A Love That Transcends Time: Book I

~*~Chapter 13—Mated Bliss~*~


A week passed by after the incident with Kouga. The miko forgave the hanyou the day after the argument. They were mated a fortnight and already a series of “Osuwaris” followed. The others laughed themselves off at their expense, thoroughly enjoying the hanyou’s predicament. And now…

Their first week together was a period of adjustment and learning for the both of them. They never realized there were still so many things left to discover in one another and the many adjustments that had to be made.

First, Inuyasha never liked sleeping indoors and being cooped up. And he refuses to sleep without Kagome beside him. After three times of him dragging her—while she’s sleeping in her sleeping bag—to wherever it was he was going to sleep (which, of course, resulted in her waking up and sitting him—albeit sleepily. Hehehe), she finally agreed to sleep with him, no matter what the location. Most of the time they’re atop a tree, with her sleeping with her back to his chest, on top of him. Kagome got over her fear of heights in no time as her hanyou always wrapped his arms about her tightly to reassure her. Now she can sleep without her getting worried of falling down.

He sometimes gave in to his bitch’s requests though. When the mood strikes her, she would ask that they sleep on the ground for a change, or inside the hut, when they were at Kaede’s. Her sleeping bag was small and he couldn’t possibly make love to her with all of them present, but that was better than sleeping alone and not holding her.

Inuyasha found himself wanting to always please Kagome, for her joys simply became his own. No matter what she asked of him—big or small—he always did whatever was in his power to give her. It was as if he was hell-bent on showing her that she meant that much to him. He didn’t argue with the kitsune as he had before, knowing Kagome thought of Shippo as her cub and it would upset her. Since he was now her mate, he supposed that he would take over the role of a father figure to the kid. Though he really did gag at the thought. :D He began to train Shippo, becoming his mentor . They now had a comfortable relationship, with Shippo sometimes blowing it by irritating the hell out of Inuyasha, earning him a bonk on the head.

Then there was their talk about Sesshomaru. They were in Kaede’s village at the time; they rarely ventured far from the village itself nowadays—and he decided that they would sleep at the God tree. Inuyasha humored Kagome by agreeing to sleep under the Goshinboku and not atop it.

“Inuyasha-kun?” Kagome asked the hanyou as she settled herself more comfortably in his embrace.

“Hmm?” His eyes were already closed, his arms tightening more about her form as he enjoyed the feel of her close to him and breathing in her wonderful scent.

“Do you think we’ll see Sesshomaru again?” she said as she entwined her fingers with his on her waist.

“I don’t know. And I don’t particularly care, so it doesn’t really matter. Why?” Inuyasha asked her, puzzled as to why she was asking of his brother.

“Umm… Do you think that you could uh, make up with him?” his mate asked him tentatively.

His eyes snapped open wide in shock and he flipped her over to face him.

“Why the fuck should I do that!?” he asked her in a near shout, his incredulity evident.

She covered her ears with her hands; it was ringing from the abuse. They found out from Myoga that there was a way to complete their mating in the demon tradition. It was through the exchange of blood, with her ending up marking him as well.

~Flashback~

“Inuyashaaaa!!!” Kagome was crying out in her delight, her hips moving faster as she rode Inuyasha.

The hanyou was below her, his hands on her hips to slam her more forcefully against him, his claws digging into her, almost drawing blood. But she’s far from caring now…

They were at the pinnacle; their moans mingling in the air and the sweat that covered them made their bodies slicker. Faster and faster she rode him, her hands braced on his shoulders and her head thrown back in ecstasy. As Inuyasha neared his release, he let out a roar before lifting Kagome up completely, and slamming her down hard on his shaft.

The feel of him going straight inside her farthest regions made her clamp her muscles on his hardened shaft, signaling her climax. She leaned over him, baring her teeth as she brought it down to his neck. The shot of pain that went through him mixed with the pleasure and he seized her hair to hold her against his neck as he poured his seed inside her…

Kagome didn’t think about what she was doing; she just copied his actions when he marked her. Only, her aim was off. She bit him on the upper front side of his neck, never thinking she would break the skin and draw blood. But she did, and she now soothed it by licking and sucking on the wound alternately, taking in his blood.

~End Flashback~

Now they were truly linked; the one needed the other to feel complete. Myoga said that thru the exchange of blood, the mates’ forces would combine, thus bringing about the exchange of power. Kagome now has Inuyasha’s primal senses and Inuyasha has his share of her miko powers. This means that he wouldn’t be purified by miko energy that easily and that she could hear and smell almost as good as he does, and sense danger as well.

“Why do you have to shout? I was only asking for Kami-sama’s sake!” she shouted back, making his ears flatten on his head.

They laughed together, thinking of how they acted like kodomos once again. She brought him back to the topic by nagging him once again.

“Seriously, Inuyasha-kun, don’t you think you could do that? Make peace with your brother?” she asked him as she put her head down on his chest.

