Rin knocked on the bedroom door as dawn came up. She'd woken up several moments ago to find Hiei gone from the bed. She couldn't remember falling asleep. She had layed in his arms while he stroked her hair. It had felt so right, she felt safe and warm. Disappointment had filled her upon waking. Not for the nights events, simply she hadn't been able to see his face upon waking.

She heard Shizuru moving around inside, a few minutes later the door opened. "Morning Shizuru, I'm going for my walk, just wanted to see if you felt like coming." She smiled at her friend. Her hair was all over the place and she had rings under her eyes.

"No, think I'm going to sleep for awhile still."

"Okay, see you at breakfast." Rin walked out into the living room. Kagome was sitting on the couch staring at nothing. She sat down next to her. "Kagome."

"Hi Rin. Sorry didn't hear you come up."

"You look worried, whats wrong?" Rin could see the worry lines.

"Its nothing, I just have a bad feeling all of a sudden." Kagome couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.

Meanwhile in the bedroom, Shizuru turned around and proceeded to get dressed. She pulled her bottoms on first and proceeded to pull on the top. Suddenly, she got a bad feeling. Like a cry in the distance. She ran over to Kouga and shoved him, "Get up something's coming." She tore out the bedroom. She wasn't sure who would hear her but she yelled. "Something's coming." There was a large explosion outside.

Yusuke ran out his room followed by Keiko. Genkai was right behind him coming out her bedroom. Kouga ran past Shizuru, quickly making his way outside.

Rin and Kagome stood up looking around. It was outside. Rin's first thoughts went to Hiei, he would be outside. She ran behind the others. The double doors were open as they piled out into the morning sun.

Hiei was fighting several demons, trying to take them all on alone. Yusuke and Kouga ran forward to help him, while the others stayed back. Kagome went inside to grab her bow. They watched as the men fought, heedless of the snow coming down. Rin took a step forward as Hiei was thrown back. Shizuru grabbed her shoulders holding her in place.

Yusuke was taking on a nasty water demon, while Kouga went against an earth demon. They were both having trouble it seemed. Which didn't make sense to anyone. Hiei decapitated the one he was messing with and turned around. Several more demons stood in a large group.

Everyone besides the two men fighting watched as they parted to make way for someone. A tall youkai stepped forward, he had to be atleast seven feet tall. His long gray hair was pulled high in a pony tail, leaving his face exposed. He would have been found extremely sexy to all the women if he wasn't attacking their friends. His black eyes looked over them all landing to rest upon Rin. A smile crossed his face as he took a step forward.

Hiei was suddenly in his path bringing his katana across his chest. The sword went through him and out the other side. The youkai grabbed the metal and smirked. He brought his hand up, slapping the small man, knocking him down. They watched as he pulled the sword out tossing it to the ground. There was no wound, no blood. Hiei got back to his feet charging again.

Once again he was swatted aside like a fly landing on the ground. "You will die for you foolishness. What makes you think you can kill an immortal boy?" Plants came out the ground grabbing the fire youkai's wrists. "Try to move now." Hiei began to struggle against the vines but they tightened their grip cutting into his skin.

Yukina ran forward and threw herself in front of Hiei as the man formed a ball of energy. She had ahold of him, not wanting to lose him. He yelled at her, "What are you doing? Get the hell away."

Tears were rolling down her face, the jewels hit the ground and rolled. He saw the man take a step forward snatching the girl up by her kimono. "So you wish to die with your lover. That can be arranged."

"Don't you fucking touch her. Let her go!" Hiei screamed. His aura started to turn black as rage filled him.

"STOP!" Rin managed to yank her arm away from Shizuru and ran forward. "Please, let her go. Don't hurt her." She was sure she'd seen the man somewhere before. She couldn't place it.

He looked at the small girl he desired and smiled. "On one condition. Come with me, willingly. If you do I will not only release the girl but I will spare all your friends." He held a hand out.

"No, Rin. I can kill him." Kagome notched an arrow.

He tossed Yukina to the side and she landed on her back several feet away. "Really miko, yes I know who you are. I dare you to try, go ahead fire."

She released the arrow, it streaked across landing in his chest. It blazed for a second trying to purify him, then simmered out. He reached up and plucked it out tossing it to the ground. "Nice try. Come with me or they die." She took a step forward, fear filled her. She glanced down at Hiei who was still being held down, he was looking over towards Yukina. A tear slid down her cheek as she took another step forward. He grabbed her around the waist, yanking her to him. She wasn't sure what happened but her world suddenly went black.

