My Hearts Desires

The journey from the village to Sesshomaru’s castle was, on foot, at least a 3 days journey. Due to his urgency, he decided that he would instead travel, through the early morning sky. Besides it would be fine with him to carry his beloved for the day’s travel. Sesshomaru explained to Rin that walking would take too much time, and that they would fly. Rin agreed, but her mind had questions. She had flown many times in the years of travel with her lord, but that was on the back of Ah-Un. But she was unsure of how she was going to be transported with Sesshomaru.

“Um…my lord, how am I to fly with you? I know that I would fly on Ah-Un’s back, but in your case I don’t think that would work.”

Sesshomaru chuckled at her naïve comment. “Rin I will carry you.” He reached down and stroked her hair. Rin looked down in respect, but also to enjoy his touch. But her eyes took their usual glance at his hip, to find that he was still wearing her sword. Sesshomaru noticing that Rin had come across again her sword in his possession and also saw the mild irritation that grew in her eyes at her discovery. “Rin, what is it that has you looking so irate?”

Rin stared up at him, she wanted to choose her words carefully, not anger her lord. After a moment she spoke, “ Well, my lord didn’t you said last night that if I took you down, that I would get my sword back? And if so then why is it that I see you are still in possession of it? Did I not satisfy your request?”

Sesshomaru looked down at her, she had a very serious expression in her sweet eyes. But for however serious they were, they still held that look of vulnerability. He had intended never to give it back to her or at the very least to mount it in her room once they returned to the castle. But she did have a point. He then had a very devious thought, he had enjoyed their sparring matches. So maybe he would allow her to keep the sword, so that they could enjoy that kind of physical exertion, once they were mated.

Sesshomaru and Rin walked out to the village before he had addressed Rin’s concerns. “Rin, if it is truly important to you to have it back, I can consider giving it back. However my hopes where never to give it back or to mount it in your chambers.”

“ I would like to keep it my lord, you know how special it is to me.”

“ Then I will give it back, but you must promise me right now that whenever I ask, you will present yourself with said sword to spar.”

Rin was confused, she was unsure as to why he would want to continue their practices after they were mated. But she did enjoy their time together while they practice and the exercise that came with it. And with that thought she figured that she would be able to become strong enough to be able to truly take down her lord. She nodded in agreement.

“What ever you wish my lord.” She smiled and hugged him.

“I will give it back to you upon arrival at the castle, so that neither of us will be uncomfortable on our journey.” Rin smiled as Sesshomaru gathered her up in his arms. He had instructed Jiro that he would send someone to pick up Rin’s belongings.


Rin was taken aback by how swiftly and smooth the flight had been with Sesshomaru. She still couldn’t help but wonder if he was getting tired of holding her up and would want to land and stretch his arms. But quickly brushed off that thought, because of the focused look in his eyes told her not to bother him with such trivial things. She tried to enjoy the view that was whizzing by. But she quickly realized that at their current speed, it made her ill. So she decided to focus on something much closer and easier on the eyes, her striking lord. Sesshomaru noticing Rin’s focused gaze upon him,

“What has you so mesmerized, Rin?” Rin embarrassed that she had been caught staring.

“Well, you see, I tried to watch the scenery but I began to feel ill. So I decided not to look at the fast moving background and to focus on something that could never make me feel ill.” She said with a small smile and light tint of blush to her cheeks at her candid response. Sesshomaru enjoyed her reply He gave her smile of approval and rewarded her with a brush of his cheek against hers.

As they approached the land nearing Sesshomaru’s castle, he began to descend. He had instructed Jakken to leave Ah-Un near the castle gates, so Rin could ride him on the castle grounds. Once they touched down Sesshomaru gave Rin a tender squeeze and placed her on her feet. She stretched her weary body, and started explore her new surroundings. But she quickly realized that the area were in fact familiar to her. She recognized the meadow, because in the years of traveling she had done with Jakken and Sesshomaru that they had set up camp here in the past. Her curiosity got the better of her and she had to asked, “My lord, why does this meadow look so familiar?”

