An Explaination of MPreginess in My Story
WARNING: This is not an actual chapter, just an explanation to liana, one of my lovely reviewers. I believe that I owe you all this explanation though so feel free to read on.
First of all I would like to thank everyone that reviewed, and ask your forgiveness for posting this instead of a new chapter. I always find all of your comments useful, good or bad, and I am glad that you would tell me frankly if you have a problem with what I’ve written. It helps me to become the best author that I can be. Pertaining to that, one of my recent reviewers brought up a valid point.
liana, I would be glad to answer your question. In fact, you already have hit it in your review. It was the potion that caused Miroku to conceive. I believe that I mentioned that fact in chapter 5 of my story, though briefly. I did not, however, explain WHY it was the potion that caused the pregnancy, so I can definitely see how it was confusing. The potion, as Kaede explained, was a mating potion. It was created to ensure the bloodline of the demon tribe, therefore it would not be that farfetched to believe that it ensured the couple to conceive the first time that they had sex. I see now that I also did not explain that when the potion is drunk, the two that drank it are driven to have sex, which catalyses the potions effect. It doesn't work if they don't have sex. When they do, they conceive, no matter what. So there's the explanation.
Something that I found interesting in your review, and in most stories is the belief that just because Inuyasha is part demon, it somehow makes him more likely to bear children. Why is that exactly? Is it just because demons are not fully understood? Who knows what they could do, right? Being demon is not a sure excuse for male pregnancy folks. NOTHING IS.
This is a work of FICTION, so what does it matter how Miroku got pregnant? He could have been abducted by aliens for all we know. I’ll be damned if I have to look at the scientific reasons for why my MALE character is pregnant. I shouldn’t have to. I’m making it up so here we go. I’ve got a better explanation. He was stolen by the fairies, sold on the black market to the aliens, who used him in their interstellar breeding kennel where he was promptly paired with Inuyasha who just happened to be there. Who knows, he forgot to pay back taxes to the money grubbing fairies for the tree that he was pinned to, so they sold him to the aliens to work off the debt. Inuyasha and Miroku got down and dirty, and then they escaped, fleeing to the hot springs, where they found a potion that they could blame Miroku’s pregnancy on, because they thought aliens and fairies were too far fetched.
And that’s the honest truth.
Wow, that was fun! I hope your happy now, and I’m sorry if I went on a bit of a rant. I do that sometimes, please forgive. Happy reading, riting, and reviewing to you all!
