Chapter Twelve
A Bright Coffee House

A day after Kagome was still upset about everything and felt terrible for her break down. She just couldn’t be herself any more. She didn’t even feel herself anymore. Something had changed her. That something was Sesshomaru. He had taken away the very spirit of her. Her heart was broken and it was trying to heal its self. She wanted desperately to love Inu Tashio. But as the days went on the more she realized that she wouldn’t be able to love him, not until she accepted what Sesshomaru left her.

Inu Tashio decided it was time to get her out of the house. He knew she needed time away from everything. She needed her space to deal with everything that was happening. So he decided to send her away, as far away as she wished to be.

“Kagome, may I have a moment of your time dear?” Inu Tashio asked as he opened his door to find her lying on the bed with a distant look in her eyes.

She looked up at him and smiled a gentle smile, almost delicate, and in a way it truly was. She sat up slowly and made room for him to sit next to her.

Inu Tashio sat down and placed a light kiss on her cheek. He held out the folder he was holding to her and she took it with a raised eyebrow. Inu Tashio watched as she opened it and looked at him with a shocked look on her beautiful face.

Inside the folder held one three tickets to no other than Rome, Italy. Also inside there was information about the historic city. There was a passport as well, along with a wallet full of the currency there. There were a dozen of brochures and as she took it all in tears fell down her eyes in silence.

Finally after what seemed like an eternity she dropped the folder and jumped into Inu Tashio’s lap and gave him the biggest hug he had ever received. She kissed each of his cheeks and finally kissed his lips last.

“Thank you so much.” Kagome whispered in his ear as she held him close to her.

“Your welcome dear, I just want you to be happy. I thought you could take two of your friends with you and have a good time away from… well away from everything.” Inu Tashio responded.

“I’ll go call Aria and Reiha and tell them we are so going to Rome.” Kagome practically jumped off the bed and flew to the phone.

“Who are these Aria and Reiha? I’ve never heard of them before.” Inu Tashio said with a pout. He had thought he knew everything about his little Kagome. Obviously he was wrong.

“They are my two best friends in the whole world and they have to be the ones to come with me. It’s going to be so cool. Rome baby here we come!” Kagome said excitedly as she dialed Aria’s number first.

After five rings and a frown the other line finally picked up.

“Hello? If this is Bobby then go away cuz I already told your stupid ass we were over and I told you to stop calling here. I swear I’m going to call the damn police if you don’t stop. What is this like the hundredth time you’ve called me?” a voice said over the phone in what seemed like one breath.

“No actually it’s the first time I’ve called you for a few months now.” Kagome replied with humor.

“OMG Kagome!” Aria screeched on the other line.

Kagome held the phone away from her ear with a cringe. “Dang Aria you would have thought it’s been years by that screech.” Kagome said teasingly.

“Humph I do not screech Miss Lady. Where the hell have you been? We all called your place, but Mr. High-and-mighty-all-bow-down-and-kiss-my-ass, I so would love to kick him in the ass one of these days, wouldn’t say shit. He just held us all out to dry, the bastard.” Aria said with menace in her voice.

“Calm down Aria before you have a heart attack.” Kagome said with laughter.

“Hey don’t joke about a heart attack Kags. My granny had one of those and she just went down for the count I tell ya it’s a killer.”

“Aww I’m sorry Aria, she was such a…. nice lady and I’m sure everyone misses her.” Kagome said.

“Who are you trying to convince, me or you? She was a demon. She hated everyone and didn’t like anyone looking at her, and God help you if you did. Grandpa once told me that she tore a cat’s eye out for looking at her too long. She scared me as a kid.” Aria said.

“Poor cat.” Kagome said looking at Inu Tashio.

Inu Tashio as a demon could hear the whole conversation and was on the bed laughing and holding his belly. His face was red with laughter and he tried to keep quiet, but couldn’t hold it in any longer. Kagome brought the phone over to him and kissed him on the lips to keep the laughter at bay. Inu Tashio moaned into the kiss and his laughter stopped for the moment.

“Whoa who’s that Kags? You got a sex slave I don’t know about?” Aria asked in all seriousness.

“Yes Aria I’m keeping a sex slave in my room where I’m staying. He’s so delicious too. You should see him in action. Mmmm thinking of the moves he’s got makes my mouth water and ooohhh so many dirty thoughts come to mind.” Kagome played along.

“That’s just wrong Kags.” Aria said in a hurt voice.

“What?” Kagome asked.

“You have a sex slave and didn’t even ask if I wanted a piece of him. That’s very un-friendly of you.” Aria said.

“I didn’t know you swing that way Aria.” Kagome said.

“Ewww I don’t… you sicko.” Aria said.
Kagome laughed and so did Aria at their little weird game.

“Any ways I wanted to know if you wanted to meet up at the coffee house on 23rd Street?” Kagome asked.

“Perfect, what time?” Aria asked her long time friend.

Kagome looked at her watch, “Let’s say an hour so I can get ready.”

“Ok cool. I’ll be there Kags. Hugs and kisses girl.” Aria said and then hung the phone up.

