Hot springs

A/N: Oh my god! Thank you all for reviewing my story! And also, so you all know: I NEED A BETA! IF ANYONE OUT THERE WOULD LIKE TO BETA FOR ME, TELL ME AND LEAVE YOUR EMAIL FOR ME! Anyways, I promised some people a hot spring chapter, and here you go. Happy reading! Also, I’m sorry for not updating so soon. I've been busy like you wouldn’t believe.

Chapter twelve: Hot springs

It had been day’s sense they went and looked for Naraku. Inuyasha still kept insulting Sesshomaru, Sesshomaru proceeded to ignore his idiotic half brother, and Jaken began to keep quiet sense he got glares every time he insulted the hanyuu. Rin began to laugh and play more with Shippo. Only could guess that she was happy to have someone her age around her.

Sango and Miroku continued to badger Kagome about what happened in her world that made her hate Naraku even more, and Kikyo just walked quietly right next to them, not saying a thing.

Finally, after a day of walking, they decided they needed to rest and make camp that night.

**

Kagome sighed as she fell into the Hot Springs. “Oh it feels so good to relax for once.” She said with a small smile. Kikyo and Sango nodded and smiled in content as the water relaxed their muscles and realized tension.

“So tell me Kagome, why did you leave in the first place?” Sango asked. She could already guess the answer, but she needed to hear it out o0f Kagome’s mouth.

Kagome sighed and sunk in deeper. “Because my heart was broken.” She said softly. She glanced at Kikyo, seeing that the miko wanted her to continue. “Please Kikyo, don’t get offended with what I’m going to say here. After all, we’re finally starting to get along.”

“I wont.” Was her only reply.

Once more, Kagome sighed. “When I saw Kikyo and Inuyasha together, it broke my heart into pieces. I loved him so much, and he knew I loved him, and yet, he still went to her. I felt so used and hurt that I just didn’t want to stay anymore. After all, this isn’t my battle, this isn’t my time. Really, everything that happened here had nothing to do with me. Naraku didn’t do anything to me to cause me to go after him. And this whole mess actually started when I brought to jewel here to the past. So in a way, this is all my fault. “

Sango frowned and opened her mouth, but Kikyo beat her to it.

“Its true that the jewel coming here is your fault Kagome.” Kikyo said, her eyes watching Kagome closely. “In fact, you’re right, none of this has to deal with you. Going back to your time was the right thing. But your influence in this time is so great, that when you disappeared, you took the spirit away from everyone. Inuyasha began to snap at everything, and Sango and Miroku tried everything they could to calm him down, but even they didn’t have that much energy to do so. So in a way Kagome, you are the heart of this group. So don’t let Inuyasha or I to bring you down. Anyways, it seems like you went for Sesshomaru instead.”

Kagome blushed. “Well, we did spend an interesting month together. I mean, one thing happened after the next.”

“Kagome-chan?” Rin’s voice mewed from the bushes. “Can I join you guys in the Hot Springs?”

Kagome smiled and nodded. “Come on in Rin. The water’s great. You don’t need to ask. Is Shippo with you too?”

Rin poked her head out and nodded. “He is. Sesshomaru-sama told Rin to come here with you and take a bath as well. The others found another hot spring nearby and went to it. Rin doesn’t want to take a bath with all those men.”

The teenage girl giggled and beckoned Rin over. Shippo was already jumping into the spring, splashing both Kikyo and Sango.

Rin slowly went to the spring and slipped in. She gasped at how hot it was, but quickly adjusted. “So, are you Rin’s mommy now?” She asked Kagome.

Kagome blushed deeply and placed her hand on Sesshomaru’s mark. “Um… I guess it does.”

Sango chuckled. “So why Sesshomaru? I mean, he is attractive, but he’s also…” Sango fought to try and find the right word for what she was thinking.

“Cold hearted sometimes? Curl? Things like that?” Kagome answered for her.

Sango nodded and turned red from embarrassment.

“Because underneath that cold shell, he’s actually very kind and sweet. He’s hand just as hard of a life as Inuyasha, but I cant pity him for it. I respect him for being so strong. He protects the ones he cares about, and will willingly risk his own life for someone he loves. Like Rin here.”

Rin blinked and looked up at her before smiling brightly. “Sesshomaru-sama is nice to Rin!”

Kagome nodded and remembered the night at the Hot Springs. His cries still echoed in her dreams. He didn’t cry that night, but she was sure that he wanted to.

Sango smiled and hugged her friend. “I’m glade your happy Kagome.”

“So am I.”

**

“Why do I need to go into the springs?” Inuyasha snapped as he glared at the hot water.

“Because brother, you reek.” Sesshomaru answered as he sunk into the water himself. It was hot, but perfect for his aching muscles. Miroku on the other hand looked like he was in heaven as he relaxed in the water.

Inuyasha growled. “It’s hot and it burns.”

Sesshomaru sighed inwardly. “Are you more then a dog then a yokai?” He said. Without warning, Sesshomaru grabbed Inuyasha’s leg and yanked, causing him to fall into the water. He kept a hand on his brother’s head, making sure that the hanyuu could get very little air, and a lot of the water. That and the pleasure of making him suffer for a bit was worth it.

“Sesshomaru-sama, I think you should let Inuyasha up.” Miroku said, though trying not to laugh.

“If I must.” He let go of the hanyuu, and Inuyasha jumped up, panting and spitting out water.

“You bastard!” He screamed. “I knew it! I knew you were trying to kill me!”

Sesshomaru chuckled. “Now you don’t smell as bad Inuyasha. Now shut up and relax for once.”

“I never smelled in the first place.” Inuyasha grumbled.

“Actually Inuyasha,” Miroku said with a snicker. “I could even smell you. Its pretty rank when I can smell you.”

Inuyasha glared at the monk and sank deeper into the water. He didn’t want to hear it from Sesshomaru, and he sure as hell didn’t want to hear it from the pervert.

“So tell me Sesshomaru-sama, what made you mate Kagome? I mean, you guys have only been gone for a couple hours honestly. Or was this a secret crush that you two had going on behind Inuyasha’s back?” Miroku asked the Taiyokai.

Sesshomaru glanced at him. “This Sesshomaru has no reason to answer you. But sense you did ask, and you are Kagome’s friend, I will.” Sesshomaru relaxed a little more as he began to explain what happened in the past month. He never left out any details, and even told them the story about what happened when she got drunk. He did it partly because Miroku was Kagome’s good friend, and partly to despise Inuyasha. He wanted the hanyuu to feel bad for breaking Kagome’s heart like he did. And from the looks of it, it was working.

“And I have no one else but you to thank Inuyasha.” Sesshomaru sneered.

Inuyasha shot a glare at the other. “Shove it Sesshomaru. She loved me first.”

“I mated her before you did. Instead of picking such a jewel like Kagome, you picked Kikyo.” Sesshomaru put out.

“Is there something wrong with who I picked?” The hanyuu snapped.

Sesshomaru shook his head. “There isn’t. Kikyo is interesting in her own way, but Kagome was willing to give you anything Inuyasha. She told me herself.”

“Now, now men, let’s not fight alright?” Miroku stepped in. “We need to start thinking of a battle plan instead of trying to kill each other. After all, I’m sure that neither of us wants our loved ones to die.”

Right then, an ear piercing scream echoed though the springs.