He turned to her, remarking in his mind, ‘She is very smart. Of course she would recognize this place.’ “While we journeyed I found it necessary to return to my castle to conduct some business. The journey would bring us to this meadow, where I would have you and Jakken set up camp, while I attended to my affairs. If you look beyond the meadow, you will see my castle grounds.” He gestured to the end of the meadow, Rin was unable to see any thing other than open land and thought to herself, ‘if those are the castle grounds I wonder how large the castle is?’ Sesshomaru continued, “Due to the nature of my visits, I would leave the pair of you here and I would take care of what I needed to and then depart.”

Rin was somewhat sated by his response, but she was a little sad that he had never once taken her to his castle. Even though they were so close to it. Sesshomaru seeing the distraught look in his Rin’s eyes asked, “What is the matter?”

“Nothing, its just that, why didn’t we ever get to visit your castle?”

“My visits were usually brief, and were only to enforce my laws and to update on the conditions of my land. They were tedious and boring. I wanted to leave as soon as I was done. Bringing you would have only delayed my departure, with your tendency to wander away.” He knew that he came off sounding cruel, but his other reason was far worst and didn’t want to risk angering his soon to be mate, so close to nightfall. Rin understood, he did have a point. She would have wanted to explore and would probably cause trouble for him to have to deal with. She walked near her lord and followed him toward the castle gates. Once they got close, Rin spotted Ah-Un grazing near the gate. She was so happy to see them that she ran toward 2-headed beast and gave each of their heads a small embrace. Rin loved the creature, and as did they. Ah-un was glad to see that she was back with Lord Sesshomaru, and was upset with him for sending her away in the first place.

“Rin you will travel the rest of the way on Ah-Un.” She nodded and Ah-Un snuffed in acknowledgment, they lowered themselves to aid Rin while she climbed on to their back. Once settled, they started through the castle gates. Rin couldn’t control her racing heart, she was so excited, anxious and nervous. She kept reminding herself to breath as they passed by the opening gates. Once inside she could see the castle off in the distance and she was in awe. Sesshomaru watched Rin’s expression carefully and was filled with pride at how amazing the sight was to her.

At the gate the guards bowed respectfully and greeted their lord, allowing them entrance. The sight that greeted them as the entered the courtyard was nothing short of spectacular. As far as they can see, there were villagers, both human and demonic were gathered. Awaiting the arrival of their lord and their new lady. The villagers were shocked to find out that their lord’s chosen bride was in fact a young human woman and not a demoness, as they all thought it would be. Rin was shocked to see such an overwhelming display of respect they had for Sesshomaru, but still managed to give them one of her sweet smiles. Once they saw that, they could all see why their lord had chosen her. She was a great beauty, with a smile that light up even the daylight. They finally came to the front stairs leading to the grand entrance to the castle, where Rin saw Jakken and a very tall and striking demon woman awaiting them. Rin was glad to see Jakken she had missed him. But all her of attention was to the demon woman, who was she?

Sesshomaru walked around to Ah-Un lifted Rin off their back, placing her gently on the ground. He offered his arm as they ascended up toward the pair.

“Trinity.” He said with a content sound in his voice. “Jakken.” He said in his usual stoic and sharp manner causing him to jump. Trinity smiled at the reaction that Jakken had for Sesshomaru, she had taken much pleasure in picking on him since her arrival. So she was glad that Sesshomaru treated him in such a manner.

“My….lord…umm…I hope you are pleased with the display for your arrival.” He stuttered out with his head bowed.

“Well Jakken, I find it to be a bit much.” He said as he led Rin into the castle leaving a rather confused and stunned Jakken in his wake.

“W…what?!” Jakken stammered out in disbelief. Once inside the castle, Sesshomaru made his introductions of Rin and Trinity.

