Guess who?” the voice said. Kagome laughed at the childish antic but played along. “Shippo?” she said. “No guess again” it said. “Jaken?” Kagome said. “Do you not know your mate to bee’s hands” Sesshomaru said lowering his hands. “Of course but I didn’t want to hurt your feelings darling” Kagome said turning and looking at his bent head. “What did you want I was checking on Rose and the Children I haven’t seen much of them lately with being around you more often then not” kagome said looking at him. “I wanted to make up for intruding on your privacy and give you this” he said handing her a box.
Kagome took the brown package and opened the lid to find the most beautiful necklace. It was a diamond rose set on a black velvet tie.
“Oh Sesshomaru it’s lovely thank you so much” Kagome said looking at him and then grabbing him in to a fierce hug and placing a kiss on his cheek. “It would be even better on your neck” he said taking it from her and tying the chocker on her neck. She looked at him.
“I forgive you Sesshomaru” Kagome said touching the rose and smiling.
Friday (5th Moon)
Kagome sat in a bed of wild flowers looking at the children playing with each other. She had given the day off to Rose and told her that everything would be taken care of. Both children ran up to her with huge grins on their faces.
“Will Kagome come and play with us?” Rin asked with big puppy dog eyes. How could she say no. getting up she tagged Shippo and started to run off away from him. Shippo in turn tagged Rin who went after them both. The game ended with two excited children and one very tired demon.
After the children ran off seeing that Kagome was tired, she settled back in her position once again. Lying down in the flowers, the smell combined with a warm summer’s sun lulled her into sleep. That is where Sesshomaru found her.
Sesshomaru looked down at the angel asleep on the flowers. He could not help but smile at the picture before him. Kagome shifted in her sleep and rustled her wings. Sniffing the air around her he could tell that she was having a dream, and it was not normal. Arousal was clear in the air and he wondered exactly who she was dreaming about.
“Sesshomaru” kagome said softly and the smile on his face grew even more. So his kagome was dreaming of him. Lightly he sat down beside her. Bringing his hand up to caress her cheek awakening her to his presence. Kagome’s silver eyes looked up into his golden ones and she smiled at him remembering the dream.
Her cheeks flushed red. “I suppose you know what I was dreaming about” Kagome said looking at him. “That I do” Sesshomaru said making her blush even more. “Sesshomaru I was wondering about something” Kagome said sitting up. “What was it?” he replied.
“When you asked me did you ever think we would like each other?” Kagome said looking at his face. “In all honesty I didn’t know what would happen, I was a little unsure about the whole thing when I thought about it, but I am a demon of my word and would not break the deal we had made. But, as I said before you grew on me in a few short days and now I look forward to our life together” Sesshomaru said placing a kiss on her forehead.
“What about you?” Sesshomaru asked. “Well I thought you were an ice prince, and that I was dooming my self to a life of coldness, but that all changed when I saw that emotion in your eyes while we were traveling to the well. For one instant I knew you had a heart under all that ice and if I stayed longer enough maybe I would be able to melt it, and I think I have done my job, and I have found the one who I was supposed to be with” Kagome said stroking his cheek with her small hand.

(Ok I think that gets us to the perfect time frame. Next chapter is the day before the ceremony. After that chapter we have a dinner. After the dinner we will finally have the ceremony and then it is the time you all have been waiting for LEMONY GOODNESS!!!!! (You all can say about damn time) so if you review you could possibly get a chapter faster then normal…hint, hint nudge, nudge. If not you can wait another month for the lemon (and yes just to let you know I do have that much written, since I haven’t been able to update, and I am that evil)
