Day 4 Kagome part 2

Inuyasha raised his head. "Kaede is coming."

Sango ran out of the hut to watch Kirara land beside the hut. She ran over to Kaede. "Kaede Kagome has not awoken yet."

Kaede entered her hut and saw the girl that was like a granddaughter to her laying on her floor beside the fire. The kitsune was on one side of her and Inuyasha on the other. "Inuyasha, Miroku and Shippou ye will leave so Sango may assist me in checking Kagome over." She watched them reluctantly leave the hut before she walked over to Kagome. "Tell me everything that has happened to her lately Sango."

Sango told Kaede everything about their last adventure from the whirlwind, to the weird forest and Kagome waking up with the ears and tail she even told her of Sesshoumaru's kidnapping of Kagome.

Kaede rolled Kagome onto her side and pulled her shirt up to see the blue marking of the whirlpool on her back. "I have never seen this mark before. You said that she got this mark after the whirlwind of air took hold of her."

"Yes, we had went to bath shortly after and when Kagome undressed I noticed the mark on her back. She didn't know it was there." Sango watched as Kaede threw the sleeping bag the rest of the way off of Kagomes body.

She scanned the rest of Kagome's body and but it wasn't till she moved the girls hair out of the way that she spotted the blue raindrops on the back of Kagomes neck. "When did she receive this."

Sango looked at the mark on her friends neck. "I have never seen that mark before." They straightened Kagomes clothing and settled her back down. "This is very curious. She receives strange markings and then she turns into a youkai. At first I believed that Sesshoumaru had done something to her to make her change. But the more I thought about it the less sense it made. Beside she was fine after their encounter and this started before he even showed up." Sango watched as Kaede gathered herbs from around the hut.

"I am going to make a tea and then we will have to get her to drink it. Maybe if I go into her mind I can find out what is happening." Kaede ground the herbs together and waited for the water to boil. "While I am doing that Sango I want you to make sure no one enters this hut. We must not be disturbed or it could be more damaging to Kagome. Have Miroku place demon wards at all the openings of the hut and do not allow Kikyou anywhere near. I can sense her and she is close."

"Inuyasha brought her here to try and help Kagome but I refused to allow her to enter your hut. I am sorry if you get angry at me for this but I will not allow her to harm Kagome again." Sango bowed her head.

"You did right Sango. If Kikyou had any idea how weak Kagome is she would surely try to harm her to gather the rest of Kagomes soul. Sometimes Inuyasha doesn't show the best judgement." Kaede poured the water into the herbs and set it aside to cool. "Ok Sango get everyone ready."

Sango grabbed her boomerang and walked out of the hut. Miroku, Inuyasha and Shippou approached her. "Miroku Kaede would like for you to place demon wards around the hut to protect Kagome from any attacks from that side. Inuyasha, Kirara and Shippou then you and I will guard the hut from all sides. No one is to enter or get near. Kaede especially mentioned not to allow Kikyou anywhere near the hut either. Do you all understand?" Everyone nodded and before long the were all stationed at their post. Shippou had decided to go with Inuyasha he didn't quite trust him after this morning. They watched the barrier appear around the hut. Now they waited again.

Kaede put up a barrier and knelt beside Kagome. She held the tea up to her and she drank it down with no trouble. Soon her body took on a purple glow. Kaede placed her palm on Kagomes head. She found herself in a clearing. She found Kagome in a clearing and she gasped at seeing Sesshoumaru beside her. They both turned at her gasp. "What is going on here Kagome?" Kaede approached the miko and the lord.

Kagome jumped up and ran to her side. She grabbed Kaede and hugged her to herself. "Oh Kaede you finally made it."

Kaede returned the girls hug but she didn't take her eyes off of the demon lord. "What is he doing here?"

"It's a long story Kaede. Come to my tent with me and I will explain it to you." Kagome grabbed her hand and drug Kaede behind her. She chose the smaller of the two tents and entered it. She sat in one chair at the table and waited till Kaede sat in the other. "One minute please." She closed her eyes and called for Hani. Hani appeared before her.

"Yes my dear." Hani saw what Kagome was showing her in her mind. "You may tell the old miko but warn her not to tell the others." With that Hani was gone.

Kaede watched as Kagome closed her eyes and then she nodded her head. What is the girl doing?

Kagome opened her eyes. "Sorry I had to ask someone a question. I was told that I could confide in you. " She took a deep breath of air before she continued. "I don't know how much of this you will believe but before I say anything you must promise me that you will not tell anyone what I am about to tell you."

"I promise child." Kaede watched as Kagome nodded to her.

"Well it seems the gods have decided to make me immortal at least till Sesshoumaru passes then who knows what will happen. They have also chosen to make us mates and to turn me into a youki." Kagome paused for a second to catch her breath.

"What do you think of taking him as a mate? And what of Inuyasha?" Kaede watched Kagome carefully for any sign of distress.

"To tell you the truth I really don't know. For the last four years I have seen him as our enemy but through my meetings with Rin I got a glimpse of a far different person. But it is hard to see Sesshoumaru in a new light. Not impossible mind you but our past does make it a little more difficult. I'm suppose to just accept that the gods chose him for me and we really have no choice in the matter. I am doing my best to go along with everything but it is so hard." Kagome sighed. "He really isn't making it any easier. All he does is growl at me. Do you have any idea how aggravating it is to be growled at. At least he hasn't tried to harm me yet. But that is probably due to Hani threatening him. If she hadn't I am sure he would have tried by now."

"I would have liked to see his face when Hani threatened him." Kaede was trying her best not to laugh. "Child you didn't say anything about Inuyasha."

"I will always have feeling for him but they have changed. I love him as a friend and brother. But if he hasn't chosen me in four years I really don't want him to choose me since I changed into a youki. It is time that I grew up. I and I alone am responsible for my happiness. If I must be mated to Sesshoumaru I will make the most of it."

"I will tell your friends that you are tired and just need the rest. I will see you when you are ready to wake." Kaede stood up and returned Kagome's hug then she left the tent. She saw Sesshoumaru still sitting beside the stream and nodded to him. Then she left the clearing.

Kaede awoke and lowered her barrier. It wasn't long before Kagome's friends burst into her hut. "I saw Kagome and she just need to rest. It may take a couple of days. When she wakes we will talk more."

The gang resumed their positions around the hut. It was going to be a long couple of days.
