Tour

That evening Rin and Auko were sitting at the large, long dinner table. Rin had shown her around the building, showing her which parts she knew. They were waiting for Sesshomaru to join them. They heard a door close and saw him walking towards them, followed by the ever-annoying Jaken.

He took a seat at the end of the table, with a girl on each side of him. Once seated, the servants started bringing out the food.

“Auko, you must be feeling much better seeing as you have not rested all day,” Sesshomaru said.

“No, I fell asleep in the garden when I was playing with Tork and Rin. When I awoke, I found the two resting next to me,” Auko said smiling at Rin. She smiled back.

“I had one of the servants move you to a new room,” Sesshomaru said to Auko. “That other one is just for the injured and ill. Your new one is a bedchamber. I will show you where it is later.”

“Oh ok. But I don’t think I will be staying long enough to need my own bedchamber.”

He have her a glare. “But if that’s what you want me to do, than I don’t care.” Auko quickly explained. Sesshomaru returned to eating his food.

Sesshomaru listened to Auko and Rin’s conversation, not really saying anything. It held no importance, but it was somewhat amusing. When the meal was finished Sesshomaru stood to leave.

“Rin, go wash up and return to your chambers. Auko come with me,” Sesshomaru ordered. Rin got up and left while Auko wiped her mouth with a cloth and then stood up. She followed Sesshomaru up a flight of stairs. Rin had flown past them to her own room. Sesshomaru turned left, then right to a long hallway.

“This is the hallway that leads to all the bedchambers on this floor. The servants sleep downstairs.” Sesshomaru walked down the hallway part way and pointed to a door. “That is Rin’s room.” Walking a bit further he directed her to another door, slightly bigger then Rin’s. “This will be your room.” He said opening the door.

Auko looked inside. She whistled. “Wooow…this is really nice. You guys really go all out don’t you.” She turned back towards him. “I guess that’s your chamber huh?” Auko said pointing to two large cherry oak doors at the end of the hallway.

“Yes, and I suggest you don’t go in there,” he warned her.

She gave him a sly smile while raising an eyebrow. He responded with a glare of disapproval. “So Rin gave me a tour of the building earlier. She told me she wasn’t allowed on the third floor, but I was wondering if it was just children allowed or others in general.”

“No, it’s just Rin. You can go up there if you want, but you find nothing useful or entertaining. But…you cannot go in the basement. That is off limits to all unless I say otherwise.”

“Alright. Maybe I should tell you I have the curiosity of a cat though.”

“Hn. Just don’t get killed like one,” he said walking off. “Good night Auko.” He turned the corner and left her standing by the open doorway.

Walking inside, she shut the door behind her. Auko really took in the richness now. There was a king sized canopy bed in the middle of the room against the wall. To the right were to large window glassed doors leading out onto a deck like her last room. Walking over to it she shut the white curtains to discover they were silk. She walked over the vanity with the large mirror that was to the right of the bed, running her hand of the marble.

Auko walked around the bed for the time being and went to the closet. Opening the folding doors, she revealed a large stock of clothing. Her breath caught in her throat when she saw that he had had more of the outfits she had requested made. She counted a total of twenty, each of nice quality. Auko took out one that was red and was overcome with glee to find it was just like the won that had been torn up. Putting it away, she found other clothing of kimonos, bed robes and extra pieces to mix and match. She closed the doors and leaned her back against them.

How was she suppose to thank him for all these things. What if she did end up having to pay him back for it all? All those clothes for only a couple of days. Auko hated accepting charity, but maybe he just wouldn’t allow her go around in a poor manner while in his presence. Well, she wasn’t really poor. Actually, she had a lot of money that she kept hidden from when she was paid or stole valuable things she found beautiful or worthy of stealing.

She walked over to the bed and flopped down on it. Auko quickly pulled herself off when she felt the blankets to be silk. She ran her hand of the silk, down filled comforter. Pulling the sheets back she discovered they were silk also, along with the pillows. The oak bed with four spiraling poles that went to the ceiling supported a while transparent curtain. It sagged down in the middle and the curtains were pulled pack to the poles, secured by strings. It was all too much for her to take in at once, so she just got in her bed robe, put out the lamps, and climbed into bed.
