Dancing Blades, Silks, and Sakura Blossoms
Chapter Eleven
InuYasha let his head fall back against the trunk of his beloved’s sakura tree. He missed Yumi. He missed her smile and her laugh and the way she would pick on him. Suddenly he was surrounded by a wind, a sorrowful wind that swirled about him.
Then he heard it, her voice. “Forgive me, InuYasha. I love you,” the voice cried. InuYasha attempted to grab at the wind but the voice continued. “I cannot hold on much longer. I protect more than I originally did from that monster.”
“What do you mean?” he asked out loud.
“Tell Sango that her brother is safe and tell Kagura that Kanna is as well.”
“Kohaku and Kanna? What did he do?”
The voice wept for a few moments and then spoke softly. “I had to, to protect them, I had to,” the voice chanted.
“Had to what? Tell me Yumi!” he shouted.
“Forgive me, InuYasha. But he would have taken their innocence. I could not allow that.”
“What do you mean taken their innocence? Yumi!”
“I had to. He would have destroyed them. Onegi, InuYasha, take me home. Save us from this place! And forgive me…” the voice began to fade as the wind died down.
“Yumi! No, don’t go! I promise I will save you! Yumi!” he shouted, his voice ringing clear into the night as the wind and the voice vanished.

Sesshomaru let out a frustrated sigh. Something had happened to InuYasha and it had made him go into another one of those depressions. He had to literally drag the whelp to the final council meeting. he was late as it is, Kagome had delayed hiat mat morning for an unknown reason and then had run off snickering about something. It was confusing, but Kagome herself was confusing. He let out another sigh as he shoved InuYasha’s slow moving carcass towards the doors to Jin’s council room.
As soon as he walked inside he noticed he was getting strange looks from the other lords and the monk was attempting to hold in his snickers. Sesshomaru brushed it off; the monk was strange and would be spared for attempting to laugh at him because of his recent conquest over the demon exterminator.
Jin was smiling knowingly as he turned to Sesshomaru. “I see that you are late, Sesshomaru, did your mate have something to do with this?” he snickered.
Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at the elven lord. “Somewhat, and the whelp is depressed once again, so speed was not necessary for him today. Why are you laughing at this Sesshomaru?” he asked.
Jin shook his head, the snickers growing louder. “I am not… laughing at you, my friend!”
“You are a horrible liar.”
InuYasha glanced at his bro and and then around the room with a sad expression. “You’re pink.”
Sessshomaru raised an eyebrow. “I’m what?”
“Kagome must have cast an illusion on your hair and tail. They’re a bright, pink color.”
Sesshomaru growled and then looked at a lock of his hair. Indeed, it was pink and a very vibrant shade at that. Sesshomaru placed his head in his hands as the lords and Miroku all burst into laughter.
After the laughter died down, Sango, Kagura and Kagome entered the chamber. Sesshomaru glared at his mate whom smiled innocently as she took her seat beside him and InuYasha. Sango took hers next to Miroku and Kouga offered the chair next to him to Kagura. As soon as she sat. Kagura’s eyes fell upon the currently pink lord.
“Lord Sesshomaru, did you know that you are pink?” Kagura asked.
Sesshomaru groaned as Kagome giggled. “What did I do to deserve public humiliation?” he asked quietly.
“Think of it as payback for the incident in Jin’s study,” Kagome whispered back.
Jin finished laughing and wiped a tear from his eye. “Oh that was good! Anyways, we are all prepared to attack Naraku. We have the location of his palace, so kkindly given to us by Kagura. We have posted our armies on the edge of his borders to feign that we know the general area and not the exact location to fool the bastard, and we will have Lady Kagome standing ready to purify the jewel once we take his shards away. Soon, we shall be rid of Naraku and Lady Yumi and any other prisioners that he possesses will be free.”
InuYasha whimpered.
Kagome glanced to her friend. “What’s wrong?”
“She sent a message to me last night,” he mumbled.
Kagome’s eyes widened as the rest of the room turned it’s attention to the hanyou. “What did Yumi say?” she asked.
“That Kohaku and Kanna are safe. And that she cannot hold out against him much longer. She also asked for forgiveness.”
“Forgiveness?” Jin asked.
“Naraku was going to take the innocence of Kanna and Kohaku so she took their place. I don’t understand it, but she wants me to forgive her for doing it.”
Kagome gasped and placed a hand over her mouth. “Oh kami!”
InuYasha was worried. “What? What does that mean?”
Kagome glanced to Jin, who nodded. “It means Naraku was going to rape the children…”
InuYasha’s face blanched. “But she took their place in his bed instead?”
Kagome nodded. Jin was now thouroughly pissed. “That monster!” he growled.
Kouga stood. “We have to leave for the bastard’s palace now! We’re ready, we have to act!”
Jin nodded. “I agree. This meeting is adjourned. Gather your belongings and prepare to move out, by tomorrow morning, we are going to war!”

Naraku could feel it. Something was going to happen soon, something no his his favor. He looked over to where Yumi sat with Kanna and Kohaku. Her eyes held an infinite sadness that he knew he had placed there. Yumi was well on her way to become broken, and he was going to be the cause. He smiled cruelly at the elven woman. she was almost his completely all he needed to do was to kill InuYasha.
Kanna threaded her small fingers through Yumi’s. Yumi looked down at the child and smiled. Her eyes were sad and afraid. Kanna did not want Yumi to be afraid. “Yumi-okkasan, why are you sad?”
Yumi squeezed Kanna’s hand. “Because I miss my mate, InuYasha.”
Kanna smiled. “InuYasha is your mate?”
“Hai, and the child that grows within me is his as well.”
Kanna placed her free hand on Yumi’s belly. She then smiled happily when she felt the child’s aura. “There is a child in there!”
Yumi laughed slightly. She knew Naraku was watching and she kept her guard up. She then noticed that Kanna had place her ear on her belly. “Kanna? What are you doing?”
“I am listening.”
Yumi smiled. “Listening for the baby?”
Kanna nodded. “I want to make sure it knows I’m here.”
Yumi sighed. “I’m sure it does.”
“Yumi-okkasan?” Kanna asked after a few moments of silence.
“Hai?”
“You will always be my okkasan, ne?”
“Of course, if that is what you want.”
Kanna nodded and then yawned. She snugglloseloser to Yumi and slowly drifted off to sleep as Yumi petted her hair and hummed a wordless tune.
Naraku frowned. Yumi was purer than he had thought she would be. He stalked off down the halls to think of his next move when the ominous feeling washed over him again. ‘Something is coming, and it does not favor me.’