“Trinity, this is to be my mate, Rin.” Rin bowed with respect. “Rin this is Trinity, she is my dear old companion Trinity. She was a friend to my father and helped raised me.” Rin was floored, she couldn’t believe that there was anyone that would know her lord in any capacity other than subject to master. And she was right in front of her, she was lovely and didn’t reminder her at all of her lord. She seemed responsive and caring, totally the opposite of her lord. She had so many questions to ask her about Sesshomaru, but knew that there were better times and places to ask those kind of questions. With all her musing she was able to find her voice and greeted the demoness in front of her.

“Hello Trinity. It is wonderful to meet you. I have so many questions for you.” Rin smiled and blushed at the same instant. Realizing that she had let her mouth react faster than her mind wanted and let her last thought be verbalized. As by instinct she clamped her hand over her mouth to prevent herself from speaking out of turn again. Her mind raced, she didn’t know this woman, she could be just as guarded as Sesshomaru. Just because her eyes seemed kind didn’t mean that she was as such. Trinity saw Rin’s reaction to her greeting and tried console her.

“And I will be glad to answer them. That is why I am here, to assist you and Lord Sesshomaru.” She smiled and gently put her hand on Rin’s shoulder to aid in her comfort. The gesture actually help to calm her down and Rin smiled. Sesshomaru watched with great intent the exchange of pleasantries. And after Trinity cheered up Rin he prided himself on his choice to bring Trinity here to watch over his mate. Then he turned his attention to Jakken, who was standing diligently near his lord, awaiting his next assignment.

“Jakken, take Rin to her chambers, Trinity and I have some things to catch up on in the study.” Jakken nodded and grabbed Rin by here sleeve to lead her toward her quarters.

In Sesshomaru’s study, the two demons sat across from each other at a small table, while a servant brought in pot of tea and cups for them. Trinity decided to break the silence, that had fallen between them once the got settled at the table. “So my dear friend, a human? I never though I would see the day, that you would one; take a mate, and two; with a human, nonetheless.” She asked while she took a sip of the tea. Waiting for him to respond.

“It was never my intent. But over the years, I have grown accustomed to her presence and when I tried to rid myself of her, I found that I couldn’t bare to be separated from her.” He said after a moment of silence.

“She is awfully young, even for a human. How did you come across her?”

“You see I was unmercifully attacked by my damnable half brother and while I was healing. She came across me and tried to assist me in my recovery. But I insisted that I need no such help, but she was persistent and came every day that I was laid out. She was a mute, orphaned and being abused by the villagers that she was living with. Once I was able to move around without any discomfort, I came across her body dead. She was attacked and killed by wolves, I was about to walk away from her body, when my father’s sword asked me to revive her. It was purely a test to see if I could bring her back. But once she alive, she was so grateful that I brought her back to life that she followed, myself and my retainer.”

“How old is she? I want to say 18 years.”

“I cannot say and neither can she. But she may have been 7 or 8 years when we met and we have been traveling for something near 10 years. So that may be right. She was always given a choice to stay with me or to leave. I believe that it was her loyalty to me, that began the journey to my need to have her.”

“Could her beauty also be a factor as well? She is quite lovely.”

“I, myself never had need to take in her appearance. But I did have to punish many males for crudely gandering upon her. I should have figured that was because, in my mind. I had already accepted her as mine.”

“So is it your intent to mate her this evening?”

Giving a curt nod, “Yes”

“I see, well then, I must go and prepare Rin for what is expected of her this evening. Do you think she can handle the bonding act?”

“I have no doubt.” He said firmly “She has been in my care since her youth. If she can survive traveling with me then she can survive an eternity at my side.”

Trinity rose from her seat and made for the door she turned to look at Sesshomaru. “Once this is all said and done, I would like to know about Jakken.” As she was leaving, she thought to herself, that she really needed to get to know this girl the one that tamed the heart of the Great Lord Sesshomaru.