Kagome hung up the phone and looked at Inu Tashio. “What?” she asked.

“Are all of your friends so…” he started.

“Friendly, opinionated, happy, joyful, colorful, and loud?” Kagome asked with humor.

“Yes those are the words I was lacking.” Inu Tashio said.

“Aria is a personality all her own. She actually reminds me of…” Kagome trailed off in thought.

“Inuyasha?” Inu Tashio asked.

“Exactly, now dear I have to call Reiha. I’ve missed her a lot as well.” Kagome said as she started dialing her long time best friend.

Mean while a few miles away and an hour later…

“Inuyasha I think this is the coffee house you were looking for.” Miroku said as he walked in a cozy café and smelled the wonderful scent of fresh coffee.

Inuyasha walked in and smiled. “Yup this is the place.” he said as he sat down at one of the window seats.

“What can I get for you?” asked one of the waitresses.

“I’ll have a black coffee and dog breath here will have a mint shake.” Miroku said with laughter.

“Coming right up.” she said as she left.

“What the hell man?” Inuyasha asked as he shoved Miroku playfully.

Miroku laughed and looked out the window. That’s when he saw three beautiful women walking towards the café. His mouth dropped as he watched them walking in.

One he recognized as Kagome, Sesshomaru’s fiancé. The other two he had never set eyes on before. The one next to Kagome he could tell was a half dog demon. She had black hair with forest green highlights and when their eyes met he noticed she had navy/black eyes. He looked at the next one and nearly fell out of his chair. She had auburn hair and green eyes that seemed to shift between brown and hazel. She was gorgeous. Not too tall or too short. She seemed so… right.

He noticed her looking and he smiled. She giggled and looked away. She was wearing torn up blue jeans and a green tank top. She had beads around her neck that hung low on her chest that made it all seem fashionable. She had on flats as shoes that were also green, all in all the outfit looked beautiful. She honestly looked like she stepped off a movie set. He looked at Inuyasha and noticed him also looking. For a minute Miroku got a jealousy glint in his eyes, but then he noticed his friend was looking at the other girl next to Kagome.

Inuyasha felt like he was drowning in navy/black eyes. He had noticed them walk in and his attention naturally followed them. He noticed his brothers bitch Kagome, but didn’t recognize the other two women. One he noticed Miroku drooling over. The other was the one holding his attention. She was beautiful and never had he saw one like her. She was wearing a black mini skirt with a navy blue tank top and it looked great with her forest green highlights. She wore black heels to pull the outfit all together.

Inuyasha wanted so badly to say something… anything to her. Before he knew it he was standing up and walking up to her. His eyes widened when he noticed he was looking into her eyes only from about a foot away. His mouth opened and closed several times before he worked out, “Hi!” he flinched at the highness of his own voice.

“Oh Inuyasha. How are you doing?” Kagome asked as she saw him, she went around her friends and gave him a great big hug.

“Hey Kags. I’m doing okay. How about you and Ice Prick?” Inuyasha asked. A grin broke out on his face when he noticed the one with the green highlights laughing over what he asked.

“Um well the bastard and I are done. How are you and your wife?” Kagome asked.

“I’m getting a divorce as soon as possible. I caught her in bed with… well Sesshomaru actually. I’m sorry Kags.” Inuyasha said with a frown.

“I’m glad to hear that, and don’t be sorry Inu, it’s not your fault your brother is an ass. You deserved better than your wife any ways.” Kagome said with a smile.

“Ahem… Hello Kagome.” Miroku cut in.

Kagome looked over and saw Miroku standing next to her looking at Reiha. She giggled, “Hello Miroku.” she said giving him a light hug.

“Who’s your friend?” Miroku asked.

“This is Reiha and Ariayakami, but we call her Aria. May we join you?” Kagome asked sweetly.

“Of course you may Kagome.” Miroku said with a grin.

They all sat down and Kagome, Reiha and Aria ordered their drinks. Aria raised her eyebrows at Inuyasha’s drink and he just looked away with a blush.

“So how’s your wife doing Miroku?” Kagome asked.

“We’re getting a divorce. I tossed her out of the house. I’m selling it and giving everything away to the people in need. I don’t want anything that she’s touched.” Miroku answered.

“That’s interesting.” Reiha said.

“Very interesting.” Miroku said letting his eyes wonder over her body.

“Well Reiha and Aria I brought you here to tell you that Inu Tashio gave me tickets to Rome, Italy.” Kagome said. She mentally counted to two before they burst out with all their excitement.

“Rome!” they both yelled.

“Inu Tashio!” Inuyasha yelled.

Kagome looked at Inuyasha and swallowed. How do you tell someone around your own age that you're dating their father? Harder than you think it is that’s for sure.

“Yes to both. We leave tomorrow morning. Inu Tashio will have a limo pick you both up and take you to his private jet.” Kagome said with excitement.

“His private jet? He’s letting you take his private jet?! The bastard!” Inuyasha yelled.

Kagome raised eyebrows at him as well as everyone else. Inuyasha looked at them all and his ears flattened to his head and hid in his hair.

“He never lets me take the jet.” was all they heard from him.
