Returning Forever

Chapter Twelve

Hiei listened as Botan informed them of the events of the break in and the name of the new threat. Part of him listened, the other thought about the girl that had yet to join them. His eyes roamed over Yusuke who was across the room from him. He hadn't gotten close enough to smell the girl on him yet but it was only a matter of time. Anger filled him at his own actions and how things had turned out. He should never have left, now he couldn't undo the damage.

He hadn't meant for last night to happen but it did. He merely wanted to watch her while she slept, to be close to her. The instant he'd smelt her arousal the need to touch her had been too strong. Just touch her while she slept, then it had gone down hill. The moment she'd spoken his name, there was no turning back. Shame had filled him knowing he was taking another man's mate. He had no right to her but it didn't stop him from wanting her.

The object of his desire came walking into the living room with the other girl. His eyes roamed over her, taking her in. His heart dropped when her eyes caught his, he could see the hurt he had caused. Botan's voice was cut off by Yusuke's.

"You bastard."

Hiei's eyes landed on his, he met the man's eyes. Anger filled him when Yusuke's hands grabbed the girl by the shoulders pulling her near him.

"So much for all your act of being honorable."

The remark stung his pride and he lashed out. "Tell me what bothers you more; the fact that she wishes she was with me. Or the fact that while you have to trick her into bedding you, she readily accepts me in her. Does it hurt knowing she willingly let me fuck her?"

Kagome felt like she'd been kicked in the chest. Yusuke let go of her and she lowered her head. She didn't try to stop the fight nor did she comment. Instead she walked outside, needing to be alone. Her feet took her across the yard until she could no longer hear them.

She fell to the ground and let the sobs wrack her body. Tears streamed down her face. It hurt so much, Hiei had used her to get back at Yusuke. She had also betrayed Yusuke, he said he loved her but did he really. Or was it the youkai inside of him acting out his possessiveness. Because it felt threatened by another man. Of course the other man thought nothing more of her than a whore, someone to fuck when the mood hit him. Neither really wanted her, it was nothing more than a competition.


Sango sat down on the ground and wrapped her arms around her friend. "Kagome." She felt the embrace returned. She felt her own tears begin. Soon they were holding each other both consumed with tears. "We are a sad pair."

"I totally agree."

They turned around, not having sensed anyone come up. A tall man with long blond hair was only a couple of feet away from them. In his hand he held the Staff of Damnation. He chuckled when he smelt their fear. Before they could get up he brought his hand up knocking them both back.

Kagome screamed when the force hit her, she rolled to a stop. Rage filled her as he walked over to Sango. His hand went for her neck jerking her up, his hand stroked the side of her face.

"A taijiya, I assumed as much. Playing with you will prove to be loads of fun. Now sleep." His fingers went over her eyes.

"Sango." Kagome got up as the man threw the girl over his shoulder. "Let her go."

"Now for you little miko. I have plans for you also, too bad for you I hate your kind." He chuckled at her expression.

She felt something tear along her leg and cried out in pain. Suddenly she felt pressure around her throat, her air was cut off. He was still standing several feet away from her.

"Looks like our time is up, I'll just have to take you with me as well." He put her to sleep as well as he sensed several people rushing towards them. The girl went over his other shoulder, he smiled at the bounty he had collected.

He felt something sharp go through his chest and looked down to see a blade sticking out. His hand came forth swatting at the small insect that thought to hurt him. The man landed in front of him, "Hmmph, please don't insult me."

Hiei watched him pull the katana out and toss it aside. "Don't worry the next blow will kill you."

"I doubt it. I'd like to stay and play but I've got what I've come for."

"Don't let him escape." Kurama yelled as a black aura appeared around the man then he was gone.

"Dammit." Yusuke and the others watched him disappear. "Where the hell is he taking them Botan?"


Kiyoshi looked at what was left of his once magnificent castle. It was nothing more than a ruin now. The lowest of youkai kind had taken up resident there. He quickly disposed of the vermin and cleared it out. He would restore it to it's former glory. First he had to secure the two human females then he'd fix up his home. His appetite kicked up, after he had dinner he'd fix his home.

He discarded the girls in a room, his energy was used to form bonds. That shoud keep them in place for now. Now to eat, he was sure one of the youkai he'd recently killed would be edible. The door closed behind him as he made his way back into the main chamber.

His eyes roamed over the corpses finding a decent one. "Yes, that one would do." He placed the tip of the staff on the back. A stink filled the air as the skin began to rot, "Hmm, now it's begining to smell like home."

His hand reached down to tear a piece of the rotted flesh. "Needs salt." Still he enjoyed his meal, while his thoughts wondered. Who were the men that had confronted him? Surely they would come for the women. Not that it mattered, he'd seen into their souls long enough to see they wouldn't be a problem for long. He had sensed the underlying jealousy and tension. If they came he'd show them one of his many talents. He'd just have to make sure he had a snack while he watched the show.
