"Watch the ones toward the edge! They're too riled up!" Sesshoumaru called out after a rather loud crash of thunder shot across the sky and startled everyone in the valley; humans and cattle alike. Over the roar of the storm and panicking herd, other instructions could barely be made out as Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha directed them on what to do from opposite sides of the valley.
All around them, the rain continued to pour down with increasing fury causing the valley to flood with raging currents that threatened to sweep everyone off of their feet at any moment. Silently they knew, no matter how determined they were, eventually they would lose their grip on whatever it was that they had managed to hold onto.
The shouting was soon drowned out as Bankotsu found himself being pulled under water by the current; his hand ripped from the rock protruding from the mountainside. Instinctively, be opened his mouth to scream only to find it filling with cold, dirty water. Kicking and fighting with everything he had, he managed to make his way to the surface just long enough to spit out the water and breath in a small gulp of air.
As the image of Jakotsu's worried face crossed his mind, Bankotsu squeezed his eyes closed to block out the sheer desperation he could see in his. Shaking his head to remove the useless sense of hopelessness, Bankotsu began fighting his way to the surface once more only to find himself dragged back under before he could even feel the cold night air on his face.
Not to be discouraged, since he still had a purpose to live for that, for once, was not just avenging the death of his parents, but was actually for a living, breathing person, Bankotsu continued to try and fight his way out of the strong current. He soon found himself foiled at every attempt as his lungs began to burn with need for air and his muscles screamed from overwork.