Hiei snapped back to reality when he heard Rin's scream. The man had her in his arms, he began to struggle once more. "Rin," He tried shouting her name, yet she remained still. "You aren't taking her anywhere. I'll fucking kill you for touching her." His power began to rise, pouring out in waves. The vines began to burst into flames releasing him.

"Interesting, but the girl belongs to me now." He took to the air, "Kill them." His minions attacked as he left. Genkai ran to Yukina's side to make sure she was okay. A youkai jumped on Hiei stopping him from giving chase.

Yusuke sent his reigun tearing a youkai in two, it quickly regenerated. "Dammit, why won't these fuckers die?"

One ran towards Shizuru and Keiko, suddenly a figure in white appeared. Sesshoumaru sliced through the youkai, it instantly died. "As I thought." Within minutes he had them all dead. Kagome ran up to Hiei, placing a hand on his arm.

He turned to look at the miko, "We'll get her back. Come on, we need to find out whats going on."

Sesshoumaru informed them all to go inside. "Where is Rin?" He looked around watching the emotions cross everyone's face. "Where is she?" His eyes began to turn red.

"He took her Sesshoumaru," Kagome took the chance and stood before him. "I don't think he'll kill her though. Going apeshit and killing people isn't going to help get her back."

His eyes began to turn back to their usual amber. "You are correct. Now, we will go inside and discuss our options. I bring grave news."


Once all inside he looked at Kagome. "I'm sorry to be the one to inform you of this but both your mates have been captured. I believe by the same man that has taken Rin."

She fell to her knees, "No."

"They are not dead yet. There still may be a chance to save them but it is slight. My forces are organizing as we speak."

"Just tell us one thing, who is this asshole. And why did he boast about being immortal?" Genkai said.

"Because he is."

"Are you saying there's no way for him to be killed?" Yusuke asked.

"What part of immortal don't you understand?" Sesshoumaru yelled.

Kagome wasn't sure how that was impossible, "He looked like a normal youkai, how is he immortal?"

He looked over at them and explained. "Three thousand years ago, there was a god called Akimoto. Some called him the God of Death along with a few other choice names. To make a long story short, he liked death but didn't like getting his hands dirty. So he chose four of the strongest youkai around during that time. He called them the Chosen Ones. He then performed a ceremony granting them with immortality. They killed at his leisure, whomever he saw fit to die for his sick pleasure. Only after two centuries of his senseless slaughters, he got bored. There was only way for one of his immortals to die, that was at the hands of another. So he pitted the four against each other. When it was over only one remained, his name was Kado. Not long after, the god was sealed never to be released again. But it left Kado to wander on his own. There are a few mentions of him in history but no one knew what became of him."

"How do you know so much about this Sesshomaru?" Kagome had a feeling she already knew the answer.

"Because my father had the ancient scroll containing the ritual used. It was the one Akimoto used to create his Chosen Ones. We used it on Rin." He waited for the miko's anger.

"You idiot, you couldn't have known how a human would react to it. How could you do that? I never took you for an idiot Sesshomaru."

"She was informed of the risks, she was willing to take them." He suddenly felt guilty.

"If this guy we saw today is Kado then why does he want the jewel? Surely, he is strong enough without it." Shizuru looked at the lord for her answer.

"To kill me I assume. I would seem he was after Rin but knows I won't let him keep her. He wants the jewel in order to kill me."

"If he's immortal, then he has no need to fear even you." Hiei stated.

Kagome thought about it. "Wait I get it. You were able to kill his minions outside and no one else could. Its because you used the Tensaiga. You can't kill him but it can."

"Precisely. Just one sip of his blood is enough to give the drinker, immortality for a short time. It is not permanent."

"I got another question, if you used the same ritual on Rin then how come she can still bleed and he can't?"

Sesshoumaru got an angry look on his face. "I won't ask how you know she is able to bleed. I don't know the answer to that. All I can think is because she was human to start with, she didn't get all the benefits. She will never age but is not entirely immortal. Though I assume she would be hard to kill by anyone other than him."

"So how do we get them back?" Kagome thought of Kurama and Kuronue.

"I am not sure, if we attack head on then there's a chance he will hurt Rin and kill them."