Jakken finally got Rin to her quarters, he always forgot how easily distracted she would get and with all of her annoying ooh-ing and awe-ing was driving him nuts. Once he got her to the door that lead to her room, he began to explain what her living arrangements would be like.

“Rin, please pay attention. This is your day room. You will conduct study here and do with what ever you please with this space. Lord Sesshomaru has instructed me that you will be sleeping in his quarters, which is the only other room on this wing….”


Rin tried very hard to listen to Jakken, but as soon as he opened the door to her room, she was taken by surprise by the beauty that was in front of her. It was decorative with lots of flowers and Sesshomaru’s family crests. And on the shelves there were books, tons and tons of books. At that moment she was so very grateful to Kagome, who had taught her to read as a child. She noticed that the room only had three walls, where the fourth wall should have been was an opening that extended to a beautiful balcony that had a great view to the courtyard. When she turned around she saw a lovely day bed that looked so soft and comfortable. But her focus went to the lovely wooden table and chair set that was still in the room was close enough to the balcony that she could still feel the breezy. But just as she sat down, Jakken’s last comment registered in her mind. ‘sleeping in his quarters.’ It made sense that she would be sleeping with him in his room, but the thought didn’t occur to her until Jakken said it. She was quickly getting used to having him at her side so she saw no problems with it. It was just shocking to hear it aloud. At that moment she wanted to see where her sleeping quarters were and where she would be sleeping with her lord. But she figured that her Sesshomaru had a reason for not making that part of the tour.

While Rin was lost in thought, Jakken excused himself, mumbling something about coming to get her for dinner and went to look for his lord. Rin got up from the table and walked over to the balcony and starred at the beauty before her. She was watching the crowds of people depart, when she noticed that she was being watched. She turned to see Trinity standing a little behind her.

“Hello, Rin.”

“Hello, Trinity.” She said with a smile.

“I’ve just finished with my visit with Sesshomaru. He has told me that tonight he wishes to mate with you. Are you aware of this?”

“Yes. He has mentioned that he was waiting to return to the castle before…well…um…we mated.” Rin said as she began to blush.

“I’m here to instruct you on how to handle yourself during the mating ritual.”

“You mean there’s a ritual. Sesshomaru said it was a physical act of… um…intimacy.” Rin’s blush growing even more.

“Yes,” Trinity said with a small smile, of course he would prepare her for the actual act. “To mate is to join your bodies, but there is a ritual that is uniquely different for every demon, to prove that their chosen mate is ready and able bodied to handle the act of mating.”

“Oh.” Rin said starting to get worried.

“It is truly about submission and dominance. The ritual will be what Sesshomaru would like to show his dominance over you, you are to resist and even fight back. But the ultimate goal is to have him win and then he can accept you as his mate.” Rin looked at Trinity with apprehension, she was unsure as to what Sesshomaru would want to do with her this evening.

“After dinner, I will meet you here to dress you for the evening. Even though the ritual will be strenuous you still will need to present yourself as a female to be desired. She wanted to inform her about the bonding act. An act that will extend her mortal life to the span of that of her demon lover, but she knew that that was something Sesshomaru needed to explain and for her to accept. She just hoped that she would be able to handle all of this and give herself to him completely.

Rin was confused and totally lost in all the rites of having a mate would include. Sesshomaru prepared her body for the act, but not once did he explain a ritual. What happens if she is not strong enough or doesn’t submit correctly? Will he reject her? Or worst would he kill her for mot being worthy? She shook that thought from her mind, she knew that Sesshomaru loved her. So whatever he chose for her to prove that she was suited to be his mate, would be something that would be able handle and could perform for her love.


So I just wanted to let you all know that there is one more chapter to go. Its almost ready for publishing, just have to type it and edit. It will include the lemon you have been waiting for. I know the last chapter right. But it was the way to get me to finish it. I'm sorry to see this coming to the end. But I'm so happy with what I have created. So just one more to go.
