Rin watched helplessly from the sidelines and realizing Sesshomaru wasn't planning on speaking to her she opened her mouth to protest. He, with a sharp glance at the pirate, a softer one at Rin, left the room, before she could utter a syllable. The next moment Rin was being hauled off to the captain's cabin and locked in securely. Her opposing argument dying on her lips as she heard the tell-tale plunk on the lock, sliding into place. Sighing she took a seat on the bed and waited.

Chapter Eleven

Sesshomaru walked with a brisk pace, picking up Naraku's scent. How could he not know? All these years he'd searched for the man and right when he was under his nose he hadn't even detected the bastard. Worse, the man had touched Rin, his Rin. The thought crept into his mind and lit his blood on fire. No one would harm Rin. The bastard had made him hate him the day he ruined his and his brother's bond and shamed his name, but now he had hurt someone he cared for most. He remembered the day Naraku swept the ship.

*****Flashback*****

The warning cannons went off and the bell sounded. InuYasha looked up from his map and he stood up instinctively. Racing topside, InuYasha looked portside and there was Naraku's ship. Kikyo's hand appeared on his shoulder. He turned his gaze to his mate and for the first time fear was clearly evident in his eyes. He shouted orders and took Kikyo in his arms. Giving her a soft meaningful kiss, InuYasha pushed her into Sesshomaru's arms.

"Take care of her." Sesshomaru nodded and began to drag the protesting girl in his arms down below. Sesshomaru went to the trap door and opened it. Kikyo was fighting him, trying to get back on deck, to help her mate. Suddenly she went still and Sesshomaru thought her to have become submissive. He pushed her more gently into the hole and closed it. He took a guard position in front of the secret hiding place and concentrated wholly on the door in front of him, unfortunately he should have paid slight attention to the priestess behind him.

The pain came fast and powerful. Turning just in time to jump away from the second blue shot of miko energy. He moved faster than she could see and tried to take hold of her only to be singed by the flaring aura around her. Getting a final hold on her, Sesshomaru turned ready to push her down into the hole when he sensed danger. Pushing Kikyo to the side, he drew his sword on a man behind him, who froze in fear, but then several more pirates appeared to help their shipmate. It was easy enough to dispose of them, but when he turned back around Kikyo was gone. He took off out the door and followed her scent, as difficult as it was with the mingled scents around him.

Appearing on deck just in time to watch as Kikyo had her throat slit.

*****End of Flashback*****

Cutting his reminiscing short, Sesshomaru turned a corner and ran directly into his little brother. Their eyes met for an electrifying moment, and then all hell broke loose. Sesshomaru squared his shoulders and his brother bared his teeth.

"What the hell are you doing here?" InuYasha always the brash one jumped in head first.

"Settling an old score. Go home." It was an unmistakable command. Sesshomaru intend to finish Naraku on his own, he owed it to himself and in the farthest reaches of his mind a small voice whispered 'And make it right with InuYasha'. Squashing his train of thought.

"I'm not leaving you are." InuYasha had a growl forming in his throat. Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes and a stare off began. A whip of the wind sent the disgusting stench of Naraku their way and both brothers growled before taking off, arguments set aside.

Arriving in front of a dingy looking inn, the brothers parted. Sesshomaru took off faster than could be seen, scoping the perimeter and finding a concealed workers entrance. InuYasha deciding to face his enemy head on burst through the front doors only to be confronted by the one person his past had sent to haunt him every night in his dreams. Kikyo.

She was in a very comprising position. Her top was hanging off her shoulders, the silky blue material falling beneath her breasts and her arms thrown around the neck of a big burly man with stubbly beard and graying hair. His face buried in her excessive amounts of cleavage, while her legs were spread wide rubbing against his bared swollen shaft, and just as she was about to impale herself on his stiffened member, InuYasha shouted, "What the hell?" The only thought he could process.

She glanced up, but the highly aroused drunk grabbed hold of her hips and pulled her down harshly, Kikyo shouted out in surprise and reaffirmed her grip around the mans neck, while he thrust repeatedly into her. She moaned and InuYasha snapped back to life, the surreal moment broken by the lustful moans and groans of the two people locked in a lovers embrace. He moved forward shock, fury, and something else fueling him as he ripped Kikyo off of the grotesque man.

"GIVE HER BACK AND WAIT YOUR TURN, I PAID FOR A FULL TWO HOURS, AND I PLAN TO GET MY FULL!" Kikyo sat on the floor quivering as she watched her former mate pull his sword from it's sheath and put it to the man's throat and then silently dare him to complain further. Surprisingly the man turned a sight whiter than when he had turned on him. The steps of the man could be heard pounding the floor well after he started running.

