Desires
Chapter Thirteen
Kagome saw him sitting against the tree by himself and decided to head on over. He looked so lonely to her. His head came up to look at her as she sat down and smiled at him. "Hey, hows it going?" He didn't answer her merely grunted. Despair filled her, he always seemed to ignore her. Her eyes roamed over his face as he turned to look towards Killany and Kurama. The fox had just walked up to her causing her to laugh. Kagome couldn't hear what was being said. "I heard you are under probation also. What did you do?" That got his attention.
"Hn."
"Come on, it couldn't have been as bad as what we did. Actually now that I think about it we didn't do anything bad."
"Why did you do it? She had her reason by why did you go along with it?"
"Why wouldn't I? They were wrong, she was wrong. He was only a baby, he didn't deserve that. A person shouldn't be condemned because of the circumstances of their birth. They should be judged by who they are not what they are or where they come from." She thought about Inuyasha as she spoke.
"And what if you were told there was a chance he grew up to become exactly what they thought he would?"
"Then it was their fault. By judging him, they exposed him to that life style. They would have made him and the fault would lie with them. If they would have shown him love and understanding he might have choosen another path in which to take his life." She heard his grunt before he turned his head once more to look towards the other two. Not wanting to watch him stare at the other girl, she got up and left him.
"I guess I should apologize for my behavior the other day."
Killany laughed as Kurama approached her smiling. She could see the personality differences between the two forms. This form actually looked embarrassed about the behavior he'd shown. "That's okay, you're forgiven unless I decide I want to hold it over your head."
"I see." He smiled at her, he also felt it the minute Hiei's eyes landed on him. He'd been hoping that when he saw the other girl go over to talk to him, he'd have a few minutes to speak to Killany. The man had meant his threat it seemed. He was always near his newfound sister trying to keep him at bay. Not that he could blame Hiei, Youko had gotten a little carried away with the girl. He'd been ready to bury himself inside her.
"So what's it like living in a human body?"
"What's it like being merged with a completely different person?"
"Thats a hard question. We were both aware but it was almost like being one person." She saw Kagome get up and walk towards the woods. The look on her face said something was wrong. "Excuse me, please."
Hiei was beside him as soon as the girl left. "I thought I gave you my warning."
"Yes, you did Hiei. I was merely apologizing for my behavior nothing more." Kurama looked at the man he considered his best friend.
"Keep it that way."
Killany found Kagome sitting on the ground picking at grass. She wasn't sure what was wrong but something was bothering her. "Whats wrong?"
How could she tell her that she liked Hiei but he seemed to pay too much attention to her. And that he had seemed angry at seeing the other man with her. "Nothing."
"Don't lie to me Kagome, I saw you talking to Hiei. Something to do with him? You can tell me." Killany wanted to know what could possibly be wrong. She'd noticed that Hiei looked at the miko when she wasn't paying attention. His scent had changed a few times also.
"I think he likes someone else."
Killany thought about it for a minute, that didn't seem right to her. She'd never seen him pay much attention to anyone else. She'd seen him glance at Yukina but not that way. The only person that seemed to get any reaction out of him was Kagome. "I don't think so. I think I would notice it if he was attracted to someone else. Only advice I can give you is be yourself, you're a great person."
"Thanks."
Hiei watched the miko as she sat on the ground with the other females talking and laughing. Like always she sat between both of his siblings. His eyes roamed over her body to land on her face once more. He wasn't sure when he'd begun to notice her more. Seven weeks had gone by and yet nothing had happened. They were merely babysitting, not that he minded. It gave him a chance to get to know Killany better. Even if he didn't converse with her much, he got to see what type of person she was. She reminded him of himself in a lot of ways. But there was a part of her that seemed to be gentle and caring of those around her.
It was still bothering him with the attention the fox seemed to be giving her. He hadn't tried to seduce her again not physically anyways. But Hiei watched as he continued to flirt and lavish her with attention so far she didn't seem to be falling for it. Which was good, he wouldn't have to kill the man.
He heard Kagome's laughter and looked at her mouth. His body stirred at the sight, she was getting to him as well. He didn't understand her. She was a miko, a natural enemy to all youkai but she accepted all the ones around her. Her reaction to him left him confused. She went out of her way to speak to him and do things for him. Always polite and friendly, standing up for him a few times. True it had only been the baka insulting him yet she'd jumped to his defense.
The other day her scent had changed around him, he knew what he smelt. Question was, who had she been thinking about to cause the musky scent of desire to come forth? The scent had caused his body to react, the familiar ache filling his body. So he had left without saying anything to her, not wanting her to see the proof of his arousal.
He leaned against the tree and closed his eyes willing his body to calm. It wouldn't do well for any of the others to smell his problem.
