Just for the night

Sesshoumaru was greeted
by a very happy little girl named Rin. He knew by the way her eyes shimmered
that she wanted to hug him, but she held herself in place. The demon lord smiled
inwardly and shocked the little girl out of her wits when he brought her up in
his arms, hugging her tight.

Sesshoumaru-sama, she breathed
with confusion laced in her voice.

My little Rin, I am sorry that I
left you alone with Jaken, but I had things to do. You see – I have found a
mate, and she will be your new mother.

-         
Will Rin have a new mother? the
young girl questioned.

-         
 Do you not want to have a
mother?

-         
It is not that Sesshoumaru-sama,
Rin was just surprised that Sesshoumaru-sama had gone through so much trouble to
get Rin a new mama. But if she is Sesshoumaru -samas mate and she is Rins
mother..

Sesshoumaru chuckled
softly and stroked the girl over her head. He rubbed his nose against hers and
she giggled a bit. He knew what she was after and he was going to acknowledge
that thought for her. He had seen Rin as his own pup for a very long time, but
he had never showed it openly. It was time to change that.

Rin, if you are asking me if I
am to be your father, then yes. I know I should have said or showed it to you
earlier, but my pride was in the way.

I have seen you as my own
daughter for quite a while now, and I would be honoured if you would to call me
your father.

Rin sniffled and buried
her face in the crook of her Sesshoumaru -samas neck. Her small arms latched
around him, hugging him with all the love she had for her father-figure.

Come, let us travel to Sango,
your new mama; I know she is waiting for us. And I hope you want a brother or a
sister to play with, because she is expecting our pup.

-         
Ohh, Rin would love to have
someone to play with, the little girl squealed in delight, kissing him on his
striped cheek.

Sesshoumaru smiled and
ordered Jaken to pack Ah-Uhn’s bags. Rin danced around, singing about
Sesshoumaru and Sango and her new sibling. The demon lord felt a warm tingling
sensation when he heard her song and as soon as he was with his mate again,
everything would be just perfect.

A few hours later it was
all finished and Jaken sat up on the dragon’s back. Sesshoumaru took Rin into
his arms and carried her. He knew he was scaring his old servant with this new
display of caring, but he was a lord, and he did as he choose.

Rin snuggled into the
warm embrace of her father. “My Sesshou-papa, I love you.” she thought
and fell asleep in his strong arms.