InuYasha turned his frigid glare on the trembling female. He studied her. She was definitely his ex-mate. How could that be? the question reverberated off the walls of his mind. She'd died before his very eyes, how could she have possibly come back. As if reading his mind she spoke, voice dull and eyes blank.

"I did die. I...I was resurrected by a demon. She took my body, which some how Naraku had gotten hold of, then called my soul. I've been back here from...I've been back here since then." Kikyo was with holding something, but there was too much to process for InuYasha to care. "I'm Naraku's mate." The words rolled off her tongue and InuYasha felt like he'd been sucker punched.

"How could you even..." he couldn't even comprehend this. It's bad enough his past came back to bite him in the ass and now his worst enemy had cut a nearly fatal blow. The hurt in his eyes and the unemotional stare coming from Kikyo set a scene of pity. Just as he was about to open his mouth again an explosion could be heard and the old inn shook, pieces of the roof falling and then all the candles that lit the room tittered falling. A fire broke out and InuYasha had trouble seeing and smelling. Kikyo was lost in the fog to him, then he felt it, a sharp blow to the head and everything went black.

*******Sesshomaru's Entrance*******

Sesshomaru, unlike his tactless brother, decided to scan the place, going from room to room. The air was thick with the stench of sex, vermin, puke, and Naraku. It was almost enough to make him pass out. Twelve rooms after he began his search and Sesshomaru came upon the last door. Danger signs were going off in his head, but he had way to much anger and too big a score to settle, to just turn back.

Curling his fingers around the cold hard metal of the doorknob, he entered. It appeared empty, but he could sense the Naraku's presence, like a firm fist slamming into his stomach and a cold coiling sensation through out his entire body, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end, and then he was there. Sitting behind the sycamore desk, eyes cold and glittering with laughter.

"So you got my message?" Sesshomaru's resolve turned to granite and a chuckle came from the menacing hanyou. "I thought I might motivate him a little." Sesshomaru served the surrounding decorum, trying to acquaint himself with the battlefield.

"This has been a long time coming." Sesshomaru drew his sword and tested it, seening his range. Naraku stood, but didn't draw his sword. He pulled a pair of short swords from a draw. He fiddled with their handles and then came 'round the desk in a quick fluid motion. Sesshomaru's eyes followed him; he took stance and then waited. It wasn't long before Naraku rushed forward and cut at his middle. Sesshomaru dodged and then went on the offensive. Plunging his sword on a downward slice.

Precious moments passed quickly and the blood dripping from the end of Sesshomaru's sword shocked him, but his emotional facade stood in place. Naraku let forth a dark menacing chuckle that grated on Sesshomaru's nerves like fingers on a chalk board. Watching as the wound that ran from left shoulder to right hip healed, with a flash of black energy. Naraku once again attacked. The clash of swords could be heard and rare artifacts that were strategically placed around the room were shattered into thousands of pieces. Sesshomaru continued to get his cuts in, not once being nicked himself, but all wounds made vanished as quickly as they were made.

A pause came both demons standing at opposite ends of the, now in tatters, office. Naraku chuckled as he pulled open a draw. "Now I would love to continue our little spat, but the timings not working for me. We'll continue another time later on when InuYasha can join us, huh?" Sesshomaru's guard was up and fizzling. Whatever was in the draw were his hand was lingering wasn't good. If he moved now he might be able to finish him, but something in his gut told him not to move forward.

Glancing at the door, Naraku made a fierce decision and pushed down on whatever was in the draw and was gone in a blinding flash of light. The sound didn't escape Sesshomaru and he took off out the office door. He didn't make it before the bomb went off in a loud resounding boom. The skin on his back and arms singed, and Sesshomaru was thrown forward through the wooden door at the end of the hall. Landing in a pile of splinters, from the door, he didn't move for a moment.

A hand came to his shoulder and Sesshomaru looked up into the shocked amber eyes of his younger brother. Sesshomaru looked at the hand on his shoulder and then, with a silent truce, grasped the wrist and was grasped in return, as he was pulled to his feet. Sesshomaru's senses were on end and his back and arms, though beginning to heal, hurt like a bitch. An imperceptible wince escaped him and it took all his mustered strength to stand and walk from the building, side by side with his brother.