“Half-brother,” Inuyasha corrected as he skimmed his hands through her hair.

“Besides, he’s a complete asshole so it wouldn’t even be worth the effort. He hates me and the feeling’s mutual so…”

“You are many things, husband. But what YOU are NOT is a LIAR,” Kagome said to her mate.

“I know you don’t hate Sesshomaru. You just make it look like that to hide the hurt you feel when he rejects you as his brother. But you know what? Sesshomaru’s a lot like you too, Inuyasha-kun. He’s also afraid of his façade slipping up and you’ll see that he cares for you as his kin—his brother. That’s why he’s being such a jerk to you. But I can see it,” Kagome explained to Inuyasha.

“I think it’s time you put your differences aside, and accept each other. Your father would be so proud and pleased to know that his sons will come together and rebuild his empire. You are the only descendants of the great Inutaisho—remember that. It would bring much honor to your father and mother’s memory if you resolve things with Sesshomaru. Besides, we need a strong ally like Sesshomaru to bring about Naraku’s destruction. Think of what you will lose if you don’t,” Kagome said in an afterthought, hopefully to convince her hanyou.

He was silent for a long time; his hand still stroking her hair as the other anchored her against him. Then he finally replied.

“I’ll think about it, kanai. I know it would please you too so…”

His mate lifted her head up and looked at him with sparkling eyes. Her joy was evident in her smile.

“Arigato, Inuyasha-kun! Oh I love you so much,” she whispered as she touched her lips to his.

Inuyasha was smiling against her lips as he deepened the kiss into something more…

They fell asleep, still entwined, moments later.

Today, he was bringing her back to her home. She wasn’t able to go back frequently as she had before, and he was starting to feel guilty whenever he saw her homesick expression. It was one of the arguments they had; that of her going back to her time. He was afraid of her not coming back to him. Inuyasha finally relented, on one condition: he was going to come with her whenever she went home. That was fine with Kagome since her mate would be with her and she wouldn’t have to worry about him slipping off with Kikyou while she’s not there.

They were saying their goodbyes now in front of Kaede’s hut; they would be gone for a week, to make up for Kagome’s absence with her family.

“Sayonara, Shippo. And be a boy boy okay? I promise to bring you the large lollipop I promised you when I get back,” Kagome told the kitsune who had tears in his eyes, as she ruffled his hair.

Shippo wanted so much to cry. Kagome is leaving him again. But he caught Inuyasha’s eyes and remembering what he said about big boys not crying, fiercely held back his tears. He beamed when he saw the nod of approval from the hanyou.

“Goodbye, Kagome-chan! And don’t come back before your week is over or I’ll throw you in the well again. You deserve your break—think of this as your honeymoon,” Sango said the last in a whisper and giggled as she saw Kagome blush.

“Arigato, Sango-chan,” Kagome said as she returned her best friend’s embrace.

“Well,” the houshi said. He was nudging Inuyasha in the ribs and whispering to him.

“Remember all the things I told you about pleasuring a woman? Where to touch, where to kiss, how to move—“ Miroku was suddenly flung backward, landing head first into the dirt.

Everybody looked at the hanyou, who was looking really pissed, the nerve ticking on his forehead once again and blushing furiously. He was cracking his hands together as he growled at the houshi.

“Hentai!” sounding very much like a girl, ne?

“Hey Sango! If the pervert grabs you once again, you have my permission to knock him out cold for a week. Okay?”

“Gotcha!” the taijiya winked back at Inuyasha, trying hard not to laugh.

“Well, I guess we’re off,” Kagome said as Inuyasha swept her into his arms.

“Thanks so much, Kaede-baachan. And we promise to be back after a week—no delay!” she promised the old miko.

“Take all the time that you need, child. And don’t worry about us, we’ll be fine,” Kaede reassured the young miko.

“I’ll be checking up on you once in every while,” Inuyasha told them as he flew to the Bone Eater’s Well. He landed beside it, and Kagome was preparing to go down on her feet when he stopped her.

“I want to go through the well holding you this time,” Inuyasha said as he carried Kagome bridal style.

His mate just smiled as she waited for him to jump to the well.

“Wait,” he muttered nervously.

“What is it, Inuyasha-kun?”

“What’s your mother going to say about you being mated to me? Heck, what’s your whole family going to think?”

She put a finger to his lips to hush him.

“Stop worrying, husband. Mother already likes you and she’ll love the fact that I’m…mato yoo you,” she said as she substituted the word “married” to “mated”.

“And as for Souta… well, he loves you already. Actually, he worships you so I wouldn’t worry about him. As for Jii-chan…” Kagome thought about her grandfather.

“Well, you know Jii-chan. He’ll freak out for a while, but after he calms down he’ll see I made the right choice. So don’t be worried okay?” she eased her mates worries about her family.

Inuyasha nodded, his arrogance now back in place. And without warning, jumped down to the well into the modern era…