InuYasha watched his brother with alert and alarmed eyes. Kikyo had scampered out the front doors of the inn the moment the blast reached their ears. InuYasha hadn't given her a second thought when he watched his brother being thrown from the heated blast and land in a lump on the floor. It hadn't registered that small pieces of wood were lodging themselves in his body when he raced to his fallen brother’s side. The thought of the small sharp wooden stakes in his body sent twinges of pain shocking through his body. There was just so much to take in. He was still wrapping his mind around the thought of Kikyo being alive and his son-of-a-bitch enemy had taken her for his mate. Images of Kikyo fucking the filthy swine drunkard assaulted his brain and he fought hard to contain his primitive feral anger.

Sesshomaru was staring at his brother and saw something unexplainably close to pain cross his face. This wasn't going to suddenly make everything like how it was before, but it was the first baby step to it and something he thought he'd lost along time ago came back to him with immense renewed strength, something kin to brotherly love. Pushing all thoughts aside and allowing his fogged mind to wander to the days events. His mind settled on Rin and he wasn't sure what he was going to say to her. 'Deepest apologizes Rin the bastard who killed your father got away?' Sesshomaru shook his head and watched as the ship came into sight. Both men shared a look before walking down the wharf to their separate ships and out of sight.

Sesshomaru made it to the quarterdeck of his ship and to his cabin. Rin was locked inside as instructed and apparently the wait had been too much for her because she was passed out on his bed. At the sound of the door closing though she awoke with a start. One sweeping gaze and she was at his side.

"Dear God. What happen to you?" she had grabbed him leading him to the table. She fret and cooed for several moments, then logic set in and she snatched a washcloth off the rim of the cabins water basin. As she removed bits of wood from his back and arms, Sesshomaru sat stonily, fighting the urge to bat away her gentle hands.

"Things did not go as planned. Naraku...He got away." Rin didn't even look up, but continued to tend his injuries. Sesshomaru's head snapped downward when she finally did speak.

"Well at least you got out alive. I was so worried." Wasn't she supposed to be mad at him? Hadn't he failed her in an unforgivable way, as he had his brother? Sesshomaru just continued to stare down at her as she finished applying fomentations to his arms and back. Finally she acknowledged his ridged stature and the confusion in his eyes.

"Are you alright?" Her voice was soft and she dared to reach out with her small soft hands and caress his face.

"Aren't you anger?" The question shocked her so much that her hand froze. Her eyes questioned with all her swirling thoughts as to why he'd ask such a ridiculous question.

"Why should I be angry?" It was Sesshomaru's turn to puzzlingly stare at her.

"I didn't avenge your father?" Rin's face softened at the mention of her father and though she'd felt a twinge of pain from early, she set it aside and joined him on the bed taking his hands.

"You didn't cause my fathers death. You tried to avenge something you didn't have any control over. If anything I'm sorry for you getting hurt because of it. You're only one person and can't be blamed. I would never condemn you. Ever." Sesshomaru had never cried in his life and he never would, but if he ever felt so much need to do so it would have been then. He took her in his arms and with a hard pain filled kiss he held her close. Her arms snaked around his waist and she coddled his head to her bosom and several moments passed and both were a sleep frozen in a tender caress.

*******With InuYasha*******

Kagome was roughly yanking out chunks of wood, her anger beyond words. InuYasha had run out early while she slept, without a word, or note. She'd paced a trail on deck and when he'd showed up looking like he'd been through hell and back she'd been moved to tears. After he tears had come her outrage. He'd told her everything and she'd felt sympathy for a while before the idea that he'd run out and could've been killed, without any regard for her or their childs feeling, she'd gone into an all out rant.

InuYasha hadn't counted on her anger, but he felt like a complete ass after her mentioning her and the pups. His hurt about Kikyo and Naraku had wholly disappeared and he'd been apologizing to his mate for the past hour an a half. The recklessness of his decision had been ringing in his ears. Though he flinched at the removal of every piece he didn't ask Kagome to be a little gentler. When she was pissed he knew to steer clear.

When all the pieces were removed and Kagome had roughly scrubbed his arms with a stale sponge, she tightly wrapped his arms. She moved with determination to their cabin. InuYasha followed like a scolded puppy, only to be rebuffed at the door. A pillow went flying at his head and a blanket caught him in the middle. "YOU CAN SLEEP ON THE DECK!" Kagome slammed the door in his face and he yelped as it hit his sensitive nose.

A few of the crew gave him peculiar glances as he grumbled his way to the bow and set out lying down on the hard wooden deck and preparing for a cold and restless sleep. So much for a tender endearing welcome. And with a huff he drifted off, tossing and turning.

A/N: Hey guys I hope you enjoyed it. I know it took me forever to post, but as I mentioned things haven't been easy. I hope the fact that it was the longest chapter yet helps make up fore it. Again happy birthday Ren and don't forget, you're never to old to be excited about a birthday. Until next time Egyptian Kiss!
